the wires of Eggdar... current abilities, online player awareness, scene vision. Currently suitable for community events, organizing riddles, some quests. It is not aware of md history, or any secrets. It can not move..yet.. item mixing, more depth
Ivorak and 2 others reacted to Muratus del Mur for a topic
here are my plans for recipes for a next depth of items. The 'ingredients' are based on the most abundant items in the realm, sign that their use is either missing or not balanced. Creating these items will consume existing items, and create more complex and functional items, or precursors to even more complex items. I hope to be able to slowly create a path from resource, to more advanced items, and the most advanced items to be consumables requiring several levels of processing, with limited use but extreme power. Your feedback is welcome and appreciated. Functionality and actual mixing amounts are still open to debate. IMPORTANT: To avoid getting stuck in where to place the combiners and mixers for these items, i decided to create a central location for all this mixing. I don't have a place set yet, suggestions are welcome. Basically all mixing of next depth item such as these, will be do-able in one place. The next level after this (complexity 6-7), will be done in an other place, not the same. ==== COMPLEXITY LEVEL: 5-6 ===== Arcane Glass Ingredients: Raw Glass + Reality Shards + Crystal Description: By infusing raw glass with the mysterious properties of Reality Shards and finishing it with a crystalline sheen, you create a highly reflective, semi-sentient glass that warps light and confuses onlookers. Function: ingredient for later mixing Essence of Verdancy Ingredients: Unidentified Plants + Aromatic Herbs + Flowers Description: A small vial containing the concentrated essence of lush plant life. It smells of blossoming meadows and can be used in potent healing rituals or to magically enhance growth in gardens. Function: ingredient for later mixing Chrono Shard Ingredients: Timeless Dust + Syntropic Dust + Memory Stone Description: When you bind two time-altering substances (Timeless and Syntropic dust) around a fragment of Memory Stone, you craft a glowing shard that can momentarily slow or speed up time in the hands of a skilled mage. It glows with an inner heat and radiates a low, rhythmic pulse. Function: Ingredient for the currently non existant golem. Corrupted Brew Ingredients: Toxic Plants + Toxic Gas + Water Description: A bubbling green mixture that reeks of danger. This poison-laced concoction is rumored to weaken even the mightiest creature if ingested—or, with proper alchemy, it could be refined into a powerful antidote, or a weapon. Function: ingredient to build toxic bombs Mudwood Bricks Ingredients: Fine Sand + Clay + Water + Lumber Description: Mixing damp sand and pliable clay, then reinforcing it with pulverized lumber fibers, yields a sturdy brick material. Dried in sunlight, these bricks are surprisingly strong and naturally resistant to erosion. Function: part of future plans of allowing players to construct buildings, need to talk to chew about this Soulbound Idol Ingredients: Bones + Resin + Memory Stone Description: A small, carved effigy formed from bleached bones, held together with resin and embedded with a Memory Stone shard. The idol can store fragments of the wearer’s essence, allowing for minor feats of necromancy. Function: usable with necrotic ink for creating one time consumable against or in favor of clearly specified players. Warding Effigy Ingredients: Branches + Bushies + Rock Salt + Syntropic Dust Description: Twisting branches into a humanoid form and lashing them together with Bushies for texture, you then coat the structure in Rock Salt and sprinkle it with Syntropic Dust. This scarecrow-like effigy deters low-level spirits from entering a guarded area. Function: Defense are, +def spell effect of all online in same place. consumable. Spirit Ink Ingredients: Colored Paper + Ashes + Reality Shards Description: Burn the colored paper to ashes, then imbue the powder with Reality Shards, creating an inky substance that shimmers with otherworldly patterns. Probably should be mixed with heat jars or heat stones to be activated otherwise its too powerful. The resulting shimmering tea grants the drinker an extended twilight hour, delaying nightfall in their perception. When held, it whispers echoes of the past or half-forgotten secrets; tapping into it can reveal fleeting visions of lost knowledge. The Kelle'tha Order archives have been locked ages ago, with some posts dating back 15+years ago. They represent bits and pieces of debates and first-hand information , from the young ages of MagicDuel, many things inspired from documents prepared before MD, as part of its design concepts. Its been so many years since these archive closed, and i decided its a pity to lose all this valuable information, so i am unlocking access to these records, for research purposes, but also historic purposes. I moved all records from the "Kelle'tha Records" section to one of the locked sections, many had duplicates, posted about same time (not sure why). I wanted to preserve the records as they where so i did not combine the informations under same topics, instead you will find them all as they where, including the duplicate (or almost duplicate) records. Each subforum is protected by a password, and you will be able to reach that password through a quest created by Aelis (under my supervision). This access is about knowledge , and so will be the path leading to it. Obtaining the password to all subforums does not entitle you to any rights regarding the Kelle'tha in-game Guild, currently locked. If this guild will ever be unlocked and usable, and in what way, it will depend mostly on overall MD activity, and the opinion of former order members, if they are reachable. I enabled posting and replying to members of Border Research and A25 group, so they can complete the archive with valuable information, if they want to. They will still need to discover the access password to these forums, so not everyone in these groups may respond, but anyone obtaining the password can view the records. Aelis will followup with details about the quest when it will be ready.3 points -

I'm thinking an entirely new country (as in factions in Md), full of colors and forest people. The navigation screens would be easy enough to draw... even if not, placeholders can be placed... i'm not saying make it something like one of those cheap (and strange) games with a jpg on every step.. just.. thinking adding some color to md.. Theme can be blueberries (and red) every where and the dead rising.. I nominate Lazarus and Aia as the leaders.. A new land would bring energy into game.. I can do the research/story if needed (for free). This new land can also + send new events to what is happening panel.. (ie dead is rising, their heart is heavy), + have new resources, mushroom/blueberries + have new everything.. if proper.. They must be a breakaway section of Necrovion.. i think. What do you say ? Some ideas to run through : Dead gates : (as entrance) You sort of feel an undeniable pull, despite being fully aware there is only a dead end, and you'll be harmed Blueberry Road A busy road, that sees a lot of traffic. There are a lot of red and blue fruits hanging from the heavy branches.. You can't see the end of the blueberry forests.. Corn Maze Statue (as altar) Beyond the end of the maze (perhaps how the geographically placed as well), you see an altar of a rat among bunch of scattered and old statues. There are some decorations on the wall, as you see start to see the environment change from maze like to a proper city Un dead Acorns (The sanctuary/base or maybe Shop, or Creature recruit), three areas perhaps There is a hint of spell of constructs on the air, which is strange, since you'd think it'd be shades and trees. This is an obscure and rare to place to encounter away from the main lands. You see some fighters and some magic duels..2 points

I think we the remaining population, those of us who remain loyal and supportive of MD and wish to never see it fade away. I think we should all have a get together when time allows. I really feel that we need lift up and give some praise to Mur and Chewett. They have and continue to do a phenomenal job with all things MD. All these years and MD still stands strong, even with a now small population. Those of us that remain call one another friend and would have otherwise never meet and have had the joys of sharing our spare time with each other. We've lost many, but their memories remain here in MD and forums and in our hearts. I really don't think any of us would say otherwise, it's not said or showed enough our gratitude to the contributions These two have done. Now I know there have been others in the past and of course now currently. But from my view point it has always been these two, @Muratus del Mur and @Chewett. These two are like the mom and dad of MD. I'm happy to say I've grown up with my MD family. I was in my early 20's then and now reaching 40. MD is a very solid staple in my life as I am sure it is with many others. I hope to never have removed. Maybe we can come together soon before the holidays take form and our time and have a moment together and if nothing else say a few words. Put our mind sets back at the beginning and be thankful for all the hard work and effort involved in what we all partake in and enjoy for so so many great years!2 points

I've held onto these Avatars long enough, and it's time to share them! If anyone wants one (for free), send me a message. I don’t want these to gather dust in someone else’s vault, as they did in mine. The art deserves to be appreciated and displayed. So, one per person, ideally for someone who will use it. I understand our community is smaller now, so this may not be possible, but I hope to find them good homes. Dragon gone2 points

DISCLAIMER Many of the records in this archive are ancient, some of the concepts presented here i perfected, fine-tuned over the years, others are not even things i agree with. I kept the views of who wrote the posts as they where, as they are valuable research. Many things found in the archvies are common knowledge in MD now, but please keep in mind that at the time of their writing, these where secrets. These archives are a journey into the past.2 points -
(I decided to try to write a story for fun, I will be releasing some short parts of it in irregular intervals. Maybe more people will read it when it is not one long paragraph, hmm. The main idea of this story is to.. give certain areas in MD a bit of attention and life, I guess. I would be happy for any feedback. ) As a certain author once wrote: „Scientists have calculated that the chances of something so patently absurd actually existing are millions to one. But magicians have calculated that million-to-one chances crop up nine times out of ten. „ And so, a young knator ended up on a Gateway Island. It was unknown what took him away from the deep Loreroot forest, whether it was someone fooling around with spells or a hole in a reality. But one thing was for sure. The knator did not have the slightest idea how to get back. It was confused. And scared. It wanted to be home, in the forest, not.. whenever it currently was. Looking around, the knator found only an empty beach, a tall cliff, and an ocean. Above the ocean, there was a storm. It was not moving left nor right. As if it was just.. floating there. And getting larger. And larger. The young knator realised that he needed to find a place to hide. And fast. PS: I thought knators had tails, but now that I am looking, I can't find any in the pictures2 points

It would be nice to be able to see either publicly or privately on profile page under an avy (or when hovering over avy on profile page) the artist that drew it just to pay homage to current and past artists. When I see a really nice avy I always wonder who drew it. It could also potentially help said artist to get more work commissioned.1 point

I personally like the idea and think it could help boost some activity , an optional extra thing for people to do that requires you to take care of the pet. They could grow with age. Personally I'd like a cat or a parrot. Or maybe these should be unique MD pets not found in RL.1 point

Basically quitting. I gave all my items out. As many already know thanks to ledah yes I am blackshade. I tried to rebuild into a new and more liked character. An it did well for a while until ledah had decided to kill me at every mp stage and I'm sure had dst do her alt check on me. It was obvious. However I was inactive for so long this year on this account as I lost a lot this year. I lost my brother and mother in a car accident, and just recently not many months ago the woman I am with had a miscarriage. I came back to try and have an escape and maybe get my mind off things but even on Xmas day and not talking to ledah he still kills me out of spite, for the fun of it cause he knows I am blackshade. Players like ledah and dst are the sole reasons so many quit playing other than just real life. Players such as them will also end up being the downfall of MD. To much power and no one can stop them or touch them. Kill items need a heavy re-evaluation as with the population less than what I believe is 10 players now, what's even left of MD anymore? So many new features and everything, while some are nice and would had been more nice if a bigger population there's basically no need for anything new except to appease chew and the demon themselves and what very very very little players bother to stick around. After my killing on Christmas I am completely done playing. I won't be buying items and won't be associating with basically any one or even leaving the scene I am in. I have locked myself in my scene and here I will stay and continue to slowly watch MD die. Aia I greatly appreciate the revive and I'm sorry you wasted a coin on me for such. Ledah, I really really REALLY hope one day while your in the east that you click on something Mur created and it takes every single item and creature you have. I know there used to be such clickies and I really hope you click one. You are highly undeserving of the power you have but your lucky chew favors you. While he may deny it, the population knows he does favor you, an that and the low population seems to be the only reasons your abuse and abusive power goes unlooked. To everyone else I enjoyed playing. I enjoyed our quests and even enjoyed the very small few whom we became friends in real life. I'm sorry to leave. And those that left too I'm sorry for that also as I know why you/they left. I do hope one day life comes back to MD but I unfortunately don't ever see the population growing again due to such players I mentioned above. So good luck all. If ever wanting to talk in game come find me or send a message. I'll be on once a day I guess out of hope. But even in that hope I'm not playing anymore. Projects now just go unfinished an or forgotten about and I just can't keep watching something I loved true and dear keep dying while the reasons go unpunished. Fairwell all. Good luck MD1 point

that could work .. Christmas time sounds a bit better than md birthday in terms of free time..or not? Planning it for later is good because gives everyone time to decide. maybe i could prepare some signup thing, so we are sure we can count on a number of people. Its funny if you think of it, as if the person is the mask for the player character, not the other way around. We should find a way to present it as such , like a reversed masked carnival party.. not sure if i am clear enough, i'm very tired rn.1 point -
I think @Muratus del Mur and @Sir Blut have brought some great ideas to the table. Perhaps we should put some effort into this and these ideas, also since there is a greater player presence during the holiday season... Maybe plan it for or around a holiday. Or would it be more appropriate to schedule this for the MD birthday? I kinda vote to plan it on MD's next birthday. That should give plenty of time for planning. Work and home keep me plenty tied up, but I could aim to set something if somebody would like to help me. I welcome some help. Lets make this a ritual things every year for MD birthdays! A new MD tradition? I think yes.1 point

Actually, since you mentioned "Zoom" that honestly sounds like an amazing idea. I don't recall ever going on a zoom meeting with everyone from MD. That would be a phenomenal idea and feat to pull off. Would really be great to chat, even if briefly. Would add some depth do us as individuals. Like you said, from 20 to 40 we are different people at those ages. Maybe a vote is in order to see if everyone is OK with a Zoom meet and greet. And see what time frame works best for everyone. May need to plan for two meetings, to cover everyone.1 point

Scene research or yet another interesting MD "coincidence"?
Muratus del Mur reacted to Aelis for a topic
I was thinking about the relation between Mur,the Lands of the East and its unique features as a land and I found this "art imitates life" coincidence (tried to get the right angle as best as I could): If you look at it from other perspectives, you can see that the details on the top of the columns and the triangular bit above the columns (I don't know how to name it) are very similar to the temple in our realm. One last observation: pay attention to the heart-shaped thingy on the lower part of the rightmost gate. It reminds me of Marind Bell's gates, which feature a somewhat similar detail. I wonder what else can one find given enough patience to (digitally) wander around these streets...1 point -

(Part 5) The lightning crashed, the wind howled, the sand flew around. And as rapidly as it started, all of it.. ended. The knator survived the storm, mostly unhurt. Maybe a new one would come soon. But this one passed, and he was still alive. The knator lifted his head up. For the first time in a while, he could actually see around himself. A field of grass was around him and the tree, with a single dirt road. A couple of small boulders were lying in the grass. Nearby, a single scarecrow stood, undisturbed as if the storm was unable to touch it. Similarly, a statue atop a pile of boulders stood near the dirt road. As if the fate was making fun of knator, he even spotted a cave entrance in a hill not so far from where he was. It would make a very good place to hide. Looking up at the tree, he wondered why the birds did not go there to hide from the storm. Well, a single bird, now. It was looking around, its eyes dim, not focusing on anything, just searching. It did not find what it was looking for. “Kaw.” And from behind the bird, from a place which it protected with its whole body, a young voice resounded. “Caw?”1 point

Quest Sponsorship Offer
Aamon reacted to Kyphis the Bard for a topic
Are you an aspiring quest creator looking to enrich the community? Do you have an idea that you think will be fun? Do you wish you had more rewards to offer your participants? Well you are in luck, because that's where I come in! As a relatively retired long, long time player, I have a decent stockpile of things that, simply put, I don't need to have. If you have a quest you are looking for other players to sponsor, please send me a short forum message telling me about your quest and I will happily help sponsor it. Mostly I will be offering Silver Coins, Gold Coins, and Credits, however for the right quests I will even offer Items and Creatures. This is a permanent offer until I post on this thread saying it is no longer available.1 point -

I used to be the adept of Aethon. But I haven't see him for...almost a decade. So I'd like to change my worship. And after the hibernation, my mails are cleared so that I lost all my track to my previous memory, for the lore, for the triggers. I'm looking for someone I could contribute to and learn from.1 point

I had an idea sort of similar to this one but I think it's different enough to make a separate post. Mounts. For example a horse or a dragon that you also need to take care of, feed, water it. It would have it's own set of AP (either not much or a decent amount with longer cooldown. Maybe enough to just get through one side of a land to another) that is spent when you are mounted instead of your personal AP. Would require rest and food and water to regenerate it. It should maybe require a quest to earn one, a ritual or building one. Shouldn't be very easy to get. Maybe an icon next to playername or avy to show you are mounted or a automated text in chat like "*playername mounts mountname*" I would personally use it mostly for RP purposes and wonder if anyone else thinks this is a cool idea.0 points
