You called him a thief rider implying he stole something from you? A thief is someone who steals? No?
As for lying - you promised to Gg that you'd always be loyal to them, yet you betrayed them?  So you are a liar.
Cheater. You cheated the gg's out of their alliance? So you are a cheater too.
Since you are a liar and acheater, 2 out of three accusations you made on aethon, should you get punished like aethon as well? Controversial. And in your case there was no misunderstanding.

First step is to see that there is a "mistake", second to think of a solution, third to ask for advise and fourth to consider all the advise and make a decision. Whatever you do you will make a "mistake" again because you have to take one road which will leave something left on the other road. In this case its up to us the players to decide if we still have fun with what you decided or not. The population of MD will stay like it is now or shrink, in no way it will grow ... you know why. As long as you´re considering this you should be fine.
The only thing you should not do is to continue to put people, who supported the game by playing it (there is no correct or wrong isn´t it?) into boxes and by this try to justify your decision. I never forgot that this is not a democratic system here, so I was not surprised that you decided things. I was surprised by the way you did it.
And again from my point of view you don´t have to feel sorry for those who don´t like it, just expect that they might react in a way you don´t like and they might not be sorry.
I wish you all the success with the plans and decisions you will make for MD for a brighter future. MD was a great game it might become one again.

The moment it gets unpleasant most of the time you back out ... like a father who was told something in his face by his child which he doesn´t like.
"God has spoken and now there should be silence ... "
I´m not impressed, never was ... never will be, not by this. That´s not strength or something you earn respect with, the opposite in fact.
But who am I? Just someone.

We are still talking about a game right? If a game, I guess we can argue about its purpose, is no fun or less and less fun why should anyone who realized how precious time is, continue "playing" the game. Please don´t call it experience, it makes real life look like a joke.

I am sorry @Aeoshattr , last that I checked if you had 1000 sand you could use that stack 250 times resulting in 1000 glass. Meaning that using the tool 1000 times on 1 sand each time would give you 4000 glass (ideally).
Please be sure before contradicting somebody with  "possibly, I don't remember accurately". It really seems rude.
What you failed to remember is the simple thing that matters the most : YOU CANNOT USE THE SMELTER 1000 TIMES. There are very few smelters ... if still available at all.
And you also forgot that walking in MD is slow as hell. Walking from one gathering location to find a smelter (if one would be made from a clickie) would require from 10 minutes to 30 minutes. So, unless you have a smelter with you ... it becomes quite impractical. But be my quest and try it.
So, unless you want to add some math on how much time you spend for 10 or 100 or 1000 glass, then please don't post such incomplete comments.
Feel free to contact / ask me if you think that there are unclear things in my post(s).

Of course this is not fair.
It is like : with age you get more experienced, but you also get old which means that you forget and thus each month you lose 10% of your stats.
Or you could say : for those new players out there to have a chance, we'll limit the stats at 500 so all the grinders out there ... tough luck.

    Counter examples to "always":
You said that it has always been considered that resources should be used as a whole stack ... then, I am sorry, but I have to contradict you. There are plenty of uses where you use the items on as needed base:
all recipes out there use only the required amount of resources (cake, tea, sand castle ... others can fill you in with any other recipes) there are recipes that use a minimum amount and a maximum amount from a stack to produce the same amount of resource : 1-4 sand will produce 4 glass usable resources get used one by one : the memory stones will get use one by one when adding heat or spells to them resources get used exactly to the amount required : the bushies use exactly the amount of water required. ...  well, I'll add more cases as I think of them or others can confirm & add more cases
Making ppl ignorant ... lol, you just admitter that YOU (Mur) are ignorant, not the others.
Actually, every time you make a huge decision like this without considering at least a few of the arguments AGAINST your decision ... it is a disaster. (disasters happen on change not when there is nothing new happening. But ... please read the following so that you can at least have a chance to understand what I'm thinking of.

Also, you said "making those that are more careful and strategic do better over those that are just repetitive and ignorant. " ... what can we all say ? thank you ?
    Other :
So, where does this system leave the trade ? Consider that I need 10 Lumber and I am offered only amounts of 50 to 200 ... they will definitely not agree to trade that larger stack for just 10 water.

    My decision:
Unless you decide that my stacks are too huge or too old and that you want to take them away or short them out, I will keep them as they are (huge) ... somehow.
I will continue the trades in a fair and undiscriminating fashion with high regard to the time spent to gather all those resources.

My advice (if you don't want to take a tool and try it yourself) :
Lower the number of resources used for the combiners. I found it very funny when I've seen the amounts required like :
20 Toxic Plants --- 1 Toxic Plants has 1/4 chance on gather --> about 80 uses of a basket @ 10 minutes interval --> 800 minutes if the resources are plenty & available 100 Bushies --- 1 bushies =  40 water (taking the old amount) or 15 water (taking the new "smart" bushies system ... lets call it NewSystem) ---> 100 bushies = 4000 water (or 1500 water NS) @ 10 interval (up to 20 minutes depending on the tool) ---> that would be what ? 40k minutes (15k minutes NS) of constant water grinding ... I don't know other combiners now, but the amounts are hilarious to say the least. Do consider converting the resources to time and see where that leads.

Well one could easily have assumed that used in a pile means like the way the memory stones work. Just pass the pile and then get it back with some used away.

I'm not against the pile system. I just think that maybe a onetime free splitting would be nice. With a loss. Say split in half lose one half and then split the other half into 6.

There was no way to use most of the the raw material and for a lot still ain't. So now when someone has gathered for 3-5 years you want them to throw it all away? Splitting once by two with wp is not even close to sane.

In short, Mur you want people to pay for the lack of comprehensive development.

Meh, why not, I personally avoided getting any big piles.

I thought about this seriously 2 years ago and in the end had an idea which would be something totally different. Thinking through it for some time made me realize it would need a huge efford to discuss and coding to be realized. So I didn`t went public with it. Now might be the best time to at least share it. The following represent the frame of the idea.

Once you´re attacked by an assassin or deadly sick or poisened you would be moved by the "game" into an inbetween state of "not living and not dead yet". My idea was to mirror the realm of MD with certain locations to be more accessible  than others. On the visual side the art should be altered in some way, blurry or similar as if you look through a thin curtain. Chat with the living should be limited but still possible and again in some locations easier than in others and in certain scenes not possible. This 1st state should be limited by time (some days or weeks) and you should be able to prevent the actual state of death by solving a chain of quests and challenges (e.g. could be fighting with an set of predefined creatures combined with a story or quest). If one is not able to complete the challenges with a certain percentage of success the move to stage 2 (death) should be started. In this 24 hours (real playtime!) scenes should be changing to an unclear vision with even less possible actions ingame. Once arrived in stage 2 (death) communication with the living should be limited to a minimum (maybe only to certain characters who are able to talk with those on the other side). But the scenes should be clear again. A different setting of actions should be possible here but all concentrated to work on a "rebirth". Interaction with other "dead" people should be really powerful and shorten the time one needs to go back to the "reality" of the realm. To define the challenges in the stage of death could be a very pleasant community creation process. Most important from my point of view are the following ideas:

    - the stage of death should be filled with interesting possiblities but at the same time always filled the fear of the side effects of being dead

    being dead could mean:
    - draining of skills (loosing them slowing with percentage per hour real playtime)
    - loosing the importance of a role (until vanishing completely)
    - loosing items, resources (but only after a long time)
    - and perma death after a very long time

Love, is the deepest understanding and connection that one entity can have with another.

This is divided into a few categories, and i wont bother to cover them all, but the basics are Friendly Love, Family Love, and Spousal Love.

Each of these serves its own purpose in the Heart. Love does exist, but whether or not it exists to You (Not you Rider, just the person asking if Loves a myth in general) is something only You can find out.

2/10000 chance to win the 1st prize, 170 tickets means the host has 9660/10000 (roughly estimated, it should be 0.9998^170 = 0.9666 if identical allowed, or 9830*9829/(10000*9999) = 0.9663 if not allowed) chance to keep the prize.

To be a non-profit commercial event (zero-sum game I mean), the first prize should worth around 2sc/(2/10000) = 2500 sc.

The same way to deduce the fair value of 2nd and 3rd prizes:
    2nd:
    Chance to win: 80/10000, value: 2/(80/10000) = 250 sc
    3rd:
    Chance to win: 1800/10000, value: 2/(1800/10000) = 11.11 sc

My suggestion is to increase the rolls of combination and change the prize accordingly. Otherwise it is a losing game for the participants for the long run.
And actually the participants could pick their own combination, identical or not, which would be more interesting but wouldn't change the winning possibilities. (Image for enough long time, it might happen that someone win 10 or more shades, lol). And the more important is it will save you tons of time from generating digits one by one. But just take the records.

Anyway, for a holiday event, it is fun enough:)

Menhir got a reaction from Ary Endleg in question the obvious - round earth or not?
@Mur I was not asking because I didn`t know where the phrase came from, I´m totally aware of it and all the theories behind it. These are theories for everyone as long as you turn them into real knowledge. With the definition of knowledge I gave in my first post I wanted to show that everything we are trying to talk about here in this topic is not knowledge, not our own at least. And everything we take from others, their (real) knowledge, means we have to believe them. So we are believers and followers of their knowledge. I always thought of you as an non-believer and a true seeker ... that´s why I was "impressed" realising that I might be wrong.

There will be no proof at all because everything you´re looking for is outside of you and everything you can KNOW is through your 5 senses which are all (working) inside of you. So if you´re looking for proof you have to look inside yourself. If you look outside yourself for proof you will always be in an illusion.
