The question is not whether or not you have personally benefited from taking it, Pip.. the question is- what is your entire point in having it to begin with?

What are you personally doing with it that entitles you to keep it?

Thus far, I have only seen you invite two other people to keep it afloat, and then sit on it with your alt and brag about the fact that you have it on your main account. Let us ignore the taunting comments in the forum regarding your taking it, exclaiming that you will keep it because we are upset about the fact that you took it to begin with.

The taunting makes little to no sense in my opinion. "I'm going to punish them for....reacting naturally about the fact that I have wrongfully stolen their alliance and am doing nothing with it!"

At this point, the question I hold is not whether or not we deserve to have our badges back, but whether or not you deserve even the slightest bit, to hold them.

My personal opinion is that you do not, and every action and step you have taken so far points to vindictive childish behavior.

If you had turned the badges into something of use, or created a quest, or more over - used the badges which you have so eagerly stolen to do....SOMETHING, that would make a difference. Perhaps we would not feel the need to state the obvious, and perhaps we might actually choose to work with you to create something interesting with what you have done.

I believe we've been civil and fair to you thus far, you may believe otherwise but each is entitled to their own opinion.

Pipstickz, I want to give you a chance to show that you are not a mean-spirited kid with too much time on his hands, but you're making it hard on me with these inflammatory posts which you immediately have locked. I think it's time to discuss something in a calm and mature fashion: how you came to have the CoE badge and why you choose to keep it.

We, and by we I mean tankfans specifically shared it to the Loreroot Citizens forum, have a PM from Child of the Soul that seems to indicate that you plotted with him via Pipstickz, your primary MD account, or else in person through another means, and instructed him to "give control" of the CoE to your Lord Pip account. Here's my question: do you deny this? Do you deny that your only significant use of the Lord Pip account in a very long time has been to gain and keep control of the CoE?

I think the issue of alt abuse has always been a bit fuzzy, and despite my attempts to create fully fleshed-out, different personalities for each account, I have been guilty of things that are considered alt abuse. There was a recent announcement, however, (announcement 2221) clearing things up. It said, in part:

It seems to me that your use of the Lord Pip account violates both the spirit and the letter of the rules about alts.

I have chosen to work toward regaining the CoE badge through in-game means - when I said I thought that if we couldn't regain the badge through merit, we didn't deserve to have it, I was not merely spewing rhetoric. But I feel that I can't let your posting about why you will continue to hold the CoE badge without making any real use of it go unanswered. You surely realize you have upset people and made the game less fun for more than one person. You must be aware that your posts, particularly the second one in which you admit that Poe made this remark to you "quite some time ago", make you seem vindictive, grudge-bearing, and judgmental.

My personal inclination is to continue doing what I have been doing, which is to let you keep the badges unmolested and make no out-of-game or meta-gamed attempt to "bring you to justice" or otherwise regain the badges through out-of-game channels. But I repeat: I can't sit idly by while you make these inflammatory posts. My "followers", by which I mean my friends who play accounts that once wore the CoE badge, are beginning to think that I don't care about the things you say and have no plans to get the badges back. I am aware that not everyone is as patient or as open-minded as I am (that should scare you, eh? ). It is for my friends' sake that I write this post.

So I will ask you once more, civilly and publicly, to give the CoE badge back to the guy who worked to create the CoE and the woman who drew its badge, and let us restore the alliance to what it was. It's the decent thing to do.

I support this idea 100%. With all the fighting and drama I've found it increasingly harder to log into MD each time. I miss the fellowship that made me fall in love with this special place. I've got quite a few treats I'm willing to donate, I'll PM you the list asap Sunfire.

I am currently testing a spell/feature for mur, This feature is called "lorerootsoldier" in the trigger.

This Spell affects avatar, spell and various different things similar to froggy.

It also puts the player in the alliance with 0 loyalty BUT it doesnt let the player do anything in the alliance, That would be bad

it gives this message if you try

In the past couple week, I have heard more bitching, moaning, and fighting on the forums, that I would have had I spend the same amount of time among a group of emo's being tortured.

If you don't know what that means i'll explain, It means that all you nice little girls and boys are -worse- than a group of posers who act like they are going to kill themselves but never do.

So, to put this very simply.. This is October.. Starting December 1st, every time I see a pair fighting, complaining, accusing, harassing, and otherwise drawing things out, I will track them down, in game, to slap them.

Yea yea, Cr*ppy(edited because "it is considered a swear by some") punishment, but what the frick am I supposed to do? I'm just a player with less than a year under my belt.

The reason for my saying this is twofold.. this gives you the rest of this month, and one more, to get everything wraped up and neatly delt with. The second reason, is that -December is a special month-.

Yea, I'm talking christmass, i'm talking winter solstice, I'm talking huanika, robotica, and any other damned reason to celibrate that you can possibly think of, Hell, my birthday is even in there!

So.. all i'm saying.. is for one month.. Just one.. Stop your bickering, and be nice. Maybe not him specifically, but someone did that and it was mentioned but nothing was done.

Quite some time ago, back when the GGG was running, SilverBlades and I met. For some reason, he seems to dislike me, and was rather rude, so I ignored him. However, he left an incredibly threatening PL entry on my PL, which is still there. I asked him to remove it back when he made it, several times, and it is still there.

I don't have anything against SilverBlades, and do not wish to have a trial. I simply wish for the PL entry to be removed, and if possible for SilverBlades to loose the ability to write on my PL, specifically.

MD is a community that we should all be able to feel safe in, not have such threatening statements made.

I don't want to get into who did what or he said she said.
But, in very basic terms it seems that you dismissed POE for shall we say: Conduct Unbecoming an LHO.
Now, we can argue over the wherefores and whys, but essentially that is in essence why she was demoted.
It seems to me that most of the people posting on this thread feel that other LHOs are perhaps guilty of the same offence (not the same crime or anything, but Conduct Unbecoming).
I want to say something about my view on LHOs before going further.
I see LHOs as being a very important part of MD. I think that overall they do a good job and most likely a job that can perhaps feel thankless or demanding at times.
However, LHOs do get rewards for this. You can say it is little or no reward, but there is one there. LHOs by virtue of the role they perform, become the fist point of contact for a lot of people in MD. This in itself its own advantages. Like it or not, the actions of LHOs give an impression of MD. Even if an LHO does something, not as an LHO, it still can reflect on the image of LHOs.
It is a simple fact of life that if someone goes to jail in real life, they will tend to be mistrusted by other people, regardless of the offence they went to jail for or even if it subsequently arises that they were innocent.
Some people may feel that LHOs should not be trading creatures to newbies or at all. You could also argue that it is unfair to restrict LHOs from such activities. I am not saying what is right or wrong.
What I am saying though is it seems that there is an issue with what conduct is acceptable and what isn't for an LHO.
Perhaps that should be addressed?

On a completely personal note, (but not related to the fact that it was POE, I'd say this regardless of the person involved) I think removing someone from their position publicly, without speaking to them first is poor form. I understand that POE was not around, but surely it could have waited a few more days before you took action? And if POE is correct, you could have at least taken the time to write to her personally.
Regardless, you acted before giving POE any chance to state her side of things and again I find that to be poor form.

I'm sorry about this coming across as a personal attack. And I am aware that some people will probably say that I am simply sticking up for POE. The fact is that I am not questioning your decision to remove her. What I am questioning is the manner in which it was done and the obvious questions this issue has raised with regards to LHO conduct and punishment.

Perhaps a positive outcome for this would be for people to have some say on how they feel LHOs should behave and what is or is not acceptable?

I also don't agree with an LHO being punished or admonished even, because of one or two people complaining. Some people will inevitably complain because of personal gripes/issues or misunderstandings.

However, what is the number of complainants needed before an LHO may be spoken to or action taken against them?

Also, should the general public have an opportunity to have a say in regards to a person being made LHO in advance of it happening? It might help to avoid some of the current issues.


I accept that I come across as poking my finger at you personally here. But I feel that I am not alone in the questions that I have here and I have tried to at least open up avenues that may need to be looked at for the future, rather than simply screaming about what has just happened.

I'll finish by saying that LHOs are human and make mistakes. Overall people do need to realise this and cut them some slack and not want their head, for any and every mistake made.

My trust and confidence in you has waned, and not because of the demotion. Specifically, it is because you did not show respect for me by speaking directly with me. You did not even bother to write a PM to me. I must say that anyone in the helping profession knows that, to retain someone else's confidence and maintain trust, it is -essential- to speak directly with them regarding any issues of behavior that comes up. And the quickest way to lose confidence and trust is to act without first speaking directly, and perhaps even daring to listen to what the other might have to say. Unless, of course, one no longer desires to maintain relational equity with the other.

Had you asked, I would have told you what I thought - that the 'exploit' a) is old and very well known b) was shared with me by a current LHO c) has an inaccessible restricted section within it (which in and of itself led me to the conclusion that it was not a bug, because there was an inaccessible section contained within it). I did not view it as much of an exploit, but perhaps that is because my tech skills are -very- limited.

I want you to know that if you would have spoken with me directly, I would have, if given an explanation, voluntarily resigned from the LHO position - without hesitation.

I no longer have stars next to my name, which I accept, but I will not stop helping new players and providing what guidance I may. Nothing has changed for myself, except for a few less spells ( which I can mostly make up for by spending WPs) and less visibility (it will be harder for new players with questions to find me).

I was the counterpart in Phantom Orchid's trade and I'm sorry to see how much dust this event raised.
Since this event is now public, I'd like to give some clarifications, to avoid misunderstandings:

About rip-off etc: I don't feel I've been cheated, ripped-off or whatever. Phantom Orchid offered me several goods in change of a creature and I chose what you now call "bug". [b]It's been my choice between several options[/b], so I would not speak of rip-off and I would take my responsibility for that.

That "bug" doesn't offer any practical advantage, it's quite useless itself and it has been used only for RPing.

I didn't know this could be a bug (I thought it could come from some old archive), and I strongly doubt Phantom Orchid knew it was.

I do not want to participate in this discussion, but I feel I must - not because Phantom Orchid is a friend, which she is, but because I question your judgment, and because by posting this thread to the triggers box you have invited public discussion on the matter. Nor do I want to drag in the case of another LHO, but your handling of that other case sets a precedent for evaluating your handling of this one.

In your own words, Phantom Orchid's offense is relatively minor, but (not in so many words) the integrity of the LHOs as an institution is at stake. I must ask, therefore, why you punish a trifling offense but completely ignore actions that are, at best, borderline violations of the rules as listed on the "Restrictions" page, and further, actions that result in the actual jailing of an LHO. If your concern is for the institution of LHO and its integrity, I urge you to apply your standards fairly. In my view, your action against Phantom Orchid and inaction against that certain other LHO has made a mockery of the office.

More is at stake than just the general perception of LHOs and you as their Inquisitor; as a community, we by our actions present a face to the global Internet community. Do not let it be said that MagicDuel is a joke. Do not let it be said that MagicDuel is corrupt, and that those with friends in the right places are quite literally above the laws that are strictly applied to those less fortunate.

This sikness of humanity to blame symbols for their actions is something i have no intention of dragging into MD virtual world. Avoiding the use of certain symbols because certain people understand them wrong, means perpetuating this sikness and further hiding and tainting the true meaning of things. As i hope you do realise by now, md has nothing to do with jews, arabs, nazis, christians, you name them, so that symbol in THIS context has nothing to do with any bombing or personal grudges whatsoever. I was worried this would come off as greedy, that's not my intention at all. I don't want "more" I want to compete. I don't feel I deserve the credits, stats or the medal because I didn't work for it. Someone who did should get the recognition. I apologize if this offends you but I would like my chance to compete, I can't take pride in something I didn't win.
