11. I wasn't around for the events over the weekend. I'm not hiding and will answer any questions put to me. I don't agree with a lot of what happened, but I wasn't there, so I don't have all the facts. What I will say is that there are a lot of half truths and lies flying around. I'm also seeing a lot of finger pointing and name calling going on. There are a lot of people who seem to be using these events as some kind of a game or a way to achieve their own ends. Good luck with that. I've been in Loreroot a long time. I've worked to keep things going in Loreroot. So have other people. I also notice the way the opinions of these people seem to count for very little, if anything at all. When your all done fighting with each other, perhaps you could let the people in Loreroot get back to being just that; the people of Loreroot. Let us rebuild what has been torn down and smashed asunder. I will say one thing though. Loreroot is Loreroot. It isnt Savel, or Nelya, or GG, or MRD or any other individual or place. An individual or ideal is not a land, it is the people. An individual cannot maintain their legacy, it is the people that do that. Kings are crowned and die, armies fight battles, but it is always the people that remain. There are plenty of people in Loreroot, who love the land and wish to care for it and its traditions. Leave it to the people who care for it and it will prosper and flourish with love and care. Otherwise your just digging more holes in flowerbed for no good reason.
12. I would like to apologise on behalf of Loreroot for what happened concerning MRD. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and freedom of speech. The actions taken against MRD for his opinions were also unjust and undeserved. Without trying to belittle or insult MRD's and other people's outrage at what happened, I will only ask that you consider that the views of the few, do not represent the views of the many. Sometimes things are said in the heat of the moment. We are all human and prone to error and bad judgement at times. With deepest regret, Firs, Envoy of Loreroot.
13. Well I believe an Irishman got through it first. Sooo thats the Grandslam and first to solve the maze. Go team Ireland!!
14. First up, I like Aia. Now that I got that out of the way I can go on. I can understand Mur's decision to allow people to enter the HC again on the basis that they may have been cheated out of a chance to win by other people's behaviour or whatever. However, I dont understand why Aia gets to reenter, when she has already won? This isnt meant to be an attack on Aia or anyone or a whine (I didnt even bother to do heads this month and Im not MP4), but I dont see any logic in this at all. Ok, the heads is not fair, but are we now in the business of letting people win multiple times? Fair enough, the HC doesnt have to be perfectly balanced, but if it swings way off into madness what is the point of it? If people can start calculating and manipultating it, it starts to become less of a contest and more of a syndicated tool to be used and abused. One more point. I love the way people say that life isnt fair. This is a game. Games have rules and the general point of rules in games is to create some sort of level playing field for those involved. What is the point in having a game, where regardless of skill or devotion, the cards will always be stacked against you? We play games, read books, watch movies etc to get away from the harsh realities and unfairness of real life. Do people honestly want to play and enjoy games where they can be screwed over and cheated all the time, or never have a fair crack at winning? Games arent all about winning, but there is no fun if you know that you can never win either. Games are not real life. You should be able to win and they should be fair.
15. Yeah I have to admit that if its based on RP, there are one or two odd choices on that list.
16. Hubris? Happily (we) Unashamedly Beseach (that) Raven (be) Installed (as) Sovereign
17. Ok, nice idea, but that is more of a game implementation thing. That is really up to Mur. Still nice idea I think.
18. Right folks I'm looking for letters from people on things that would make their day. Send me a PM with: I) Your request II)The reasons why you would like it III)The reason why you feel you deserve it Please dont ask for stuff with an obvious credit value like a Rustgold Drachorn etc. Whacky is permitted though. Finally, there is no gaurantee that you will get anything or that your letter will be published, but you never know!
19. Count me in. You might as well let me go along, because I'll just follow ye anyway! You never know when a drink might come in handy.
20. Well, I'd be up for some general silliness items, like I mentioned in that post in the wrong place as it where. Stimulating interviews on important topics such as your favourite colour. I'm also trying to organise a boozey doo around MD. Things are starting to shape up and I was thinking we could write a report on the antics for the event. Anyway, I'll help in any way I can, so you can just ask me to do boring stuff like proof read etc if you want.
21. Well in the interest of stopping this topic from turning into a Glaistig and Gargant yoyo fest:- I'd like to volunteer my services. I was thinking of maybe having an alliance section for the paper? Or a spotlight on an alliance each issue, where the alliances get to talk about themselves or whatever they want. You could let me do a special Firs section, but to be honest I couldnt guarantee the sanity of that section. Infact, I'd pretty much guarantee that it would be completely pointless, but hopefully entertaining. (notice I said but there, no guarantees on that either) Perhaps an interview with Firs, where I interview people and ask them thought provoking and highly intelligent and stimulating questions (i.e what is your favourite colour, who is the hottest man/woman in MD). If you want a section on booze and tobacco, well Im your man for that, no question about it.
22. Yeah, this is long overdue, not to mention it gets awkward for people to recognise the followers of the Children of the Eclipse. Please make the Children of the Eclipse an official alliance/guild.
23. Same happened to me today MD.bmp
