  1. MD always been a game for a specific type of person. The younger gen z and gen alpha have little attention span, watch skibidi toilet and play roblox so idk maybe it appeals more to an older demographic now.

Personally I found MD through an ad on armorgames many many years ago however I do understand that in the long run advertising temporarily boosted MD's player count but most people didn't stick around. Quality over quantity.

Word of mouth could be good if you have any friends with similar gaming interests though that didn't work for me and that was when it was very active. If anyone streams or does something like tik toks making MD content may get it out there more but with low player count it may not be that enticing.

I do believe that there's a lot of potential players that would enjoy MD still but don't know about it. Players that enjoy tabletop RPGs specifically i think. It might seem a hopeless cause but I'll always retain hope and login as long as the servers are still up.

  2. It would be nice to be able to see either publicly or privately on profile page under an avy (or when hovering over avy on profile page) the artist that drew it just to pay homage to current and past artists.

When I see a really nice avy I always wonder who drew it. It could also potentially help said artist to get more work commissioned.

  3. If you get it just for being a vet most of us that still login would just automatically get it whereas crafting it in some form or doing a quest or something would take more effort on our parts. And it would take forever for new players to get

  4. I had an idea sort of similar to this one but I  think it's different enough to make a separate post. Mounts. For example a horse or a dragon that you also need to take care of, feed, water it. It would have it's own set of AP (either not much or a decent amount with longer cooldown. Maybe enough to just get through one side of a land to another) that is spent when you are mounted instead of your personal AP. Would require rest and food and water to regenerate it.

It should maybe require a quest to earn one, a ritual or building one. Shouldn't be very easy to get. Maybe an icon next to playername or avy to show you are mounted or a automated text in chat like

    "*playername mounts mountname*"

I would personally use it mostly for RP purposes and wonder if anyone else thinks this is a cool idea.

  5.  I personally like the idea and think it could help boost some activity , an optional extra thing for people to do that requires you to take care of the pet. They could grow with age. Personally I'd like a cat or a parrot. Or maybe these should be unique MD pets not found in RL.

  6. Hello,

Years ago around probably 2016/2017 I accidentally returned my avy to the shop instead of temporarily sending it to my vault.

It was a custom drawn avy by gonzalo. I remember it being posted on this post but it's gone. Would have requested the art in mid 2014.

It was a winged hussar mounted on a horse. A few examples of drawn winged hussars are here:  two, three. Obviously it's different but that's the general idea.

I shuffled the avy's in the shop ~50 times and couldn't find it, so if anyone happens to have it in their shop or remembers my avy, you would help me a lot.

I miss it a lot it was the best avy for me. Thanks in advance, MD.

  7. Sounds great I am down for whichever one, christmas or md birthday. On another note I wasn't aware that the webcam feature runs off of adobe flash and when I tried to take a new picture off of a flash emulator for firefox the feature wasn't working. Not sure if it would have if I got the actual last version of flash available but yeah

  8. I don't know if this is a good idea but adding to what Mur said what if that got turned to a zoom "quest" , like whoever has the most number of correct guesses wins? Naturally whoever uploaded  a webcam photo should replace it with something else before the quest. Not sure if people would cheat by trying to look at who's participated on the MD page or uploaded a picture on webcam - then again those pictures are old as hell.

Edit: even if not a sponsored quest with a reward we could turn into a structured game/quest for fun.

  9. If you have heatstones for sale please reply here or pm with the price.

    Thank you!

I didn't realize that the heat spell still requires heat to cast it, so never mind it won't be useful to me anymore.

The filter weeds them out after they join not before, also it might be changing considering the new tutorial they are planning to release. So any new players are always welcome.

Actually, to a certain extent I'd like to disagree with you. You make it sound like everyone that will come across MD and see the concept is going to join, and then the filter through game play will weed them out. It takes a  certain kind of person to actually show enough interest to make an account in the first place. :D

Might cause some potential alt issues if you actually log into your account so don't do that.

I didn't mean to log in,  just load the page ^^ it probably wouldn't make a major impact but it would give a little more exposure. Another thing, which probably has been mentioned before at some point is that we as players could advertise online in different places that allow it. Its been done but I dont know if anyone is still actively doing it. I was just thinking of ways md could get some free exposure as I know firsthand we used to have ads on other sites and it did bring a massive amount of players at some point. It might conflict a bit with md's natural filter though.

  12. Good Evening MD! I thought you guys might be interested in a glimpse of the ancient MD page. You can go to a website: archive.org and search for magicduel.com. There you can see how the page evolved over the years starting from 2007. You can even click through the links. Some of these work from that page such as the link to the old forum: https://web.archive.org/web/20060720180958/http://www.magicduel.com/forum/

You can view some of the topics still. I thought this was a cool glimpse to the past and I hope you enjoy it ^^
