2. I don't know to what extent this would be [un]feasible: Currently, when you need to tell something private to someone that stands just in front of you:

you send a PM;
if you're courageous or you don't want to wait until the person receives the PM notification, you *whisper to the person*/*hand a scroll to the person* (which is strange because you generally don't put a 10-words long message down in writing if the person being spoken to is just before you. Unless you've-been-on-MD-too-much).
How about gaining a bit interactivity by whispering directly in chat? It would be nice if you could chat privately with someone, while the others would either not see anything, or a simple automatic chat line like those you see when passing items etc. This could be a nice addition to the advanced chat features in the MD shop, just like the gossip feature. For instance, if I type: <insert whisper command and recipient here> <my message> ... recipient would see (grayish?): <my name here> whispers: <message> ... while all others would only see (grayish?): <my name here> whispers to <recipient> This would allow ghosts to whisper scary things to their victims too ...
  3. This one is just for fun. Just like alcoholic beverages make you speak like a drunkard for some time, edible items (cookies, pickles, candies, etc.) could make you talk with your mouth full for a couple minutes. The duration could depend on the item, e.g. very short for a pickle, longer for a candy since you don't swallow it at once. This could be achieved by replacing some consonants in chat: "This idea is useless" -> "Jish igea ij ujelesh" ... or something like that? (Non-native speaker here, there are probably better replacements)
  4. About the second idea: http://magicduel.invisionzone.com/topic/10744-unbind-selected-select-button/
  5. God modding contest: results (Initial post here) I intended to write a summary of the god modding contest instead of posting the raw log, because of its ... peculiar content, but it is hard to summarize for the very same reason. Therefore, the raw log is attached below (the last part is missing unfortunately, about 45 minutes). Warning: insane content, read at your own risk. I thought it would be possible to make everyone perform one by one, so that people present can vote for the funniest contestant, but (as could be predicted) it went out of control at the very beginning. As a consequence, a winner could not really be designated. But all participants should receive something thanks to BFH. That said, it was a lot of fun, so mission complete! I've had a couple uncontrollable giggles myself. Thank you to all participants! Part one: The Circus. Intermission: One-way ticket to Tempest Fort for Tailser's umpteenth alt. Part Two: Fusion. Don't try this at home. We won't do it in everyday's MD, promised.

  7. In a world where anything can happen, with all the more reason at a time when your wishes might come true, an arena will be set up where everyone entering it will see her power increase hundredfold. God Modding Contest Goal: make your audience laugh. You can do anything. Think of it as a variant of the Free stage that took place at Sunfire's Day of the Community, except that you can ... god mod. Rules:

No offending, of course.
God modding, but no bunnying: don't take control of others, unless they agreed beforehand.
Stay in character (!), as much as possible: push your character's abilities beyond their limits. For instance, a surgeon might delicately operate on a "random" patient from the audience with an axe (chainsaw?), protectors can become superheroes, etc.
The more inventive the better, as the funniest situations are generally the most unexpected. Also, being all powerful should not prevent one from being subtle. Don't destroy the world in a single line with no reason ... Play on your own, or team up with someone, it's up to you. Winner: the funniest, selected by the audience. Rewards: "one wishpoint at best" (will probably depend on the number of participants), and good laughs hopefully. Time and place: See schedule above, at Wind's Sanctuary. Disclaimer: This contest is not intended to promote got modding in any way. I hate god modding myself, and I don't want to see it propagated in everyday's MD. No need to talk about that here, this has been brought up already several times (e.g. there). This is meant to be an isolated event, to allow everybody, whether they are used to RP or not, to have fun. I'm open to all suggestions! Edit: results here

  9. In my case, I haven't edited any clickable yet, but all those I have just "visited" (just clicked "edit" without saving anything) appear in the list.
  10. Where is everyone? It's almost time for Mass... Edit: It's snowing now, and dst and Seigheart have teamed up to rob the priest of the Christmas gifts while he is not watching. Perfect costume for dst!

  12. Go for it, Lord Tipu! You deserve a monument!

  13. Not the "official" one, but still easier to read. The original formatting is probably better, but if it gets lost, I can keep posting those versions, since I do it for my own reading anyway.
  14. Something still does not sound right to me, and I'm trying to understand. Please forgive me if it's irrelevant. Nadrolski "publicly" asked all MB citizens (in MB private forum) to help gathering water tools in order to prevent water depletion. Paracelsus just happened to be online when needed, but it could have been any of us, and I would have been glad to help, not even realizing it was against the rules. What I want to point here is that all MB citizens knew what Nadrolski and Paracelsus were doing, but none of us denounced them to authorities. So, aren't we all accomplices, for not telling? Also, what's the point in giving a bounty for "discovering" this, while it was known by many people? There was not even a need to track anything in the logs (except for gathering the "evidence"), all you had to do was to ask them.
  15. Very nice choice! French friends are the best! :D

  16. From old viscosity thread:
It decreases when you leave, not when you enter. It did decrease when people entered the scene before, but that didn't work perfectly for some reasons.
I just noticed viscosity decreased when you try to leave a location, i.e. if you click an arrow but don't have enough AP, making the "Insufficient Action points" popup appear. Scenario tested in the maze (nobody else is around, so no extra influence on viscosity): - I take a step. Viscosity in the location I arrive in is 40. My AP are now below 40, say 39. - I can't quit the scene obviously. I reload the page, nothing changes. So far so good. - I click any arrow on the scene. Pop-up: "Insufficient Action points". - I reload the page again. Viscosity is now down to 36, as if I had left the scene. So I can now leave the scene while I shouldn't be able to ... Basically, if you're low on AP and moving step by step, you can lower viscosity in the current scene by 4, just by clicking any arrow and making the popup appear, and repeat this on each scene you visit. Of course you can't take advantage of it if you have more AP than required to leave the scene, so it's a bit unfair. Well it's only 4 AP ...
  17. For those interested, I updated the initial post with a new version (changed the font + various minor improvements).
  18.
When casting acoustic remains they are presented with a page, which can then be saved as html preserving formatting ect. Anyone who saved the html could edit it to remove any spoilers then upload it if they wished to.
May I suggest to the acoustic remains casters to save the file as separate HTML files, and upload them as attachments instead then? It would be much easier to read.
  19. I'm in a coloring mood for Halloween ... After a brief discussion with Kyphis, here is the whole log with friendlier formatting: I tried to make it look like the actual chat. Kyphis told me the formatting was lost on purpose when posting in the forum mainly to save space, hence minimizing the number of posts needed. It would be great if the formatted logs could be directly output as a separate file (HTML? PDF?), so that a single attachment can do the job instead of those rather hard to read "spoiler" views ... Dunno if it would be feasible?
  20. Dear Mommy Windy, By the time you read this message, I will be gone. I was carving a Jack-o-lantern in the park when two valiant lords persuaded me to help them to rescue their helpless comrade. They said he had been taken away by a couple simple-minded pirates on a remote island. Don't worry, they won't let me take any risk. The Good Lords Tipu and Sunfire just need someone to help transporting their provisions for the journey. In fact, they told me they only rely on a single substance called "nightshade", which, according to them, is good for the mind and the body. And to be honest, I was indeed quite impressed by their constant state of deep serenity. I feel I can trust them. However they refused to tell me how they intended to rescue their comrade, "because it is a complicated plan", they said. But I managed to grasp some scraps of a conversation, where they talked about a bait to distract empty cans, a movelock spell to make something keep still while they would operate, and I heard also "potential food for the commander if he survives". I don't understand all of it, but it appears they thought about all details, so I do not fret. It sounds like a great adventure! Have no fear, I shall return very soon!
  21. Thanks Grido, I never realized it was in the archives as well. I wish I saw it sooner. That said, it does not seem to be finished, does it? About a half is missing.
  22. I was going through the AL once again, and I was wishing there was some version of it that would be less painful to read, especially for "bulk-reading" like most newcomers [should] do. In particular, its presentation in the interface is adapted for reading newly added fragments, but I would have liked a version where all fragments would be grouped by chapter, which was already proposed long ago here but was never done (at least not that I could find on the forum ...). So I made it: I hope altering the order of events is not a sacrilege ... It is still quite a raw result. There are probably some bugs that appeared during the conversion, and many possible improvements to do. I am open to all suggestions! If you find it useful, I may spend a bit more time to try to make it look better, for instance with a more MD-biased look. If you appreciate it, I intend to do a similar thing for the announcements, although this one still grows. Hopefully the Adventure Log too will grow again some day ...? Edit: uploaded a new version (changed the font + various minor improvements)
