    More NPC's need to be added!!!!!!!!!! Couldn't agree more..Maybe the whole idea of a "zone" or "area" or you can call it whatever you like where you could randomly be attacked is not feasible or not easy to be implemented..I accept that it has flaws...But you know..When i had to defeat those guards at the shop..Or the Guardians of Loreroot..It felt good..Gave my a motivation to find the right ritual to be stronger..well it worked..Maybe Sharpwind is stating it wrong...But more NPC'c NEED to be added..Even i am starting to lose interest in the game..harsh as it may sound...

    Just to clarify sthg..I never said that we suddenly should reject the system as it is now (gather ingredients +WP).
    On the contrary "special" items should still be created this way (or given to players with a particular role).. what i am suggesting is an add-on, or an enhancement if you prefer. There is a huge discrimination between "Knator Commander's sword" or "Woodin's seal fragments" (and nobody with a common sense can expect to craft such items out of raw material), and a "flute" or "a plow".
    And why would someone pay silver to craft a "flute" if not to support his role as musician, or a "plow" if not to support his role as a farmer for example..I wouldn't waste silver to pretend sthg that i am not..And again i want to stress out that we are not talking about "the flute that sings on its own" or "North's flute given to him by the 3rd brother of Khalazdad" but for just a "flute"..Plain as that
    In addition to that there is a system to prevent abuse between alts as far as creatures are concerned. The same could apply for items..
    Anyway..just a suggestion

    Ok i want to state my opinion too regarding this issue..I voted Yes and yes..And i want to explain the reasons..I think Burns (and i guess others as well) attitude in this case is wrong..the "a priori" condemnation of anything new and potentially interesting and the attachment to the "old" system, does not help this game to evolve. It is clear that the "item" system (among others) as it is now it is completely unfunctional and wrong.

    SO we are acknowledging the facts but we're not doing anything to change them.. Crafting items from raw material is an idea that could work.. and we are not talking now about the "magical sword that takes souls" out of raw material:blink:...
    But alot of things can be made out of wood,iron, ore for a price..From a sledgehammer to a wooden cottage who knows..Imagination people (i guess i made it clear that i dislike the term "standard items " as well)..What will be the use of this items..well only rp-ing comes to mind now..

    So a store somewhere in MD (lands of the east for example does nt have to be MB for everything) where you can buy raw material for silver and the ability to craft an item from raw material (for silver again and not WP)...Why not?

    I think it could be useful and fun for the role-play to have some standard items... like a fishing pole, a net, buckets, bags, cloaks, blankets, traps, hunting knifes, torches, masks, belts, gloves,...

    Perhaps it would be a good idea for the crafters to make also standard(simple) items (from raw materials) for silver coins,
    beside the special items (from raw materials and standard items) for the wishpoint

    What do you think ?

    hmmm so... there are no standard requirements and the raw materials are too hard to find and too expensive to get...

    Well ok it's understandable for special and new items to be like that but I think a crafter should also make a list with some standard items that he knows how to create
    and in time fill it with the new types of items he invents or creates for others

    As for the raw materials I think North is right there should be a shop for the standard raw materials (wood, steel, ...)

    (An idea for the shop to work:
    Perhaps it could be restocked weekly with random supplies in raw materials at random time and allow each player 1 material transaction per day)

    Ok i understand how things work...But shouldn't there be a place in MD -a shop perhaps- where someone could buy raw materials in order to proceed in crafting an item??..depending solely on a specific item holder's mood , or his overpriced needs is absurd!

    2) [b]drachorn boost:[/b] give a creature an attack boost ([u]duration:[/u] 6 hours)
    3) [b]drachorn sense:[/b] being able to sense how many drachorns an opponent has on his def ritual ([u]duration:[/u] 12 hours)

    I find the auction, to be honest and to get my reputation to -100 or so, rather stupid. Stupid because i can't find any other word. As much as I agree that people should be rewarded for their work, I am simply.... dumbstruck? (did I invent a new word?) by the idea of an auction. If you want to reward them, reward them personally. Not by putting some awesome creatures / other things under our noses and then let people show off how much credits they pay. (yes shadow, i read your post). An auction should give ALL participants an equal chance, or at least try to. And the idea of a separate auction for... "lowlifes" i think you'd call us if even more hilarious. What are we gonna fight for? An Aramor with Claw 1 on it??
    It seems as if this auction is just meant to upset people and give others a reason to flick others' noses "HA! See what i got?" It seems so corrupt and... ugh... At least you could have made it private, so we don't have to watch. And you wonder why people leave from MD.
    Don't tell me to leave if i don't like it. I just wanted to point something out.
    Of course you like it, so far I've seen posts from people who have a chance of winning something and don't just have to watch how others get items / spells / creatures that will get them even more lost fights (etc).
    I'd like the idea as well if i knew I'd stand a chance. I tried to ignore every bad aspect of MD until now. People get away unpunished, some get to finish quests faster because they tucked some coins in the right pocket, creatures / items given for the very good reason of being in 'love' with someone 5000 miles across the world, completely unfair system for newbies, and many more. I hate being impolite, but one thing I don't stand for is discrimination. Argue about this as much as you want, this is just the way i see it.

    As I said, my intention is not to alter the course of the current auction, but to point out some things (that may or may not deflate some ego-s). MD is going the wrong way, and I think the best example of what happens when something goes wrong from the high positions in the social hierarchy is Romania itself, Mur / Manu should know what i'm talking about. It's pretty much the same situation.




    oh, and just in case you start typing "well nobody asked you to go and look at the items for sale" stop and read.

    It's not essential ? Well currently, as North also states, it is the introduction to this game !

    It was my main reason to go to mp4 and mp5 (to see the story continue...which never happened) and to enter new lands

    I believe it is a starting point to understand this realm and I am glad Mur wants to reshape and improve it

    i will say that real newb that puts enough effort in game can reach mp5 in 2 weeks, actually i think we have many examples in here, every player that has dedication and potential can reach it but they dont click that one button that will make them mp5 becoz.. they heard wots up there, but that isnt point, point is that every new player can hit requirements for mp5 pretty fast and if he chooses to go to mp5 becoz of story he will do it, so... dont rush with conclusions, after all its a shame to lose such a player

    Well if a player follows the rules and the announcements, keeps the balance, has a good overall activity and wants to find out what happens in the story next,
    then he'll reach mp5 very very soon and will get stuck in the story mode (probably as there's only one route not under construction)

    And alas he will not know that mp5 is a jungle where vet-osaurs prey on the newcomers out of boredom,
    there is no chance what so ever to defeat most of them or win the HC

    and will probably leave (if he's bored or unwilling to make a new character)
    or make a new character and stay mp3-mp4 forever or the most he can, if he's an addict to the game like me

    I still see this player as a new player and a player like me

    I really don't know how much work is needed for it to be implemented (that's one of the reasons I suggested splitting it to 3 pieces the other is making it shorter for new players not to get bored from it) but perhaps it's more vital than other changes

I fully understand that he is overloaded with tons of things but that "under construction sign is really sthg frustrating to see. It leaves a bad impression especially for new players. In the end, choosing alternatives routes in story mode as it is now should not be encouraged, if no one intends to complete the unfinished parts of the story..

    I do agree with the ideas Mur proposed..I would also support a even more drastic change since we are in the process of changing storymode..I never truly understood why all mp levels should repeat the same story...That is a personal opinion and i guess that it would involve great effort and time from Mur but i would like to see a different story on each MP level..The community could contribute as well (story,artwork) if sthg like that was requested.

    Why not just making a HC tournament just for vet players, where everyone can compete over and over again (perhaps even from all mp levels at the same time)

    with no actual reward other than a special gold metal and their names inscribed in gold on the pillar under the statue in the tribunals in the order of most wins

    Wouldn't that be something to fight and train for ??

    Head contest is really one of the most interesting and challenging parts of MD..Unfair as it is it gives great thrills and sleepless nights.

    I enjoyed participating in mp4 (Totenkopf i do remember how fierce competition you were )..and kind of regretted participating too early..should have waited until i was stronger and had a chance to win 1st place instead of 4..  HC Is  one of the things that i anticipate when i get to mp5..

    But to compete against ALL of the vets? That would surely give me zero chances of winning anything..Some of them ok but ALL?? then there will be no point in playing..Now don't get me wrong..There is nothing that i would like more than participating once more in MP4...

    But what would be fairer (even in an unfair contest ) is to have different contests for young and vet players..A special tournament for vets, on a different date maybe where everyone above a predefined amount of active days could participate and win (without even a limitation on how many times you are allowed to win)




    Ps: It's offtopic but i think the structure of Torch competition should be changed as well in order to  make it more interesting for the community, especially now with citizenship eg..reward to winning  country, and then maybe a reward from the king to the top 3 performers from this country etc)..As it is now seems pretty dull and with minimal participation..

    I like the whole idea, the story mode must get shorter cause lots of new players are leaving before it's finished

    Since story mode changes will be happening ...
