  1. I really have no idea if I can win or not. I've never really been told, except that I can only participate if I play fair, ie. like other players, you know. waiting the 8 minutes, not teleporting around, etc.
  2. My getting those heads was a...fluke. After that I was just curious to see how many points I'd get before Rex came running after me...and yeah, somehow I knew Rex would be the one to take them...O.o
  3. Wodin was my assistance... lol But, I too got those thankyous during my LHO escapade. They are needed.
  4. Sadly, I do know that's what you need to do. As a story, the game would evolve beautifully if there was someone specific as a king, that was overthrown by some group or another and then the land is ruled by an alliance for some time...but that would be...subjective to finding the best of the best of the best roleplayers that wouldn't leave the game....I do wish it as a possibility....but I understand it wouldn't happen.
  5. No no no no no. I'm not saying anything about no one ever getting the powers back. The game would continue to flow. In terms of a story, things can be written off and adjusted, just as has been done with Wodin. He quit, so he returned home. Then this, so he has been resummoned. EDIT Note: At meiche.
  6. Yes, my initial idea was to have someone that would be trained to take over the role of that character. This would of course tie in nicely with what adepts are (or at least, what I really think they ought to be, despite how they're actually being used...but that's another rant entirely). It obviously can't really be used with Wodin now...but it could be saved for the near future for the next RPC that decides to boot his/her interface. Now, lets look at this from another point of view. The issue of Wodin is...well it has already been tossed like this. BigC answering his email is the best method of change there...but we can address this same type of issue in the future. Consider a new player who hasn't done much. Imagine they spend a long time (lets say....2 months) and manage to make it to the level of RPC for..idk, a grass cutter in the tranquil plains, who cares what. Then, for some reason or another, a great many feats and popularity and several adventure log quests later, that player gets integrated into the game. About a year later, that player finally decides the legacy is big enough, and throws in the towel. At this point: A. Becomes Public. B. Legend. Now, put yourself in those shoes after all that work. (Remember, this is someone you built from scratch! Not just a role that was made you're now filling). Would you want someone else to be able to alter people's perception of your character? Or, would you like to see yourself become a part of a monumental game and become part of the legends that people are researching in the future? And, perhaps log back in from time to time to set a few old rumors straight, just for kicks and giggles? If you don't want someone else taking over, but that rule was instated and you know that reaching that level means that for you..would you still try and get there? Or, would you try and get as many noninterface abilities and stories as you can, just preserve your personal identity? In the case of Wodin, I'm actually leaning towards accepting him as Public because I can see it as if this had already happened in the past in a sense that BigC's character invoked Wodin, who was a MD specifically created character, so he got to control him, and didn't relinquish him for a long time. Now, his control there has left, and he remains as BigC. But, what about those of us who want to get to that integrated level of...awesomeness (for lack of a better word)? I have every intention of getting just as integrated as Wodin was, or more, if I can...but I don't want to if that means someone else takes my identity. This doesn't apply for everyone of course, it depends on what you do. The Archivist can easily be replaced. The Legend Teller can be replaced. The Speaker for the Shades can be replaced....but what about someone like alche who is very specific in his abilities and even has some places named after him? What about if Metal Bunny succeeded in taking over the world? That's not something you can just let dwindle as a legend without first doing something to conclude it with things back to normal. What if we jumped back in time, and Gabriel Wind was a player created character that managed to come a long ways? Would the game be able to evolve with a rich storyline without his events finally coming to a rest with his death? If our actions shape what we can do in the world, shouldn't the world's history then reflect our actions in return? That's a long bit, so I'm going to remind you again that this is not to address how the game is at this exact moment. This is a rule that could effect how things develop in the future with new RPCs. This does take me right back to the initial change that sparked my fire in the first place. If someone else is going to take over after me, I want to be able to reset my character and erase my personal achievements and creatures and my PURCHASED CREDITS (okay, some of them. I won some...;, but that's not true for everyone!) before I let someone else take over. Let them have the title and abilities, but they can't have my story or the benefits from my ideas! *huff*......I'll probably be back later to rant some more...
  7. Alright, I slept on this to see if my opinion changed/I came accept things...that didn't really happen. The thing I'm trying to wrap my mind around, is how Wodin is supposed to stay forever. Assume for a second that BigC never quit and Wodin was still running around as usual...then a little while down the road, war finally breaks out. If Wodin won, his mission would be complete, and he would return to his home, with no reason to be summoned for quite some time. If Wodin lost, well, he'd be dead. Either way, you're stuck with taking him off the interface before the game even reached a beta phase (IF the game ever reached a beta phase..). It IS a continuously evolving game, but if it were to be continuous and not keep a steadily growing storyline, then how will it end up being any different from a normal rpg with npcs? "You go to X character for this and Y character for that. Don't get too used to them, in a week, they might not remember you, and you'll have to start over from scratch." If the characters were left as legends, then the story has something to grow off of. Alright, it makes sense to let Wodin be resummoned, but not so often that his personality really does change whenever someone else takes control of GG. But, if I'm not mistaken (and really doubt that I am in this case..) the coding effort doesn't have to be wasted. Write it as a function call that you can enter a few quick and easy lines to integrate into someone's profile when they need it. One character's customized ability might actually be able to be revived in the near future when someone else takes up that role as a job. And, once it has been created, there shouldn't be much effort involved at all. I've seen an object appear in a room and then be taken right back out again within 15 seconds. Taking the avatar from the screen shouldn't bee amazingly difficult in the exact same fashion, only now a bit of battle code has to be taken down as well. But, that's a common function that I don't remember the name to right now, so it is again a simple function call that requires next to no text. In my own personal case, I did set out to get myself as deeply entrenched in this game as possible. I sought to reach a level of knowledge and integration that made me truly one of the Greats in the game. I wanted to see my personal mark on the game, but I do not want to see that mark in the form of my name being played by someone else when I finally decide to set my quill by my book (assuming the Archivist is the role I keep until god knows when...). This is partially because I don't want others messing with my name, but it is also partially because, even when I get tired of a game, I come back to it at some point in time down the road. I almost always do, and with a profound game such as this one, it would take the game shutting down for me to not do so. I wouldn't want to log in and go "oh look...someone else doesn't know how to be...BAH! I don't even have a word to describe myself! But, I know I would be going, "IDIOT! That's not how Renavoid acts!" I'm not just trying to put this forth as something I don't want for me right now. It has already been said that there is no reason to do this for me right now. But that's the thing. I don't care about right NOW. I know I'm not going to quit within the next week or so. I'm worried about much further down the line when I hopefully get as deep as will possibly be allowed. AND, this is what I hope to be an opinion of others that may hope to reach that same lofty goal. I have the distinct feeling that if you had presented this to BigC when Wodin was first being created, he would not have wanted to do it. I'm not saying I know he would, or "that's simply how it will be." It is a feeling a have after spending a great deal of time with him, and coming to understand his personality a little better. Those of you who know me as Little Wodin, certainly know I did spend a great deal of time with him. For other roles that become integrated in the future, they could get the job title, perhaps slightly altered in the actual description (to fit their personal use of the role. the next archivist may not value the protection of information quite as heavily as i do, and need a slightly varied description), and the previous owner would then be shifted to a room in the MDA. A room with "statues" of the integrated characters that eventually left, but left a wonderful mark on the game. Clicking on the statues could give a short description, and not much more. Note: I do keep referring to myself because I am the reference I have to check.
  8. Thanks, guys. I feel like I'm not crossing any boundaries when I say these are very similar reasons for Wodin's actions. And, by boundaries, I do mean hearing his opinion, and not just inferring what sounds right based on what I know about him..
  9. I have to twitch at this decision. It's one thing to CREATE an RPC specifically for multiple people playing it, sort of like the Demo, but to take someone else's hard work and just give it to the next person willing to do their job is sick. On top of that, each RPC has a specific method of roleplaying that creates who that character is. There shouldn't be ANYONE else who can do that properly. Instead, make the role able to pass on, but not the whole character. Think of it like an identity. I am Renavoid. No one else. This is who I am, and no one can ever precisely fill my role in the exact manner that I do. If I were going to leave the game, I'd rather take the time to "train" an apprentice to fill my role after I leave, but NOT someone to just take over my name and soil my legend. It took a lot of effort to get my character where he is now. Someone else shouldn't be able to just get that. It goes even a little further for me though, because Renavoid is actually a personal identity. It is my name in all games I play. If you see a Renavoid somewhere, and talk to me, you'll get me. (except RO...that's the only time someone else had my name...wtf....) But, beyond that, it's who I am in life. To my closest friends, I am Ren, no questions asked. If someone was going to take my name, it'd be my kid, or my grandkid to add to my legacy. Not some random stranger who I don't have any affiliation with. My opinion, and even if it doesn't go down for everyone, I will fight tooth and nail to get such for myself when the time comes.
  10. Get this.. NO SACCING. And the biggest boost from story mode was 1.9 power. total isn't as high as some, but still extremely awesome. Though, I would like to add that if I were to sac the critters I used in getting this, I'd gain another 288 attack.
  11. ah...that's a code I practically forgot about. Thanks for reminding me! lol
  12. ROFL. Yep, humans are going down the drain.

    Adepts

I've been trying, but I don't think it's a possible option right now. Anyone else?
  14. well, i'm positive black and blue were sky high, green just above the positive, red a fair distance under positive, and white in the freaking underworld. lol
  15. Like I told you in the Sanctuary, I don't have the exact numbers, but they were around: Black: 250ish Blue: 180-200 Green: 44 <- somehow just remember this number Red: -60ish White: -150ish

    Adepts

By yourself, you give a creature 8% of your vit with one click. For each adept you have, you give an additional 8%.

    Adepts

If people are going to be getting advantages from being someone's adept, they'll be best off by becoming an adept of someone they already know and have something of a relationship with. If you become the adept of someone randomly, they may not feel any particularly strong reason to actually help you. And, that's assuming they notice you in the first place (in the case of people with tons of adepts that could easily be lost track of...).
  19. This is the best I've done so far. regeneration +1 energeticimmun +0.423 briskness +0.404 defence +48.905 attack +129.871 power +21 luck +0.24
