How would we know, IAB? No one has reached it yet? Unless you do some coding and tricky magic. Awi
Magic, And trust him. He is correct. Iv checked
  2. Welcome, Shame on you to not join the forum before. Have a good time here, you should fit in well
  3. Hey RJ. i hear you. Do you think i should post a monthly list of insults i recieve? because im sure we could teach some non english people A LOT of swearwords if i did that.
  4. I Agree, The people chosen by Mur have been chosen because he believes and trusts them. If you were to let anyone be a heads mod that would mean that suddenly you have 50+ moderators. All of which will likely not know the rules nor be Neutral. This last HC has proven that this is not something that anyone can do.
  5. You make a very good point Phantasm. Many rpcs do not bother doing things once they have become Rpc. Others continue to Rp and Make some devilishly hard quests. It all depends on the Rpc and what you see an Rpc is, Some Have a more Admin role, Such as grido. Rpcs are central to the game but that shouldnt really be the case in my view. It should be the players. Rpcs should not automatically gain respect for what they are, But should like all players gather it slowly as people see what they do and say. It all depends on the rpc, Some are good some are bad. Just like everyone else.
  6. What about Oldest Char still playing? Not includeing Mur and Akasha ofc. Like a title of something thats passed on?
  7. Just a small problem there, I wont ever want to participate in a HC Because im the weakest ever and the whole system has screwed my char, But im an rpc who doesnt have a HC medal... So if i wanted to participate, I couldnt in either... Just a small thought to rpcs that havnt won hc.
  8.
umm chewett you got a lil mistake there bud i made it up!! did i evr say it was a fact nope i sure didnt so plz make sure you know what your taling nout before you open your mouth -thnx redneck^^
Thats the problem... You cant make up history. You need to think and research. That was the point i was trying to make If you want an alliance to research a land, you need to actually research it. You cant just make up facts and then get an alliance.
Ibelieve we should hold a competition for this... To name the first year. I don't know if we should name the previous years or not... But I am thinking something should identify which age/year we came from. Perhaps a small design on our profile? Where our age markers are since the age marker stops counting at a year?
Does that mean i can say i am before time began? i like something with a number, so i know immediatly how long ago it was It it was year of the Dracorn i will then have to either look up or remember what year number that is. I prefer numbers to names. Or perhaps we use both
  10.
i would say fixing tokens and creature auras are meant to be fixed first.. since more player count are in that area.. and you will satisfy more players if you solve that area first.
actually if you go by the poll it should be tokens and then factions, But since factions seem a way off and tokens are very tricky, Let Mur fix what he wants, he has to have some fun with this.
  11.
We are an aliance/group that researches the Tribunals . we research everything about the Tribunals. We research and learn more about the Natives that live in the Tribunal and what dislikes tem and what likes them. We research what lives in the tribunals and not just the NAtives maybe other things live in the Tribunals. My aliance/group stands for the research of the Tribunals. We will research day and night and learn as much as we can about the tribunals. We will not quit researching. The Tribunals researchers are only allowed to research the Tribunals and never give up. The Tribunals Researchers never give up NEVER EVER. They will research about the Natives mostly cause thats what we have been called for. The background history if the Tribunals. The land of th Tribunals was created for the Native people of the land. The natives where created to destroy the demons that escaped from Necro into the Trubinals. The street was roamed with goblins and evil crits. Then one day acouple outsiders decided they wanted to know more so they passed thrpughh the emtrance of the Tribunals and sought to defeat the evil crits. That didnt work so well so they caught up with some scientist one night in the Pub thats was built in the 1200s by The evil crits and we planned a solution for the evil stuff thsat was living in the Tribunals at the time. They worked hard all night and all day then one day they got an idea and that iea was to go to the well and start pumping it to see what they got. They got this nasty goopy stuff. They then decided to mix it with there poition and it worked . The group decided to test it on a evil being and see what it did. They tested it on the evil being and it made him turn into a native that was strong and powerful well they made thousands of poitions and got rid of most of the evil beings. You might wanna be careful lurking around the Tribunals because the group never went under the city to get the rest of the Evil beings
Where did you get this infomation. You did just make it up didnt you? The natives where created to destroy the demons that escaped from Necro into the Trubinals. - BS The street was roamed with goblins and evil crits. - BS They got this nasty goopy stuff. They then decided to mix it with there poition and it worked - BS I cant find anything that isnt made up. Show me some facts and i might believe you. This is not theories it is blatant lies.

And they all asked for an alliance like you have BTW: Forum admin is professional. Chewett is not. Chewett is annoyed.
  13. Redneck you havent planned this. You havent got any Role at the moment, If i see this group functioning without an alliance i would definately help yet i feel you have just went "i want an alliance, Im going to make up some shit to get it" For all your infomation you have said, you have made it up. I have checked with grido, You have made it up, Everything you said to me. This is not the professional Forum Admin, This is my personal opinion and i an annoyed at your insults towards me. Im Annoyed, i have seen so many people go "I WANT AN ALLIANCE" and none of them got one.
  14.
oh and btw i just got acess to those items as well, adn would the i-frame tags also work in teh scripting? as i might run out of space in my quest.... as this is how i plan to start getting my creature book out there.
It does work. And is the only way to embed a lot of stuff into the rpc objects and papers

    Md 3D

Based on my experiance the likely things that would take up the serverload would be the php files (everything being computed) and the flash images. If you think about it the jpg's and such really are only a very small part of MD and most browsers will catch these very quickly

they can be viewed yes, But can you see all of the scenes and all of the hidden parts of the scene? Its relatively hard to do that, yet if you download it you can see everything by just navigating the folders. Something i dont think Mur would want.
I fully support the client idea, however, it is far from an easy implementation. I think there is a simpler approach, but one that yields the same advantages: a form of advanced caching. Allow players to download the MD content (that which is readily available such as scene, creature, player, alliance etc, images) and store it on their computers, then give a field for them to specify where to load the files from. If new content is released, it will look it up in the stored vault and if not found, download it from the site. Our browsers already do this caching, but not on such a permanant basis. Consider this: every scene takes at minimum 100kb to download, yes, I realise it doesn't sound like much but for someone with only 20mb to use it is plenty and multiply it by all players getting new content, but now instead of loading it from the site, it is loaded from the player's computer. You decrease load time for the player, save on bandwidth, and free up the server. It wouldn't require recoding of the game, the same variables are passed to the pages but the content just gets found locally. Nothing new here, our browsers already cache websites.
its a good idea for such games where hidden content doesnt matter, yet if you were going to remap the images to a local drive that would mean that they would all be viewable. Something that i didnt think mur would want. As then you would be able to look at all of the locations and creatures. Which is something that i dont think Mur would approve.
  18. No RP on the forum. This is this posts warning, If anyone does it again, you will be "warned" Just because the post is about rp, we still dont rp on the forum.
  19. Hell to you too Have fun on the forum, if confused... dont pm grido, he doesnt help with confusion.
  20. as grido mentioned it conflicts with the friends list, But also it conflicts with what Mur has said previous (if i remember correctly) you will never be able to type in someones name and pm them or find where they are. you cant do that IRL, so why here?
  21.
Chewett, today I heard Grido slept. That's a good enough reason to reset his reputation. Awi
i will probably do it tonight when he isnt sober Please vote, For i like polls http://magicduel.invisionzone.com/topic/4973-reputation-on-the-forum/
Programming a 3D game isn't the largest part of the work. - It would be quite boring to do, since every line of MD code in existence would have to be adapted into the new engine. - There are good libraries available to jump start your project. However making 3D models for everything takes ages. Right now it already takes a lot of time for new 2D avatars to be released. Efficiency: in a continuous 3D world every time a player moves even a single pixel, the server needs to recalculate the distance to the nearby players and determine if it is now/still in visible/audible range. All those that are in range should be told the player did move. In order for it to look natural, your visual range should be quite large: people shouldn't suddenly appear before your nose. Assume then that people would move about as often as the frequency of speech is now... the server load increases a lot. And then you should increase the update frequency, because you want fluid motion. Making a 2d client that is not browser based, could improve efficiency by storing more data on the players' computers. This is valid for 3d too, but I doubt it outweighs the overhead from calculating and transmitting position updates. RP: *sparkly blue text* will remain just that. You can only make a finite number of animations available and if you want to use a different kind of *RP action* than those that are animated... though luck.
Good idea, Sign me up for the 2d client, I havent played around with dll injection in a while 3d client as you said would require 500 times more data to be processed. Not the mention the download size of something that is 3d.
