  1. The pirate theme seems a bit clichéd but if Tarquinus thinks you can pull it off you have my support. I doubt anyone has higher standards then him. Beware of storms on the high seas though
  2. While I don't have much to add to the discussion while surveying Golemus for my map I found the following location in the basement of Kelle'tha's Cannon: [attachment=581:Cannon.jpg] Looks very similar to the activation chamber at Wasp's Totem don't you think?
  3. Here is your map Bunny, you will need to zoom in to see it properly since it is very big. I did a diagrammatic map since I'm not very good at drawing (unless you count stick people ) but you will find everything there that you asked for and put in as neatly as I could given the circumstances (the slight blurring is due to the change in format from visio to jpeg which I had to do so I could post it here). The underground caverns were especially hard since they are under Marind Bell and No Man's Land so I distinguished them by putting them in a cornered box rather then a rounded one and giving them slightly sharper arrows, still they tend to clutter the maps center were No Man’s Land and Marind Bell are. Note that any spelling errors in the map are also in the game since I copied the location names and coordinates exactly as they were displayed. You have no idea how long it took me to do this so I better get your inner magic scroll for this. EDIT: great work soultear but that was a massive spoiler, espically for new players. the forum still has a copy of this stored so do not fear if this is the only copy.

  6. I have stated my opinion on this topic numerous times so I won't rehash but suffice it to say that balance still does not pay with the current system. Though now that I'm in an alliance my counter is frozen so it make no difference to me anyway. I just hope I don't lose so much honor I can't buy things from the MD shop anymore. Really it shouldn't be a requirement there.

How many people remember King Manu (in the game not on the forum)? By the way in terms of user ID thats nothing, mine is 1766 beat that I even still have a Chaos Archer that was the first creature I got when I first came out of story mode who's creature ID is 6855 (I keep it around for nostalgia). I remember when ugauga was the admin of this forum. I got into nasty argument with him about sacrifice values for Elemental I. I regret it now though I still think I was right.
  8. I have to say I find myself agreeing with Glaistig the games atmosphere has definitely changed since the festival. Most of the old hardcore power players left a long time ago (dst is not that old) but now I have noticed that even the softer varieties aren't around that much (whatever happened to SmartAlekRJ he is even an RPC). Maybe Manu would prefer it that way still when even social butterflies like Glastig leave you know things are changing and maybe not for the better. It isn't all that surprising when you consider the combat system hasn't advanced much lately, not any new puzzles or places to explore (unless you have special access), game interface still pretty limited and when is chapter 3 going to come out?! I have been looking forward to what happens in the story for a year now. Still I can understand Manu is busy and has other things to do. I have been getting tried of the game lately and have been keeping myself busy by helping new players get into Loreroot and hopefully get adepts in the process Also I have become a PWR though more because of my time in the game and the fact I built a very nice simple role around my avatar which mirrors how I act in the game rather then trying to create a role and then act it out. I too don't much care for the *doing this* trend in the game chat though I can understand why people would use it now, it is interesting what they write sometimes and does add I liveliness to the game. I myself don't use it sticking with talk and my new spells (I know not everyone has those) for now both because I'm not to keen on it and because I'm a rather slow and methodical thinker and even slower typer so I would never be able to keep up in chat typing up actions. Chat to me has always been about communication. Still like Glaistig I try to keep within the game scenario in a low key way. I guess I haven't said all that much since I have mixed feelings about all of this. The game has gone from a simple adventure game to more of a true role playing with the player base reflecting that or at least adapting to it. Sorry to see to see you go Glastig (since your my adept I know you haven't been active lately, was wondering why) and Lulu too, game won't be the same without you
  9. I have just been looking through all the avatars and there are couple of really good ones I have not even seen yet in the game or I have not seen for a long time. It seems that becouse of the current system they are lost for good or at least when the players decide to come back. Maybe there could be a way for people who stop playing to return their avatars to the MD Shop? That way there would be maximum use of the avatars there are. Mine is 120 by the way, I started with 16 then went on to 56 and finally changed to 120 which I will keep for my character. So I have given $3 for avatars so far.

Multi-coloured lights bear an eerie similarity to what Khalazdad and his followers turned into when they went into Necrovion through the Howling Gates: Page 115 [2008-07-05 04:03:47 - The Shade Ballance - Kh.] Suddenly, Khalazdad started to divide into many collors and slowly he vanished away, Some of the people in front of the Howling Gates started to disolve into collored lights too, following Khalazdad into Necrovion. The dark places looked fascinating for them but most feared the possible dengers. While inspecting the new place, they all gathered in front of a tunnel exit. None of them could enter it because the darkness was so dense that they all feared they will perish if they try to enter it. While staring into the dark tunnel, they noticed that it was moving and something was comming out of it....frozen in panic they watched how the dark figure was taking shape. So it does seem likely she was taken through the Howling Gates into Necrovion but if she really is there then how to get to her. Only those that have died or the Shade Sentinels can go into Outer Necrovion whom I doubt would be interested in helping her and no one yet has been able to get into Inner Necrovion at all.
  11. Don't mean to rain on you Parade but if Manu creates this alliance he will probably choose the symbol for you. All those alliance symbols that you have seen were created over a year ago when alliances were first in testing (I know I was there) they weren't created by the people that started them just now. So out of those 10 or 20 old symbols one will be assigned to this alliance.
  12. Well if you guys are serious about this you need to find out all you can about the Berserkers, unlike the Shades and Angiens not much is known about them. Not sure if that is possible with the Berserkers since they seem long gone. Maybe you need to become the new Berserkers? It is also obvious that the Shades are in Necrovion and the Angiens in the Angiens Shrine but where are the Berserkers? They supposedly used to live in No Man's Land and Berserkers Way in it is named after them. There is also some connection to Marind Bell with Wind and his group of Berserkers building it, the Passage of War in Marind Bell might be a place to investigate.

I was just thinking that since there is only one Marind Bell alliance right now it might be a good idea to start another one based on the Berserkers just as there is an alliance now based on the Angiens (Seekers of Enlightenment). The Berskerers are part of Marind Bell's history too what with Wind being one of them originally. They would of probably be dedicated to fighting the Shades at any cost too just as the original Berserkers were. It would certainly be interesting to have another aggressive alliance around. Not that I want to be its leader, such an alliance wouldn't really suit my character and I'm busy enough as it is. Mind you this is just a suggestion, I thought about pming Mur or Shoeps about it but figured they would be very busy so I decided to post it on the forum for all to see. So if someone is interested in exploring this further let them take it from here.

You can still allow a natural evolution toward game integration just make it so that all RPCs or all integrated RPCs have to agree to let their roles go public if they decide to stop using them and just suddenly leave. If they don't want to have their characters go public they won't become a game integrated RPC or at least they have to agree to complete that RPCs story if they want to become a legend rather then be reused. That way players at least have a choice. As far as Wodin is concerned if he reset all his accounts then that probably means he is going to leave this game permanently and likely doesn't care what will happen to them. If I had enough of this game or had real life issues and just wanted to cut myself off from it for good then thats what I would do. Plus its BigC that was his original character whereas Wodin Ullr was really more of a special game character given to him by Manu to fulfill as specific role so I don't really see the problem in giving it to someone else to continue that role. if only to finish his role in the Necrovion-GG Conflict in a realistic way. Personally if I ever got to the point where I just wanted to eject from the game for good never to return I could care less what happened to my character(s) and would just try to forget about them and the game. Its just a game after all I play it for fun not as work. At that point I might even go to sell my account(s) on the Internet and make some real money off of them if there was a demand as people do in some other online games (I won't if Manu really doesn't want it if my character is important enough though). Well it looks as if from all the other posts I'm the only one with a dissenting opinion, go figure

    Elemental I After a few days of patience, the egg has hatched. Though it still can't ravage your enemies into non-existence, give it some more time; after all, it's only a baby. At this point in time, it's still growing, just like any child, it feeds. The only difference between the two is that this little creature feeds off the life force of your foes, not quite enough to damage them, but just enough to weaken heir defense. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is what the Elemental Egg hatches into. This creature still gives nothing when sacrificed which is definitely something that should be fixed.
  18. It seems that with all the talk about roleplaying my point was forgotten which was to make all the other RPCs like Wodin Ullr with an avatar somewhere that you can click on to attack. That way you can at least attack the RPCs whereas right now they can attack you but you cant attack them which is a situation thats just asking to be abused.

    Scout A weak but loyal Rookie. He can be trained later to master the arts of Archery and do extreamly powerfull attacks to single targets. This unit targets only weak creatures at this stage. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And with the Scout all the publicly accessible level 1 creatures that are currently in the Magic Duel World have been posted on this board. I may post a few of the higher level ones but since it takes time to upgrade it wont be very often. Any one that has a creature not yet listed is welcome to post theirs to make this Beastry more complete.

    Remains The soul of an age old warrior rests within these bits of bone and armor. His essence has not passed on to the other world, staying here to guard those who he serves. Disorientation and confusion surrounds this spirit, however, for he is not yet used to his corporeal form. Yet, given time, he may grow to be a powerful defensive unit that can sway the outcome of a battle. Defensive entity, can protect your units and will be able to regenerate them at higer stages. This unit enhances regeneration skill of all creatures in the ritual by 1 point and more at later levels, turning it into a powerfull skill booster. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This creature is more then it appears to be
  21. Young Savage Knator Born in the wilds of Loreroot, the Young Savage Knator lives up to its name. Hunting for food has given it some meager combat skills but it still needs to grow and learn the ways of combat. Although it is fairly weak in battle, a Knator can grow to be a very savage but very intelligent beast. Given time, it will lead the charge and fight with unmatched fury. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ah the mighty Knator in its first form. Another creature that is exclusive to Loreroot.
  22. I have finally reached max Xp at MP5 but I seem to be stuck now. Unlike some other people I can't go on to MP6 since all it says in my adventure log is: Tasks: * - !!!under construction!!! So have not all MP6 based storyline been completed yet? or is this a bug?
  23. Water Being I These water beings have been written about since the dawn of time. Their snake hair and long, serpentine tail makes them the topic of many legends. Many tales speak of the more powerful forms of this creature, using hushed tones laced with fear. She will grow fast and her healing magic will become much more potent. Given time, this young Water Being may create some legends of her own. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Todays creature is the Water Being. It used to be that you could get these creatures from Wind's Crossing in Marind Bell but unfortunately you can't anymore.
  24. Its better to leave the Dojo where it is in Marble Dale Park and The Gates Of Marind Bell. New players start off in Marble Dale Park so it would protect them from sudden and immediate attack when they come out of the story and they would also find themselves in a place where they could learn right away. Also players watching the place can easily go between the traditional fighting center Willow's Shop and them so they can alternate between fighting at Willow's and helping new players at the Dojo. The dojo also needs to be in a neutral place so the nearby gates are the obvious location for that. I also don't see the point of copying battle logs since your opponents log will be the same as your own.
