A big thank you from my side goes to all those who will make quests and who organized the following 9 days. Additional words of thanks goes to all those who are still active in the realm participating and spending time in the most interesting and deep realm in the whole "internet-universe".

I want to tell you a story
'Bout a sleepless man, if I can

His tale untold, for you to unfold...
 
On day 103 (Mon Apr 14), I will use your help to unravel a mystery...
The event will take place in chat, at the Howling Gates, starting at 10.30 s.t. and lasting until someone solves it (depending on the participation, this may take a few hours to a few days).
 
I will read 3 small excerpts from a tale (its beginning, a middle part and its ending) and you'll have to figure out what happened in between said parts. 
You can ask me (in chat, all PMs will be ignored) any and as many questions as you like, to which I can only answer 'yes', 'no' or 'irrelevant'. Note: I must answer all the questions and I can't lie.
 
The 3 excerpts will also be disclosed on this thread for reference, together with the most interesting/relevant questions.
Therefore, even if you can't be there at the beginning of the event, you should be able to catch up.
 
Scoring and winners:
 
The first one figuring out the whole story will have to state it in chat to be declared winner (1st place).
You obviously don't have to write a novel, a brief summary will do it (the whole tale can be summed up in 2-3 lines).
 
Besides that, you can contribute to the solution by asking significant/meaningful questions.
I will in fact assign 1 point for each and every question leading to a key/turning point.
Said points will define the scoring for those placed from 2nd to 5th.

Last year Murry ran out of time to make all 3 levels so he only made the first. Between now and then the source files were lost on his computer due some bad things (and they werent uploaded to the server like they should have :P). He is attempting to recover them and more information will be given later when we know whats happening.

He owes me one more colouring of a creature (once i do some MDA work for him) so im hoping we can get the second level done.

You have the ability to give both positive and negative reputation on this forum. This is to be purely used to indicate your approval or disapproval of ideas and posts.

It should not be used as a petty weapon against someone. Reputation spamming is the repeated downvoting of a persons posts systematically.

MRAlyon has been warned against doing this, but continued to do so. I am exceptionally disappointed that he has continued to spam members on the forum just because he dislikes them. He even went as far to read the warnings and requests for the reasons of his reputation spamming. A LHO should know better than this and to act better but he did not and this is poor

Hopefully from this we will be able to move forward as a community and accept that these petty squabbles do not help MD. Reputation is an arbitrary number and if you think reducing the value make you feel better than you are a very petty person.

Hello and welcome to the first Y9 Anniversary Quest from the MDA!
 
Your task is to write two reports on the various events occurring over the anniversary - One a factual report, and one in a creative writing style of your choice (poem, first person narrative, meme pics, etc).
You may enter as many entries as you like in either category, but to compete you must enter at least once in both.
Entries can be submitted however you wish (except in-game chat, haha), but Forum PM is the best method.
 
As this quest spans the entire Anniversary from start to finish, you will have until Day 115 begins to get your entries in. Chewett has suggested this quest continue for the time being. For now, there is no timelimit, however it will not run forever. The quest is now concluded.
 
Judging criteria is as follows:
Accuracy - did the events described happen? Well Written - grammar, spelling, paragraph breaks, etc Engaging - how well it grabs our attention, is it funny, is it exciting, etc Length - is it a suitable length for a newspaper article? Too short/long? Three winners are going to be chosen from each category. You may not win a category twice, but you can win both the Factual Report and Creative Writing categories.
 
Lastly, after the Anniversary ends, participants will be asked if they want their entries used in a new edition of the Golden Globe Gazette.
