Last year we did The Twelve Days of Christmas. SageWoman and I propose that this year we do "The Night Before Christmas" so we won't have to sing off key. But to make this interesting, let's put a lot of drama into this one and really make it a show to remember! Here are the words to help you: Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there. The children were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads. And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap, Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap. When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash, Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash. The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below. When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a miniature sleigh, and eight tinny reindeer. With a little old driver, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be St Nick. More rapid than eagles his coursers they came, And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name! "Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen! On, Comet! On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen! To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall! Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!" As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky. So up to the house-top the coursers they flew, With the sleigh full of Toys, and St Nicholas too. And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof The prancing and pawing of each little hoof. As I drew in my head, and was turning around, Down the chimney St Nicholas came with a bound. He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot, And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot. A bundle of Toys he had flung on his back, And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack. His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry! His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry! His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow, And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow. The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth, And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath. He had a broad face and a little round belly, That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly! He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf, And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself! A wink of his eye and a twist of his head, Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread. He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk. And laying his finger aside of his nose, And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose! He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle, And away they all flew like the down of a thistle. But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight, "Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!" Twas the Night before Christmas Poem By Clement Moore *Changed Because the Poem was incorrect. I can make it storm and I can call the Sun out. I like the idea of those spells affecting certain aspects of our creatures.
Day 297 Year 5 (WARNING: REMARKS MADE HERE ARE PART OF THE QUEST NOT TO HAVE ANY INFLUENCE ON OTHER QUESTS OR RPS. PLEASE ONLY USE THIS AS HISTORY TO KEEP IN TIME WITH THE QUEST) After being asked to leave the Tribunal, Phantasm strikes the Chain of Mercy into the ground outside the temple door. He once again draws the circle and the symbols again appear and fly off into the Tribunal lands. He cuffs himself to the Chain of Mercy and begins to reflect on days gone by. Friends and family of the lands spread across this great land. He recollects his early days, struggling for a foothold and talking in long lengths with Zeiphenier. Running about like some mad man triyng to find a place to call his own. Finding friends like Kragel, Peace, Marvolo, Sagewoman, Windy, and many many more. Heroes and legends all in their own right. He smiles as he remembers the first time he set foot on the grounds of the Tribunal and found at last a place to rest his weary feet. To travel no more and spend his days out with those who are left to call him friend. The lull of his own thoughts slowly fade him off to sleep, as Yoshi stands close by, watching the strange cloaked man shackled to the ground.
I'm somebody now! I've been mentioned in an Archive! Yay me!

Being lost or the feeling of being lost means different things to many people. Sometimes we lose our selves in doing everything for others. In giving to others or trying to please everyone we love or work with, we forget sometimes to remember who and what we are. If you look in the mirror and don't feel connected to that image, then to me, that means you've forgotten to take care of #1, YOU. It is time to delegate more work to others and take sometime for yourself. Go back to the beginning and review what your original goals and dreams were. It is time to be true to yourself. I've had this feeling about you for sometime, Mur. You have so much going on that you do not know if you are coming or going...God forbid if you bump into yourself. Stand back at the image looking back at you from the mirror. Do you like that person? Do you love that person? Do you remember who that person is? Food for thought, darling.

After reading all the limericks I have made a decision. Three of them made me laugh. Kudos for doing that. But after a lot of lip biting, I have decided that Apop is the winner. Congratulations and thanks to all for participating!

I am sad to see you go. You were there when I first started my pub and you were a lot of fun to role play with. I made you my little brother. However, you my dear, got lost along the way. You tried so very hard to get things moving that you quit being someone I could turn to and create mischief and mayhem. I mean where do you get off? You are such a hypocrite! I agree that MD has changed and not for the better. But you can't blame everything on that. When you became reclusive, that is when things changed. You are a link on our chain, and you broke your link from the chain. Look back to when we had so much fun, role playing together. You will see that what I say is true. I love you Granos, and I will sorely miss you.
The original limerick doesn't scan. I am sorry to be pedantic, which is terribly rude, but your original version breaks the meter. My punctiliousness (some would say Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder) prevents me from using your version. The fault is in me, not in you. Edited to be less obnoxious
^_^I broke the meter? >_< Darn it! Thanks for telling me. I won't hold this against you, I still love you, punctiliousness and all.

Very good replies. Please for the love of Mur! Don't change the original limerick! You are only required to add the last line.

I think that non-speaking communication in role playing can be fun and challenging too. It is fun to watch everyone try to figure out what Ludwig is trying to "say". If at all else fails, speak back to him in "clackish". He may have created an entirely new language!

I got caught up in a limerick game recently and it got into my blood. So I propose a fun contest. I will start out with a limerick about a character near and dear to me, and then someone has to continue it. Here are some basic rules for creating a limerick:

5 lines.
Rhyme structure is AABBA (lines 1,2 and 5 rhyme, and 3 & 4 rhyme with each other. Their "beat" is di di dum di di dum di di dum
Lines 1, 2, and 5 generally have seven to ten syllables, while lines 3 and 4 have only five to seven syllables. Their beat is di di dum di di di dum...
Ideally, it should be about a humorous or clever story/observation/statement, with the last line carrying the real "zinger" that makes it truly funny.
Keep it CLEAN AND FUN! Cut and paste my limerick into your response and then add your ending. The one with the best ending will get a Gold Imperial Aramor. So here goes. I did indeed, mess up the meter of the limerick. Thanks to Lucius, I have fixed my limerick to suit the contest. I pray that those of you who haven't yet fixed their limerick, will do so ASAP. THE CONTEST IS NOW OVER. THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR ENTRIES. JUDGING WILL COMMENCE AT ONCE AND WINNER ANNOUNCED AT A LATER TIME. There once was a boy named aranna, who was eating a greenish banana. While to peel it was easy, he became rather queasy,
