  1. Repetition of MagicDuel after MD sounds weird :P How about "Veteran: To mark those who have a significant amount of experience in MagicDuel, and are aware of many of its aspects/concepts and how they work"?
  2. 3. Personally I agree and believe that scoring based on only number of times tagged, and not total time tagged, is a better way to go about it (and not only because it'll be easier for you :P). Why? 1) It removes any possibility of gaining much through teleportation. (eg: I could have teleported Rophs when he was offline, and brought 12+ hours on him, but now that time won't matter, I will probably not waste casts for that. If you change it to only number of times tagged, passing it to someone offline will simply "pause the game" for a bit :P) 2) It will increase running/hiding, because you will be concerned more with the number of times tagged. 3) It is fairer, due to the reason you stated :P
  4. Dark Demon 241314 Question: Winners will _only_ be decided based on how much time they spent being tagged right? Or will the number of times they were tagged also be counted? Example: I get tagged 10 times but only for 2 minutes each, and Rophs gets tagged 3 times but for 5 hours each. Who is the bigger loser? XD
  5. Heat wouldn't be stored naturally; it would be lost. You would have to store it yourself, based on your erolin orbs. IMO I saw erolins as "extent of capability to store heat" (getting more erolin orbs indeed requires some sort of activity on your part, so the more *active you were, the more heat you were capable of storing). *needless to say, "active" here refers to the context of the earlier statement and not just any activity.
  6. -redacted- Thank you Ailith, I've edited my above post and removed the items from it which had I posted earlier. Also added ID to both this post and earlier one.

  8. I know that there's supposed to be a different between these items and WP items, and that role-based items are not supposed to be obtained from here, but nor should you be forced to get something which is totally against your role or character. That's something that may demotivate someone from buying. And then of course, there are also hoarders... (purely an example: me being greedy and gathering more Knator meat than Draconas/Nimrodel, who actually RP with them, whereas I have nothing to do with it)
  9. Happy birthdays, have great ones! :D
  10. Awesome idea, though the only thing I'm worried about is... will we all have to buy a bunch of items that have nothing related to our role to get the 2-3 items we are looking for? (eg: Peace having to get knator dung to get the empty locket she wants). And will there be only one of each of these items (like avy's, first come first serve) or is it like tokens and its all individual and they reset, etc? 300 is a huge number, how are you planning to design the shop section? P.S: You've commented on all of the posts... and you said we can't double post, nor edit our old ones, so what do we do? :))
  11. I also agree that its the death system that should be affected, not the kill/revive items. I heard someone suggest a while back (not sure who) that the more you die, generally, the more your soul gets "used to death" and you'd feel the negative effects much less each time. Maybe that can be a more logical way to auto-fix "wild use", rather than gold sacrifice, with apparently no rituals or nobody to offer the gold to, etc. Currently we apparently just have to... imagine the gold being given to the ferry man as we use a killing item? There are wonderful ideas here, given by people themselves... http://magicduel.invisionzone.com/topic/16043-death-system/ and they might be the solution to achieving a balanced, logical, symbolic and most of all: fun and interactive solution. Gold is way too common and this system will limit interaction too much, and is also greatly unbalanced. The killing/death system has potential for much more.
  12. The only thing I'm thinking about is, why "most", and not all? Which are the ones that don't require gold? Apart from this, I think realmwide announcements are great.
  13. Yes it does, thanks :)
  14. If its a flash issue... well, then maybe this is related to it or not, but only for MD, my shockwave plugin becomes unresponsive at times (and its fully updated). Sometimes what happens is that the browser hangs halfway through loading for like 30 seconds (quite annoying if it happens 20 times in one hour), but the scene does load eventually.
  15. But... the coordinates don't match, even in your pics... Spin a 9 column 10 row grid by 90 degrees, it won't become a 9 row 10 column grid, you'd have to change your perspective too and look from the entrance, not from the side of the map. Yes, you can see previous rows as columns and previous columns as rows, but then the coordinates wouldn't match still. In other words, you can't say the grids are equal, if you are looking both of them from different perspectives. You're looking one normally, and the other when rotated 90 degrees, and even then you only managed to get the rows/columns right, you can't get coordinates right. However, I do share the belief of a secret center between GoE and Tranquil Plains, there is indeed a link between Labyrinth and the mainlands map, even though its a messed up, or mirrored one. I wonder what such a secret place could possibly hold... :P
  16. No, I understood correctly this time. Logic/effect is the same, but the exact grid shapes still aren't. Taking Labyrinth map as a normal map where north is pointing up, would indeed give it 9 rows and 10 columns, but in the process it would make the center south of 0x0 (meaning -0.5x0) But looking at it from its own perspective (west pointing up), then the center would be west of 0x0 (meaning 0x-0.5). Edit: actually, it would make the center east, wouldn't it? Not south. It would be 0.5x0 But I still don't see how you fit in the Labyrinth map itself in the mainlands grid map. You can connect Laby, MDA, Trib etc into a map indeed, but that would break the grid. Edit 2: You confused me lol 0x-0.5 is half a scene south, not west. Hence switching its perspective from pointing west to pointing north, would make it half a scene east.
  17. ID: 241314 Small rock - Just a random pebble on the ground Tomato - A big red tomato great for all the possible things one can come up with! Burned book - Remains of a book, with most of the pages burned out. Knator meat - Fresh knator meat. Delicious! Small pouch - Great for holding a few small items to carry around. Mur: all are ok
  18. I am aware that it is based on a grid, but its not the same actually, because the structure is opposite. On the mainlands map (that is pointing north), the Laby center would actually be half scene south, not west. And I deeply apologize, I misinterpreted your initial post. You are correct, it would indeed be -0.5x0. Thanks for clarifying! What I conclude from this is that the grids are still different, but the effects are the same. If you're reading the Labyrinth map in perspective of the mainlands map (i.e: its pointing west), then according to my method, the Labyrinth center scene would be half a scene south, on the mainlands map. And this is because the rows on the Labyrinth grid are technically columns on the mainlands grid. So basically... I don't see how this is incorrect: Credits also go to Shadowseeker for helping me realize this (his shifting point theory is awesome). I asked earlier myself that if the Labyrinth center point could shift, wouldn't that apply to the whole of MD? I got the answer :D Thank you all :) P.S: this maze is always full of awesome surprises, and now I'm like wow
  19. Prove that the entire MD map (every single land) is based on a single huge grid which has n columns and n+1 rows, where n is an odd number. If this isn't proven, then this method can't be applied to the mainlands. GoE is considered an "obvious" center of the entire realm, just like 0x0 would be considered the obvious center of the Labyrinth. But we all know that the "end product" didn't allow GoE to be the exact center. Like someone said before me, the GoE isn't the exact center because of how the rest of the realm grew around it, not because it was meant to be like the Labyrinth.
  20. How about as an MD shop feature?
  21. Remove the last bit of your post, fast!
  22. Lumber, branches, resin, tree bark = woodcutter? Water, Mineral water, rainwater = water dowser? Bones, skull = grave digger? Tea leaves, unidentified plants, toxic plants, aromatic herbs = herb gatherer / forager?
  23. Even ghost spell, and I think many many others too (givevital, duration of attack lock or move lock, etc. Not sure though
  24. I'll send you a PM answering your questions. But over here this was not what I meant. I was linking it to what I've said in the rest of my post. I just wanted to generally state how people (this is something I've been guilty of as well) tend to expect things to happen a certain way and people follow it (not referring to rules here), whereas MD is quite diverse and each individual uses/interprets the "game dynamics" in a different way. You can't prevent/limit what a mind can possibly think of doing with it (again, this is even if rules are in place).
  25. I have nothing against me being used an example, but your entire idea is wrong. Unlike resource depletion, which doesn't affect you directly, death a fourth time while being promised a fifth is not even comparable. Honestly there is no such thing as "game dynamics". People (experienced vets) have this... specific "MD-way" in their mind, and refuse to accept anything that is not approved by this "MD-way", but there is no such thing. People do what they want as long as they don't break rules, and there's literally no way of forcefully stopping them other than death. No action is "justified" by game dynamics nor can one say that the action shouldn't take place because its not part of game dynamics. However, they are free to react the same way (i.e though "unfair" means) but none of it can be blamed on what is called "game dynamics". Mur especially would realize this that nothing happens exactly as planned originally with any feature implemented. There will always be someone or the other there to screw it up. What players do, how they react, is not limited to "game dynamics", each is different and the motivation for some people for the actions they do are quite unique too (i.e you can't generalize them to "greed"). People play MD in the most... weird sort of way, the kind of thing one would look at and say, "seriously, why would you want to do that and what do you hope to achieve by doing this?", etc. You are not the first person to have tried preventing depletion. Depletion used to be done and is still being done by some of the most powerful players in MD (though apparently less now, actually, and in a less public way). See these for example: http://magicduel.invisionzone.com/topic/13684-month-of-free-lands/ and http://magicduel.invisionzone.com/topic/14875-tribunal-crown/#entry152602 and http://magicduel.invisionzone.com/topic/13740-resource-depletion-for-or-against/ I think Ary pin-pointed the real problem.
