2.
What about adding weight to items? and X weight makes you use more Ap each move? I personally like the land markets too
Oooooooo That's a brilliant idea! Make it harder to move around when you have (non-coin) items. Cheers, Cutler
 3. The only reason I am posting this is because I truly don't understand why MD seems to be heading more and more towards being all about punishment and trying to catch people doing bad things. Surely Mur set the tone with the Festival of Pain, but is this really the direction we the people (I speak for everyone who thinks this is a sad direction for MD to go) want to support MD to head. I know this is not what interests me at all in MD but I basically try to ignore all the c**p. There are so many positive and interesting things going on in MD. Even if this tone is mainly being set by veterans and people with longstanding dislikes of each other, you should realize that there might be a few new people around. Why would they stay if they can't respect the people who are here? Not everyone in MD is as petty and small minded as these squabbles make it seem. It's just a shame I have to keep reminding myself of that. So I am going to keep on doing my thing and try to ignore this sad direction MD seems to moving. Not much Cheer here, Cutler
 4. I recently sold several properties in the astral plane and the new owners have been getting some amazing artwork drawn for their homes. I have also had a few images drawn as generic rooms/corridors/common rooms for people to be able to add to their homes, in addition to some new MD scenes like the new astral lookout on the top of Mt. Kelle'tha. I am looking for MD artists who are interested in drawing some scenes with me and possibly some for the people who recently bought houses in the astral plane. I can pay in Gold and Silver, creatures, services or something more creative if that interests you. Please PM me here or in game (I usually hang out in the Paper Cabin) and I am both interested in contracting more images as well being as able to get some artists / artisans connected. Cheers, Cutler PS If you have a sample of an MD style scene you have drawn that would be great for me to see. I have probably 20 images I would like drawn over the next few months and it would be great if I don't burn out the several artists working with me already.
 5.
aaaaaaaaawwww *hughs alec and his wife* i feel for you both but dont lose hoop i know it sounds weak but i mean it.
I know how you are feeling, the spontaneous abortion (what a horrible term) rate for first pregnancies has actually been reported to be higher than 60% before the 10th week. After the 10th week if this hasn't happened the rate drops dramatically to a mere 25%. Once you reach the 20th-22nd week the published rates drop again to less than 10%. This is why after 22 weeks it is called still born. After a woman has been pregnant once all of these rates drop dramatically (but ymmv). Fortunately, this really painful reality of getting pregnant doesn't affect the chance of future pregnancies. I too learned the hard way that it is best to follow the general advice and not tell anyone about the pregnancy until at least the 12th week. I hope you and your girlfriend are ok and maybe realizing that this is a fairly common occurence will give some solace but most likely not, nothing really helped me when this happened to us. If you really do want to have a baby, take a month off and focus on other things like the two of you. Best Wishes, Cutler
 6. Bids have been updated. Also the background image in the house has been replaced by an interior view (MD style windowbox). This should give a much better feel for what the final property will be like. I have also set an astral plane link in the paper cabin attic stairs cord (in my puzzle arcade link) which opens up at RavenHold. Take a look at the new amazing background. Cheers, Cutler
 7.
Several people have asked about expanding the main house location to more than one interior scene. I had to think about a way to do this, but that should be possible for an additional fixed price per location. (It actually takes a fair amount of effort to set up each location). I was thinking a fixed flat rate of 10 silver per additional room seemed like a fair amount and extra locations could be added later if you wanted to expand your house (or have a new baby and needed more room - I fully understand this reason). Some ideas for rooms: A) Entrance Doorway - This location could have a door bell for people who are visiting to ring. I could integrate a small light (ie deaf doorbell) in the interior rooms to turn on when a visitor arrived and access could be granted by clicking it to let the person visiting enter. Other arrangement of rooms - living room, bedroom, window box view, private garden with connections between then as requested by the owner (and whoever draws the images) and a possible link into the "house" chat from each location. For the additional locations (images provided by owner) I could also put in interactive clickables with unique properties (negotiable on a case by case basis). Cutler PS Bidding on these properties will end on Sun Jan 17 at 18:00 server time.
There are a few MD Artists currently working on house locations for people. Once the bid winners are set later this evening (MD time 18:00) we can discuss exactly how you would like your house set up and if you haven't talked with an artist I can direct you to one or two who are interested in helping draw the scenes. For those people who are bidding could you send me a list of the three house locations, and which one you ideally want (locations: top right, middle, bottom left). The first place winner will get their first choice, the second place winner will get either their first or second choice (depending on whether the first choice is the same as the bid winner) ... etc. Cheers, Cutler PS Bids have been updated
 8. I don't know if anybody who can actually make changes ever reads this section (Mur) but there is an addition to the user variables section which would be very useful to have and should be easy to implement if it isn't already there (maybe just undocumented). That is the user location uv('loc') which would return the Coordinates (ie: 1_-2x-1_2 for paper cabin study room) of the person running the script. This might seem pointless since the script is at a fixed location and the user has to run it from there, but for some quests with multiple clickable locations, it would make it much cleaner and easier to set up a single script that will run differently at several locations instead of making many different but similar scripts at different locations. (Which always ends up with errors and problems that have to go be debugged due to those small location changes.) This would really help make MDscripting more powerful and user friendly. Cutler

 10.
Im interested, but what good will these places do any good for a traveler like myself? Could you reveal a bit about the location and its specialities? I have long wanted a home somewhere other than out in the open by the Gates of Age.
Hi MRnegative6, I guess you have been gone for the last few months so you haven't seen the astral plane and what has been going on there. The astral plane can be entered by going to the talking rock at the GoE and clicking the enter astral plane link (there are other entrances but that is the main one). Once you are in the astral plane (which you will be able to tell due to the clickable colored locations), you can more around like normal but there are many new items to interact with and puzzles/quests to try. I have had several quests in the necro astral plane, as part of a 3D maze I set up in the house of tainted times, but there are other quests as well in GG, loreroot and soon MB and the archives as well. If you enter the astral plane at the Paper Cabin, I have it set up to start you deep in loreroot so you can walk over to RavenHold to view the properties I described above. Feel free to PM me in game if you have any more indepth questions about the astral plane of the properties. Cheers, Cutler
 11. The bids are being updated above, but I wanted to add the new ideas people have presented / requested here as well. 1) Several people are "item/money" poor but are interested or willing to draw images for new scenes as a form of payment. I am interested in these kinds of offers and have many scenes I would like to add to the astral plane. Also several wealthy people/groups would like to have backgrounds made for their home. If you PM me that you would like to draw images, I will be happy to help coordinate that with the bid winners and with me in the future. 2) Want the avatars of people visiting their house displayed in the house. This should be possible if a suitably sized interior background location is used. I can update the "main home room" this way if you request it. 3) Some people want to limit who can enter the house as well as the chat. I can put up a visitors list which the house owner can update so only the people they want to enter can enter both the house and the chat. 4) I can provide a teleport code to RavenHold from the Astral GoE to cut down on "commute" time. A similar link can be added to teleport back to the GoE from your house. Cutler
 12. There are the top four bids. 1. Bottom Left location - [Phantasm + Sagewoman] (property paid in full) 4 Gold + 5 silver + very old santa 2. Top Right location - [Gremlin] (property paid in full) 4 Gold + pimped grassan + joker 3. Middle location - [Grim Angel] (property paid in full) 2 very old jokers + 40 silver + (background artwork) 4. Top Location - (Rockistah) (paid 2 Gold + 5 Silver) 2 Gold + 5 Silver + 2 Imperial Aramors (Coins and items are worth more than creatures here. 1 Gold coin = 15 Silver coins) Cutler
 13.
What exactly are you "selling" these properties for? Are you asking for Gold Coins? How many "properties" do you have in the Astral Plane at Ravens Hold? I do hope you will show these properties. You know, like an Open House the Realtors do.
There are currently three properties for sale, I would accept Gold Coins or another form of currency including silver coins, items or even rare creatures, I am particularly interested in working with a buyer who wants to do something creative with their house. These three properties already have clickables in the astral plane enabled and can be visited although at present there are only for sale signs enabled on two of them. Ideally the person who wins the bid will provide a background image for what they want their house to look like. (MD style is best and several MD artisans could help draw one I am sure). I have added an "interior" (currently only a blown up image) for the upper right house as an example of what can be done. Also there is a for sale signpost outside this house which you can click to examine the private chat. Please also specify which of the three properties you would be interested in as your new home with your PM. Cheers, Cutler
 14. I am looking to sell several bungalow type properties in the Astral Plane at RavenHold the Capitol of Loreroot. Each property can be accessed within the astral plane and upon purchase can have an additional "interior" scene added using a background you provide (or have contracted to be drawn for you). You will also have your name permanently updated as the owner (further transfer of property is possible) at the entrance of your property for all to see. The basic property can also be upgraded with a private chat area within the house which would only admit people of the owners choosing. As a special bonus, it may also be possible to add a teleport location from the GoE in the astral plane to bypass the long walk within Loreroot for those of you living and working far away from RavenHold. (This it will significantly cut your commute time to and from home.) I am also open to possible additional suggestions / upgrades to your property (price negotiable). There are only a few such private properties so once they are sold a rare resource will be gone. PM me with offers in game and I will update the bidding here. Feel free to reply to this message if you have a suggestion or idea for the property and I will respond whether it will be possible to add. Cheers, Cutler
 15. Its down for me as well. Cutler
 16.
20 age, no tokens. Post your offers
I will take it off your hands for you, just send me the CTC. Cutler
 17. I very much enjoyed this quest, it had several different types of legs which required very different approaches to solve. Also BloodPrince was very quick to respond to PMs which made the quest proceed smoothly. Overall a well thought out nicely constructed Quest ! Cheers, Cutler
 18. One possibility (first suggested a loooong time ago) was to make the path to the left of Marind's Marble Stairs the entrance to the official dojo. There was even a background image which was contracted and made. For those who would like to see what it was supposed to look like, I have added the location in the MB astral plane. If you who don't know how to enter the astral plane, go to the gazebo of equilibrium, click the talking rock and choose the "enter the astral plane" link. Then just go to the Marind's Marble Stairs and go left. Cheers, Cutler

 21.
The same applies to many of my scripts, and clickables like the book of ancients, oak stories, hanging of mur etc. Having the option of making a clickable permanent would defeat the purpose of the auto-hide, who can justify their script being permanant without it having to be judged by Mur? I would rather have it auto-hide if the script's last use was 14 days ago, which in effect means nobody accessed in that time, of course "last use" needs to be more than merely viewing the clickable. I think allowing a cron to be implemented for each script would cause too much of a load on the server and be easily abuseable but perhaps scripts can get a global cron (hourly, maybe daily run?) that we can schedule to.
Yeah, I was thinking that a single daily run would be sufficient for most any normal "upkeeping". If timed events could be set for short time periods that could be abused. Limiting it to once or twice a day (I was thinking also only one script per person) would allow all of the benefits this kind of script can have and not be exploitable. If there were an "eternal" script, it would need to have a flag set by Mur which is for the most part never going to happen. Its just a shame that this made any kind of permanence in MD go away. Cutler
 22.
Ha! If nobody else is coming may we discuss the plan to take over the world?
I would love to come, but it is too far away to travel in the next few hours. Cutler
 23. The new "auto-hide" on all scripts after two weeks makes it almost impossible to make any clickable features that are enduring. Some of the quests I have made (Puzzle arcade and astral plane) are ones which I had envisioned being a permanent part of MD. There should be some way to make certain clickables "permanent". Another issue with script upkeep is doing "daily maintenance". I have some routines which need to run once a day or so but I have running every time people use some of my clickables. A really useful edition would be a timed clickable option which could be set to run at a particular time. This would help reduce the complexity of some scripts as well as reduce the load on the MD servers for doing "upkeep". Cutler
 24.
hmm, just a suggestion, cap mp3's vp to a minimum of 0 perhaps? as for mp4, they have exp cap of 4.2mil, so i think it's still recoverable pretty easy with helps from others. and since they've gone through mp3 to learn about the basic stuff, they should also learn how to avoid getting those huge negative vp somehow, or at least learn that when they break GGG's rule, they'll have to pay for it in a way or another.
I just made a suggestion in the "punish rednick forum" about making a stock to punish offending players. Putting people like wishing star and noob (and their alts/main accounts) in the stocks for a few weeks would help solve this problem as well. Cutler
 25.
I'm in favour of all over Cutler's suggestions. A mail() function would be great, perhaps limit it so that it can only mail the scripter, rather than giving the ability to mail anyone. I brought this up a while ago for both item and creature transfers. I would love a function that can do it. The question is how to prevent abuse, whether it is an intended abuse or not.
Yeah the mail function would be fine even if it only could go to the script author. Actually now that I think about it, I could use the post office to mail messages to myself from within my MDscripted quests .... I hadn't thought of that Of course that doesn't help anybody else do the same and this should be a simple built in function everybody can use. I can think of a lot of quests and events where it would be appropriate to sacrifice some AP/VP/exploring pts/heat etc. I said drain since there could be ways to abuse adding these types of values. But I think with a little bit of care it should be possible to make a "drain" only way to do it. A while back I was thinking about ways to link player stats into events but I couldn't think of a way to do that without totally making your stats available for all to see. That was one reason I settled on only testing principles. They are all capped so there is no real reason "size matters" and there are so many interesting quest / puzzle ideas which could be linked into your particular set of principles that this would open a whole new dimension of quests for MD. I really like the Willows shopkeeper quest and how it uses principles, and this type of quest idea could be made even more integrated into MD in some really cool ways. Cheers, Cutler
