If you have a program like photoshop or something similar that has an eraser in it, you can get rid of the smudges in the artwork. (the chick with the snake head scares me!) I'd like to see some larger ones and also, keep in mind that Avatars are to be more than just a head. They don't HAVE to be full bodies, but they should be enough of a body to give an impression of the whole character. See some of the ones in use and I think you'll see what I mean.
