1.
The tradition of starting "children alternates,"...yet this is just more ammunition to be used by those who believe that role playing has no place in this game. If this is what role playing is turning into, and it pains me to say this, then they are correct.
Allow me to say that firstly, I agree, and secondly, that not every person who "roleplays" in MagicDuel agrees that role-played children are a good thing or role-plays in the same way. I will go further: I am very annoyed that some people seem bound and determined to remove the "fantasy" from what is advertised as a fantasy role-playing game. I do not refer to those who famously oppose role-playing, but to that same camp of those who think "child alternates" are good for the game, for they undermine, whether they mean to or not (and I think, on balance, that they are unaware of the effect they are having), the consensual fantasy and the magic of the MagicDuel game setting, and they undermine it with the basest of humdrum, everyday details. As my "alt" Keith Moon observed, no one cares whether there is toilet tissue in the invisible WC of the Defensive Quarters. That is a detail we can all live without. Until that second camp agrees to study the setting, analyze it, and attempt to understand the impact the setting has on their characters, I, like you, have only the feeblest of answers to the first camp: "It ain't me done it." Among the second camp, I must include, with no pleasure at all, those who smile and nod with approval at "events" such as are the subject of this thread. As a proud citizen of Loreroot, I, as the character Tarquinus, sometimes find it hard to be proud; and indeed some might say the pride I exhibit is only for the sake of role-playing the Latin cognomen of that character.
2. Happy Birthday.
3. Delight of the razor This is fine, an edge of wit advanced in whispers on your skin, and only you have all of it: my hopes, my laughter, and my sin. In sunlight’s peaceful lassitude I chart your body’s golden map, my dark devotion soft renewed, crepuscular, without collapse. So in this twilight I divine the path to your unmarked reprieve, and softly shall my razor shine, silent, too, my love to live. --written, of course, for Pamplemousse, by Keith Moon
4. Fröhliche Geburtstag!
5. "Stochastic Serenade" A twice-inflected turmoil trills its binary unease As shadowy negations slip from solipsistic shade; The proud, porphyric promenade of eschaton's disease Propels in syncopation my stochastic serenade. From sorry, soggy verse unwinds a myriad of pleas, Perturbs the surly stillness with an anarchist's brigade And stoops to strain the troubadour's poetic, vinous lees: Tyrannical in metrics is choleric cavalcade. I'll send my trembling trysts of rhyme to tweak the tops of trees, And sharpen all my shyness on a beatific blade, Though heard before shall ring no more or bound upon the breeze, Staccato taps of love's synapse as heresy portrayed. My cardiac collapse invites a knocking of the knees And fundamental parody of discipline displayed, Too fulsome for my fright to fill, your avalanche to freeze - And lost to my delight, declaim stochastic serenade.
6. Happy b-b-b-birthday, you thing from another world, you.
7. Tough choice between Indyra's and Allyce's. I voted for Indyra's in the end.
8. I agree with Atlas. The Heads Contest is a fighting contest for a reason, and I know too few "roleplayers" who also know how to fight: and most of my favorite players in the game can do both. Learn to fight, or stay away from Heads, I say. Edit: It seems to me even more peculiar in the context of the Boss Heads contest, which really should include strong fighters, people who understand the fighting system. I tend to think that, at best, it's unnecessary, because people who know how to fight can transfer heads quite easily anyway.
9. Happy birthday, Sieur.
10. Okay, that makes sense. Thanks. You can close the topic, I reckon.
11. haha! right on. Stupid me.
12. No, it's not a huge deal. I bring it up now because it just happened about 30 minutes ago.
13. The principle charge Autofix seems to have taken most of my (Tarquinus, ID 62933) Darkness principle charge away. I cannot remember what it was before the Autofix, but I believe it should have been reset to 4000, not 1000. Please advise.
14. This is excellent news. Congratulations, Rendril... and may you prosper in this capacity.
15. Belated wishes for a happy birthday.
16. NB - I have pledged my rewards, and I will honor the pledge as Kamisha and and any judges he uses see fit to award them. I hope to see more entries coming, but I like what I am seeing so far.
17. Happy Birthday.

littoral lament In the sands of a beach mourning the ocean that once overwhelmed it with her kisses, my conscience is a fragment of clypeasteroid test amid sun-drunk bones as thin as needles. I look back to the days of stone, left behind when summer was new, when storms frowned on my lineage and the wind everywhere chased sentiments twisting through contentious skies. Every speck around me was once a mountain, hopes ground to tiny regrets by wind, water, and time. My histories lie derelict in vapid footprints of doomed men and weeping horses. The muses hear nothing of me and my salt sits lost to the earthly shadows all these centuries. My legacy is scornful chance, an eye caught for the shavings of an instant and cast upon the distant lie of water. I point nowhere and my tomorrows suffocate, encrypted, the ashes of grandfathers churned and entombed in restive dunes. This horizon's funeral beshrouds the vespers of today's cenobites, a veil, silent thunder uncoiling, unbending. I join the chant, a dirge to hours fallen battling jealous sloth. The confused arc of the heavens' twilight collapses - still my idiot heart, numb my soles, quench the burning of my brain. This is a good death. I wait in the surge of darkness. edited to expunge a few linking verbs
19. A massive and audacious undertaking, my friend. Thank you for your hard work to collect and preserve this knowledge.
20. I had trouble with the open Loreroot spell earlier today, but assumed my browser was to blame. Please advise.

22.
aaront222 Dumb Stupid Turd? Aaront222- TEAM BRIT!!! Aaront222- Awesome
This, obviously, is in dst's log. I noticed it on the Public Logs today, but said nothing as I was sure someone else would notice it and say something/have it removed. Older players may be more mature, but they are not necessarily immune to ridiculous stuff like this... this is not even a criticism. It's just offensive. I have seen this player push the boundaries of "tolerable" until now, but in my opinion this PL entry goes over the line.
