  1. Just found this and saw my name as "Galadriel". Seeing as I only watched Lord of the rings for the first time about a week ago, I have to say this made me laugh a lot! I couldn't work out if she was good or not... :))
  2. We could just make leashes for all the beginners, force them to stay and be our slaves? Problem sorted. They'll be so busy fulfilling our every whim, they won't have time to leave!
  3. That's very understandable, but I'm not just talking a few months...I'm talking a year, possibly two. I think, as you pointed out, the area that needs working on is how we get people to stay. Change suggested and interesting idea about giving new players roles. Perhaps there could be a generic role when you begin and, to progress to another role, you need to fulfil requirements of the current one?
  4. What happened to Magicduel? For the last year and a half I have been on and off Magicduel sporadically, it seems everything changes apart from one problem: the lack of players. Now, I know many of you will say "But MD is ticking along just fine", which I don't disagree with at all,but I call this a "problem" because, personally, I quite enjoyed having a fresh wave of beginners come through, most with their unique little roles, stories, ways of thinking and everything that creates a diverse population. In the last 12 (and probably more) months, we seem to have lacked a quantity of new players. With older players now becoming more and more inactive, I can't see this as a "ticking along just fine" concern. The effect is visible; the once most densely populated alliances now have around 4-5 members, you can pass through area after area without seeing another person, less and less role play happens and it's more common to see someone idle that it is online! So again I ask: What happened to Magicduel? Is BFH still the primary advertiser? If so are we getting enough traffic to the website? Is advertising being maintained? Do people just not want to play the game, if so...why not? Is it not user friendly or interesting enough if you're brand new? Or is it altogether a different reason? MD has been around for a very long time and a lot of us have been a part of it for just as long. I don't want to see something that has been worked on so hard and has such loyal followers to just fade out with time. MD may only be a "game" but it is also a legacy. Without MD some of us would have never met (be it in game or in real life) and never spoken. I'm sure there are many of you that have something to be thankful to MD about... I know I do. ~Sasha Lilias, Ghost of Fortune

  6. Quest Update As from the 22nd of December 2014 I declare this quest re-opened. Changes in rules: The quest shall now run for no less than 2 months and no more than 3. Clickable items are hidden in all lands bar Golemus. All submissions will be anonymous when judged. The winner shall be decided by a panel of 4, including myself. There will be 1 winner that qualifies for one of my "Grand prizes", though others may be rewarded if seen fit. All entries should be submitted to Azull via Forum message. Please include the quest name in the title. This quest is sponsored by myself. Should, however, others wish to sponsor anything else, please let me know through forum messages. Happy hunting! ~Sasha Lilias, Ghost of Fortune
  7. The fact I have a 12 month gym membership... :))
  8. Very well. Message me in game and I'll send you a code. ~Sasha
  9. So players that received their WP's through hard work should get a refund then, or some sort of compensation? Because you're basically doing exactly what you said here . Really? The fact that things such as Story mode are still "under construction" and have been for years is one thing. Also the fact there are dozens of new ideas and tests going on before even one of them has been fully implemented! It's always been the same. Anyway, this is going completely of topic. As I said, in my opinion, some WP rewards have lost value and perhaps should be considered being put deep into a new branch. Whether you do it or not? Not my problem. End of.
  10. Why refund? I bought a TV a few weeks ago but now it's discounted. Do I walk in demanding for the excess to be paid back to me? Or perhaps make it harder to either a) get wishpoints or b) to get the specific wish, perhaps raise the amount of wish points required to unlock it? You're looking at the old magic duel, comparing it with now and saying "We can't do this because of this and that" when you are quite capable of looking at it yourself and coming up with solutions to the technicalities and difficulties of implementing something new. I'm not suggesting making anything free, or easier to get, I'm suggesting you mix it up a little. Things tend to become dull and boring after a while, which may be one of the reasons MD is nowhere near as populous as it once was... OR You could simply finish one task before undertaking another, but that's another topic altogether...
  11. I think you're missing my point. Others had mentioned not having wish point shop items moved to the credits shop. I'm stating my opinion that some should be, as their value has decreased ten fold. It also led onto the thought that the credits branch could be more involved in skills, including spells.
  12. Just what I was thinking. Well in that case I am unable to help I'm afraid! I would say I'd donate so that people may enter without giving, but that would ruin the point of the fun... If there is still only one person in 24 hours, then I will be the second and take part so the other may receive a gift. :) ~Sasha
  13. I, personally, think the wishpoint shop is rather outdated and needs a clean and "sprucing" up. All items decrease in value the more common they become. In this case basic spells such as attack lock and move lock should be HIGHLY devalued by now. You only have to have something like 40 active days to be able to purchase them for crying out loud. I'd suggest a branch that focuses on skills, be it fighting or magic. Items could be: The first 4 casts of a basic spell - Movelock and Attacklock for example. Temporary items that increase the new gathering skills by x% for x amount of time. Spell boosts - Increase in duration, power or even amount by x% The possibilities are endless. Also, before anyone goes and says "but this will just ruin the system and over power everything!" you could quite easily say the same about items such as the shield or the sword, no? It's all about planning and moderation. Just like in other branches, place 20-50 of the temporaries before you get to the crème de la crème of that part of the shop. Not all characters are fighters...I'd say upgrades on spells (both in shop and in wishpoint terms) and the role playing system are needed. Even the game name dictates "Magic" and "Fighting" as the main areas... ~Sasha
  14. Hm. Is it still a "Give and receive" event? I'm not interested in receiving but trying to work out the mechanics of an idea...
  15. What are you on at the moment? As usual I will be giving out gifts this year but mine shall be to those I see in game and online. However, if you are still lacking for your forum gifting spree then let me know and I'm sure I can spare you a few. ~Sasha
  16. I must apologise for my absence and the delay in this quest. Unfortunately there will be more delays on this quest until further notice. Due to unexpected, real life, occurrences I cannot guarantee a set end date for this quest. Until then, please feel free to message Player names and your Poems to me Via the forums. This quest will continue and judging will commence fours weeks after my return. Thank you for your patience, ~Sasha
  17. They are in NML, MB and LR lands. Just the location and name of character. They have all been in the DS alliance.
  18. I will buy any number of spell stones for credits. There is no spell I search for in particular nor a limit to the amount of same spells. Spell stones must come to a minimum value of $5, so think when you post. You must post the stones you are selling, quantities of each stone. I will send you a private message with my offer. The more interesting the spells, the more I will offer. This has no time frame attached to it. I will be buying for as long as people wish to sell. Consider this an exchanging or conversion service. Happy offering, ~Sasha Lilias, Ghost of Fortune
  19. Update to deciding winner After some thought and consideration I have decided that I can't deny then points made above and that they are very true. With this being the case judging shall now be done by myself and a select few. If you are interested in being a judge then please message me. You will not be eligible to take part in the quest. Thank you, ~Sasha Lilias, Ghost of Fortune
  20. No quest is fool proof Dst, but think negatively and negativity is sure follow. Firstly, I don't doubt some will try to cheat, it's bound to happen. But take a look at the quest again. This requires a lot of effort to complete, as well as skill with words and research. Not just anyone can create a piece of poetry to the standard I am asking for. I am not going to go to huge extents to stop all possibilities of cheating when the quest itself is a way of preventing mere "cheats" and " fraudsters". However, if I catch anyone mentioning or discussing their entries, or trying to rig/influence the quest in any way, there will be concequences. This quest is more than "just another quest" but I shan't be discussing that here. If you wish to ask about that then contact me privately. The prizes were decided in coordination with the above statement and also the difficulty factor. With that said, I have reserved the right to choose what prize is deserved and will be given. This is a public quest for and about public players. The voting will be done also by the public.
  21. Update on rules - Please read carefully - No piece of poetry is to be shared or discussed amongst one another. All pieces are to be kept anonymous until after voting has finished. Any discussion found on pieces before voting has finished will void the mentioned piece of work and result in a ban from this quest. You may mention or state you are taking part, but not which piece belongs to you. This may seem uncalled for but, as possible rewards are large, harsher rules are required. Thank you, ~Sasha Lilias, Ghost of Fortune
  22. Each piece will be placed into a new thread where a voting poll will be implemented. By personal details I mean attributes, characteristics, likes, dislikes, achievements, etc.
  23. The living owe it to those who no longer can speak to tell their story for them. ~Czezslaw Milsoz Introduction The Dimensional Shifters have embraced great changes through years gone by, and it is those changes that have sculpted the guild into what it is today. Although the guild has seen better days, where it's influence and respect in the realm was far higher than that of which it is today, the future still lies ahead; ready to be moulded and shaped into what me make it to be. This quest is to take a look back into the history of the guild and to remember those that left their mark on it, for both the good and the bad reasons. ------------------ Details Hidden around the realm, in certain clickables, there are images of those that were once a part of the guild, and somehow did something to or for it. In total there are 7 players to be found. ------------------ How to partake To be able to win you must find all 7 characters and name them. Sounding too easy? Well here comes the tricky part. After finding and naming all characters, you must then choose 1 of the 7 and write a piece of original poetry on them. The piece must contain personal details about the character and how they affected the guild. You must also, somehow, include a location within MD that they had a connection with or you feel best describes them. Sounding a little harder now? Well I'm not finished yet! Your piece of poetry must conform to one of these five sub-types: Ballad Ballade Sonnet Ode Acrostic ------------------ Reward(s) and method of choosing a winner There will be only one winner but the reward large. As this will be what I hope is a very hard quest the list of possible rewards are as follows: Wishpoint - Rustgold Drachorn - $100 Game Credits I, Sasha Lilias, will reserve the right to decide what prize will be given, depending on the quality of work. The winner will be chosen, however, through public voting. ------------------ How to enter Before sending your poetry you must send to me a message containing the names and whereabouts of all 7 characters. If all names are correct, then I shall reply letting you know you are free to enter your piece of poetry. If the names are wrong, even one, then your piece will not be eligible for a main prize, but will be entered into a "consolation" prize draw. You will only have one shot at naming them all correctly, so make sure it counts. All entries must be sent to me through a forum message, laid out in the format you wish it to appear when put to public votes. Due to the difficulty of the quest it shall be run for a minimum of one month. From thenceforth pieces shall not be accepted, and will be put to vote in a new thread, one week after the last submission. I suggest, to those that enter the competition, that you keep a close eye on this topic as I shall be announcing here when the competition is coming to a close. Nowhere else. ------------------ Time of current deadline: 11th April 2014 ------------------ I wish you all the very best of luck and happy writing. ~Sasha Lilias, Ghost of Fortune *If there are any questions or concerns please send me a message via forum or in-game messaging.*
  24. I agree on the greed situation, as much as you may say otherwise. I asked a general question about money on alts, this caused a discussion and I answered back. I don't expect it for just myself, I'd expect it for no one or everyone. I've been in the realm for over four years (or something like that), I highly doubt I spent even 3 months of that time in jail. I'd have had plenty of opportunity. Especially considering the MDShop still works in jail, I'd have just used it for personal gain.
  25. So, because of the possibility that a few might try to use alts to abuse this, the rest of us should miss out? It you want to talk about fairness then where is the fairness in that? Some people, such as myself, (yes I use myself purely because I can), spend huge amounts of credits on the game to help others and the game itself. Yes, there are obvious ways of abusing this rule, such as the "Lib Effect", but tokening? I can safely say I have tokened creatures for other people, does it make it wrong that you're helping someone whilst still supporting? Ok, so they pay for the tokens themselves, but you're still losing what you yourself could have had. It's exactly the same as selling creatures with tokens, except you're helping to support the game instead of your own pockets of gold. I never once knew that this "Spent credits" list would come into action, nor did I once expect to be rewarded for what I did. But I see it "unfair" that I could have spent $2600+ on one account, had I known about it and just wanted the rewards, but because I didn't know, and wanted to be kind, I spent them all on different accounts. Yet players that have spent the same amount of credits purely on themselves get rewarded twice as much? Why shouldn't I ask for at least a portion on my alts to be counted as this is a reward for the player? This just shows that each case is individual and should be treated as such. As I said before, this is generous of Mur in any case, but fairness should be implemented.
