1. When I read Mur's definition of 3 points on the line defining the circle, it appears to me in the following way. With only a single point, the circle could be any shape or size or orientation so long as the given point exists as a part of it. With the second point, the circle can be defined as a circle but lacks orientation or size in space. If you were to draw a line between the two points, you would create an axis about which the possible circles would rotate. In terms of size, the smallest circle would be the one which those points are the diameter, and the largest circle would be infinitely large with the line between the points growing closer and closer to the tangent line as the circle grows in size. With a third point, the circle has definite shape, size, and orientation to a plane, and an infinite number of additional points could be placed on the circle with precise definition of their placement based on a mathematical formula (X-H)^2 + (Y-K)^2=r^2 With regards to the fourth negative point, I find this an interesting concept. When the "gate" is open, there is no difference between the inside of the circle and the outside. The only thing which exists is the broken circle itself, in the midst of an undefined infinite space. However, when the "gate" is closed, the inside of the circle is clearly defined from the outside. Now three specific elements exist, the inside (contained energy), the circle (containing system), and the outside (from which the energy is drawn and to which the energy can be released). Now the circle has purpose. With regard to Mur's example of creativity, it seems less broadly defined than I would like. (Although my preference for a more broad definition is a perfect example of what he gets at.) I think it is a point of imbalance that drives the "inner sun". He mentions pain and suffering as the amplifiers for creativity. In my experience as a regenerative garden and community designer, creativity is the core of the my work, tied in with observation. Pain and suffering do not drive my creativity in the same way they would for a writer, but the imbalance in the world that drives a need for design is certainly an amplifying force. In a perfect world, we would all have all the food, medicine, infrastructure, communication, etc. necessary and there would be no need to alter anything. However, the imbalance of the real world gives opportunity to create all kinds of dynamic systems which can improve upon and aid the natural processes. There have always existed things which came before and a universe already set in motion. The imbalance of that universe drives us to seek balance, and act (or perhaps I should say react) to correct that imbalance. Considered in a two dimensional plane, the pendulum is a wonderful example. It always works toward the point of equilibrium, yet always winds up far across on the other side. Our actions to correct imbalance must always create another imbalance so the cycle can continue in perpetuity. There must always be those that come after us seeing an imbalance to correct to drive them into action. With regard to the closing of the "gate", it seems this is the point where the pendulum passes through the origin before swinging back up in the other direction. We see a problem, and act to resolve it. The gate closes and the circle becomes whole at the point when the problem is solved and all is well. But life goes on and we cannot stay in the place of the solved problem forever. The only time there are no problems is when we are no longer among the living. As Mur said, the circle is closed then as well. Wow...really long post. Didn't mean to ramble so much. Thanks for the opportunity to express myself, Mur!

3. Well, I'm not exactly a veteran, but I do seem to be the first one to see your post (unless someone else is typing as I speak and posts before me - Edit - three replies posted while I was typing. You're a hot topic!) so I will answer to the best of my ability. Re: Specific races to the MD world. No. You can be whatever you want to be. There certainly are angiens and drachorns and knators and grasans and other types of creatures you will find in your travels. That said, players are include humans and faeries and spiders and yetis and even formless intangibles. You are only limited by your imagination. Re: Roleplay You are not required to do anything. You will find that a great many people in MD get very involved in RP and the game and community is based off that roleplay. You are certainly encouraged to find and develop your role. It's a close-knit community and people will know who you are. Re: Character Art You will eventually be able to select an avatar from a group of approx. 500 avatars currently available. You can also draw your own avatars and submit them to be your own avatar or to be sold to the avatar pool for credits. Other art that you do will be valued and many players post elements of their art on their player pages (seen as little documents when you click on players names). You will find your own player pages as you explore the realm. Re: Quests There are a few in-game quests, most of which you will begin in the Paper Cabin. Most quests, however, are player created. These quests can be found in a number of places. There is a quest page here on the forum. Some players have a quest page among their player pages, which detail active quests. You will find some quests just by clicking in the right place. One suggestion would be the hut at heresy lane. There are also a number of players who have built tutorial quests for new players like yourself. I highly recommend you visit with Mya Celestia at the Paper Cabin and ask her to begin her tutorial quest. Re: NPCs This game is occupied by players and pre-set triggers. Some of these triggers could be considered NPCs (like the fellow who gives you player pages), but generally this is a game filled with players. At one point there were RPCs (roleplay characters) who were players filling an NPC role, but that has not been the case for as long as I have played (about 6 months). Re: Contact Players can be contacted in-game by on screen dialog or with messages. If you click a players name, you will see an option to send them a message along with the rest of their information. Here on the forum there is a way to contact players you do not see in-game. Some players have different forum accounts than player names, so you just need to make sure you know who you're looking for. Re: Alliances and Guilds Alliances are the official grouping system in MD and joining an alliance is a big step. First off, when you have joined an alliance, you can be attacked by any member of any other alliance, even if they belong to a higher mind power level and are far more (or less) powerful. Alliances give certain bonuses and alter your gameplay in a variety of different ways. I can't speak too much about alliances because I have never belonged to one. Alliance membership is denoted with a tag and an image accompanying a player's name and information. Choosing an alliance is a very important step in determining your place in the community and alliance jumping will not win you many friends. There are other loose groupings like guilds which are more informal and connect players with common cause or friendship. There is also land citizenship, which can come with an alliance or by directly contacting the king and asking permission to become a citizen. The king will likely require you to convince them that you deserve to be a citizen. Finally, there are also knowledge collections. These are documents shared between groups of players and I know next to nothing about this, having joined none and been granted access to very few. If you have any other questions, I will answer as best I can. Be well friend and welcome to MagicDuel!
4. I think it's possible that the sun is an active mirror. You might call the moon a passive mirror, in that it reflects the light of the sun, but does not generate it's own light energy. The sun actively reflects the source at the center of the galaxy, which in turn actively reflects the source at the origin of the universe. If we consider that all things come from the origin of the universe, then all things (including all of us) are mirrors, reflecting the energy of the source. What is interesting to me is the process by which a passive source becomes an active source. It is clear that through a number of processes, such as plant photosynthesis, the earth has methods of incorporating the sun's light energy and transferring it into countless forms of energy. I would imagine that the fate of the earth is to become an active mirror, and then that which orbits the earth (ie: the moon) will be the receiver of the earth's energy, in preparation to become its own active mirror. There is an inherent fractal pattern where energy moves from the source of the universe to its orbiting galaxies to their orbiting stars to their orbiting planets to their orbiting moons and so on until the elements are the size of marbles or even the size of an atom, with a nucleus at the center emitting energy to orbiting electrons. In fact, the entire universe may already be just that size. After all, the premise is that all things (every atom) are a reflection of the entire universe.
5. I speak this without all that much fight experience, so please forgive me if I am wrong. It seems to me that showing the armor avatar in fight screens does not necessarily add so much to the fight. The fighters actual stats might give some meaning, but the armor they wear can only determine % bonuses from their unknown base. I would much prefer to see the actual player avatar in fights and just leave the armor maniken out.

11. Looks a little similar to an avatar I found in the shop about a month ago. Image in second post on page three of Asterdai's avatar shop in the central market. http://magicduel.invisionzone.com/topic/8308-avatar-shop/page__st__40
12.
Actually having all deciduous trees means that the forests are all climax forests thus meaning they contain old growth. They are at the final stage of the forest cycle. The lack of pines and many of the faster growing trees means they contain no younger growth.
The climax of the forest is not the final stage of the cycle, but rather a peak before a long plateau. During the plateau, the strongest trees of the forest continue to grow and reproduce, ultimately dominating the ecology, leading to the forest's eventual decline due to lack of diversity. The lack of diversity makes the forest prone to fire, blight, disease, insects or other predators, etc. which will bring death to the forest and start the cycle again with new pioneer species. With regard to conifers as pioneer species, it is true that this is often the case in the United States. White pine is one of the dominant pioneer species in the eastern US and particularly the American South. Blue spruce is a common pioneer species in the Rocky Mountain region, and Douglas fir is a common pioneer species in the West. However, there are also conifers that are not pioneer species, but old growth in American forests. Two examples are the Pacific Northwest coastal region, dominated by sequoia (redwood) forest and the Hemlock old growth forests in northeast regions, such as the Catskill plateau in New York State. Looking outside the US around the world, there are examples of extremely slow-growing pines and conifers that would not serve the purpose of pioneer species, but are particularly well adapted to their climates, moreso than the deciduous trees that might take their place.
13. It has been almost two months and not a word from anyone regarding this avatar. I am posting again to get it back up on the forum list. Please check your avatar shops people. I have a little bit of money now and I will purchase this avatar if you can find it. Thanks everyone!
14. I played Freeciv (open source remake of Sid Meyer's Civilization) in the Longturn community. Longturn would be a 30 player game, with each turn at a 23 hour interval (so turn change time - and opportunity for double attack - would always vary as not to benefit players in one location over another). Games would go for many months. I had the priviledge of playing as a peaceful civilization in a game with interactive diplomacy disabled and space race disabled, with a sole goal of survival and prosperity. With strength and negotiations I was able to keep myself and my immediate neighbor and ally safe from war from start to finish. One alliance ultimately conquered the rest of the world and we accepted them as victors under the condition that they would leave our cities and lands in tact and free from foreign military presence. During this time, I was able to build my civilization into an economic powerhouse and defensive stronghold. Using a slow growth model, I was able to achieve first ranking of all players in every statistic category other than militarism (based on number of units). I chose not to go to war, although I had the capacity to go from the pre-industrial revolution (where I chose to halt research) to nuclear superpower inside a couple weeks. I was spending a great deal of energy designing and terraforming my continent into a place of supreme abundance and protection. I had celebrations of happiness and prosperity in all of my cities every day. I took daily screenshots and wrote a daily history throughout the six month game. I have not played Longturn since that game, but I have been requested by veterans to join other games to build and lead a strong peaceful alliance based on my slow growth development strategy.
15. I can explain this error, because I had it for my first 70 AD (because I logged on every day). The second number refers to the number of days completed whereas the first number refers to the number of days started. The first number is based on original time on entry, whereas the second number is based on server time. If you join MagicDuel at server time 06:00, the first 18 hours will register as 1 out of 0 active days. 18 hours later at server time 00:00, it becomes 1 out of 1 active days. 6 hours later at 06:00 it becomes 2 out of 1 active days. So long as you logon every single day, you can remain over 100%. After missing a full single day, you can then still have 100% active days until server time 00:00. Hope this helps clear up any confusion.
16. Not only is there a lack of pine trees. Where is the bamboo? Or rhododendrons? Or date palms? Eleagnus? Cactus? Mullein? Eucalyptus? Venus fly traps? Pampass grass? Truffula trees? Obviously, I am just being silly. It seems that the only named plants are oaks and maples. Does that mean all the others are missing? I think it means the scene artist has preference for drawing a certain style of tree, and perhaps those trees happen to reflect the oaks and maples that are common to temperate north america (I won't speak for europe since I have no idea). You never know, maybe some new part of Tribunal will have a pine forest. Or a truffula tree forest I'm sure I could work a conifer into my garden if you want. Maybe a little blue spruce tree. I had a great beer brewed with spruce tips in Durango, Colorado one time. (Please don't hold it against me if it turns out there really are rhododendrons or bamboo or one of those other things growing somewhere. I haven't really looked or thought about it real hard before posting.)

Actual Sanity?

It seems to me compassion and freedom hide behind judgment. I think a world without labels can be much more easily observed for what it is. The universe is a thing of beauty and all creation demands our love and connection if we pay attention even for a moment. "Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I'll meet you there. When the soul lies down in that grass, the world is too full to talk about. Ideas, language, even the phrase 'each other' doesn't make any sense." -Jalāl ad-Dīn Muḥammad Rūmī Maybe there is something to that story about those kids in the garden who ate the fruit from the tree of judgment of good and bad.
18. I might be interested. How does a sharptear differ from a Lorerootian Archer?
19. What is good? Good is the same as bad. They are two sides to a pendulum, at which contentment is the center and action is the at the far ends. Ultimately, a meaningless adjective as it describes no specific thing, but rather a necessarily subjective preference. What is your best physical attribute? I value so many attributes, especially my ears, nose, and mouth, and my heart and lungs, but I have to say my hands and feet seem to stand out for me. In addition to being sensual organs, they define my primary interaction with the physical world. What is your best non-physical attribute? Simplicity What do you value most? Harmony What is 2 + 2? Within the framework of base 10 mathematics, 2+2=4. Within the framework of base 3 mathematics, 2+2=11. What do you know? A more appropriate question would be 'How do you learn?'
20. I am going to give my voice to reiterate what it seems ALL of the younger players are posting here. I think the proposed solution is much worse than the problem. I have only recently moved to mp4 after over 100 days mp3. I spent a long time in mp3 because I was working on Mya's wonderful mp3 tutorial quest, which took me a long time to complete well. I have not ever been overpowered nor have I abused the little power I had. I did not spend a whole lot of time at MDP after the first few weeks, and I know that is the most likely place an mp3 will run into this kind of trouble. I can say one thing with certainty. After over 100 days, I only was attacked twice by brutal rituals (with drachs and the like) and both times, I contacted the attackers and asked them if they would let me run healing rituals on them, and both agreed. Additionally, I was able to observe these kind of rituals and learn some things about battle mechanics (ie: tokens) that I had no knowledge or concept of. Frankly, I think this problem of mp3/4 alt abuse has been blown out of proportion. I may not be the veteran that new players speak to about their concerns, but I don't think this is the main reason new players don't stick around. We all know MagicDuel is not for everyone. Those who will stay will stay and those who will leave will leave. This form of abuse happens just as all other forms of abuse happen from time to time. Maybe the best thing we could do is simply advise new mp3 players to get out and explore the world instead of spending all their time in MDP. I think this would signicantly reduce the chances of experiencing this kind of abuse. Veterans, please consider that all the younger voices here are saying the same thing. Our experiences were not hindered by mp3/4 alt abuse.
21.
Lore root Guards The first set guards - an average player can defeat, but the second is way too hard to defeat them. The ritual has been changed there is no weakness in their strength. The old easy way of defeating the LR guards is now no more only brute force can take them down. Only players who have defeated them lately can understand what iam talking about. The Aimed Hit ability for LR archer have changed the Odds. my request is players should not get personal EXP for Lost battles against LR guards. This will make many player to try and find solution by themselves rather than asking some one.
I am not exactly a new player, now with over 120AD, but I will share my experience and frustrations. My biggest frustration has been learning the balance and the cycling and their relation to the XP cap. I made a big mistake in giving almost all my mp3 XP to two aramours and two barren souls. I quoted Tipu's comment because this was a particular great source of frustration to me. The older players all spoke of defeating the guards in mp3 as rare but possible. I still haven't quite figured out effective use of many ritual elements, but I was able to determine what I needed to overcome the guards. However, I got a massive amount of personal XP before I realized the "traditional" loreroot guard ritual cannot work on mp3 without being augmented with some brute force. By the time I gained access to Loreroot, I had double the mp3 XP cap. Now I am mp4 and just yesterday I entered Loreroot with the "traditional" ritual, which works just fine at this level. My frustration at this point as I said is the balance and cycling. Whether I win or lose fights, I seem to get enormous amounts of profile XP, and one or two fights can net a creature all the XP it needs for max level, but then it still needs over 100 more wins. Looking at the math, I can see that balanced win/loss count may be the trick to staying below the cap, but I am scared to even engage with anyone, since I see how quick I am flying through mp4 experience.
