  1. Statements may be posted now. Please do so ASAP. Failure to post a statement within 7 days will result in disqualification. Statements may be sent and confirmed via PM, after which I can post it here on your behalf.
  2. I'll try to show for both two, but the first one could be very late for me (4am at worst). The earlier the better, and I'd vote for 13:00 ST or earlier.

Please either PM me or post it here if you wish to make a public statement. Public statements can be made anonymously (via PM). There are almost no rule to what statement can be made, including those that demerit the credibility of a player. Please however, use your common sense to determine the appropriate boundaries
  4. This is the official thread for the co-operation and deception anniversary game. Pre-registration was here, and is now closed. To summarize: Each player is given a character/role card Each player goal is to deduct/guess other's role via any mean necessary Communication, alliance, betrayal, lies, etc. are encouraged Straight-up role sharing is not encouraged, each player is expected to try their hardest to win the game. I will not enforce this, but please keep it interesting and don't ruin the game for others Please keep the game self-contained (e.g no MD item/etc trading for info). Trading the final rewards you may obtain is encouraged however. But so does betraying that promise Each player, at the start of the game, is required to make three statements relevant to the game, rules detailed below Rule for statements: All statements must be relevant to the game One statement must be true, one statement must be false, and the final, can be either Each player statement must reflect their character knowledge at the start of the game. Any information you may have gained from others cannot be used Statements cannot be obviously true or false. Saying "I'm one of the characters listed" is illegal You must be able to identify the true and false statements that you gave, precisely. Stating a contradiction is fine, but you must be able to tell which is true or false (so no making statements which one must be true and one must be false, but you don't know which is which). The "either" statement does not have to follow this rule, so you can make one that you don't know if it's true or false. General role-related statements are allowed and encouraged (e.g My role commands great power). But they must be made in good faith, and cannot be contestable Making your statement cryptic is encouraged, but again, must be in good faith, and cannot be contestable Statements should be given ASAP. Failure to give your statement within the first 7 days will result in disqualification If you are unsure, feel free to send me a DM of your statements for opinions and approval Players (11 total): Aia Lashtal Ledah Steno Dark Demon Yokin/Tissy Ailith Sunfire Aelis Jakubhi Mirus Possible roles (14 total): Priestess Jester King Princess Peasant Knight Bishop General Servant Empress Queen Merchant Captain Footsoldier Note: The list of character was pre-determined, and roles were assigned via a random number generator. The roles were subjective, but the assignment was not. This is to avoid any possibility that you may try to reverse engineer my mind Reward: Due to the high probability of ties, the game shall operate on a "point" system. These points can be used to purchase your rewards at the end of the game. Points can be traded to other players freely, as part of agreements during games . Point trading also work on an honor system, and must be acknowledged by both parties at the end. Points: All participants will receive 3 points regardless of their placement All participants who deducted more than half will be rewarded an extra 2 points The rewards for the top players shall be as follow: 18 / 15 / 12 / 4 If multiple people draw for the top spot, the points that those positions gave out will be summed up and divided equally (e.g if 3-6th draw (12 + 4) / 4 = 4 each) Reward shop: Anni creature: 15 points - Traded points cannot be used (must won at least 15 points via the game). Special exceptions may be given in case of draws. Plushies: 1 point - Limit of 8 2 Silver coins: 1 point Ghost spellstone: 1 point - Limit of 2 Toadspeech spellstone: 1 point - Limit of 2 Acoustic remains spellstone: 1 point - Limit of 2 TBD
  5. I will be distributing the "character cards" now. Registration shall close in 2 days (1 day before the anni).
  6. Regarding an example, take Chew's recent coronation as one. There were many eye-witnesses, each with their own perspective, their own comment and their own observation. An ideal use-case for such a journal entry: One may list their own observation, what they saw and what they thought about the event. This loosely connected journals can be studied and shared by future archivists (should the writer decided to share it) to get a more unique perspective on the event, one that isn't simply what the limited words an announcement can portray. Such event may not find itself on personal pages, but I do believe it is important enough that many would consider freezing the moment on their own journal, frozen and unaltered in time for eternity
  7. I'd say that the journal/diary page be a more specialized page. Due to this nature, one could easily assume the purpose of such paper and give it features to make it more convenient. The core difference was listed already, though I'll make it a bullet-point to clarify it: Journals will not be editable past the day it was written Journals will have the date assigned automatically Journal entries can be listed on a long list, as multiple pages with their own title and the date it was written Journal entries can be marked with importance and category, making it easy to search/filter them I'd say, the key difference being like between a standard notebook and a diary, while one can use both the same way, there would be features unique to the diary that makes the process more streamlined and convenient.
  8. A new type of paper that after the day it was written, cannot be edited, to store one's mind, thought and memories of the events that took place. It would be more of a "collection", with entries sorted by date, time, and possibly a user-assigned significance. The idea is to promote journals from being written, and events to be recorded by multiple eye-witnesses and written with their own take. It would also serve as a tool to remember one's own journey through the land.
  9. I guess I'll have to gain access to willow's shop now. Poor guards, but I'll have to kick their asses it seem...
  10. PS: If anyone in an alliance wants to whack Chew, inspect element and delete the offending div
  11. This div bar blocks the attack/message button and makes it unclickable. This bug only affect the Protector, King of Marind Bell and Grand Duke of the East, Ex-LHO, Menyo Kaiden (Code Guardian) Chewett, due to the special way his window is rendered. Why do I have the feeling I'm going to "disappear?" xD
  12. Note: Character cards will be chosen and distributed before the game start, via forum message. If you wish to receive it via another method, please let me know.
  13. Communication between players can be in any medium that they wish, publicly or privately, on forum or in-game, or organized via any other platform. Publicly announce a private conversation, or privately share a conversation to co-conspirator, all fair game
  14. I'm intended to host a small party game for the anniversary, with rule as follows: Every participant shall be assigned a character card at the beginning of the game. The list of characters in play (+ extras nonexistent ones) will be announced at the start of the game Every participant is required to make 3 statements: One true, one false, and one that can be either, at the start of the game. Keep all statements relevant to the game. As long as it is, anything is fair game (e.g The above statement is true - would be a valid statement) While not necessary, it is encouraged that participants are willing to communicate to each other The goal of the game, is to deduct/guess other's character card. Deception, co-operation, betrayal, etc. is recommended. This is intended to be a mind game, after all The game shall start at the beginning of the anniversary. To ensure a quality game, at least 5 willing participant is required. Due to the nature of the game, once it starts, no new participant may enter. Please register below. Characters will be assigned 3 days before the start date via forum PM. If you wish to receive that info via another method, please let me know.
  15. The main page often reloads after a fight, which is a mild inconvenience, but it seems inconsistent. If you managed to exit a fight after submitting it (and before the fight result is shown), this reload doesn't happen.
  16. So this ugly bastard found a new favorite spot: our laundry basket
  17. Change isn't always good and meaningful, and if a change serves no purpose than a potential annoyance, I will point that out. AP problem being that it's a gateway, something preventing players from playing. To what extent would this be reasonable? My opposition does lay a bit elsewhere, rather in how reckless pushing changes without the proper care and consideration would do. Rather, a much, much shorter regen timer, with lower maxAP, would be, in my humble opinion, preferable. Through which, max AP would be the desired meaningful resource. Also, merely dismissing isn't a counterargument, it's simply avoiding concerns without addressing it.
  18. I believe you're rushing changes too hastily without examining the consequences. This, and the previous change made to recruit, fundamentally altered how the game functions, and is severely detrimental to new players. Coupled together, you've essentially make acquiring creatures extremely time consuming and harsh. There are much, much less damaging approach towards your goal. First, too much of the game is currently tied to AP, and even more, regen timer. Like many have pointed out, this is akin to a mobile energy system. It is gating, annoying, and overall limit gameplay. MD is supposed to feel "open", a player driven narrative, and a mechanic to specifically manipulate how player plays is detrimental to the core experience. A game isn't a chore, it isn't a shipment package. Rewarding constant periodic activity taken too far ruins a game as a game. It isn't flexible. It's a task, rather than an experience. The old system was fine, limiting player access via other conditions and mechanics. It is hard to play a game that tries its hardest to make you not play it. It is hard to play a game that punishes you every step of the way, for not being familiar with how the system work. Second, I'd vote against re-packaging current content as a harder-to-obtain "new" content. What's not broken should not be tampered with hastily. Adding NPC removes the needs for player interaction, which I would vote against, and much consideration should be made to make these encounters meaningful. Finally, if you insist on making AP a more valuable, strategic resource, then adding a new type of resource altogether, with the desired lowered regen would be better. AP is tied to too many different interactions to change, especially with how sweeping and drastic your idea is. Overall, these sweeping changes, most of which behaves as either nerfing or rebranding content isn't going to encourage players from returning. Add new experiences, contents, or at the very least, something to draw the player's attention, not a meaningless hiatus waiting for a timer to go down.
  19. With approval from Mur, to improve clarity and reduce confusion concerning the possible shapes described by the puzzle, here are the final images that one should create to obtain the shards: 1 - Blank 2 - Filled 3 - X 4 - O 5 - Plus Sign + 6 - Corners 7 - Centre Square 8 - Big Square 9 - Capital A 10 - Smiley Face 11 - Percentage sign % 12 - Diagonal Lines
  20. A bit late to reply, and just adding a few comments on how the change happened from a perspective of a half-way player. I was a returning player, with stats so insignificant, which had then grown to a reasonable numbers through farming. In short, the progress was painful at first, not to train, but to grow the necessary inventory slots and the prices of the more costly creatures. I have but a single commentary on the process: You are not gated by the creature costs, other than early on. You are instead gated mostly by free slots, and the efforts required to train these crits. The changes struck me as odd: the result being far, far from intended. There could have been more, much more methods that isn't so terrible as one you had chosen. Let me be blunt: The change had little effect to long term players, who could proceed to farm as much as they are willing to spend the time to. Further down this reply, I shall demonstrate this effect with simple graphs illustrating my points. In short: this update effectively make training extremely unrewarding, boring, and bad for those without the stats to start recruiting. Let me start by commenting on the intended purpose of these change: To gate the process through which a player gain new statistic. The intention is clear, but there's no sense of direction of how you wish to approach it, nor any efforts to envision what results you wanted. First, the rates through which an account may grow its statistic. What should have been the question, is to ask how fast people are acquiring them, at which stage of the game they were, and then deeming it acceptable or not. The rates for Vit, more likely than not, correlate directly to how frequent one is, whereas Vp, how frequently does one bother to purchase eggs. While the number of eggs one can keep and grow their Vp could grow beyond reasonable, the rates one may grow their Vit is almost dependent on their efforts in the realm. Both of these, however, are linear, unlike those provided by the shop, which is exponential. A linear growth is the very least, desirable, and does not propels out of control. From then on, there should be a question of how fast this rate should be. Second, the cost growth of recruiting, compared between Aia's measure, and the solution implemented by Mur. I shall provide two graphs, one of the individual acquisition cost, one of the total acquisition cost: Unit cost Accumulative cost The unit cost shows that Mur's formula is outscaled by Aia's during the 16 crit range, while the cumulative cost is taken over at around 21. This implies that Aia's formula is far superior to the desired goal, which baffles me as to why the alternative was chosen. However, this does not interfere with the fact that the cumulative cost to recruit a number of creatures is still a static number, a number which does little to gate those with far superior status, but a lot to deter those new to the realm, nor simply possess inferior numbers. Had it been the case where not only one's stats, but also their free slot, and their utilization of these free spots, to increase, which implies an exponential growth, the solution would be much deserved, but alas, it isn't. One may aim to grow 15-20 at a time, which then is simply the question of if they are able to reach the now elevated cost to acquire such creature in a single batch. What would happen, however, is the march toward such goal would become much, much slower. On top of which, if one choose to own a few of said creature for usage, would bump the starting cost even further, and the resulting final cost much, much further as well. I must suggest that a proper goal to be set, and a carefully engineered solution be present. Directly related to the issue, perhaps it's the reward of each individual creature that should be tweaked to yield the desired outcome.
  21. I transfer the rights of all my Plushies (35) to Aia, to use as she sees fit.
