Azrafar reacted to DARK DEMON in Center of the Labyrinth
The exact answer to this is... 6_0x-0.5_1.

Many of the participants actually got this from the midpoint formula (or were close), but didn't give importance to it and never submitted it! :))

In truth, this is a major concept about the Labyrinth: its center coordinates are broken, i.e the only one which is not a whole number. It could only exist if you imagined and believed it to exist.

However, if you consider the Labyrinth as a rectangular mirror, and the center as the initial point where the "glass" breaks, the proof of its effect is visible and does exist physically (yes, you can see it if you come to the Labyrinth with this intention, and not the intention of "not getting lost" :P). You will get lost. You must be willing to get lost. If you draw a map, its even more so obvious, provided that you look at it from the correct perspective.

The Labyrinth will never give you what you expect from it. And what is unique about it is that those who actually realize this will not be surprised. Even then, expecting the unexpected is not enough. To truly understand it, you must enjoy doing so, and then it becomes a really simple matter. But managing to do this is not simple at all.

I'll be making more topics in the future, regarding the Labyrinth's association with the mind and the Void. Those may fill up more gaps as to how understand its secrets and concepts.

Everyone believes that DD and dst are fighting one and other just to prove who's right and who's wrong. False.

dst isn't trying to break DD. The truth is, it's all an elaborate scheme thought up by Mur. DD and dst are actually best friends, and are filling up the forum with flame wars to test the patience of every member. So the role of trying to break people in fact belongs to the pair of them.

    We will hang in there!

    (Edit)

Plot depth: No one was the first to break, by picking a side. :p

Azrafar reacted to Myth in You know you've been on MD too much when...
You're at work (or home, or anywhere with a toilet, really) and you REALLY need to go.
You get there and think "thank goodness no one is in there".
You then stop for a few seconds to imagine what you'd have done if No one *actually was* in there.
You dismiss the thought after some time, allowing normality to slowly creep back in: "What the *beep*?"

(edit - no thrashing, it actually happened... as in, 1 hour ago :p)

    No, because

    1) They either contain huge spoilers
    2) They contain info which the participants may not want revealed
    3) They were long conversations with replies from me containing hints

Like I said, I will however, post my own "theory".

Well... you are free to do so, Myth, but I still think it would be wrong and maybe unfair to post them in public due to above stated reasons.

Edit: yes I can post the scores if the participants do not mind... :P

Participants, please PM me whether or not you mind your scores being revealed. If more than 4 say "yes", then I will.

    Results! Finaly!  :))

    My first gold coin, yey!

On the subject of transparency. It would be good to see the scores of all participants. Send the submissions to Mur but only if he has time to look at them.
If you are curious about my submission you can ask me to share it with you. Also I wait to see DD's theory.
How ever I am reluctant to share my submission with cretain people I see as biased. I just don't feel confortable being judged by them. So don't make them public if not necessary.

Edit: About posting scores. Would it be ok, to post the partial scores too? Like x (a,e,i)
Becasue "impressiveness" is subjective to some extent, and we can see who was closest to the answer and who had a good reasoning even if the answer was not that close.

And now for the judging criteria which was asked for at the start of the quest. Each participant was judged in a points system, out of 20. There were 3 categories:

    1) The answer --- how close the participant was to finding out the correct coordinates, including evidence to support it --- max. 5 points
    2) The explanation --- how well the participant explained their reasoning, both "physically" and "symbolically" --- max. 10 points
    3) Impressiveness --- any participant that managed to greatly impress me in any way would score higher in this category --- max. 5 points
    _________________________________________________________

I will also be writing another post here with the correct answer+explanation later in the day because I am busy at the moment :P

Rewards will be distributed by Mur, but just in case if you are accidentally forgotten, please inform me asap. Thank you all again! It was a very interesting and enlightening experience for me, and hopefully for all of you too :)

But it didn't happen that way.
If you want to go into "what if"s then what would have happened if the ghost couldn't be passed when someone got february there? All those who are not as "resourceful" as you would be stuck at the last obelisk. Imagine players standing there, waiting for it to be fixed, to claim the final obelisk. DD may have acted too hastily, but I don't think it actualy damaged the quest. It could have but it didn't. I think we all can learn from this incident, but there is no need for the blame game.

I didn't say they had to know it was a bug, but it was admittedly not the intended way how they passed. It still makes their complaints seem less valid.

I accept that MD isn't fair, but dst who didn't play fair shouldn't complain about fairness. Also you say I should deal with the unfair nature of the game, fine, but then why shouldn't dst? She complained about fairness in the first place even when she won, becouse of "what if" reasoning.

I know it is a trial run, that is why I don't understand the (over)recation.

Ok, dst, have you actualy brought february there and tried to pass the ghost the right way? (asuming it worked the same way, like the other ghost I ran into)

I know I was trapped by Aeo's ghost with Aeo him self being there.

If you just went and passed the non intended way, then there should be no reason for you complaining about fairness.

I have a distinct feeling you are just complaining to make drama (involving DD ofc). Please stop it. When I come to the forums I don't want to see these hate threads you make.
