I get what its there for, but on the flip side if an LHO did say so, and there is evidence of it, then what? Then they both get done according to this. Ignorance of the law? If you consult a lawyer or a police agent about the law you expect correct information, if you get false information you sue - if that's a better scenario for you, no problem.

This quest will run for a month minium. You need to create a gallery of photos you have taken in real life of locations that are your version of MD locations. This can be a forum gallery or an off-site gallery you link to. All photos need to have MD somewhere in the photo - so either hold a bit of paper with it on or put it in stones on the ground or whatever you want. So as an example: There is a building in a garden near me that looks like the house of tainted times, I would take a photo of that. All galleries MUST contain one example of 'your Bob' to be considered for reward. The winner will be the one who makes the most well transposed photos (not the most photos), transposition in this case is not just about how it looks (though this is of course important too) so your image description/subject information will also be important. There will be a panel of judges. Rewards pending number of participants. Please post gallery links here, if you want to bump when you add things or post individual images when you are adding them then please do so but do bear in mind forum requirements and not spamming the thread. LHOs are arguably the most official and responsible people in MD. They have a very special status and are tasked with helping and knowing. Part of helping, is knowing. Even though I have played MD for years, I would still expect an LHO to be able to support me where my gaps are - and if they werent 100%? to say so or find out. I think it's cheapening them to add that caveat, not to mention alleviating them of what is, imo, part of what they are there for. If an LHO gives a player advice, it should be right or they shouldnt be giving it - otherwise they might as well not be LHOs. Z

If an LHO says something is allowed yet it is rule-breaking, both the LHO and the criminal will get punished That seems harsh. Some new player goes to an LHO for advice and gets busted? Fair enough if someone is trying to screw an LHO, but generally? I think that's well harsh. Z

Aside from the jibe at the Caretakers I like Pip's idea about something specific to the alliance (also agree about finesse), and I also think it would be cool to do what Change says and have alliances able to defend other alliances or something like that. Could that be done via an altered form of the guardian spell? I see that as more symbolic though to stop them getting bashed or harrassed or something rather than anything to do with take-overs. Sidenote - There is a big difference between Greenpeace and the various protest events they take part in. If it was nothing but the gathering and scattering of a group you couldnt take the badge anyway because as soon as the group is scattered it doesnt exist anymore to be taken. Z

If tags work like the ones given to lands now with those special tags (dont ask me what they are called i cant remember) then take something like the Eon thing in Loreroot - the woodcutters could strategically gather at once to level the resource and have the market advantage before Eon has the chance to get there or to get more than one or two chops etc. Then by doing that they could control someone like Eon. With the Bob stuff, if I could sub-tag guardians then on a chop the whole 'flash mob' idea sounds appealing. Z

Personally I don't think that alliances that came about because of someone's efforts and what they did should just be handed to random people because the idea is cool and people like it. If someone starts 'being' that alliance then fine, but I have literally never seen that once. Im talking about things like DS right now. I answer your question with a question: Why should alliances that are not based on fighting and were not formed by fighting be ruled and governed by fighting? On one hand its too simple, it takes nothing into account of what the alliance is or what the ruler should represent- ie for example, if you put a big bad bull-dog at the head of my alliance, it would totally dismantle the reason it exists in the first place. On the other, its just sheer lazy stupidity to leave it like that. Same with gathering ones, why should fighters rule them? It makes, literally, no sense. Z

I've always hated the way the alliance system works and I don't agree with you Eon (see other main thread) - why should loyalty and fighting control alliances that have little if nothing to do with that? I've always thought its stupid. I do want to know what the different things are though because while I welcome a change to the system, I would be very against some sort of new loyalty based system or something where alliances are more like property to war over, which is kind of what that sounds like. Z
