1. I simply sought to step down without a fuss. Some of my reasons are personal and in my opinion not for public consumption. If people are that concerned they are free to ask me and I will answer them, I just don't feel like airing my personal business to all and sundry. As for your mood or my response, well you will have to forgive me, but you seemed to focus on certain things in MD and that coupled with your general reaction to people when quitting, well it felt more like an accusation than a question. You are more than welcome to discuss anything with me privately if you wish. You have multiple ways to contact me. I simply don't want to be discussing this to the general public.
2.
I wonder why you resigned however. was it the kingslayer rumor spread by granos? was it the constant harrasing done by eon? was it the perpetual discontent you had with how things go in md? were feeling allone as the only king left? its obviously better you tell than let people, including me, jump to conclusions or make suppositions. (i will detail about some of things i mentioned above in a separate topic)
Does it really matter? Is this a genuine question out of genuine interest or something else? I notice you never listed something like a real life issue. Do my reasons really make a difference?
3. I've decided to resign as king. The new year will see elections for 3 kingships, might as well make it 4. I'll remain on and do what needs doing till then. I will send on the Wp info requested next week and do some other jobs that need doing. Other than that I guess it is business as usual until then.
4. Can Innocence please contact me with regards to this please?
5. Happy travels. Hope you find a safe and pleasant harbour.
6. Women who practice magic. Men can be witches too, however they are usually referred to as Warlocks rather than witches. Witches are generally seen to practice magic involving nature or sometimes they are seen as consorting with the demonic. Their spells usually take the form of curses or potions. They are classically portrayed as using cauldrons to brew potions or spell casting. Also associated with black cats and flying around on brooms. An unliked or nasty woman may be referred to as a witch. Especially if she happens to be your mother in law (Hey, don't shoot me, it is what some people say!) . Thats all I can think of right now without just copying stuff from wikipedia.
7. That is what I am trying to do Rhaegar. Maybe I am doing it wrong. But I am trying to raise awareness. I don't think a little committee of people is the answer. I think people need to be yelled at and shamed into looking at it. Hence my threads, hence titles like Shameful MD and Naked Truth. Things will not change unless the folks at the top take notice and accept that there is a problem. The fact that anyone has agreed with me at all, either by scoring my posts in a positive manner or responding personally has been completely overlooked or discounted as being the prattle of mindless Lorerootians. Something which itself is indicative of the problem (and for those people who love to just continue this, please at least try to consider for a minute that not all the people that have complained, or whined as you put it are from Loreroot. At least admit to that). I don't have all the answers, I don't pretend to, despite what some people think. It is a little bit sad how quick some people have been to simply dismiss me or tell me I am simply doing it wrong. Why not give a meaningful suggestion on how I may do it right then? Or better yet, go do it. Show me and everyone else how it is done.
8. Rhaegar, How many LHOs are from Loreroot? Also, how many events has Loreroot run each year? Because I think that there has not been a year since I have been king that Loreroot has not organised some kind of event. There have been fighting events, quiz things and other contests. There is a constant quest running from Mya aimed at newbies and letting people into Loreroot. And even if you don't like them there are the services etc that COE do. Now, what events have been run by MB? GG? or Necro? By the way, I don't care about what other lands do or do not do event wise. I for one am not having a poke at the other lands or kings, but I feel that seeing as you are saying that Loreroot does nothing and not bothering to mention anyone else; well I thought I'd just make the point that perhaps, just perhaps you are being unfair? (I am sure there have been events run, I don't keep track because I don't keep score, so don't bother to list them. I am simply making the point that you are saying something that is untrue).
Authority can be made without additional game mechanics gadgets, it is a social thing, it is in organization...
And finally someone gets it. You cannot solve a social problem like bullying or harrassment or what have you with a game mechanic or tool such as a needle. The tool itself can simply be used as a tool to further these social problems and therefore end up adding to the problem instead of fixing it. You don't hand out knives or guns to school kids to stop bullying etc. You don't hand out knives or guns to ordinary citizens to attack people that are making their life hell. While MD is not exactly real life some things still hold true. Social issues needs social and socially created organisational responses and safeguards, not user enabled revenge.
9. I am not taking credit Awiiya. Please do presume to think that I am. But I am saying that there is a potential silver lining. Ohh, and the gambler is always to get the credit or the blame. They rolled the dice, the dice don't roll themselves And it would also be nice if maybe you took the time to point out when people were being directly insulting as opposed to just 'moderately and ambiguously insulting'.
10.
"i never appologized" ..maybe true..this is beacause appology is in my view a cowardly reaction aimed to save us from the effects of our mistakes. I do however admit when i am wrong and by not appologising I show i take full responsability for my own mistakes.
Actually, from my point of view apologising IS showing and taking responsibility for your mistakes. Simply saying nothing gives the impression that you either don't care, don't acknowledge or are too cowardly to admit the mistake in the first place. And you never apologised or admitted you were in error. I'd have taken an admission as at least a grudging apology. Where I am coming from that is a complete lack of respect. As for comments about my posting things. If you bother to look you will see that I have managed to get a HUGE debate about things going. There is also talk about people doing something now. Something that Mur himself was saying he was annoyed about the lack of. But feel totally free to focus only on the negative.
It honestly seems that way, because I don't recall any time I've seen a Lorerootian disagree with Firs since he became king. Well, there were, but they ain't Lorerootians anymore. It may seem biased, but it's not really, I haven't seen any kind of initiative in Loreroot in the past year regarding anything, except Mya's quest tho I'm not familiar with its details.
Surely you guys can do better than that? Especially when you know fine well that is a load of tripe. Now if you don't mind I am off to hide the brainwashing machine. Wouldn't want you to find it after all. It would take me ages to build another one. Of course, if you did, It might make me go make one that didn't only just work on intelligent people.
11. I decided I have enough and I am going to say exactly what I think. In some ways this should be private between Mur and myself. But in other ways, no it deserves to be public. Mur says he allows free speech and this is the view of ONE person in MD. Anyone is free to agree or disagree with me, so by making this public I am opening myself up to as much insult, injury or plain old abuse as Mur is getting from me because of what I have written (or not). I will apologise for hurt I may cause, but I will not apologise for my view on things. Over time I have brought things up I have been unhappy with. I have written lengthy threads/emails about things. Undoubtedly some of it has been seen as stupid, wrong, preaching, longwinded, call it what you will. I am sure that at times I have not been as right as I felt. But I have always said what I believed to be true. Your response to this has usually taken the form of a very personal attack. You have called me a coward, stupid, naïve, lazy among other things. And yes you have actually put it quite plainly as ‘you are a coward’ ‘you are incompetent’ etc etc. And I mean plainly to me, not even when you go off calling the kings in general inept or what have you. You say I whine. You seem to think that all I do is whine. Well, you should look in the mirror bud. On more than one occasion you have had a good old whine about how you are fed up dealing with ‘stuff’ (I want to use a different S word here, but I will refrain even though I believe it is appropriate) and that you setup the kings and the council etc to deal with it. That you shouldn’t have to respond to things. Newsflash! YOU set them up. You setup the council and you complain it isn’t working or doing its job. Well, YOU appointed the council. YOU also set the council up to make decisions, to be autonomous. Yet on at least one occasion YOU personally stepped in and over-ruled the council. So YOU undermined the council. If you feel that the council is not working then YOU can change the people on it, the format of it or YOU can remove it. (By the way, I could tell you why they don’t work, I have tried to point out an error with at least one, but you simply ignore it as whining. But suffice it to say that simply changing the people will not actually change much if anything at all) In one of my last outbursts to the council YOU responded personally. And yes, your answer was VERY personal. You even went to far as to point out that you were being gracious enough to not punish me for my use of bad language. For anyone that is interested, my language was most foul, it was intended to be to stress my annoyance. It seems that this is what saved me from punishment. Now, the thing is, this was a letter sent to the council, not broadcast on the forum. As such, I view this as private. So, YOU may feel it was improper or foul or anything you like. But quite frankly it was private, not public. On the other hand, YOU dragged this matter onto the forums. While not obvious to anyone not privy to the private matter, YOU did this nonetheless. And your reason for doing this was for YOUR satisfaction. To be fair, when I complained you did remove it. However, I am sure that was just another example of whiny Firs and you felt you better do it rather than listen to me whine about it some more (I am being sarcastic, I would like to believe that you removed it due to sincerity, but you never apologised, so I will never really know perhaps). When people use certain words on the forums they have been told to change them or had them changed and even warned and told off for their language or banned etc. And we are talking about words that do not begin with F here and words that many would view as no issue at all I might add. Yet YOU have used the F word on the forums and I have not seen or heard of anything being said to you. It seems that there is a rule for everyone else and a different rule for YOU. YOU want people like me to use the needles to see Eon bring a case for being bullied. YOU want other people to do this. Why should I or anyone else doing something that YOU are not willing to do? And WHY are we seemingly ignoring any issue with anyone else being bullied because YOU want people to gang up on Eon and have Eon bring a case first? YOU can call me stupid or lazy or a coward or anything YOU want. But, I WILL NOT do something that YOU will not do yourself. It starts from the top. YOU cannot expect people to do things you are unwilling to do YOURSELF. Either a rule about bad language on the forums applies to everyone or it does not apply at all. YOU are not and cannot be the exception to the rule. Owners/Moderators of a forum cannot police rules they themselves do not respect. It is hypocritical and makes the rules itself void. You talk about respect. Well, I may have said things you didn’t like. I may have said things that were wrong. BUT, I have never disrespected you by calling you names or attacking your character. You may feel that I have and you may feel that I am doing so now. But I have never treated you with contempt and I have never ridiculed you for my own amusement. I have also had the decency to apologise to you when I have gone too far or at least felt I had. NEVER, NOT ONCE HAVE YOU APOLOGISED TO ME. I don’t need an apology to feel better about myself by the way. I don’t need you to tell me I am not a coward or stupid or anything else. I know exactly what I am. I know my faults and failings and I know when someone is talking through their rear end in what they are calling me. And for the record. There is no brainwashing going on in Loreroot that I am aware of. There may have been in the past and I was one of the people that brought it to your attention. Yet it seems that whenever you get a bit annoyed with me you role that one out. If it ain’t you that does it, somebody else does and you are happy to let it out there. I have not asked anyone to leave MD or to hate you or anyone else. I have not tried to create some kind of mini group within MD with some strange and pointless aim of ruining MD. People in Loreroot do not have some kind of organised hate MUR, or dst or anyone else campaign going despite what some people like to think or even insinuate on the forums. I actually find the notion mildly amusing and completely at odds with the fact that you think I just do nothing but whine. You can content yourself that the only people that agree with me are the whiners in Loreroot. What saddens me is that you don’t take a step back and realise that like it or no, that is a percentage of the population in MD. That it is so easy to simply write all those people off as some kind of whiner fruitcakes. We are all from different countries, different religions, ethnic groups, coulours, capabilities, attitudes, experiences, age, sex, you name it. But it all boils down to Loreroot = whiners. That is not an indictment of the people in Loreroot, that is an indictment of YOU. You allow this mentality to foster and it seems that you share it yourself. In fact, I would argue that it is because YOU hold this view that others share it. Like it or not, MD is your creation and YOU have a public that YOU can preach YOUR ideas and opinions to. And many people hold YOU up to be some kind of deity, hero, oracle, font of knowledge, whatever you like. Ironically, like a god, you seem dismayed and bewildered and angry that you have given your children such wonderful gifts and we have chosen to not use them as you expected us to. It’s hard when mere mortals cannot grasp the magnitude of the divine vision and wisdom. I am not saying that you want that. In fact I believe that you are uncomfortable with it and I consider that to be a good thing. But I equally feel that you sometimes forget that. Me or anyone else not agreeing with you is no bad thing either. You need to be told when you are talking rubbish (or at least when someone feels you are). I am not so sure that you handle that so well at times though. You have to realise that when you decide to put the boot in to someone you can expect a tide of people supporting you. But you have to accept that you will get that support even when you are wrong. And yes, like me there are times when you are wrong. Why? Because you are human, you make mistakes, like the rest of us (except of course dst, who is never wrong (there is an element of sarcasm there) ). I am far from perfect. There is always more I could do, should do even. But don’t dare to tell me to stop whining, or man up, or what have you, unless you are willing to do the same yourself. Stop blaming others, lead by example.
12. Yes Mur, whining is indeed trendy in Loreroot. As equally trendy as it is for you and others to whine about whiny Loreroot it seems. If I were dst what would I say? Ahh yes, you expect us to whine so we whine and when we whine you get annoyed that we whine and whine all the more about our whining.
13.
The law system in the outer world is not using any divine intervention to make justice, its using crime against crime, plain and simple...if you didn't realize that by now you are blind. If you don't understand that MD laws are meant to preserve the dynamics of this world and NOT to protect you or your safety you are naive.
Quite the contrary. When people see something they believe is wrong, even if it is not against the rules, or indeed part of the rules of society sometimes they take a stand. Often they organise a march and wave banners around and shout about it. This is an equivalent method within the constrains of MD. I have used it and you have noticed it. Maybe instead of having a blowout you should consider that? As for the needle? Naive is a word I would perhaps use concerning that. That is only my opinion on it though and maybe I am underestimating it. And yes, this topic was never about any one person, be it you, dst or Eon. But it is nice to see how people completely missed that point entirely. Ohh and by the way. It seems that apart from getting a good old argument going and at least getting some people to see what I was talking about, there is now one person actually starting to form a group on the basis of this thread. (I will be in touch with you Sephirah to enlist in a few days). Therefore I would call this a success. Not a resounding success with bells and whistles and a ticker tape parade perhaps, but a success nonetheless. Yup, just goes to show that whiners like me can do nothing but whine Now if you will excuse me I am off to smoke a ridiculously big cigar.
14. No, lets not lock it. Don't you see that is part of the problem? We start discussing something, ok it gets heated, we close the topic and move on and we are back to the same thing again only with different names being thrown around, or worse still, the same names, but just a different case. And I don't believe in a poxy poll. This is something that will not get solved because of a poll. It is an issue that needs to be addressed and the only way that can happen is if people open their eyes to it. Closing your eyes, or sticking your fingers in your ears will not make it go away (I mean generally speaking, not you Wanderer).
15. Look Darigan. It's your fault you got raped. I so told you that mini skirt you were wearing was much too high. I mean I could see your knickers for crying out loud. Hell, I am surprised you didn't get gang raped. You so deserved it so you did. What? blaming the victim is ok, but somehow it suddenly isn't when we use the R word? Can't have it both ways folks! You can't find one distasteful and not the other. (I can't edit the previous post)
16.
Eon would not have attacked darigan if he wouldn't have started a topic on the forum about that subject.
uummm.. ok I must be stupid, because I really don't understand that one. Darigan makes a topic that he is being attacked by Eon, but Eon only attacks Darigan because Darigan made the topic?? Chicken, egg, chicken? And putting aside what came first. The simple fact that Eon has decided to continually attack Darigan (or anyone else for that matter) for (insert any lame reason you decide to give) is ok? It is not at all in any way shape or form a form of bullying, intimidation, victimisation or whatever word fits best? I don't like your face, therefore I am going to attack you as much as I please? Even if you do decide it is fair, when exactly is it enough? Sacrifice your critters you say. Why should anyone feel they have to do that I ask? Is that not a sure sign that there is something badly wrong? Anyway, I'd like to say thanks for that post dst. As ever it may me smile to myself.
17. Well, my post doesn't say anything about where people come from. And to clarify, this is not something that is aimed at one person or group of people based on location. It is about people in MD in general, attitudes, actions and equally the lack thereof. If you identify, or think you can identify certain people then that just means you are aware of some of the things I am talking about. You can even argue it is obvious who I am talking about or what have you, but it can only be obvious if you are aware of something to begin with. It could be said that perhaps some people have a greater responsiblity than others, but that can be easy to say and might just be passing the buck.
18. Yes Rhaegar you are right. I really shouldn't have gone out of my way to attack you repeatedly, make awful remarks in your PL over and over again, follow you all over MD and Jail you time after time. There may be bad blood between us, but are you really implying that I actually went out of my way to harass you? You may feel I was unjust or wrong to do what I did to you, that is your right, but do you honestly feel that I have been persecuting you? I had hoped that perhaps you would get past things, I mean, despite what you may think, I don't go out of my way to insult you or talk about you to people. And yes, you should completely ignore anything I say based on the fact that you don't like me. It doesn't necessarily make me wrong.
19. So, basically I have to say this because if I don’t I will simply end up exploding in a very undignified manner and letting myself down. Laugh if you want to, I am past caring and in an odd way you will just endorse what I am saying in my view. MD encourages and fosters harassment, victimisation and bullying. MD is a game for bullies and blow-hards. It seems that MD has rules about using bad language and we have the word Nazis on patrol because we use a word like ‘crap’ or we have the sex patrol, out to make sure that we all remain chaste. Yes folks we need all these things because MD is a place where kids might hang out and they may be exposed to something that poor little children should remain protected from. But, bullying? Nah every kid needs a healthy dose of bullying don’t they? (And by the way, age is no excuse either, whether 9 or 99, nobody should be subjected to it and using the excuse that someone should be old enough to handle it is also just ignorant) For a long time now I have seen people in MD chased around the place. Spied on, called names or just being attacked over and over again. And what do people in MD do? Well, some people point out that no rules are being broken. That the person has said ability, so no matter how they choose to use it, it’s all good. When people actually dare to complain what happens? They get told they are talking rubbish, to grow up, to deal with it, to get their own back, that they are being babies, or even that you think it is hilarious or better still, there is no problem and that you would do exactly the same. And some of you endorse it by the virtue of saying nothing. I’ve seen people let themselves down in their reactions to things. Their arguments might reduce down to babbling and bad language and little else. However, I feel that there is an element in MD that just delight in that. It’s easy to laugh at the poor tortured soul having a meltdown. Bless them, they are clearly off their rocker. It seems that many people content themselves with the view that the person was just unstable or weak or immature to begin with. Let’s not waste time considering that perhaps there actually was a valid reason for them to complain in the first place. Or heaven’s forbid that perhaps we have a moral obligation to recognise that not everyone is as hardskinned or hardnosed as you may be? No, what we need to do is keep pushing and pushing someone that is clearly unhappy or distressed about something until they reach the point that they snap. And you know what, we can all have a jolly good laugh about it and then just sit back and wait for the next person to snap. Fun times indeed. Yeah, I have decided that I will just be a dick to someone today/this week/this year/forever and you know what? It’s totally fine. As long as I don’t break any rules, I can do whatever the hell I like. I mean, I can be a dick in real life, but chances are I would have to deal with my boss, my friends, family at some point or just get a plain old box in the face from someone. But, I don’t need to worry about that in MD. As long as I don’t actually break a rule I can be as big a jerk moron wallyface as I please. Yay for me! Go team jerk moron wallyface. Oh, you don’t like being called a jerk moron wallyface? Tough nuts jerk moron wallyface, I am not calling you a curse word, so neah neah neah. Ohh and by the way, you have a face like an elephant’s backside and your mother fed you with a slingshot you is so ugly. The other one I love is when a person acts like a jerk, but it’s ok, coz guess what? They are just like that. Yup, if you happen to be a total jerk it’s ok to act like one. But if you aint a jerk and you do something that someone thinks is a bit jerky, then yeah, you need to be told off for that one. Do you think that I am over-reacting? Maybe I am, I think not though. Come on Firs, harassment, victimisation, bullying? Awfully strong words there pal. I really don’t think that is true at all. Would it make it easier on you if I called it ‘socially undesirable behaviour’? I mean, cybersex is so obviously socially undesirable behaviour, but hounding people, calling them names, spreading lies about them, slagging them off as foolish or weak, well that is totally different right? I mean that is obviously acceptable behaviour. Chasing someone around and attacking them over and over again, for hours at a time even though they have asked you not to do so, that is ok too. I mean, it’s obvious that you are upsetting them, but hey, you aint breaking any rules right? And yeah, of course people are going to point that out and say it’s hilarious and they are such a stupid weak idiot, they like totally deserve it. Yeah, you go girl/guy! Shame on you people. Shame on you.
20. Chewy, there is another way to look at it. You devalue wishpoints. Because you can now buy a spell, you no longer need to get a wishpoint to get it. Seeing as you bring up Eon I also think you are missing the point Darigan is trying to make. Many spells have little effect on Eon in comparison to other people and in fact at least one spell seems to give Eon a further advantage, that advantage being that Eon can use send to GOE to send people there to be attacked and inflict further stat loss. Thus, Eon no longer has to chase people and they effectively cannot hide from Eon. Powerstones allow players to essentially stockpile spells too. Under normal circumstances you could say that, lets take the send to GOE spell, isn't a problem because a person can only cast it 4 times every two weeks. Sure Eon can teleport people to GOE, but only 4 times a fortnight right?. Wrong, this no longer holds true. With powerstones a person can increase the number of casts of any given spell they have. I will also point something else out. Said person sent Firs to the lighthouse in GG when Firs was dead. I didn't much find that funny. Sending me to a remote location in MD when I had no ability to move was not a whole lot of fun. And the thing is that I cannot simply return the favour. This is true for most people. So forgive me if I grow a little tired of hearing this argument about getting your own back. The situation with Eon is completely different from anyone else in MD. Anyone else in MD can teleport someone to GOE and attack them. BUT, nobody else in MD does statdamage to everyone else regardless.
21. I have to disagree Darigan. The real issue as I see it is memory stones. Currently only a few people actually have spells such as Send to GOE. And generally these spells have a particular reasoning and purpose. As Chewy stated, sending people hiding during TC. I myself have also used Send to GOE to help people that are stuck in the maze or some far flung part of MD that would require 5 billion Ap to get back from. No, as I see it the real issue is that with power stones, the number of people and number of casts of these spells has increased. There could be an argument that some spell simply shouldn't be traded perhaps. Or the trade on them be restricted somehow. On a personal note I feel that the spell trading is actually not a good thing. I feel that it cheapens the value of spells. Previously people got access to spells because of merit and/or because of WPs. Now it seems everyone can all have spells for a few coins. Mind you, you also need to point out that it is in part due to the people with these spells in the first place willing to trade them to line their pockets (or if you give the stone away as a reward or prize the recipient may well sell it on). Let the flaming commence.
22. This might be a bit ranty but... I hate this attitude. On a personal level I find that I am active in MD when MD is mainly dead. Now, that is my tough luck and that is just the way it is, nobody is to blame for that. Like a lot of people I have a full-time job that involves travelling to work and back. Some people in MD work from home, don't work or are students of some kind. If you work in an office for 8 hrs a day you probably spend another 1 hr (up to 2hrs total) either side of that travelling. Then when you get home there is the issue of food. Food does not magically appear in-front of me when I am at home. I have to purchase said food and then cook it. Both activities take time. So lets call that an hour a day for cooking and eating of said food. That's about 11hrs of the day gone. Given that I work and have to get up in the morning to be in at a particular time and then do said work, that means I cannot stay up all night long on MD. Sad to say it is a given that I must strive to allocate 8hrs for sleeping (even if I don't actually sleep for the 8hrs or at all). So that puts me up to 19 hours of my day gone. So, yeah, that gives me 5 full hours out of 24hrs to play MD! Err.. no. I have this thing that I like to call a life. A life involves many strange and wonderful things like, talking to friends and family, reading, watching TV and other interests, dealing with some kind of unforseen drama or crisis, or doing further education (which I am doing). Then there are holidays. Yes, if I happen to book my hols months in advance and don't turn up to a set time and location in MD that is maybe even only announced while I am away on hols then I obviously don't care. Shame on you Firs for daring to go on a holiday. I was away this year for the festival around Easter. Because I was away that meant that I could not receive any medals etc. I would say that you could be online for hours on end in MD almost 365 days of the year, but if you happen to be unavailable at just a particular time and place in MD you get nada, or even worse, you are seen to be not bothered? I am pretty sure that there are many people in MD that can say the same for themselves and feel as I do. (This statement is in no way meant to offend people that have no life or the dead or undead. Any similarities portrayed here with real persons are purely coincidental.)
23. Sorry folks, maybe it's the Irish factor, but no, a triskele would not suit Necrovion I feel. The triskele is a much more than just a nice looking symbol and I for one believe that it definately does not suit Necrovion. If you were looking for an actual existing symbol to use, I would look more towards something like a Ying Yang symbol.
24. Grido, I don't want to get into who did what or he said she said. But, in very basic terms it seems that you dismissed POE for shall we say: Conduct Unbecoming an LHO. Now, we can argue over the wherefores and whys, but essentially that is in essence why she was demoted. It seems to me that most of the people posting on this thread feel that other LHOs are perhaps guilty of the same offence (not the same crime or anything, but Conduct Unbecoming). I want to say something about my view on LHOs before going further. I see LHOs as being a very important part of MD. I think that overall they do a good job and most likely a job that can perhaps feel thankless or demanding at times. However, LHOs do get rewards for this. You can say it is little or no reward, but there is one there. LHOs by virtue of the role they perform, become the fist point of contact for a lot of people in MD. This in itself its own advantages. Like it or not, the actions of LHOs give an impression of MD. Even if an LHO does something, not as an LHO, it still can reflect on the image of LHOs. It is a simple fact of life that if someone goes to jail in real life, they will tend to be mistrusted by other people, regardless of the offence they went to jail for or even if it subsequently arises that they were innocent. Some people may feel that LHOs should not be trading creatures to newbies or at all. You could also argue that it is unfair to restrict LHOs from such activities. I am not saying what is right or wrong. What I am saying though is it seems that there is an issue with what conduct is acceptable and what isn't for an LHO. Perhaps that should be addressed? On a completely personal note, (but not related to the fact that it was POE, I'd say this regardless of the person involved) I think removing someone from their position publicly, without speaking to them first is poor form. I understand that POE was not around, but surely it could have waited a few more days before you took action? And if POE is correct, you could have at least taken the time to write to her personally. Regardless, you acted before giving POE any chance to state her side of things and again I find that to be poor form. I'm sorry about this coming across as a personal attack. And I am aware that some people will probably say that I am simply sticking up for POE. The fact is that I am not questioning your decision to remove her. What I am questioning is the manner in which it was done and the obvious questions this issue has raised with regards to LHO conduct and punishment. Perhaps a positive outcome for this would be for people to have some say on how they feel LHOs should behave and what is or is not acceptable? I also don't agree with an LHO being punished or admonished even, because of one or two people complaining. Some people will inevitably complain because of personal gripes/issues or misunderstandings. However, what is the number of complainants needed before an LHO may be spoken to or action taken against them? Also, should the general public have an opportunity to have a say in regards to a person being made LHO in advance of it happening? It might help to avoid some of the current issues. I accept that I come across as poking my finger at you personally here. But I feel that I am not alone in the questions that I have here and I have tried to at least open up avenues that may need to be looked at for the future, rather than simply screaming about what has just happened. I'll finish by saying that LHOs are human and make mistakes. Overall people do need to realise this and cut them some slack and not want their head, for any and every mistake made.
