MRWander Posted February 9, 2016 Report Posted February 9, 2016 I talked about it with a couple people and they seemed interested in the idea of having a different avy showing when you are idle. Maybe a new item for the featured shop and you would have to own two avys for it to work being able to choose which one showed when you were idle Fang Archbane, Kyphis the Bard, Blackwoodforest and 1 other 3 1 Quote
Fang Archbane Posted February 9, 2016 Report Posted February 9, 2016 Id support this idea. Seems interesting. Ars Alchemy 1 Quote
Aeoshattr Posted February 9, 2016 Report Posted February 9, 2016 I think I suggested something similar here (shameless plug) for the tags interface. I'm not against this idea, I sort of like it, but I think it would be a lot more feasible if this was something standardized, like the goldening of avys. So all 'idle' avatars would share the same style and can be made from the existing avatar. I reckon that makes the idea more approachable? I dunno. Quote
MRWander Posted February 9, 2016 Author Report Posted February 9, 2016 Sorta but I got the idea when I saw jubba's new avy and thought the old one would be perfect for when he's idle/sleeping seeing how the older avy is wrapped up in the wings almost like its sleeping Quote
Root Admin Chewett Posted February 9, 2016 Root Admin Report Posted February 9, 2016 Would it be a little bit of a disjoint to have avatars which are different "people/things" when idling/normal?People associate people to avatars. Aethon, lashtal and Rophs 3 Quote
MRWander Posted February 10, 2016 Author Report Posted February 10, 2016 Its their choice. i personally would probably commmision a new avi for idling that would correspond to the one i already have Quote

Simple example is forum avatars, people learn to not read the names but associate the picture to a name. It would be highly confusing if someone had the same forum avatar. I see many people commissioning a set of avatars for this feature or aeo's Kyphis the Bard and Aethon 2 Quote
MRWander Posted February 10, 2016 Author Report Posted February 10, 2016 so we get to be limited by the imagination and association ability of others? Quote

This feature does to a certain extent already exist, although you need to be willing to spend the credits to change your avatar regularly. It's certainly an idea I think is worth exploring. Quote

For my idea, however, you would be limited to the number of tags you have (which I can't imagine is more than 2 for the majority of MD?), since you can only associate 1 avy with 1 tag. Quote
Root Admin Chewett Posted January 10, 2017 Root Admin Report Posted January 10, 2017 I'm still not convinced and unless people really care I will close this idea Quote
