1. You can just use the "search" link at the top of the game interface, which searches in all MD, including forum, archives, personal pages, and lets you use any word you want, since it's Google-powered. I've been using it exclusively for a couple months now, and it works pretty well.
  2. Happy birthday Chewett!
  3. Shemhazaj.
  4.
Guillak. I goofed and only have one aromatic tea cup to give you. I can give you something else or wait to give you the other one when I acquire more.
I'll take a hug instead!
  5. Isn't it the one in the archives? http://md-archives.com/articles/a-history-of-the-realm-vol-1.html @Burns: I still did that same mistake when I first started Princ Rhaegar's tutorial quest. I believed so until I noticed the big warning at the top of the article.
  6. To the very first person who ever talked to me in MD! Happy birthday!
  7. Here you go.
  8.
But I thought I used the free credits yesterday in the morning (10:00 am server time) and now it still not possible to use the links today (4 pm server time).
I can confirm this. Exactly the same happened to me this morning, while I have only one account. I'll give it another try tomorrow ...
  9. Guillak, in game and forum. I would like access to the forum too! Thank you.
  10. When you send an e-mail, realize you made a mistake in it (too late, it's sent), and look for the "cancel messages" button.
  11. I've just tested with Firefox, Safari, and Opera, and indeed it happens only with Chrome. Paranoiac browser?
  12.
Not sure if this is related to your work, but one of the sites (topmmorpglist) is reported as possibly containing gad stuff by Google Chrome).
Same here. It worked properly two days ago, and I've got this warning today with Chrome. It happens after entering the captcha, when being redirected to the main page of the website.
2. idle checker on MD is implemented pretty strange... this is more for Rendril or Mur: i think your idle checker on server-side should move people into idle status, not into logged off. "logout" should be more manual action not "go idle". it's pretty confusing if you leave your character logged on and close the browser, or shut down the comp - in few mins MD understands that you logged off. welp, not for me to decide, but this might be the problem confusing people. in most browser based games first you move idle, only then you're logged off in short: if you want to be sure you're idle - do that manually, click "go idle" link, or wait till "idle" screen shows up. otherwise you're risking that MD will log you out. pretty sure that's what happened to me and to you two try to remember if you saw the "idle" screen before going away from comp?
Thanks Duxie, that may be the reason indeed. I think I just left the browser without manually going idle. I thought you would automatically go idle after a period of inactivity, then automatically log off after 6 hours. That's what the idle screen suggests at least ...

All my creatures were at full health. The log could have been erased indeed, but there was just no other MP3 around (again, according to the contest progress page) that could have attacked me, as I was quite deep in the Tribunal when it happened. As Udgard suggests, another possibility is that an MP3 participating in the BHC, hence not appearing in the HC progress page, took my heads, but encounters are so rare there that they rarely go unnoticed ...
I just lost 200 heads. They just disappeared. Poof. I did not get attacked and I was not offline. I was idle for maybe 20 minutes, but did not go offline.
The same happened to me twice. I did not pay much attention the first time because I thought that was just part of the scoring (and I'm not putting much energy in the contest either, as I did not intend to participate in the first place). I had accumulated more or less 50 heads the two times. I am pretty sure I went idle for less than 6 hours, and when I came back, the number of heads was not 0, but 6 the first time (as I recall) and 3 today. The non-null number of heads shows that heads kept regenerating after being reset, so it proves there was no disconnection, doesn't it? There was no fight in the log, and I was out of reach within the time I was idle according to the position of other players in the Contest Progress page (Tribunal). Edit: This is my first time, and I am not sure I understood all the rules, so I am probably mistaken at some stage.
  16. I see your point. I told Shadowseeker about it in game and he didn't like it either … I guess I'm a bit too formatted by a couple more "mechanical" softwares I heavily use. That will probably pass after I spend more time in the game.
  17. Hello! To my knowledge, this is the only game where you will be able to meet a wall god, and where the forum admin is a wookie. You'll love it.

Name autocompletion A special key would trigger the completion of names of people present in the current scene, given the first few letters of the word being typed in the chat box.
  19. A special key (tab?) would trigger the completion of names of people present in the current scene, given the first few letters of the word being typed in the chat box. This would allow to type faster without the need to rely on extensive abbreviations, as is heavily used in MD. This would make the chat more "new-user friendly":

some abbreviations can be very misleading, and the average recent user (which I still am) may spend time figuring out who, or what, "ss" and "mom" refer to (in this case, Shadowseeker, Master Of Magic), to cite only a few.
neither my character, nor myself, would take the liberty to use diminutives when referring to people I don't know yet. "Hello, King Firs', nice to meet you!", sounds … impudent. Yet some names are rather long to type, and shorten them is really tempting.
it would simply prevent some typos from happening, e.g. mixing "Sharazhad" with "Shemhazaj", as I recently did. Do you remember the first time you met Xcercses?
In case of multiple possible completions, hitting the special key several times would replace the current proposition by the next one, e.g. in alphanumerical order, until the user hit the spacebar or any other key (except the carriage return). The word being completed could be highlighted in the chat box. This could be extended to the completion of scene names as well, either in alphanumerical order, or according to "geographical" distance (closer scenes pop up first in case of multiple possible completions). I had no clue what "GoE", nor "MDP", referred to when I first encountered these abbreviations, although I had been there numerous times. Now I find myself repeating their meaning to newer users. I'll gladly continue doing so, but the friendliest option would be to write the name in full in the first place. Alternative: a glossary?
