1.
Imagine new Mp5 trying to fight veterans that already have tons of stats.
The new MP5 should maybe try to hit the vets a few times and lose, then stop trying to fight them. Why would they keep attacking? Also, again, before GGG, new MP5s got along well enough.
That's not the only problem, anyone think in the impression this cause to new players? One example? Player Limethunder (45 days old in game) was attacked and totally destroyed while he is idle in GGG. He tells after he awake "i have no def rits though and most creatures dead or near to" -- "alright i'm off to cower around sanctuaries for a few days regen some crits" do you guys think this cause a good impression to this player?
Lime Thunder was awake while No one was there attacking people, and they were talking in chat. I remember specifically that he said something like "You should talk to your victims more often. It makes them feel special." This is only one quote (the one that I remember >>)
  2. New MP5 -> Average MP5 -> Veteran MP5 Group A of New MP5s come in, and get beaten up for a while by the older MP5. Then Group B of New MP5 come in, which pushes Group A into the "average" slot, because they now have someone to attack. The cycle continues. Sanctuaries are there for a reason as well. How many people do you think actually USE sanctuaries? Why SHOULD anybody use them when they could be at GGG farming wins instead of just sitting there waiting for the regen timer? Back when there was no GGG, new MP5s got the hang of defending themselves well enough, but now that there's GGG, again, why should they? You, Poppi, are a perfect example. You've used your privilege to create alts well, because you've had a few, and over time, you've learned quite a bit, right? Does it really matter if you can't beat a few vets? Avoid them. It's not hard. At worst, you get a few losses and have to wait for regen, or use free credits, or ask your protector for a heal.
  3. Fenrir - You said it wrong, and at the wrong time. Fyrd - You blame the vets for giving no alternative to GGG. There is a very simple one; learn to fight. Why should the vets just give you stuff? Give people a reason to help you. Everybody else - Still waiting for an answer. See my post above if you've forgotten >>
  4.
As to the rest of these GGG complainers lets look at the list. No One - Ancient Veteran who can at any time fairly well dominate all MP5s who aren't ancients Burns - Ancient Veteran who can at any time dominate most ALL mp5's should he chose too Redneck - Veteran who used the GGG, gained huge stats, then turned against it and now whines. See a pattern here? Most all people who are "against the GGG" are old veterans who have an overwhelming advantage over most of their class. I remember quite well when Burns went around attacking anything that moved and destroyed it for fun. Redneck is much the same. No One is one of the few who protest who I can say usually give others a fair chance.
a) I am against the GGG. Not as openly as others, but I'm still against it. All three of the people you listed, and even you, phantasm, can beat me in a fight. b) Burns/redneck attacking people for fun? Sure, isn't that the point of a GAME? To have FUN? Besides, fun may be one reason, but it is not the only one. Or do you spend too much time in the GGG to remember what the rewards for combat are? Burns is leader of GG alliance because of attacking other alliance members for loyalty (may not be the only method, but it's definitely one). When did it become wrong to enjoy ACTUALLY battling people? Can somebody please fill me in?
  5.
@pip, but musn't ppl lose so that they get better and stronger???
If I attack Player A and win, Player A loses. If I attack Player A and lose, Player A wins.
  6. No, there is no rules, and there never should be. "Rules" for fighting just make it less exciting >>
  7. The cake is a lie!

  8. @argos: The age listed is before transfer.
  9. So, Shara, basically you think that people shouldn't involve other people in anything negative, or undesired, without permission? Scripting or even just knowledge before-hand about something that, in RL, is generally surprising or unexpected, takes some of the excitement and life out of it. This particular case is a bad example, because there's not much you can do when you're dead, but it still applies. This is why MD bugs me, there's not much spontaneous, crazy stuff, because lots of stuff is at least partially scripted. I love heads contest because it's wild and random fighting, but even that is becoming more and more easy to manipulate into whatever you want. I'm not saying that pre-planning things is bad, but overdoing it just makes it...well, it takes half of the fun out.
  10.
Excuse me, but ME one of the weakest players in MD managed to WIN hc. As i said before, HC for Mp5 is now a farce, Mur has done a bit to make it every 2 months, But its still going to be like this at mp5 each time it comes around... Something needs to be done so it encourages more people.
You're not one of the weakest, you're closer to the middle of the scale, if I remember correctly. Anyways, if we just let everybody compete again, the strongest people will just win again and again until there's none of them left, which is when the weaker people start winning and this all happens again. If we only let SOME people compete again, the others will complain. If a minimum score to place is implemented, it still doesn't solve the problem of nobody competing. And, as a note, it's not only MP5 that's a problem, but MP3 and MP4 too. Look at the score on them. It doesn't take much effort to get 1800 points, even if you are competing against super-powered alts.
  11. Incoming is the same as replaying a previous log. You can't see the whole thing unless you copy/paste.
  12. Yay for Festival finally, but when will the big one be?
  13. Happy birthday, Granny! Don't break your hip! But seriously, have a good birthday ^^
  14. It'd be kinda neat to play with, even if there was no practical use.
  15. There already were WPs. First four people to solve the whole thing got one, if I remember right.
  16.
I will quote Mur: "The cube is the created bx around your soul and mind. It is not a natural construction, or it would have been a sphere." Therefore, we are not organic, and thus I do not think that we as inorganic entities should be able to produce that which is organic unless, of course, as I also said before, that such a paradox is intended to be one of the many mysteries of MD.
"The cube is created AROUND" Suggests that you were there, then the cube was added. The cube is not natural, but it says nothing about the person it contains.

    @Junior:
Me Mur Dst Indyra Grido Yrth Firs

woo hoo thats the stag off to a nice start
18.
"Where do these wars fit in the actual story of the game ?"
Where does any of the RP in MD fit into the "actual story"? There simply is no "actual story" for MD, and that's why there's a chatbox, and why all of the AL is based on the roles that players chose and not a bunch of made up characters that one person made. Besides, if there's no conflict in a story, it's not a story. It's just boring.

  21.
Hence, Burns' fight club.

coming from pip, who rarely ever has a rit on that doesn't have 2 minutes of token scrolling before his fight.
What does the fight club have to do with tokens?
  22.
I suggest a place for ritual training where the willing veterans can teach ones that want to learn through dueling how best to set rituals and the all important game mechanics you keep going on about. If you want smart competition sometimes the best way to get it is to teach, otherwise by all means go on and complain about how brainless people are and do nothing else about it.
Hence, Burns' fight club.
  23. I would like to add that I saw an MP4 at GGG yesterday asking if there was a way to get EXP without actually fighting. In other words, he was asking if he could get EXP from GGG duels. Is that not at least mildly disturbing?
