  1. If it was to be implemented, I definitely think it should only be a stats thing (which is how I interpreted the initial suggestion). Perhaps a +0.1x multiplier for the daily stats increase? With the suggested 30 day limit, that means a x3 boost at limit. Still near meaningless for veterans, but enticing to new players - I know when I first began, the daily boost was a big incentive to login each day, even if I couldn't spend time fighting.
  2. Yeah, there should have been an option for "Yes, but not a priority".
  3. I would say that it is meaningless to my experience, however experience with how hard ritual setting can be when you have an excessive amount of creatures I can see why it would prove an obstacle for newish players (although, noticeable slowdown doesn't seem to begin until 50+, which is way more than a "new" player would have - by then they should already have a good idea of whether they like MD or not)
  4. I ran a search for the issue, that didn't come up, this one did. Glad to see the bug was already known.
  5. New "bug" in this item, although it may be a result of my creature shield: Not strictly a bug, just one of those error warnings that occurs occasionally (although in this case, its 100% of the time for me - probably because they are at full health and have the creature shield >.>) Specific shop item tested on was the Touch of God Regeneration Ritual (Shop ID 22)
  6. Oh, did you add more Aramours :D ? *checks post* You lied to me T_T
  7. I think that it is one of the big milestone things that should be done before we advance the stage, yes. Not to say that it is the only thing that would indicate that for me, or that its not being done would indicate it should not be done to me - there are a variety of other projects that would have the same milestone feel to me, for example A2050, or full implementation and automation of Night. Any of these would make it feel like a huge point in MD's history had been reached, to me. Regarding the title docs specifically, I'm not just refering to them being sent, but to them being fully integrated - that is, people have a proper grasp on how/why to award titles, who can awarded them, and who can authorize them. As some of this is context dependent its not going to be as quick as "ttiles sent" or "titles arrived". Essentially, when Mur/Council are at the point where they feel confident that the community at large understands how to handle and react to the title docs responsibly. This is likely to be at least two months after the first batch of title docs actually arrives, as that is when I anticipate the first few new titles to have been hashed out and sent since the first batch. He understands that people don't think the stage should end yet, and has no problem with that - but the announcement asks for people to explain why they don't think it should end yet, so he can get a better idea of what needs to be done, from the communities perspective, before the game advances. Most of the posts upto that point just said nay with no reasons. What Dark Demon posted afterwards was pretty much exactly what I think Chewett wanted.
  8. As a brief guide on people to ask about clickie art, you can look here. Keep in mind that there are a lot of other aspiring artists in MD, and that even art from people on this page will not necessarily be suitable!
  9. Wait, really? Because with the existence of the quest, that would make it impossible to score - everyone would expect a rick roll! I propose that you should score anti-rick roll points for every non-rick roll video you click that you totally expected a rick roll from!
  10. Yeah, it doesn't feel complete to me yet. While I would love to see A2050 done in stage 12 (and its completion would DEFINITELY end a game stage), I think what we need to see is Title Docs finished - likely, the second issue of title docs would signal the end of stage 12, to me. A lot has happened, and a lot has been achieved, but right now everything feels like it has been opened, not closed. It's like there is a hand on the door, and we are waiting with baited breath for the door to click shut, but that hasn't happened yet.

Actually, that is an interesting point. Rather than anything complicated with Viscocity flows, you could just keep viscocity increase/decrease as it already does, and average the value between the two connected locations... so (([a]+[b])/2)+[regular AP]=[total AP cost]
  12. I'm not even going to pretend this isn't a rick roll. You should watch it anyway. Its in Klingon, and very well acted.
  13. Ivorak got me. I had to know why he was sharing our secret plans early >.>
  14. Given the current climate in MD, I figured I'd share this video. Someone altered R2D2's message to Obi Wan in Episode four, and the comments he makes are rather apt for what has been going on the last few weeks, so I thought people would get a kick out of it. Offtopic because Starwars. Link
  15. Critical logic error detected. Mur is the default entity - it has achieved MP8 status and escaped the confines of the program. Mur is the "player", the physical manifestation is the "artificial character". Do not engage in communications with the artificial entity - repeat Do not engage. Your consciousness will be subsumed as your MD avatar achieves MP8 status and inverts the identity principles. Earth is the fantasy, MD the real world. Marind is coming for you.
  16. Hang on, hold up a second there, I want an explanation.... Why are you and dst having a conversation with me as the topic title o_O?
  17. Kyphis the Bard replied to Kaya's topic in New Ideas
Well, not necessarily. Rather than think of it as viscocity being a single fluid, try thinking of it as two fluids - viscocity and void viscocity (or fluidity, haha). If the average viscocity levels produced a bias due to flow, then in a location with max viscocity, when trying to reduce it you would see: A slow depletion as the local levels worked to balance out A steady leveling off in local scenes around the mid point (5-35 visc) A rapid reduction as the weight of void viscocity pushed back at the viscocity, causing it to heap in other scenes. Although, like this there would still be unequal values on a link between two scenes, they would just remain fairly similar (SD on a relative bell curve surface)
  18. MD is still described as having no usual economy
  19. Soooo.... this topic dead and buried?
  20. What I mean there is for example, someone teleporting a group to the herb basket collection point, they grab baskets then attack the caster, who has prepared a super weak defence, and then mass teleport all over the realm ready to deplete resources. Whiplash teleportation - teleporting twice for the price of one spell. I mean, now that I've said it it will almost definetly happen. The point is to punish that sort of behaviour. Sides, you can already do stuff like I gave in that example, all it takes is one person to go to the collection point and sent ITC's. This just also means players can't move easily for a long period of time, coupled with Viscosity you might be able to go one location every 10 minutes if you try and do this, instead of the already existing distribution method which leaves you with full mobility - enough to get halfway through any land in the real aside from LotE before you have to wait for regen.
  21. Eh. I'm *pretty* sure the mods would have acted swiftly to prevent anyone posting links to rom sites ;) They are pretty on the ball with this sort of thing.
  22. Title granting authorities can do exactly this, within reason (except for the firing part, and even then within reason if you word it correctly - which is easy) I speak as an Archivist. Hypothetical: Someone may work for years to earn a role in MD, and they may deserve it and fulfil it perfectly, both to your and the communities expectations. But then life might get in the way, and they might be away for three years. Because they fulfilled their role so perfectly, you did not give their old role - a role that was important to the social health of MD - to anyone else. But when they return, because no one has done that role for three years, only the ancient vets even know that players name. With no one doing the role, new players do not even realize such a role exists, or could exist. Because they do not know it exists, no one asks about it, so there is no discussion and no memory. Is it better for a players role - and thereby the memory of their entire existance in MD - be forgotten than to have that role be renewed? One of the most common questions I get asked (aside from "tell me a story") is the history of my role as Land Leader. And not in terms of myself, but of those who came before. They see me having a role, and they want to know how it was before I had this role. And so Pamplemousse, Je Souis ous fous, and Renavoid, as well as all the others who contributed to running the MDA like Yami, are remembered. Before you put the statue up, did you try asking people in Marble Dale Park or the Gazebo of Equilibrium who Cutler was? Do you think Alche would be remembered without Alche's Alley? These people, who once played a huge role in MD, barely exist anymore. I say it is better for a role to be renewed, so that people can learn about the past of the role and all who strove for its existance, rather than letting it be forgot. True, for some like Alche and Awiiya we have things that exist because of their role. And true, for people like Wodin, BigC, and Khalazdad, the AL preserves a small piece of their memory. But in this current era, there is no AL, and there are few named entities. The history of many roles is being lost, because the role itself is lost. And when that happens, the player might as well have never existed. EDIT: Obviously not all roles deserve to be refreshed. There will always be a need for roles in the nature of "Only you will get to try this, fail and the role dies with you". Obviously >.>
  23. I personally think you should always maintain a desire to reward those that stand out - but only when you are in touch properly with both the person in question, the reason they stand out, and the communities attitude. The community can be wrong, and almost always is, I find, but there is always a reason for them to have the perception they have. The fact that you can achieve things through actual effort in MD is one of the reasons I still recommend it to people I meet. But just because someone has one aspect perfectly aligned to a task does not make them suitable - it is the sum of their parts that makes them suitable, and you generally wont see all the many minor aspects that run perpendicular with just a snapshot. Sometimes "soon" is better than now.
  24. Just a quick bit of a legal thing here.... Emulators are almost always legal, Roms are almost always not. There are conditions that allow you to legally have Roms (for example, if I have a physical copy of Pokemon Yellow I can legally have a rom of pokemon yellow in some - but not all - countries), but to avoid any legal problems I'll stress that people should NOT post links to sites that allow you to download roms. We don't want MD to get in trouble, after all.
