{UPDATE: This IS now a sanctioned project.} This is a more detailed fleshing out of the PROPOSED project laid out in Game Development. This is placed in the Legend Speakers section of the forum, so that I have Moderator abilities to move and reformat things as the concepts evolve, and possibly some of the work gets done. New ideas that are not really directed towards the goals stated in the proposal should go in the New Ideas portion of the Game Development forum. https://magicduel.invisionzone.com/forum/8-new-ideas/ Your comments here may be moved around and assimilated if I see how they enhance the grand design.

This is one place to advertise upcoming events, and get them out on the forum. This may get into details of the Big Stuff, or just topics or details for regular Storytelling gatherings or the like. Organizers and creators of Events are encouraged to use this sub-forum freely as a marquee, posting links of ongoing interest to people; however this should not be a substitute for Mood Panel, Quest Pages, and other parts of the forum. If it doesn't fit anywhere else, put it here!

[22/04/22 13:26] Chewett:I'm not sure of anyone really that has an avatar like that, where Mur has graced it with a name and colour [22/04/22 13:26] Kyphis:Of course; they are an Aussie [22/04/22 13:27] Chewett:Strange people those Aussies [22/04/22 13:27] Kyphis:.... yep [22/04/22 13:27] Kyphis:It feels good to see though [22/04/22 13:27] Chewett:Well,…

while I could try to use a lot of words to describe how I think the game mechanics are not helpful towards community activies I would have to sum it up as: Movement doesn't reflect what it used to very well before all of the action point changes were added/applied... In some instances walking through a land could take hours, for example MDA, the East, or even Loreroot, as most of what we had to fight was viscosity and that required us to walk in groups. I don't think it needs to take hours to do things but the practice of us needing to combat viscosity and work together to get somewhere was very rewarding.

I intend to be just north of Wind's Sanctuary (Pickle Hut and Cafe by the Maple) around 2100 every day. Everyone is encouraged to drop by, to hear or share a story, update us on current or finished projects, and generally shoot the bull. Well, not Taurion. I mean he's welcome, just that he's not the one to be shot.... Anyway, if I'm not there (or comatose) and there are at least two of you, feel free to go ahead without me! I hope to establish a tradition here.

Hope you all enjoyed the events of the 16-year celebration of the birth of Magic Duel. Here is a link to all the wonderful story telling at the MDA. Thanks to all that participated in this event, which led to the reformation of the Legend Speakers alliance.

There are many facets to this game. You have to listen to your feelings and decide which appeals to you the most, then follow it as far as it will take you. If a second facet jumps up and grabs you, then so be it. My analysis of the different facets that might appeal to a player.... Fighting Creature Collecting Witty chatter with friends over cake and tea Puzzles and quests - solving and building them - this may take the "party game" approach or the programming/coding direction Team building/sports - alliances Political machinations - like the current brew-ha-ha over training techniques and the mp3/february debates Alliance/lands politics - power struggles and b…

These are the times and dates in which I have thought to work out the best. I have added an option for you to state which time you think would be good outside of the ones I have supplied. Please state it here, so as to discuss it and help etermine when would be a good time for Story Night. This is also a sign up sheet for people who want to volunteer as Hosts. The job of a host is basically to send all entries to me, so I can post them up for everyone and then put them up on the Archives Page. There are certain rules to being a host, and I can send them to prospective Hosts so they know the rules, and in case something does happen in which action is necessary, the…

Soothing Sand and Passant the weak, owners of the most efficient Sand Melters in the realm, are hosting a distribution of free Raw glass to celebrate Haloween. That way, anyone who wish so will have a shiny ressource that they could use as a mirror. Either to admire their own decorated face, or to repel vampires attacks during the night. The event will be active from the 29th to the 31st October. To do so, we will get strong support of Burns and Golemian citizen who are holding Stone Detectors: they will provide us with sand for free. And we will transform that sand into raw glass for free, and distribute it to the people who ask. For those who don't know what we ar…

When was the last time we celebrated any thing? Say, the most recent advances in technology? Or just this great land we live in? I say we have some sort of festival, where all the players gather in the areas around the GoE(not just in GoE, but in the roads around it). And I would like it if Mur could change the background for the length of the celebration. I think this is a good idea... But if I'm wrong, please give me your thoughts!

After quite a few months of not having Story Night, I have decided to have it up and running once more. But this time, there will be some major changes to how it is run. -There will no longer be prizes, judging, comments, etc. Anything that required extra hands to shuffle things around and make things a stress ball. -People can write stories about anything-- from fictional pieces of literature, to happenings in MD. [Meaning things that have ACTUALLY happened. i.e. AL] -This is a community project. Anyone can host, as long as they tell me when they would like to so it can be broadcasted. If that person does not show, then someone from the community can step up an…

Session 11/13/10 1. The Farmer Who Looked Up: Observations from the Country Side -Nice metaphors. -I wanted to read more. The feelings were there, but seemed to end too soon 2. Yoko and Kiko -Good for off the cuff, could have more impact. -I like how the young boy realized he had power too. 3. Poem: Writing is Work -Insightful, well-thought out and well-written -I understand the part about 'writing is work'. I had a difficult time judging this one. 4. Poem Read by Peace -Tidy, neat writing. -A beautiful poem.

This will be the thread where we [The people who are running Story Night/Sponsoring it] will be posting your rewards. However, for this occasion, I am stating a notice here about such reward [which will be edited]: Currently, You people will have to wait a couple more days before the posting will be available. There are some things that need to be worked out because we are doing something new from the previous Story Night and the past SN's in general. So, please bear with us. There are kinks, but we are working through said kinks. I apologize in advance that we cannot get to you your prizes sooner, but to keep the integrity, and equality of all of your pieces, w…

Alright folks. It seems that during all of Story Night I have been doing most of the load, and point blank: I need help. There is only one exact spot that I can think of, perhaps more. This spot is simply to be helping me with PMing the judges with stories, sending them notices, preparing the times, advertising, and basically just general things to organize things. This person would also be of help to bounce ideas off of, and take my place with hosting in case I would like to share a piece myself, or in case we need them because of some other happening, such as my not being able to make it. I am more than willing to trade off with hosting in case that person is unab…

To those whom this may concern: I am at my limit. SN has run about... 4 times now? And yet each time it only seems to get harder and harder. I'm making an ultimatum here. Rather, not an ultimatum. But a message. I would really find it a lot easier if things would show initiative and respect the things I try to do. To be honest, I am trying what I can to make this work and it doesn't make things fun or enjoyable or in the least fulfilling when there are people hijacking the events, people being lazy and not bothering to show up [not had this happen yet, or to my knowledge yet], or doing it strictly for the reward. My thoughts for Story Night was for people to have a…

Story Night Original Message: Many of you may remember Story Night, led by Keith Moon, from a long time ago. You may have thought the times of fantastic tales and poetry told within MD were over, but that is far from true! Starting September 18 (Day 260 in MagicDuel) Story Night will return through the efforts of Kyphis, Awiiya, Curiose, Ailith, and myself! It will occur once every three weeks on varying days to ensure everyone can participate. Also, in hopes of allowing everyone the chance to join us, the days Story Night happens we will do the event twice within that …

This forum is for those who want to submit stories and/or those who have been confused in any way about how Story Night works. I have realized that many problems with orginization and advertisement have fallen upon Curiose to solve. This is something I do not want to happen too often. Just to let everyone know, it is more fun if you are there in person than waiting for the log of the event to be posted. Below is a list of questions many of you have had, I hope this clears some things up. (Please keep this forum fairly clean/empty. This is not a chat room.) Q: How often does Story Night occur? A: Usually around, every three weeks.[/cente…

As of late, getting rewards for people is getting to be fairly strained, and I do apologize for being extremely late with everyone getting their rewards, but, we are doing the best we can. Currently, we are in HEAVY need for Sponsors, and I could really use your help to keep Story Night going and to keep people happy. I don't want to downsize our reward system just because we don't have the funds to do it, but it may be necessary to do so in order to at least give people something for their hard work. If you feel that you could donate your help and your time to keep Story Night going as it is, please state it here, and what you are willing to donate. Prizes used …

As of late, I have been pondering something that I believe will be of importance to the community. I may be wrong in its 'importance,' but, I feel that to educate the public, and to honor those who have left us, to organize something for them in their favor would be a great gesture of appreciation. [What a run on...] Another reason as to why I want to organize this is not because it's an idea that simply came to me, but rather, because there have been people who have suggested something of this sort. I am doing this for the people, rather than for anything else. I have not thought it through fully as of yet, but that is because I have been busy organizing othe…
