  1. The first part of my post was separate from the second. I was angry at the Labyrinth map being used as a test spoiler. The second part is very general, not specific to the Laby map. I don't think people are understanding my point. Apart from all I said about spoilers reducing value of knowledge, they also potentially destroy roles. Imagine a role: gatekeeper of Loreroot, who would guide new players slowly on how to beat LR guards, in a fun way so that they learn something from it. If another guy comes and [spoiler method] gets them into Loreroot in 2 seconds, isn't it potentially making the role useless? Its different if the new guy is asking for it. That shows he isn't interested in the knowledge. But you can NOT make a thing like method to beat LR guards public. I KNOW Laby map is a commonly traded "spoiler", but there is still a huge difference between this and a public image of a Laby map. (Not having a Laby map shouldn't make a new player run away. If that's the case, then I'd say let him run away.) Taking your example, I say patience is indeed a test, and imo you did fail that test if you're resorting to easier faster methods. But that still doesn't make you a less valuable player. The only difference would be that the value of the actual method would get reduced in the process. Its not the value of the player we're talking about, but the method. Edit: It would be a much better and helpful option to point the newbie in the direction of the gatekeeper, rather than instantly telling the fastest method. Similarly it would be a much better option to point the newbie to me rather than hand them a map of the Laby. So that they can learn a little more about the maze if they'd like to. If the newbie isn't interested and asks for a spoiler, then fine, it's kind of "safe" because the guy isn't interested in the joy of knowledge/discovery. But for MD's sake don't encourage or offer it on your own. I repeat again: I dread the day when someone would say "You don't know your way around the Laby or you don't know how to beat LR guards? So stupid!"
  2. Why didn't you reveal some big SI/SOTIS/LotE/UG secret instead?. This is just wrong. No, I don't want punishment, but I rarely become as disappointed as I currently am. You openly act against the value of a maze in MD. edit: No, it cannot be justified by saying that "it was for the greater good because we really needed to know how people think of spoilers outside MD". Not at all. You could have taken anything else but you specifically chose the LABYRINTH MAP. As stated earlier, I am thoroughly against spoilers because they reduce the value of knowledge in MD. I dare anyone to argue otherwise and justify spoilers. Private between friends is a different matter, but publicly?? For goodness' sake stop being temporarily selfish/impatient and see the long-term harm, people. I know the newer people don't understand why we are strict on spoilers, but at least the vets should know better. Whoever is asking for the lifting of the spoiler rule, so that combat knowledge is freely available and they can have a look at creatures etc, are blind to the fact that others will take advantage of this situation and post more things than you can think at the moment (things that you will definitely not like, after which you will also post more stuff which they won't like and so on, creating a bloody mess). I am a strong believer that if you are meant to know something in MD, you will definitely find a way to know it eventually if you try. In other words, if you're crying cause people aren't telling you secrets, then you simply don't deserve to know them yet. But you're asking that hours of thought, conversation, ideas and effort should be wasted just because you're lazy? No way.

  4. I strongly disagree that "you have a high number of them". But if you say you do, you definitely haven't shown a single one of them in the 900+ days I've been here. Throughout all our dealings, I've always remained disappointed and never been satisfied, even in the very rare times in which you do reply to me. The only reason you even read my PMs is because Chew asks/reminds you to. You have "abandoned" so many important conversations, which Chew/Mur/Ailith had to mop up. You are apparently in charge of so many things/reports and hence have so much responsibility (aka people say "this should go to Grido" for a lot of things) but if you ignore all those, what does that show? Who else is to take responsibility for the current situation of LHO's, as well? Chew (and myself too) have reminded (or begged in my case indeed) to please train us and give us exams, whatever. Again forgotten. There is no difference between an LHO and a knowledgeable-non-LHO-person-who-likes-to-help. The LHO system has become so disorganized in my eyes now that I didn't even want to rejoin anymore. What dst etc are saying, "do your job properly", might have been the sort of thing a GM says if you had become lazy with your duties for a month or two. But almost 3 years and still?? I do not think I have seen a single thing under your management which has not degraded over the years I've been here. This includes your roles as LHO manager, as MD award manager, as a "dispute-solver" (dealing with swearing/problems between players) and so forth. The only question is: how much longer?
  5. And I can do the 14:00-15:30 ST time :)
  6. Happy birthdays, Nim and Menhir :)
  7. I have already suggested :) It seems similar to what you are trying to do.
  8. How do the idea/presence of hounds fit into Golemus? I'd advise you to research a bit into how/why an alliance for drachorns was created, or how tiny men and empty aramors existed and so forth (your fellow Golemians can help you). This might give you a better idea on how to go about this, if it is your very long term goal. The main thing is making people believe it, and for that, there must be reason and interesting logic behind it. A made-up story won't do, in my opinion.
  9. I vote Kamisha to be eliminated.
  10. Thanks for getting people together and making the realm a little more lively, its exactly the sort of thing we need :)
  11. Have a great day, oh great creator of MD. :P
  12. DARK DEMON

    Names....

At the time, I choose "Dark Demon" because I was convinced I would make DD choose some dark stealthy RPG class and join an evil faction, etc :)) Of course, after that, I really found out what MD was like and there were a few times over my first year where I wished I hadn't chosen this name, because Dark Demon is quite restrictive. Actual names (random examples: Oliver, Julius, etc) are much more open and don't give "starting impressions" to people. If anyone were to ask me now if I want to change my name? Hell no. I've learned/experienced much more with Dark Demon than with many other things in life. He has become a part of me.
  13. Sasha's blood --- 10 silver.
  14. Sasha Lilias and Aeoshattr are others who do not.
  15. An ordinary non-mod forum member does not have upload from file option! This is the first uploading interface I have seen that doesn't have this option. Moreover, even if you do provide a URL, it will reject it, saying "max size is 500kb" even though your image size is 10kb. This needs fixing, please... (yeah I lost my forum avy too)
  16. Sold sasha an aged rusty iwith a token for 5 gold
  17. Backlashes show up before every ' or " (apostrophe or double apostrophe) when typing anything in the A25 scene editor interface.
  18. Topic can be closed, please. Thank you.
  19. How long do most players stay MP3 nowadays? I remember when I first arrived, I came with a "batch" of others and we all advanced as soon as we could (MP4's at 6-7 AD I think). The point is: MP3 is the "tutorial" or basics learning stage. The actual learning and exploring takes place at MP4, unless the person decides to stay at MP3, which is very rare. My point: Requirements should be AD-restricted only, not mindpower. Second thing, yes, I do believe 30 AD is too short for heartthepoor and helpthepoor. On the other hand, 100AD is more than enough to bring anybody out of the "I am clueless!" stage, so I think nothing more than 100 AD for any spell.
  20. Chat messages disappear in 12 hours, not 6.
  21. I am dead and might need to be summoned, unless jumplinks can move the dead.
  22. Someone else may have an interesting thing to say :)
  23. ? I am not sure I understand at all what you are trying to say, may you please be clearer? dst isn't dead, I am. I haven't moved, I get automatically ported to Berserker's Charge every day. (is this the reply to your question?) I'm questioning anybody's right to be able to recruit a TS without spending the WP access, nobody specific in mind. Should it be allowed? Owning a TS is not what's being referred to here, it is the intention of the WP access.
