I spotted it quite some time ago and it seemed others who I mentioned it to already knew about it, so I don't think it's that big of a spoiler to mention here.

I also have my own theories on why it's there that I don't wish to share at the moment, but it is indeed an interesting icon to have planted right there as apart of the gate to Necrovion.

Necrovion rebels are still citizens of the Land, therefore you cannot discriminate.

As a side note, as you are even younger than me in the land, I hope you are not the one judging the submissions.

In my experience, if you're truly going to implement an alt character, or a "second" (or even a "third") as I've grown accustomed to calling them, it is absolutely best to not even let on that you are someone else that everyone already knows.

If you're out to be a new person, [i]be[/i] that new person- why do they have to know you are also so-and-so?

Be anonymous. Be so anonymous that you even have a separate forum account that is its own entity also.

I'm sure some are already doing things like this, but it seems the more well-known players are more keen on advertising the fact that they have yet again created someone new to the very heavens themselves instead of getting into a role, picking a path, and letting others around you respond to [i]that[/i] new entity instead of according to their preconceptions of a previous incarnation that may or may not still walk the land.

Carrying biases over from one account to another is also extremely counter productive, I think. Unless, of course, your plan is to go to the ultimate extreme with it. Another problem is creating a new entity that is naturally at odds with your main/original character. If you create someone new, they should most likely not cross paths at all in any sense, and yes I think that's possible- it would be one of the challenges of playing a new role.

However, in the end, what I really think should happen is this: There should be no alts/seconds/thirds. You are yourself as you enter into MagicDuel, and you decide where you go and what you do and when you do it. When you want to try something totally new, do you, in real life, get to shed your skin and step into a new one just so you don't lose what you already have? No. You decide if the new thing, whatever it is, is really worth it, and you [i]make sacrifices[/i] to go a new way. This, I feel, is what gives a person, a character, depth and history that is vital to a long-surviving realm such as this. If everyone just creates a new account whenever they want to try this or that out, we are merely left with a land full of shallow, one-dimensional entities that are unable to be learned from without them crossing lines and using knowledge from another account to aide and abet another one.

Child bearing, in any other setting, could work, I think. But in MD, we are all technically man-made entities within a cube that have somehow garnered a mind of our own, so how can something unnatural commit something so natural as conceiving and giving birth? I think it goes against the ethics and mechanics of the place to be able to cause something like that. Love is possible as you find other entities like unto yourself. Marriage, sure. But I don't feel that, here, you can create something organic from that which is inorganic, unless of course such a thing is yet another mystery in this great land.

The irony, Mya, is that all these things were done before everything went downhill. It was Jester's severe lack of follow-through and inactivity in the land that caused such widespread frustration.


As for the new rules feature, I think it has potential- not just to make things clear and referenceable, but also as something that will probably become an open record of the land as rules are created as a result of certain events, thus giving it an historical context.

I do not want to step on anyone's toes, but Aysun started this and now after months of inactivity on it her original thread is closed.

I do not know what Aysun did or didn't submit, what she did or didn't acquire - but I intend to complete what has been left unfinished.

Aysun - if you want to contact me to get this finished, please do so...as I have stated to you previously. If you can head it up again, all the better.

Everyone else - this is everyone's project, I'm just making this thread for the sake of saying what I intend and hopefully then anyone with input can contact me just so we have a hub. I don't know about anyone else but I want to see it finished, and someone has to get off their butt and make it happen, so it might as well be me.

As might have noticed we are all seeking a common goal.

We started to run and hide just because of the few

any kind of ritual, either wins or for mere balance. Be
Win XP with or without. Be rituals to lose XP.

All we would winning if you come to the [color="#00BFFF"]*party*[/color] and say what is in need.
All Online players could use a defense that would help you with
wins / xp for your angiens only if you set them in [color="#00BFFF"]*target dying*[/color] and use some life stealer for XP.

And the only PM I send to you before, was to try see if you can start some kind of common point of agreement and friendship.

My main goal is not to give you 1m personal experience a fight (your only getting 500-600k at a time, not 1m). If that was what i was trying to achieve then I would be using my angien/max bird ritual instead of my drach/angien ritual. The drachs are meant to wipe out your tree before my angien could get a hit on it. You started to use regen rits that lasted through my drach attacks which is why you were getting that high amount of experience.

I just cant believe that all the replyers dont know the diference between creature xp in a fight, AND ONLY personal xp given trough angiens after being crushed and any creature survive the battle to get any of it.

What Chewett said +1, especially in the case of nominations.

But also in the case of awards now that I think of it. There are too many that are similar, when you look at who were the winners. Perhaps it would be better to make previous winners no longer eligible for future awards in the same category, for certain categories, much like the fossil category.

Certain groups have "in" voting, where they pick who they want to win and thus that person has a much greater chance.

Popularity contest

Nominations leave out some quite obvious candidates that should have been there, just because of their shyness.

Nominations had many candidates in some catagories, giving a greater effect to point 1

some categories not properly defined, Meaning quite different opinions of what they are actually voting for.

Im sure i can think of more reasons why MD awards are pointless, But good work to the people who organised it this year.

My oh my, somebody's found a loophole in the code. The whole point of Rebel status is so that rebels may maintain citizenship while protesting the king- finding a way around that isn't going to help you. It's only going to reinstate our status and close up the hole. Thanks for finding it, though.

I believe if there is to be a formal inquiry into the matter that it will have to be proposed to the council since it will deal with rather important things.

Also, simply because the rebels do not approve of you as king does not make them any less loyal to the land- You are not Necrovion, Jester. Therefore preventing access to the resources of the land to rebels who oppose you not only hurts the land but is unnecessary punishment against the rebels for simply not liking you.

This is the most immediate clause I can find regarding unnecessary rebel abuse. The king's rebel queller is there to serve the purpose of thwarting the rebels- cutting them out of things such as quests is unnecessary and could be considered unnecessary abuse against those who fight for a larger issue at hand. Therefore, I ask the quest maker to reconsider on this basis.


Also, Jester, last time I looked at the rules of Necrovion, there weren't any, so I have no idea where you are claiming such a thing- besides the fact that you cannot possibly stop any of us from making quests if we choose to do so.

AGAIN since Jester is intent on deleting my posts (which you also so kindly admitted to do in game- thank you, it made a lovely screen cap): Jester, if you wish to make this an official policy, put it into the official land rules in game. I do not see why this is such a difficult request. Until then, anyone excluding rebels from quests will be seen to be doing it out of personal preference and not an order of the king.

Miso is EXTREMELY healthy- it can help prevent cancer even! So, try this simple soup out. You've probably had it before!



Japanese miso soup:

[u]Ingredients[/u]
White miso paste obtainable from any and all asian markets
chives (preferably japanese leeks sliced into thin rings if you can get them)
medium tofu ([size="1"]prolly cheaper bought at said asian market- organic is 99¢ at mine compared to $6 organic at the standard grocery store [/size])
3/4 cup of boiling water

Optional: wet seaweed



Begin by putting water on to boil- or just filling a measuring cup with 3/4 cup of water and putting it in the microwave for 3 minutes.

Take out a small bowl that you will take the soup from and put about two generous (not monstrous, mind you) spoonfuls of miso paste directly into the bowl.

Take the whole, washed chives/japanese leeks and slice them thinly to a quantity that suits your own tastes.

Take the tofu out of the package and put it sideways to cut from the short side a half inch thick slice from the tofu. Cut this slice into cubes in sizes and shapes of your choosing.

Remove the boiled water from the stove/microwave, and pour about 3/4 of a cup of the water directly into the bowl containing the two spoonfuls of miso paste. (if you put too much paste in, you might have to add more water)

Add tofu and chives/leeks to the bowl and stir together, making sure the paste has dissolved well into the hot water.

Allow to cool for about a minute or so before drinking. The paste elements WILL settle in the bowl between sips, so be sure to stir before you drink.



Notes:
When storing the remaining tofu, when you cut the package, you can drain the liquid into the tupperware that you intend to store the tofu in to keep it fresh.

Japanese leeks are hard to get ahold of, and they are very different from regular leeks. So, if you cannot find japanese negi, chives will work just fine.

I highly suggest using white (白）miso instead of red（赤）miso for miso soup. White miso and red miso look identical, so you'll have to be mindful of packaging when you buy it- miso paste is very cheap. You cannot make miso paste yourself unless you are a 100 year old japanese great grandmother who lives in the country, so buying it is the only option, even in japan.

If you use wet seaweed (which will come packaged wet), just take a pinch of it and put it directly into the soup if you use it. You should probably dry off the excess packaging juice before you put it into the soup itself.

You can always add other things to miso soup- what I've listed here is what's traditionally in it. However, there's no rule stating you can't add anything else, and often times in japan they do add other things, such as mushrooms, sweet fried tofu, and other things as different styles of miso.
