  1. I think I can cover the teleporting issue... :p
  2. That is a good question, and it raises the following point... If I base the score on the number of times one is tagged, rather than the amount of time he'd stay as tagged; - there would be more balance between scores, because catching someone offline and tagging him/her wouldn't be so detrimental - I would no longer need to know when players go offline (in regard to Kyphis' question) So I'm inclined to change the scoring method... Edit: And so I did. I believe I managed to balance it out.
  3. That might be the case, actually. Staying loyal or honorable towards anyone is a bond all by itself. That bond is made through energy, but inner peace and growth would only be a part of a more complex identity of that energy. Both loyalty and honor go beyond the self because they project an image of yourself not only in your view, but others' as well. So, by changing these you're also modifying the perception others will have over you, whether you're aware of it or not. In case you are aware of it, the identity (of loyalty and honor) no longer revolves around the self alone. If you play with the value of these identities often and on purpose, their identity could very well be an illusory one. As far as I've gathered, heat would get "lost" without any activity or identity. That's why the "pure" is gradually lost if not used. I'm not sure exactly how the erolins work to store it, though. I see them as containers, and not something applied to this "pure" heat in order to prevent its loss. I take it that the heat within erolins is the heat you were refering to? Devoid of identity, static, yet it won't fade?
  4. I forgot about that, thank you. :D Question 1: doesn't matter who the watch goes to, as long as they are participating. Question 2: will have to get back to you on that one.
  5. Updated: Jan 19th, 16:50 ST - Description modified; Score method added [hr] Introduction: How long has it been since any of you played this? Too long, if you ask me. So here it is, your chance to go back in time and have some old fashioned and tiresome fun! Here's how it goes: Description: Every subscribed player will have to pass a unique item to any of his competitors. Tagging someone is rewarding. Being tagged and remaining that way brings penalties. Details in the Scoring section. For this, Chewett has kindly loaned a broken gold watch to me. This is the item you'll be passing along to one and other. Please return it to me once the competition is over. :P Sing-ups end on Jan 24th, 20:00 ST - a minimum 5 players - post your player name and ID on this thread - find me in game so that I can give you a Pair of 20-sided Dice. Everyone will roll these, and the player who rolls the smallest (added) value will be considered tagged by default as soon as the competition starts - I'll nicely ask every player not to withdraw from the competition if the unique item is in their possession - In case anyone signs up only to keep the item and thus the other competitors' timers at zero, the player is disqualified and the competition is delayed by a week. Player in question will not be allowed to sign up for this specific competition again Mechanics: - run around and tag other competitors by passing the unique item to them - take a print screen as proof as soon as you pass the item - post the print screen on this thread - make sure the screen shot contains the chat line showing you passed the item, along with the server time - rinse and repeat * Passing the unique item to someone who hasn't signed up will get you disqualified. * Getting killed or jailed will also get you disqualified. (I have no power over this) I will save the screen shots you provide as often as I can get online to save them. If anyone wishes to provide assistance on the math, they are welcome to do so. Scoring: - every time you get tagged - receive the item - you receive 1 point (first to be tagged doesn't receive this point, because I'm the one passing the item to him/her starts off with 0.5 points) - for every full hour the item spends in your inventory, whether you're online or not, you receive 0.25 points - every time you tag someone, you receive -0.5 points - the 3 players with the lowest scores win Competition length: Jan 24th, 22:00 ST - Jan 31st - 22:00 ST +24 hours - Watch made its way to a non contestant (Jan 27th 01:08 - 21:37 ST) +12 hours - Eagle held it for 12 hours (Jan 28th 11:52 - Jan 29th 01:08 ST) +12 hours - Blackshade held it for 12 hours (Jan 29th 23:30 - Jan 30th 15:24 ST) +24 hours - Eagle held it for 24 hours (Jan 30th 22:06 - Jan 31st 22:41 ST) +12 hours - Eagle held it for 24 hours (Jan 31st 23:45 - Feb 2nd 01:20 ST) = Feb 4th, 22:00 ST (Wednesday) Location: You can be anywhere you wish. The one who rolled the lowest value on the dice, must be at the Gazebo of Equilibrium so that I can "tag" him/her. [hr] Rewards: 1st place: Tokened Reindrach or 1 Wish Point (pick) 2nd place: Tokened Reindrach or 1 Wish Point (whichever is left) 3rd place: 5 Gold Coins 4th place: 8 Silver Coins 5th place: 7 Silver Coins 6th place: 6 Silver Coins 7th place: 5 Silver Coins 8th place: 4 Silver Coins 9th place: 3 Silver Coins 10th place: 1 Silver Coins everyone: - 1 Silver Coin (Mythrandir) - 10 Rainbow Candy (Asthir) 1 Wish Point is sponsored by Miq. (Thank you!) The Reindrach, 5 Gold Coins and additional Silver Coins are sponsored by the TKs. (Thank you!) [hr] Restrictions: - no alts - sponsors, unfortunately, can't participate Notes: - I will not forbid Easterners from this competition. I will instead reach out to their common sense and ask them not to use their East loyalty to hide, as it's an unfair advantage towards everyone else - On a similar note, I'll ask everyone with access to restricted locations, whether the ability is yours or available to you through the help of someone else, to not use this advantage - A final request goes to those capable of interfering: please don't kill, teleport or in any way impede the participants during this event :P Let's get moving! :D [hr] Players: 01 - Rophs - 247146 - 6+3=9 (dice roll) 02 - Dark Demon - 241314 - 4+3=7 (dice roll) 03 - blackshade rider - 252882 - 12+6=18 (dice roll) 04 - Assira the Black - 141566 - 20+10=30 (dice roll) 05 - *Sunfire* - 197614 - 13+9=22 (dice roll) 06 - *Grido* - 7251 - 16+10=26 (dice roll) 07 - Kalamity - 253512 - 11+14=25 (dice roll) 08 - AmberRune - 202358 - 20+18=38 (dice roll) 09 - *Sasha Lilias* - 148016 - 13+2=15 (dice roll) 10 - Clock Master - 105889 - 19+9=28 (dice roll) 11 - *Eagle Eye* - 180715 - 12+8=20 (dice roll) 12 - Gljivoje - 247317 - 13+15=28 (dice roll) 13 - Change - 233774 - 14+6=20 (dice roll) 14 - Lintara - 202332 - 18+19=37 (dice roll) 15 - Aelis - 169860 - 8+15=23 (dice roll)
  6. Sweet.. :p One last question from me: the blue ones - are they just very good for the purpose of this thread, or too good and thus possibly unusable for the purpose of this thread?
  7. Energy with different identities and sub parts of matter?
  8. I think he just fell over the box he keeps us in :P But still no... the site works if it's just http://chatzy.com, otherwise no
  9. "Page Not Found We are sorry - the page you are looking for could not be found on our server. Perhaps you misspelled the address or followed an invalid link? To continue, try to correct the address or return to the front page" Or not, lol
  10. Name: Asthir ID: 249730 Lightning Sculpture - Four wooden bolts rising from four corners, meeting in the middle and disappearing into a wooden cloud. Insect Pouch - A light-brown leather pouch muffled by a black strap. Happy Mask - The broad grin on this white mask is rather unsettling. Angry Mask - Not something to wear if you're looking for popularity. Unfinished Treasure Map - It says "X marks the spot". Problem is, someone forgot to draw the map... Mesmerizing Thimble - The spiral pattern on top deflects the look, making you gaze straight through it. Fool's Cap - Seven shrunken heads dangle from its tips, each with a different expression. Shapeless Balloon - Depending on what you pump into it, it takes a different shape. Empty Pencil - The charcoal has been carefully removed, leaving behind a green wooden tube. Gastropod Shell - Once inhabited, now open for rent. Hardened Chewing Gum - Feels as tough as a rock, and each side has a molar print on it. Faint scent of banana. Candy Wrapper Collection - These wrappers have been gathered over the years into an impressive collection. Glass Soup Bowl - Eating from this transparent container can be misleading. Tiny Wheel - Most likely belonged to a toy car. The plastic is worn out on one side. Lightning Jar - Immortalizing lightning was said to be impossible, yet here it is. Bloated Knator Head - In a duel between a Knator and a Seed, size and fierceness were obviously not the decisive factors. Damaged Parchment - It's been crumpled so many times that the writing became unreadable. Snore Muffler - Excellent thing to have if your room mate is giving you loud nights. Shoe-full of Sand - The previous owner probably knows by now why it's better to walk bare footed through sand. Rubber Spiked Knuckle - Most likely used for intimidation, otherwise completely devoid of effectiveness. Bar-Stool Seat - The legs have been removed. Talk about a low seat... the wood is only covered by some yellowish brown leather, so it's not very comfortable overall. Sweet Tooth - The most adorable tooth you've ever seen. Abandoned Beehive - For whatever reason, this has been vacant for a very long time. Mood Switch - A wooden tile holding a rotating knob with an arrow engraved on it. The arrow can point towards 13 different moods carved on the wooden tile. This must be the peak of autosuggestion. Stress Ball - A rubber ball you can fit in your palm. It's most likely not meant to relieve stress, as it's almost impossible to squeeze. Wrong Impression - This sculpture was probably meant to resemble a Drachorn, but its limbs aren't exactly in the correct place. Sardine Can - Empty can of sardines, with a few strands of hardened fish inside. Still smells. Rotten Banana Peel - A blackened peel of a tasty fruit. The tip was pinched off. Round Die - A very small glass ball with numbers 1 through 100 engraved on it. Armchair Leg - Small wooden leg which used to level an armchair. Embroidered Light - Medium sized piece of cloth with rays of light sewn into it. Inert Pendulum Balls - Normally when one hits the next, the last is thrown out and returns to repeat the process. These don't seem to work that way. Spring Cleaner - A feather duster labeled with "Spring". Mister Y Note - A piece of paper addressed to "Mister Y". The message hasn't been written. Round of Drinks - A round wooden board with 20 holes close to the edges and spinning arrow in the middle. Paper Plane - A piece of paper folded with care to resemble a mechanical contraption capable of moving through air. Remains Remains - This is what's left of a Remains that angered a Drachorn one day. Fish Skeleton - The flesh seems to have been disintegrated off of it. It's in perfect condition. Final Argument - A small slab of stone with the engraving: "It all comes down to perception." Hairy Spoon - Clearly not fit for use. Immobilized Tear - A tear drop in a transparent glass ball. Very difficult to make out. Card of Decks - Several examples of ship decks drawn on a carton card. Match Box - The coloring of this small, rectangular, empty carton box will match the coloring of any clothes you may wish to wear. Musical Note - A small piece of paper labeled with "Must see". The names of 10 musicals are scribbled on it. Brass Monocle - The craftsmanship of the frame is rather poor, and the lens is filled with water on the inside. Decisive Saying - A small metal plate with the engraving: "It's written in stone." Pop Corn - Infuse a grain of corn with enough heat will make it go "Pop!". This is the result. Pair of Eagle Eyes - Once used to spot danger and prey. Now a grim accessory. Amber-ed Rune - A small stone tile encased in amber. The engraving on the tile is unreadable. Greedy King - Limestone sculpture of a king bent over a treasure chest. "One-For-All" Die - Twenty-sided bone die which always lands on "14". "All-For-One" Die - Four sided bone die with "1" engraved on every side. Fake Precious Gems - A pouch containing refined glass shards of multiple colors. Mur: i removed the previous ones, let them be where they are in the previous posts, posting them again make things very confusing, thnx
  11. Will there be a shuffle mechanism similar to the one in the avatar section? And will artwork be implemented for all these items?
  12. Not necessarily... I think it's a lot easier to replace the broken windows instead of reforging them
  13. I've always viewed MD heat as energy, which is why it feels logical to me to imbue a Grasan with energy for it to keep spinning a barrel :p
  14. Light is always present in MD because the box in which the realm resides is placed under Mur's desk lamp. Whenever Mur experiences a power outage, the lamp's batteries kick in. Night time is so rare in MD because the lamp's batteries run dry every now and then, and it takes a few minutes to buy new ones and change them. (I know it's sort of lame to post after your own post in this thread, but I just had to share this thought :p)
  15. Indeed it does. Thank you :D
  16. The default forum avatar is actually Chewy's shaded shape. He's trying to imprint himself onto everyone who won't take on a personalized identity.
  17. Name: Asthir ID: 249730 Silvery Cipher - A cylinder covered in 31 rings. Each ring is made up of 13 square tiles. The tiles are completely blank, and quite a few are missing... this could take a lifetime to open. (*) Hand Cuffs - Two almost white hands connected by a steel chain. Both hands are missing their ring finger. Raw Mur-made Fin - Completely different than any observed fin so far. Feels as if made of steel, but it's fully organic. Oak Splinter - A small and thin piece of wood. One end is red, the other is green, and both are extremely sharp. Thorny Crown - Dozens of entwined vines with hundreds of thorns popping out. Doesn't look very comfortable... Inflexible Spring - Looks like a regular spring, but it just... won't... flex! Red Sap Bottle - The liquid inside is translucent red. A piece of paper is glued on the bottom: "R.D.S.". Someone melted the cap so that it couldn't be open. Miniature Shopkeeper - This incredible sculpture looks just like the Shopkeeper in Willow Shop. The pipe and hat are missing, though. One of the hands has 3 small holes in it. Bird Nest - Twigs and leafs are coupled and glued together nicely to form a nest. The 5 cm diameter suggests that it once belonged to an extremely small... creature. Colorful Stone - Hundreds of shades of different colors reside on the surface of this rock. 100 Silver Coins - These coins are all glued together... why would anyone do that?! Elemental Goo - Silvery-gray, feels slightly wet but leaves no such traces, extraordinarily light weighted. Something must be missing this terribly. Mur: mostly ok, can't use the silver coins not because they are coins but because silver might become raw material later
  18. That does sound better, as it can be done on the spot
  19. It's different than what I thought. When I proposed that solution, I was at home and the issue I believed you were referring to is a different one. I just arrived at work, and I understand what you mean... same thing happens to me here. I'm stuck at MDP. And I must say that, indeed, this has never happened to me before, either. Yesterday it worked just fine from this PC. At home: - Win 7 - latest Firefox - latest Flash --- worked fine this morning At work: (I can't test it on Chrome here) - Win XP - Mozilla Firefox --- version 35.0 --- add-on: Shockwave Flash --- version 16.0.0.257 - Internet Explorer --- version 8.0.6001.18702 --- + Adobe Flash Player 16 NPAPI --- version 16.0.0.257 Both act the same. Both worked OK yesterday. Firefox updated from 34.0.5 to 35.0 today, but IE is the same version as yesterday (they don't update it). I can't check if Flash made any updates. I need to make a request towards the IT department for an update on that.
  20. Whenever this happens, thy the mouse wheel. Simply scroll down. It's the only thing that gets me out of it instantly. My guess is it has something to do with flash, because it's been doing this since (maybe) 2 of its updates,
  21. For RP purposes, you'd need to move those buckets pretty fast if you don't want them to become permanently filled with cement. :p
  22. This is why a graph representation of the entire realm is impossible Edit: Underground and Jail aren't represented... they're under... Edit 2: Of course, one can always philosophize about the land being curved in certain ways, but that's another story... Edit 3: Wrong coloring of a location. Thanks :P Edit 4: Unfortunately, because of the coordinate system, a 3D graph representation of the realm as a box is also impossible.
  23. You need more options - Yes, I knew about this bug - No, I did not know about this bug - Yes, I knew about it but thought it was a feature - No, I thought it only worked in one or a few specific locations For starters...
  24. Name: Asthir ID: 249730 If at first you don't succeed, try again :P Empty Nut - Sounds hollow... the core has been removed, but there are no holes in the shell. Broken Button - Seems like it belonged to a nice shirt, now it's missing its center. Black Bead - Fascinating... feels like looking into the Universe... Blade of Grass - It's uncharacteristically thick for a strand of grass. Folded Paper - Someone glued it together. There seems to be writing on the inside, but it overlaps. Miniature Pinata - The tail, front left leg and half of its head are missing. Judging by its weight, there's something inside. Broken Rubber Band - The two ends which were once together seem melted. Marind's Tea Cup - The face of a little girl is imprinted at the bottom of this cup, and the upper part of its handle is no more. Braille Figurine - This little statue is covered in tiny bumps and holes. Metal Jar - The cap is completely fixed into place... someone went through a lot of trouble to close this jar. Y-shaped Twig - Were it not so fragile, it would have made a nice slingshot. Dry Prune - Very heavy... and the wrinkles make up an interesting pattern. Rather Large Wooden Coin - One side has a strangely mutated face on it. The other side reveals a Tic-Ta-Toe table. Minced Tree Bark - This bark has been turned into powder. For some reason, it smells like fish. Bundle of Red Hair - Where in the name of Mur did this come from? Worn Cloth - The holes in it seem to make up a pattern of some sort. Bottomless Can - If someone wouldn't have cut out the bottom, this might have been useful. Blurry Shard of Glass - The edges have been smoothed out. Interesting to look through, though. Rotten Pickle - The smell is so bad that it scares even flies away. Half a Die - It's been cut diagonally. One of the intact sides show 2 dots, the other 4 dots. One incomplete sides shows a halved dot, and the other 2 complete ones along with 2 halved dots. The cut area reveals that this used to be a loaded die. Rusty Locket - The images inside are almost completely worn out. It looks quite ancient. Fake White Beard - Someone probably made some kids happy with this, at some point. There are cookie crumbs entangled within. Fixed Swing - It's been welded backward at a 60 degrees angle position. No fun! Phosphorescent Egg - Odd coloring. Perhaps this egg isn't related to Easter. Oddly Shaped Mug - Whoever began making this didn't get a chance to finish it. The clay on the inside hasn't been cleared out. Bubbly Amber - I wonder what the air was like millions of years ago... Solid Rain Drop - This whole thing reeks of magic... Incandescent Flower - If you hold it long enough, it glows faintly. Broken Knator Tooth - The once pointy head is now cracked, revealing a blackened interior. Coal in Amber - A fossilized fossil? How intriguing... like a million years withing another million years. Bell Key - A most peculiar shape for a key. Spoiled Square Root of Pie - Once a full, round and tasty pie. Now a spoiled, square shaped center of one. Fish Head - Half opened mouth, three translucent eyes... creepy! Handful of Dirt - A few worms are sticking out of it. Broken Hinge - It's split in two and the pin is missing. Crying Doll - Where are all the tears coming from? Why won't it stop?! (can leave salty traces on other items in inventory - not exactly useful, but I find it to be a nice effect) Mirror Frame Drawing - Whoever drew this has excellent drawing skills. The details on the frame are out of this world! Toothless Fork - Aside from the fact that the teeth have been cut off, it seemed to have had 9 of them... Unspoken "No mirror rule" - was this implemented after the artwork was done? I ask because some scenes have them. Mur: mostly great, can't use them all sadly The no mirror rule was there forever *hint hint*
  25. Well, the idea seemed a lot more popular back then. Thanks for the link. In my search I never considered using "industry" as a key word, and "real" or "practical" didn't return it. So what happened to it?
