This will probably be attacked since I don't know exactly what I am talking about with this but... Doesn't people get to "steal" stats, like with Eon, because they BUY the right with certain tokens from the Shop? That is just what I was under the impression of, in which case I don't see it changing because it is helping to run the game you are playing. You can't run a game like this for free. And with all the time and effort all the coding and ect takes, they deserve all the money they get from items bought.

And if it is just certain creatures that are used for the special purpose of attacking, then you are asking for a ton of coding to change it because you are losing to other players. I really hate when my stats are stolen in this way, but you can't ask someone to change the way they made their game because you are losing in it. Maybe instead you could try getting whatever tokens or creatures are used to "steal" stats and try to join the club rather than fight against it?

Edit to add: Thanks for the mass negative reputation for not agreeing with you and your opinions when I even stated I wasn't wholly sure I was even wrapping my thoughts wholly around what the topic was. You know, since I am kind of new and still learning the game mechanics and all. Really cute to just continuously negative counter my opinions to "shut me up" or run me from the forum I guess. That is awesome. Maybe at the top of the forum in big bold red letters you should state that you don't want people posting their opinions if the opinions go against yours. That might help a little.

Then I would say they -definitely- earned the right to do what they are doing. It doesn't mean I like mine being stolen any more than anyone else. Unless you are talking about something completely different to what I am thinking... But still. That seems to be a pretty big feat.

To be fair, any alternative must be accepted by three parties to be effective:
a) You, the one who made the suggestion
b) Eon, the one who the suggestion targets
c) The Council, the ones who will make this happen

Now, you're easy enough to convince, as you're the one making the suggestion. For the sake of argument, we'll say the Council would agree to anything as long as Eon did. Why would Eon accept this? His role is essentially a villain. It's not that he [b]doesn't care[/b] that you don't like him taking stats from you, he [b]wants[/b] you to not like him taking stats from you, same reason for his depleting of herbs. He wants to see people get frustrated with what he does because that's his decided role and he plays it well enough to cause things like this. When I see people posting angry stuff in Eon's PL, I laugh because that's what he wants. So basically, you have two options: Convince Eon that double stats is better than playing his role, or come up with another idea. As for defense only, I don't see that happening ever. Nobody attacks Eon, so that would make the ability useless, but then that's what you want, isn't it? To be acceptable, your suggestion must be fair, and defense only is not fair.

Edit: For arguments' sake, Eon's attacks generally take away 0.24 of each stat (which stats depends on certain aspects of the fight, most common for me is all). Without heat, you get 0.08 stat points in however many stats (again depending on these aspects), meaning that without using heat it takes 3 fights to get that much back, best case scenario. How hard is it to ask a friend to go somewhere out of the way and trade attacks for an hour?

We need to stop us, first complaint about getting much loses players said i cant i dont know all are too strong, the solution was GGG, then no thats a bad place no body learns how to fight bla bla bla, role play players dont care much .....

if you really want to avoid Eon skill damage if you really are tired about lose stats, because you work hard for they...

Set a decent number of players train their abilities stop complaining and act, do something.

now we have spells more easy to get some got nicely creats but dont want bad honor dont want to lose and really is to hard to set some players in one remote place and train and if Eon get there, cast and cast and cast and cast spell on He, she, it?

if people train together will learn about fighting, hey ask or just reading

no more complains DO something!!!!

He she it is a super trainer that only wants more but we have the tools to stop him in game magic creats remote places or what Eon unlock all the areas ... no, so come on people want to train want to up creats just meet in a place and do it....

help players to be ballanced if you cant hit they, teach how ..............

Loreroot, Necrovion, and GG all have places that are extremely hard to get access to (I won't name them) and it is almost certain Eon doesn't have access to any of them. Marind Bell has at least one place like that as well (although, in this case I am thinking of Angien Shrine, so since we don't want a repeat of the Lair incident, better to be careful about that) that Eon almost definetly doesn't have access to.

If you really have that much difficulty with Eon's Skill Damage then train in one of those places he can't go.

Although, bear in mind they have such restricted access for good reasons, so don't make the same mistake as last time when choosing such a training location :P

To help a non experience player to understand the problem
is it possible to get some info as to tel or is it a spoiler that cannot be told?

- is that hability subject of this thread, as can make someone not only with lower stats, but with negative stats?

- and if its stealing stats, is not someone using it would rapidely attain the cap for his own stats , and then should it not stop the stealing possibiliti?

and are you talking about?
- Regeneration, Energetic immunity,Trade sense,Briskness,Initiative,Defence, Attack, Power, Luck
and or the principles of magic?
and or the maximum :Vital Energy,Value Points,Action Points

Note: and correct me if i am wrong, i understand that the damage is not temprorary, its permanent if someone do not act to regain what i lost?

This is a popular topic for many reasons, and it's been made a topic many times. I'm pretty sure Eon as well as other people who have "Stat Damage" giving abilities will never have those abilities taken away from them, they were earned and they have a right to have them. It really sucks to have your stats drained, but alas they are recoverable. I remember Mur saying that we have the ability if enough players are [b][color=#ff0000][i]united, planned and come together as a whole, [/i][/color][/b]to severally punish Eon. But it would have to be many of us using strategy to accomplish.

It does not need to be a hidden training group. I've trained quite a bit a while back with Eon on the same scene as I was, attacking me every cooldown. I was still gaining stats really quickly instead of losing them. If 4-5 people are training together in the same scene, the amount of stat gained would far offset the amount lost (and even Eon often puts trees for the def rit, which makes things even easier).

Precisely. If we work together it's not that difficult to A) prevent/recover from skilldamage and B) give skilldamage to Eon.

I think that while skilldamage is annoying, its presence is ultimately a good thing for the game. It makes people work together.

umm folks, the longer than i play md, there was always at least one player (usually strongest) who had skilldmg, before they were usually mp1s, just remember wodin, thing is they werent villains and they acted friendly, so nobody complained, however times changed, and nuw we have villain with skilldmg

obviously its nut problem in skilldmg, but rather who is usin it and how, which in return means that whole community cant stagnate and act like they always did, yoar habbits and ways to handle situation have to change too, ya got enough tools imo, nuw work on how to use them most efficently and how to act in accordin to the current situation, seriously this situation havent changed for whole year nuw, its most likely that community failed to adopt in accordance with it

I agree with Lib, and the others, who say the community should redevelop it's ways of cooperation.

But a fact is that MD became less populated, at least the areas where most vets used to hang out. Now even in Sanctuaries the grass is growing faster.

Some have issues like work, timeline, personal life and such. Or just have decided, that all the stats gained so far are good enough for them and their role, so hanging around with few dozens of trees or priests is not harming anybody. But now we have to do everything in our powers just to kill all the crits, so we can be able to continue undisturbed with the others goals we have in MD.

On the other side comes Eon. I will never go and argue whether his reward is good or bad - Mur has decided that the trophy should be like this, Eon went for it and got it. I know what should be done, but sometimes many more issues come and prevent me and others from the ability to do it.

Sadly, as I juggle with all the options, I came no close to finding an answer, simply because there are too many people involved in this.

But, to repeat myself, Eon's ability is his to be used as he pleases, and we shouldn't come near the thought that it could be altered in any way.

I am happy to see that most of the players have come to their senses: skill damage is what it is and should not be removed because "MD is losing players because of it". During the years I have heared this line from lots of players and for lots of reasons (hell! even I was accused I drive players off) but the common ground was pure selfishness. Let's be honest: 98% of the MD players don't care about others or the game. They only see their own interest. In your case, Spartiatis, Eon's skill damage is "preventing" you from fighting the way you want (amount, frequency, etc).

You have the tools, you have the numbers, you should be fine without removing something that was GAINED FAIR and SQUARE.
