Suggestion on making being dead more fun

From what i understand of being dead, it dont seem much fun to be.
I understand that one cant move from his corps.

So i suggest still being in role playing to make it more fun.

That the one being dead, be a ghost with the ability to still move from his corps. Moving from his corps would be starting a counter For 1 hour free moving, and then teleport back to his corps, and then a cool down timer of 18 hours where he is prevented of moving.

[b]Note[/b]: if the idea is taken, the moving time limit and the cooldown limit can be adjusted to what is tought of being best (my number being there only to illustrate the concept)
[b]Note[/b]: and i would make it that the moving is not subject of viscosity, the ghost being imaterial

I like this idea. If bound to one location people won't be able to RP nearly as much. If a person is RPing being dead, they are probably doing so as a ghost rather than a corpse, so they should be able to move around a bit.

The part of beign death should unleash some sort of quest or journey of the "spirit" to recover his/her life.

So in Other words death should unleash a quest to the player. If he/she manage to solve some sort of quest he gets his life automatically. If not he/she would have to wait for other things to happen.

Sounds like some basic predetermined path... aka not what MD is

MD isnt normal, it doesnt follow conventions, if the simply way is "do this, you become alive" thats boring and average...

Doesn't have to be normal.

Can be customized

It's the great part of quests and such. Boring IS to just be dead (for the people that doen't do anything more), I guess... XD

Maybe it'd work out with some sort of reaper-role, like dream-control. If you die, the reaper seeks you out and tests you, if you win you live, if you lose you stay dead and start to rot, something like all creatures lose one level, stats get reduced, principles get lost...

Idea: The spirit starts drifting around randomly (or in some logical relation to heat veins). The spirit can use all ap to move one scene back towards the corpse like in TC.

If the spirit manages to stay with the corpse for long enough (credit it like a heat jar) then the player comes back to life. Material beings can help (think seances and what we are doing now with heat jars).

On the other hand, a spirit poorly attended will get "lost" from it's body and really have troubles.

Teleport etc would work on the corpse, not the spirit, so mischief-makers could try to hide the body from the spirit.

Just going to say - I think it'd be a great idea for a player to be in control of resurrections. The items are great and all, but there should be a harder, questier way. Maybe somewhat like the birthday. Death is fun.

And since I don't ever move and am sitting on top of a huge mound of Wiiya, which is gaseous identity anyways, I'd be more than willing to be a signpost for those poor dead folk.

I'd rather see features developed that where only available to people who where dead.

All game stages have defining characteristics, even Jail has a high RP value.

Given we now have reasonably accessibly resurrection tools, it would be interesting to develop thematic abilities for the dead. Not necessarily all desirable tools, but certainly some meaningful ones.

Still, not much internet available for me so I'll leave brainstorming to you mob.

I quite like Fryd's idea with an amendment, that as the spirit is away from their body, the player should slowly loose principle points and personal heat tolerance (maybe stat loss as well). When the player has reached 0 principle points in a particular principle and the heat cap for a lower MP level than their current, the player could have the option to drop to that MP level by sacrificing something of value (WP, 20GC, a level 5+ creature or large stat loss; more for greater drop in MP).

This would allow MP levels to become more dynamic, without the problems of a character having too much heat for that MP level or too many principles. It would also allow MP2 to be reached once more. I am not sure whether MP1 or MP0 are to fit in, whether the player should be able to reach them at all. This idea will probably have to be rethought when MP6 is redeveloped and if MPs7-9 are ever to come into play (again).

When a player, after dropping MP, reaches the max heat tolerance, they should be able to jump back up one level with (one) principle they lost being reinstated as 0.
