I received this message when I tried to save my edited papers:

(might be connected to a temporary loss of internet connection, but not sure.)

That happens every hour on the hour if you attempt to save your papers after the hour 'expires'
I.e. you start editing at 3:55 and attempt to save at 4:15.

Refreshing the page should fix it

really this should be changed to a more specific message, and/or fix it so that when updating over the hour it doesnt do this...

That'd require a re-working of EIDs, Chewett. Refreshing is a much simpler solution.

Unless ofc you check post data when reloading the EID, decode it (assuming mur isnt lying about the aes encryption) and then if its within a certain time period, update the data and reload the new eid.

I just don't see the point when there's better ways, for example if it's after the hour, then instead of giving the error message, it could go back and give you whatever page you were working on so you could copy and paste after reopening it.

surely the best way is to "just save" what you were saving, thus removing all the faff of copying what you typed, then closing the page, re opening it and copying it back in? If its possibly, then it might as well "work as intended" and not have a silly workaround like the PM's

But the PM's have a different issue so that people cant craft links to work forever, But still i feel it doesnt really matter if you can edit your papers over multiple hours.. Unless ofc its "quick" to apply the PM hack, instead of just making it work nicely over hours.
