Alas, the Moon does not glow upon the lands as it did once many eons past.  We sat in awe of this momentous occasion and wondered at the master of the realm and his many abilities.  Yes we railed against him and his quirky nature and demanded (I forget what!).
Occasionally I have wandered the realm as it has evolved over the passing of time and wondered at the many new marvels I see creeping into my beloved realm.  Many friends no longer wander, as ghosts, in the realm and I become lonely as I look upon the faded grass and remember the moments of joy and seriousness.  The thought provoking conversations and the wonder that comes when kindred spirits are united and burn brightly like kindling thrust into a dying fire.

Not sure if this is a bug or not, but I used to have access to the back entrance of Loreroot (acquired from the wishshop)  I no longer seem to have this ability and I wasn't sure who to direct this to, so have lodged it here.

Having been like my esteemed brother in arms, Lucius Tarquinus, am one of the founding members of the alliance. Together we have seen many changes in the realm. Much has been uncovered through the efforts of the members of the Children of the Eclipse and many festivals enjoyed by the masses. Evolution is a strange thing and as we grow we see the world from a whole new angle.

The moon was once found and shone in a darkened landscape but, the code was lost in the sands and minds of a few now departed. The moon, though hidden to many has inspired a strong following as has been alluded to. We did not shrink from membership but were forcefully ejected and not permitted to return.

Instead we chose to stand tall for our faith and what we represented: respect, loyalty, ethics, honour and all that is good in people. I would throw my ancient weight behind this petition. Ever have we been steadfast to our faith and cause. The badge was but a symbol of our dedication. We shall continue, in anonymity if necessary as it was in the beginning, but would be all the better for being known in the realm.

These come from our book of prayers and have been vetted by the Sybil and given into the care of the Goddess.

I will be honest. I have not been active recently, but I was absolutely disgusted to log in and find that the once 30 member-strong alliance: The Children of the Eclipse, the thing that I and so many others had put so much effort into was disbanded...

Due to lack of members?

Was there not a request placed by Pipstickz to the Council to have the member count reduced so that it could be returned to us?

I have chosen to try one last time.. to give one last small effort toward regaining our alliance.

I petition that the Children of the Eclipse be returned once and for all to the members who worked so hard for it to be what it had been. Please post if you support this effort. I know it is a stretch, but I believe that there are those in the community who would want to see the Children of the Eclipse alliance revived and returned to it's founding members.

There has been some frustration among CoE players about the loyalty mechanic and some negative undercurrents in the MD community in general. That said, I think Lord Pip's coup did much to awaken us to our disconnection from the game, and more importantly, its "reality". I am not talking about "roleplaying", as much as I like it, but about the nature of MD as an experience, as allegory, and as a means of communicating in a different way from what you usually find on the Internet.

In my view the CoE still exists. It doesn't have official status (i.e. a badge), but it started without one. Several people have shown that they still believe in what the CoE stands for, and I think it is time I came out of my semi-dormant state to show my support.

But this is more than a matter simply of popularity. There are two issues: belief and focus. As to the first, we believe in fairness, the sharing of knowledge, and the development of [i]character[/i] - not in the sense of a character in a game, but in the sense of a person's ethics, behavior, and beliefs. As to the second, I have felt for almost a year now that the CoE has needed to change its focus with respect to the reality of MD as it has been revealed. We will show you entertaining (we hope) characters on the way, but I think we should examine what "the moon" means to MagicDuel and why the sun never sets. The CoE is not a collection of cultists devoted to a rock floating in space.

For a time we were the largest alliance in MD. There's no reason that can't happen again. I fully support Amoran's petition, but I would like to say that I appreciate the idea that changes happen in MD because they are earned.

I find it deplorable that such a paragon of the realm be subjected to the ignorance and harassment of an individual with acknowledged power.

It is also sad the a priestess of the Moon is so besmirched by an unbeliever and lover of the sun. This is clearly an effort due to fail to besmirch all our priestesses.

I think a reward is suitable but based on active days rather than anniversaries. As activity is more an indicator of commitment.

As for alts, perhaps if it were permissable that under a system of honour we could link our alts to our main account then elect which alt between them recieves the WP garnered by the main account.

This system, to be successful, would rely on others not abusing this linking to target alts or devine another's purpose for playing multiple identities, particularly those who convincingly play alts that have not had their common owner linked.

To all the honoured guests who attended and listened respectfully to our presenters and to all the external presenters who added colour and depth to our celebration.

I thank you, for without your support celebrating the return of the moon would not have been as joyous.
