  1. Would anyone be interested in a Quest-Maker's Etiquette Guide (or something along those lines)? I could try and compile one to give tips and how-to's to new questmakers, particularly regarding how to organise, how to get sponsorships, how to judge, do's and don'ts, etc (rather than technical how-to-script X) things.

why don't you make a guide and post it on forum?

That's the idea... but I thought there would be no point if the consensus was that it wasn't necessary.

Don't matter if people want it just share your ideas

  2. IMO, before this degenerates further: I think Mur could obtain some sort of logs and average them and magically (because let's face it, codework is magic to me) obtain a value rather than ask us all for our opinion. I sincerely don't mind it though. I didn't exactly understand at first what was wanted, but then it was clear:How much and what resources do you gather on average in a week. The average could be very, very skewed because some people are extremely focused on some resources. So maybe this was just for people who don't harvest for a living to voice their opinion(?). I guess this could also be done with code-magic? I don't know. I don't think this whole thing was such a bad idea or something to get so snarky about. @Muratus del Mur - As Eara and Ungod said, I think it's just that very few people actually harvest enough to be able to say they harvest at all - and therefore didn't feel like this topic was for them, and some of the heavy harvesters just didn't want to divulge their values for various reasons. Don't take it personally

Active Days: 1623 Win/Loss quantities: 8943 / 8943 Balance Status: Balanced.... but with no alliance I can't be perma balanced... Available time frame: As much time as needed, after the 12th of June, until around 20-something August.
  4. Reminder: 20 days left to submit your entries. If you have not submitted your entry but have started the quest, may I kindly ask that you confirm whether you want to continue or not? I will not begin the judging process (which involves sending the entries to the judges) until the quest is officially over, which is either the 23rd of May or if those who have not said anything since beginning the quest forfeit their participation. I am only asking because my exams begin on the 24th of May, which is likely to cause delays in judging and reward distribution.
  5. Since I don't really focus 100% on gathering, my pace may be a bit more relaxed. Here are things I harvest and approximate weekly (7 days) values: Skull: ~3 (this is very skewed, I think I have the biggest single pile of skulls in MD. Don't use as reference.) Lumber: ~100 Resin: ~120 Tree Bark: will start keeping count now and update.
  6. Suggested the compost idea here. I don't think we need more types of herbs to be honest.
  7. Hi Blackshade. I did send you a PM, as you asked, but for the sake of clarity and transparency, I'll post here briefly. 1. Yes, I don't feel particularly proud for having potentially "won a WP" with only 2 participants. I don't think it should be a general thing to award WPs where there are few competitors. A counterexample would be dst's Fry Your Eyes 2 quest, where I was the only participant and dst decided to award the WP, as she didn't mention it depended on the number of entries. I think that was the reasoning behind it. Which brings point 2: 2. You did not say the prizes will change if there are not enough participants. You did not say you required a minimum of 3 for the WP to be awarded. 3. A Sharptear is usually worth 1G max, based on recent auctions (that you can find by searching "sharptear" in the search box. I've found prices ranging from 3SC to 1 GC). And since it's a totem and I have 0 fenths, it would actually cost me to obtain anything from it. So I'm being given less of a reward for (in my opinion) way more effort put into participation that Aethon. Not meant as an offense, Aethon. As a consequence: Please donate the sharptear totem to the Treasure Keepers, on my behalf. It would actually cost me coin in addition to the time I spent on the quest to get anything out of it.
  8. Mur, it is slightly unclear to me. Are you simply interested in the number of resources in our inventories, or how many we actively gather on average? I could provide both, but they would be quite different.
  9. Just a brief thing: The Drachorn inside the cave may not even be "real". Look at the places where you recruit other creatures: War Hold looks similar to a Lorerootian Archer. Aramory looks similar to an Aramor Necrovian Priest looks similar to the Unholy Pope. Gravestone in graveyard looks like a corpse is trying to crawl out - Tormented Soul It is just a place where it is easier to form a memory, a mental imprint of a Drachorn, not necessarily a real Drachorn. The chains and its struggle could simply be symbolic. Not to mention, it's the tiny men that keep it bound down, not the 'players'.
  10. I think the system works fine as it is. It's a bit silly, sure, but surely so was regular loyalty gain? You'd gain it wherever you were when the daily tick happened. Didn't matter how much time you spent on what land. I don't think it's something that is worth over-complicating.
  11. I'd say Junior is mostly correct, if we're saying this creature should be relatively easy to obtain. I can't say about water, but 100 lumber in 3 days is about the limit you can harvest (without depleting or going below Loreroot land limits). Branches I think are easier to get than lumber. And herbs... well, they're mostly depleted, so I wouldn't go over 50 in 3 days. Just to reiterate what Junior said. My Resources Ideas (1 each, as with the molima): Flask of Toxic Extract (should take roughly 3 days? Maybe a tad more?) Rainwater Paper (should also take roughly 3 days. Maybe a tad less.) Flowers Clay What should it do? Maybe it can process/purify water into rainwater? Or some other "Pure Water" resource? The opposite of a "Death Spore" perhaps... Combat-wise... No clue what we need or what would be suitable right now.
  12. It's seconds. Calculate how much time has elapsed since the beginning, if you wish: 3454856/5184000 means that 5184000 - 3454856 = 1729144 (units) have elapsed. If these were minutes, as you say, then this means: 1729144 / 60 = 28819 (approx) hours, which further means 28819 / 24 =1200 DAYS elapsed since the beginning of the processing. That's what, 3 and a half years? There's no way those are minutes
  13. As per ann 2804, and taking into account that item and creature creation are actually a thing now, I was wondering if perhaps it is the time for the Volition stat to actually have a use implemented? The announcement suggests that volition could have to do with item creation, but it doesn't detail it itself. Should this be discussed? Are there any plans for it in the foreseeable future? Most I could find on the forums were discussion about the amount of volition that should/shouldn't be gained or how the stat itself should/shouldn't be gained, not about what it should actually do. Maybe it would work in a way like the gathering/crafting skills and allow you to obtain multiple items from a resource combiner, for the same amount of base resources? Say, after 1000 volition, there's a chance of obtaining 2 Memory Tablets for 20 Memory Stones, instead of only 1 tablet.
  14. OOC: As per this topic, and also counting all species of the Drachorn family as the drachorns you are speaking about (since you're not being specific), here are the numbers; these are ALL the creatures of this type that currently exist in MD (at least at the time the topic was posted), unrelated to activity of the account. Wind Dragons (ID 1): 135 'GG' Drachorns (ID 24): 469 RustGold Drachorns (ID 34): 448 ReinDrachs (ID 38): 257 As far as I am aware, you talk (or ought to talk) about GG Drachorns, since Reins and Rustys are from the item shop. I don't think that 469 gg drachs in the entire of MD, including old, inactive accounts is such a huge number. I don't think the general consensus is that GG Drachorns are common or cheap.
  15. (For the sake of this topic, I shall reply in-character, as it seems that Sunfire is speaking in-character here.) The burden is on your shoulders. If something looks like a dog, acts like a dog and barks like a dog, then it probably is a dog. Drachorns look and act like savage beasts and are good at being... savage beasts. Prove to us that there is indeed more to them than this, and that this isn't just the mere folly of one Drachorn who believes he can achieve true power while unbound.
  16. Auction for aramors over. MRF, Ledah, contact me in-game pls (if I don't manage to find you myself).
  17. In my case only, I don't really picture Aeo as 45... but I honestly can't picture any age for Aeo since he's so many-faced. Again, however, I'd name it "True Age" or something along those lines, not "Apparent", since people might be a certain age but look older/younger. This True Age would perhaps reflect their maturity and affinity for the game and the game's world (in other words, just how much they are a part of MD, rather than the way they look). Now I'm actually slightly conflicted... maybe I play Aeo as looking 30-ish, but he's actually 'mature' enough to be 45... Mur now I don't know anymore! HALP.
  18. I kinda like the idea, but if I may, I have a suggestion: In my opinion, I think it should be named 'true' age, rather than 'apparent' age. Mostly because to some roleplayers, their apparent age is key to their role (examples: Syrian, StrongWilled Legna). So they may appear much younger than they actually are.
  19. That information is currently false, to my knowledge (you won't get automatically resurrected). You need to ask to be revived, by someone who has a revival item. Or ask someone to collect flowers and give them to the caretakers for you.
  20. So to make sure I get this right: People who participated already get the wookie points. You reopen the quest, everybody can do it again, and there will be other rewards? Just to make sure I understand correctly I liked the quest and I'm certainly interested.
  21. This is completely off-topic. If you want to discuss it, I suggest opening a new topic. I strongly disagree, but don't want to deflect the current conversation.
