i might change this to convert alliance loyalty to land loyalty? but thats also not entirely fair nor balanced...maybe just a quarter of it? or getting dead will become an advantage then?

My only argument against this is that it would immensely inflate land loyalty. You can grind thousands of loyalty points in a day by combat.

    - give one time things such as medals and role tags

    - buy them back for silver or gold or even credits

I incline towards the first ("Frozen Memory of X" where X is the resource) being given as an unusable item. But buying them back for silver and gold could be an option too, depending on the price or how it's decided. I'd say these two options are the fairest.

Giving away rare creatures for it or making special clickables which give special resources for huge stacks seems to defeat the purpose, in my view.

i am not sure what happend, did i announce loyalty was supposed to drop also? i think not, just land affiliation and citizenship

chew, you have any opinion on this, bug or not bug? (i know its my code so dont start screaming at me pls :P)

Loyalty drops by 50% when being kicked and when reinvited you are dropped to the current leader's loyalty - 20 (approximately).

  4. Since what I see here is that people are worried that the "effort" they put into harvesting resources is made nil by this new change, I'll add something more. I dare say that this is the case with everything in MD, so here is an analogy. It might need to be taken a bit metaphorically, I hope my point comes across.

    • Land affiliation and alliances.
Say player X puts a vast, long-term effort into getting in a specific land, in a specific alliance. This involves spending WPs for scene access in that land, building a role suitable for that land, spending credits to train stats, organising events, and the list could go on. In the case of a takeover (with potential land-lockdown), all the effort this player put into this is immediately (and very likely permanently) made nil. Furthermore, the current perception is that it's that player's responsibility to deal with it, not someone else's.
The only thing Player X remains with is a permanent experience. Just like from harvesting you are left with a skill. I don't see why harvesting resources and losing large stacks that required a lot of effort is any different from any other type of effort and loss in MD.

You can lose many things in MD on a whim, and it doesn't matter how much effort and heart you put into them.

  5. @No one - from my experience, sand melters consumed 1-4 sand (or the whole sand stack possibly, I don't remember accurately), but no matter how much sand you gave it would still produce 4 glass. So technically the more sand you had, the less efficient it was. Also, please stop flaming on noobs, this is becoming a trend. Saying "You don't understand the implications of what you're saying." would suffice, without name calling and shaming. :)

    @ the whole rest
To be brutally honest, I think there are many inconsistencies in MD. This whole thing would just be another one of them (since some resources can be consumed individually, some can't), and to 'fix' it would just be inconsistent in itself (since it would break the consistent trend of inconsistency). I do actually find the whole snowball effect interesting :) but as much as I/we dislike it (I may not have huge stacks, but it does hinder me in trading as well indirectly), I think it is at least decent to keep things as they are (not allow splitting of resource stacks in the clickables). Not all changes in MD have to be good for us or liked by us.

  6. Currently the 3 slots are taken. I have removed the possibility of a queue, since after some thought I decided it is bad practice.

    Things to keep in mind:

    1. I will announce when I can take more participants.
    2. Failure of Perception will no longer move you to the back of the queue (as there is no queue anymore). It will disqualify you and your participant slot will be treated as free. You may reapply only after the next calendaristic New Moon, or a minimum of 24 hrs after your disqualification.
    3. I strictly reserve the right to pause the quest at my discretion, however I will not halt it as long as a participant is still active in it (except under extraordinary circumstances, such as them leaving the game, etc; think of it as a cashier closing the desk, I will stop accepting participants but wait for existing ones to finish.)
  7. Considering how all the ore is likely to be kept depleted, and the chance to get valuables (lonsything, diamonds, gold ore) is LOW, I'm not too concerned. Also keep in mind that stacks of these resources will be processed to only 1 refined resource... so tough luck for people who already have a stack of diamonds (like me, I had 5 uncut ones). I think this will work. The only thing, I think, is that these should be valued according to their rarity... which I believe currently is:

    1. Gold Ore (rarest)
    2. Lonsything shards (can't spell it)
    3. Uncut Diamond (least rare)
  8. Back on topic:

Branches (150?) --> Rattan Strands (1 or random 1-5) (could be further processed into Rattan Weave, then combined with Glue to make Herb Baskets or other tools. "SOON". So I think it has a future.)

Clickable is somewhere in MB, a soaking basin (like some sort of recipient with warm water). Requires 24hrs for the branches to soak so they can be made into rattan.

Can I make a "Mur said" statement?... Here:

Also remember that this is not about combining more item types into one, but a single type into something else, be it item or why not, even the effect of a spell.

  10. Ideas! :D MOAR. IDEAS.

    Unidentified herbs (200-ish?) -- Compost (1); ferments over 48hrs.
Compost(use): doubles regeneration rate of herbs in the scene it is used in for the next week (?).
Clickable is a wooden barrel, in MDA Basement.

This could also work with Garbage but currently garbage is a fairly rare resource, isn't it? Not sure if it's suitable for this.

Also consider this a subtle warning, any supposedly clever stunts of sorts to enter this quest, will ban you from not only this quest but all future quests of mine. :)

That's a bit rich coming from you.

I'll apply for NML. If anyone vouches for me, feel free to upvote me or something.

Sylvia Mariano - unless someone else is picked from NML.

  12. Mineral water > Purified Salts
Clickable could look like a large basin for water to dry in. IDK where to place it.

Sawdust > Mottled Paper (3rd step >Coloured Paper)
Clickable should look like a press, could be somewhere in the Archives?

    Bones > Bone Beads (I'd add a 3rd step here >Bone Charm)
Could be just a simple chisel left in the Defensive Quarters in LR (because of the big table).

Unidentified Herbs > Mixed Herbal Spices
Pestle and Mortar at Sanctuary View

    Lumber > Wooden Plank
Table with wood saw, somewhere with a lot of space.

    Overall suggestion:

Mur, could all these clickables be downsized or 'put into perspective', rather than always be very large at the front of the scene ((sau cum satan se zice 'in prim plan')). I think the reason why they're somewhat dislikeable is because these clickables always are very bulky and cover up a lot of the scene. Where possible, they could be placed 'in the distance'.

Will add more ideas when I get them.

  13. HI ALL.

I attacked MaGoHi. Or tried to. And I noticed something just a tiny bit funny about the message I got when attacking him (attached pic). No spells active on either of us (unless Aeoshattr :burst_744  counts), literally just casual attacking, absolutely nothing special on my side. It went away when I tried attacking him again after closing the attack window, so it's probably nothing serious, but just in case I posted it here under bugs.

Who knows what hideous abuse could grow on this. Gasp. The horror!

  14. So much stuff to read. I might reiterate what others have said, for some reason I find individual posts very difficult to follow (to me the whole page looks very white, the gray that separates posts doesn't contrast enough).

    1. Needs some bedazzling to look more like the old forum, aesthetically. Right now it's very barren and disconnected from the game, but I think this is just because it was recently updated, it won't stay like this, right? Right?...

    2. Activity feed is extremely spammy. I hugely preferred the old one (where topics were highlighted), because this one highlights every single post in every single new thread, also who upvoted what, who uploaded pics, literally everything. I'm not saying it's absolutely a bad thing, but is there an option to sort the activity feed, or show only active topics as opposed to every new post?

    3. If you click the 'reputation' thing in your profile, it says something like 'no content here', rather than pointing to posts in which you were given reputation.

    4. Seems to have a bunch of new tools and gadgets to use though, which is good. Could someone post a tutorial or "look, this thing is new and useful" for the technologically inept, like me? Cheers.
