Oh, awesome. Now I can bother you in more ways than one! Forum, facebook, MD, YIM.....

      ....I joke, of course.

  2.
I will send you the details. Thank you, Huckleberry. *edit* I am informed you cannot receive any new messages.
There I fixed it!
  3.
I find it more surprising there was even a stir from Glor...
Ah, Shadow, you'll find I'm like Herpes. I disappear... you may even think I'm gone for good, but from time to time I'll show up to brighten somebody's day.
  4.
Thank you for the blessings. If all goes well, I shall arrive at the Howling Gates by morning. Then the carving begins.
Ha... you mistake my meaning young one. I meant no blessings upon you, only an observation. I mean to oppose your ascent as I did your father's. You'll have to get creative if you mean to take up his mantle... I know his old tricks and I have no need to keep your secrets as I kept his.
  5. So, the great power of the desert went and produced an heir. I find that somewhat unlikely... by the time he had assembled his harem he was as much liquid dust as he was a man. Such a thing being capable of reproduction is an abomination. However, if you are what you claim to be, young Rask, then I have little doubt that you will carve out your own throne much as your villainous father did, or lose yourself trying. The sentinels have put on a mask of civility, but civility is not the true nature of the desert. Your father understood this even if the current claimants to his legacy have forgotten the truth. Necrovion is only open to them because of Khalazdad's will to power and his willingness to sacrifice everything for it. If you are cut from the same cloth, you'll find your throne. Just do not be too bitter if it is not what you expected.

    Toons!

Here's the thought... You find a cartoon or photo somewhere that describes one of the people you know here in MD, post it and give us all a good laugh. I found this at 8-Bit Theater. The king / sno-cone vendor is definitely our own king / adlepated philosopher.
  7. This is completely off topic and pointless, but I thought those of you that want to kill bunnies might appreciate it. Bunny Game!
  8. A couple of points: 1) I left Poppitz in because only a few of his pieces looked copied, we talked about it, and he was not going to do that again. I sent in the work as part of the avatar bounty as examples of his work. As I understood it, entrants were to send in 10 pieces, even if all 10 of them don't work, they were to be sent in. Fenrir was a different case. All of his work was directly stolen. Poppitz just drew by hand from examples on the internet. Fenrir was also unable to demonstrate an ability to draw his own work. 2.) Burns and Poppitz' avatars are some that I sent in for fun last Halloween (A year ago)and told Mur and everyone on the forums that they were Freddy and Jason. I even named them that, Freddy.jpg and Jason.jpg, when I sent them in. I also sent in an image of a spartan that I'd drawn from an image on the internet with that same batch. Someone pointed out the copyright issues involved, which I hadn't thought about and I haven't done it since. 3.) People leave messages on the Forum all the time, some with decent artwork, but it stated clearly that they were supposed to send email to glordamar@gmail.com. There was also a period of time where I couldn't check the forums daily or even much more than weekly and I know I missed a few people. I'm sorry for that, but many of those that I did contact were either unable to continually produce high-quality art due to talent or equipment (scanner, etc.) or couldn't seem to grasp the requirements for artwork submission. I had a lot of trouble finding people who were both talented and able to do the job. If there are others that I can think of I'll put them up too.
  9.
Yeah I got bored today so I decided to draw my favourite character ever:Yoshi(big surprise ) Now, bear in mind I have never really drawn anything except for cubes, shapes, and random line designs. So yeah, any thoughts/comments/whatever on it would be great. Hope you like it ^^ PS.If I enhanced this drawing to make it MD acceptable would I be able to use it as my own? PPS.Its huge... and I can't use the full editor to replace it with a smaller version >.<
Technically it's not too bad, but being a highly recognizable character it borders on being a copyright issue. As it's your own drawing and not copied from something... I'm not sure. I'd say to avoid drawing recognizable characters as they could be a problem and they're not generally what MD is about. As far as using it for your own Avatar, even if it was acceptable from a subject matter standpoint, it would have to go into the shop and you'd have to buy it before someone else got it. Drawing your own avatar, or custom avatars for others, is something that can't be done at this point. Try your hand at some other things. I'd be interested to see what you come up with.
  10. The email address to send to is: glordamar@gmail.com I'm sorry I haven't posted anything about this in awhile, but I've had some things I've had to deal with. I hope you'll all forgive me for it. I have had many entries, some very good, most quite interesting... I'll be sending in samples of everything I have to Mur, but I'll be stripping it down to just the acceptable ones. If any of your avatars are accepted, you will receive a payment in credits for those avatars. Anyone that produces consistent, strong avatars, where somewhere around 8 or more of their avatars are usable in terms of quality, will be considered for membership in the Artisan's Guild.
  11.
Done some tests. Here is one of the results: Venger's Pimped Grasan does haoticdamage to multirandom creature(s) of .GlorDamar. and: - hits haoticaly and does 14816284 damage to Elemental II creature DIES! - hits haoticaly and does 11706749 damage to Animated Tree II creature DIES! I will do more. And sorry to the ones that had to endure my attacks...
DAMN YOU! Guess that's what I get for being the king of idle.
  12. They are all technically very good. The two hands, the weapons and the like, as fenrir said, are not appropriate for avatars, but the rest work pretty well. The style's not exactly typical of the game, but I like them.
  13. Avatar Trading discussion has been split off into a new topic. [topic="4373"]Avatar Trading[/topic]
  14.
The Time Traveler's Wife
My wife loved that one. Currently I'm reading D-Day by Steven(Sp?) Ambrose. I just finished Pegasus Bridge by the same author and I loved "Band of Brothers" also by Ambrose. Best books ever... Lord of the Rings by Tolkien. Others that are highly enjoyabled: The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand, the book that made me change my mind about Architecture as a career. Dragonlance Chronicles by Weis and Hickman A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking Water for Elephants by Sarah Gruen 100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez The Everlasting Man by G. K. Chesterton 1984 by George Orwell Architecture: Form, Space and Order by Francis D. K. Ching 1001 Nights There are others, but I'd have to think of them. Enjoy.
  15.
Do you want quantity or quality?
BOTH! Actually, as Mur stated, 10 avatars are required. They must all be of acceptable quality, so if you question your abilities, I would suggest submitting several more than that. Also, as a current member of the Artisan's Guild, I hope to be eligible, so you'd better submit before I can! I'll be on vacation for the next week or so, but when I get back I'll be scanning in the work I've produced. If enough of you submit acceptable work before then I guess I'll be SOL, and trust me, I'll evaluate it all fairly by date. You'll find that although I am somewhat arrogant I'm also very fair. You have about 6 days to beat me, but since there are 5 awards available, you have until all 5 are awarded to get your work in. I'll keep you all posted on the results and post the entries from those I consider worthy in order received.
  16. This topic has degenerated into something stupid and pointless. Closed.
  17.
i will try to stand up to your level and this only one i am making more so i hope that it is good enough for the first one.
It's not bad. I'd like to see some larger ones and also, keep in mind that Avatars are to be more than just a head. They don't HAVE to be full bodies, but they should be enough of a body to give an impression of the whole character. See some of the ones in use and I think you'll see what I mean.
  18. We've had some issues with our personnel. One of my most conistent producers has left, a promising newcomer turned out to be a cheat, another has been harassed in game to the point of distraction and I was trying to work on other parts for a bit. Anyway, it all adds up to a dearth of avatars and we'll work on fixing that problem. If anyone's got some artistic talent and a desire to draw avatars, now would be a good time to let me know.
  19. To my dear Akasha. As I've said numerous times, both in these forums and in personal discussion with you... your points are valid, but your methods are terrible. There is no need to resort to harassment and public defamation to get your point across. If the tribulations in Loreroot are turning people away from the game, your attitude toward all of those who would dare to stand up to you is as much to blame as anything done by the "leadership" of loreroot that you're so opposed to. You could accomplish much more if you were to handle things diplomatically than the dictatorial approach that you've put to such ham-fisted use. What's more, your association with Mur and lack of a clearly defined role leads other people to believe that your actions have official sanction. I don't like the idea that the MD leadership is trying to bully people into doing what they want... Having spoken with Mur often, I know that it's not him making the decisions to have you do what you're doing, however the appearance of impropriety is certainly there. As much as Loreroot needs to be cleaned up, your attitude and methodology may just need it more.
  20. I guess since there's no official record of a transfer of power, then it never happened, right Akasha? Or do the Guardians of the Root even exist anymore? I'm still not straight on that... care to enlighten everyone? Oh, also, if Firsanthalas is the new leader, when does the stalking and harassment begin for him? Does he get a grace period of a few days before the constant earfocusing and forum attacks start or does that begin now? I just want to know how to properly treat the leader of Loreroot.
  21.
I'm glad you all like the idea it isn't really important when does it start if it starts, but i really hope that The Artisans will get some "fresh blood" so they can work on several projects and work generally faster
I agree, it would be nice if we could get some fresh blood. Anyone interested?
  22.
In MD there are ppl from ALL AROUND THE WORLD so, outside politics are kinda irrelevant to inside ones ....
That argument makes no sense. MD is a world that has many analogs in the real world. A government is a government, a state is a state. When Romanians have an election, do Ukrainian citizens get a vote? It's the same all over. Wherever there is a representative government, only the people represented by that government get to vote for who represents them. It is completely fair that the alliances of Loreroot get to vote for their government and that the rest of the MD world gets no say. And what does it matter if a group of like minded individuals get together to form an alliance? Isn't that kind of the point?
