I have to agree here. While Pipsticks makes a very valid point, Fang hasn't changed the quest details at all, nor has he "withdrawn sponsorship" if his conditions are not met. He merely seems trying to boost popularity in the quest, by hinting at better rewards if there are many.
It's the classic case of "one marshmallow now, or two later". Either way, you still get marshmallows!

After much debating amongst a few individuals, I will offer 2.5 credits per gold coin.

I feel that a gold coin is worth more than a single credit, but no where near the value of 10 or 15. That's just ridiculously overpriced. So, 2.5 credits seems fair to me.

Meaning you must sell me at least two gold coins in order for this to work. (because you can't purchase 2.5 credits... )

I would like to encourage those considering creating a quest, scheduling an adventure that is not likely to be sabotaged, or planning an event to use the community calendar. It is very useful, and can serve various functions:

--****Posting deadlines**** for the various quests going on at any time.

--****Posting events and festivals****.

--****Publicising quests.**** Yes, the mood panel is good for this, but every single person who checks the forums sees the day's events.

--Publicising events. (Same idea.)

--Making forceful suggestions regarding the "demands of the moment" or the "needs of the time" in the MD community.

This is a toy. Have fun with it.

lashtal reacted to Kaya in Resource skills and how they effect collecting
It actually would make sense for resources decrease upon depletion as it's amount does not actually represent how many you have (Ever seem a player actually transporting 100 branches? It would require a lot of going back and forth to take the entire pile with you) but how 'real' they are. (see: http://magicduel.invisionzone.com/topic/10370-how-can-resources-be-fixed-unsplittable-groups/) Depleting resources would mean you don't actually see them as resources, but just as a way to damage the community.

The problem with this is that it would only raise the cap of what depletion is, if you loose for example 5 resources when you fully deplete a resource we can just as well say that a resources is depleted at 1 for one day and a depleter could pay 5 resources to increase the depletion time to 5 days. Also it wouldn't make sense for resources of which there are only one.

There is however an other logical punishment for depletion. Resources were originally announced as Land Resources, meaning when depleting resources you basically steal it from the land. Then wouldn't it make sense for the land to try to push depleters away? Giving them a (temporary) Land Loyalty penalty, quickly increasing in duration and severity with every depletion making it more difficult to move around within the land.

Since we are now discusting rating and use of drugs

i wonder, is alcool concider a drug? its certainly a substance that is illegal in some muslim countries, and illegal to sell and consume by underage in most countries

in canada you need to be 18 years old to buy or drink alcool, and i think its 21 in US

But in MD there is beer, and tequilla that any player can use and get drunk (a most not model or moderate use of alcool)

Does it still meet the PG rating?

(bring that so one can see that if one go deep ,,, he can wonder where to draw a line)

And to precise to Grido question my RP did not include USE of drugs, only PLANTING a "Super Skunk Feminised" witch is an yes a kind of hybrid mainly sativa, but is use for medical purpose legaly in some countries, including USA (and that garden for RP was to plant medical plants isnt it?)

lashtal reacted to Kaya in where is the logic?
The game currently is rated PG-13. A problem is that according to the game age ratings I could find "the concept of the use of tobacco and drugs" requires a game to be rated 16. http://www.pegi.info/en/index/id/33/

Basically this means that the moment one puts up a cigarette the age rating should go up to 16. As to murder in MD, I think it falls in the category "Videogames that show violence of a slightly more graphic nature towards fantasy character and/or non graphic violence towards human-looking characters or recognisable animals" which is PEGI 12.

Though the ESRB does mention the use of drugs on their site I seem to be unable to find an age requirement. On the other hand the ESRB does have a: "Online Interactions Not Rated by the ESRB." qualification. http://www.esrb.org/ratings/ratings_guide.jsp

Furthermore it should be noted that having a ESRB rating in Canada and the US or PEGI rating in Europe is not required: ESRB http://www.esrb.org/ratings/faq.jsp#2 PEGI: http://www.pegi.info/en/index/id/26#question_6

In other words if wanted Mur could rate it whatever he wants, there is no such thing as loosing a rating unless you actually applies for an official rating. (Although there are rules regarding 18+ content and payments, but these are beside the point.)

In my opinion you should be able to plant whatever plant you want as long as it's logically possible (no godmodding your plants) As for Nightshade, if I remember correctly it says Necrovion has a monopoly on it, so I would recommend not planting that, unless you want to risk angering the shades.

Ladies and gentlemen,

since Samhain-Halloween is getting closer, your favorite Necrovion's crew is willing to help you refreshing your dreadful skills with a new quest.

Design a ritual/incantation meant to instill terror in someone.
Your victim should be explicited and the ritual customized accordingly.

Notes:
- All submissions should be sent to me privately (either via PM or forum PM) not later than October 31st.
- The rituals/incantations are meant to terrorize, not to harm directly.
- Analysis and discretion might be required in order to figure out your victim's fears or weak spots. Participants will have to explain how/why their "ingredients" have been chosen.
- Submissions will be disclosed publicly, their authors will stay anonymous.

For Hedge:
Hedge Munos: *sniffles* Not Jerry...
: Hedge Munos wraps up Jerry's maggot body in a piece of his own flesh and sets it aside
: Hedge Munos digs a maggot-sized hole with his finger
: Hedge Munos looks around the cemetery and smiles at imagined guests
Hedge Munos: We are all gathered here today to celebrate the marr...
Hedge Munos: *clears his throat* I mean
: Hedge Munos nods toward the lump that is Jerry
Hedge Munos: Jerry was a friend, companion, and flesh-eater.
Hedge Munos: He was there for me when everyone else was too busy being productive.
Hedge Munos: Just sitting there...gnawing on my decomposing flesh...he really listened to me, you know?
Hedge Munos: Well, he's gone now. But not really. You see, he'll always have a place in our hearts. Though it is more probable that he would be feasting upon our skin than our hearts.
Hedge Munos: *waves a hand in dismissal* Rest in peace with your maggot friends, Jerry.
Hedge Munos: And now I'll share a poem with you - not one of my own
Hedge Munos: The sun kept setting, setting still; No hue of afternoon Upon the village I perceived, -- From house to house 't was noon.
Hedge Munos: The dusk kept dropping, dropping still; No dew upon the grass, But only on my forehead stopped, And wandered in my face.
Hedge Munos: My feet kept drowsing, drowsing still, My fingers were awake; Yet why so little sound myself Unto my seeming make?
Hedge Munos: How well I knew the light before! I could not see it now. 'T is dying, I am doing; but I'm not afraid to know.
: Hedge Munos sets Jerry in the grave he dug and covers him up
Hedge Munos: Goodbye
Hedge Munos: *smiles at the imagined guests* Thank you.
: Hedge Munos falls back into his grave and snores
The burial of Jerry the Maggot. My condolences.

In the six-person-shared bathroom I use, we have a "shower schedule" with times, at 15-minute individuals, when people can take showers during the morning hours.

Nobody actually adheres to it, but it is used to prevent disputes if two people wake up at the same time.

Generally, when resources have a set value, it's because they also have a set usefulness, and disputes can be quickly settled with a reference table. For those resources (i.e. combat-related resources -- and I don't know if those even exist...) a chart is useful.

Otherwise, I don't see why we'd need one.
