1.
All the accounts (regardless if they are still active or not) currently over the 1k credits count: Akasha BigC Shoeps MRG Eon Zleiphneir Ailith Mystic Kyphis Dayredeemer Handy Pockets *Shemhazaj* sasha lilias Yoshi Nava Azull
I don't see ChildOfTheSoul on that list, but I'm really sleep deprived so it's completely possible that I'm just ignoring its existence because I don't expect it to be there. Observer-expectancy effect and all that.
 2.
I thought of having it on the needle (besides for simplicity) because then it would have weakening and disabling causes, and the land cleansers would have movelocking and the ability to move players, basically paring the two items could work great. But I do think having the effect on another item is a good thing as well.
The reason that the land cleanser has two effects is so that something always happens whether your win or you lose. So long as you have a group large enough to use it, you can legislate people. The needle already applies its effect regardless of whether you win or lose, all that changes is the power. Adding another affect to the needle would be… overly supercharging it, I think. Not to mention that "Fierce Needle of Feebleness" doesn't exactly call into mind the idea of being unable to use your items. Handcuffs? Straight-jacket? Repo Men? Tax Collectors? (which makes me wonder if we could have a shared legislator item that repossesses, sends back to the item dispatch, one of someone else's shared items. To me, that's one of the logical steps of having a large operating "police" force. It would need a ton of people helping to work, though.)
 3.
How about adding another use to the needle. People could fight to 'disable' (or a similar word) the person, causing them to not be able to use any inventory items. This could help to deal with issues like Eon and others depleting resources in locations, and would pretty much complete all the ways you can really disable a player.
I'm liking the idea, but would rather see it as another unique legislator item instead of adding another use onto the needle. 1) It gives "police forces" another item for somebody to "be in charge" of. (rounding out the force, so to speak) 2) It makes people choose what they really want. 3) If it were a good idea to have all of the legislation effects on one item, we'd just have something like "The Legislator" that was completely controlled by fight actions and did all of the things, I think. 4) You can never go wrong with more shared items!
 4. When you're working in the lab, and you hear somebody mention that the viscosity is way too high and you literally freak out because you have places to be and you won't have enough time to make it to them and then you'll be late and get in trouble and everyone will be mad at you and dear lord, why doesn't anybody in this room have tea on them… then you realize that they were talking about the viscosity of their liquid solution and this is real life.
 5.
I remember during BHC there was a blue text interface to transfer heads. I wonder if there's a similar way to do that with silver coins. Probably not adaptable, but it seems like it might be something that eventually becomes possible. Haha, "MD of the future".
"Soon"
I think the reason it hasn't been done so far, is the way the system recognizes and groups them together. For resources, it essentially becomes one item. Where as gold/silver, the system can't tell what the next ctc is. A new one is generated every time a new coin is added. So mur would have to make considerable changes to the item console. Just for conveinence sake.
I know there's a way to identify items by name instead of by id, so shouldn't it also be possible to check how many of that item someone has in their inventory? Can someone with more coding experience clarify this?

 7.
*Beats Grido and posts* http://magicduel.inv...__fromsearch__1
Darn. So, only a year and half before I joined the game. Circumstances have changed a little bit though and my suggestion is a little more fleshed out than Grido's. Yeah, let's go with that. And I'd definitely like to see the idea revisited.
 8. I know it's been brought up a lot in game, but I don't think I've seen it make it to the forum… looking through the first couple of pages of New Ideas and the New Ideas thread…
 9. After numerous trades involving large amounts of silver coins, I wondered why there isn't a better way to do this. We've all gone through the process of coin counting and interrupting conversations with large blocks of text that look something like this: : Brulant passed Silver coin to AmberRune : Brulant passed Silver coin to AmberRune : AmberRune passed Gold coin to Brulant : Brulant passed Silver coin to AmberRune : Brulant passed Silver coin to AmberRune : Brulant passed Silver coin to AmberRune : Brulant passed Silver coin to AmberRune : Brulant passed Silver coin to AmberRune : Brulant passed Silver coin to AmberRune : Brulant passed Silver coin to AmberRune My suggestion is to add two new text fields boxes underneath the "Item to Give" drop-down menu in the Inventory sidebar that correspond to amounts of silver coins and gold coins. You would just enter the amount of silver and gold that you want to trade into the boxes, enter the name of the recipient, and click the "give" button (as per usual trades), and instead get a message like this: : Brulant passed 15 Silver Coin(s) and 2 Gold Coin(s) to AmberRune In chat. Faster, less chat destructive, and you easily know exactly how much coin was transfered.
 10.
Could you potentially add public logs to other players, and papers to your "temporary" self? Would you be able to hold new items? Would it be like having a "fresh" account, or drastically different?
I was hoping that it'd be like having a "fresh" account, but I'm not sure how much extra strain that would place on the database.
I thing that this illusion is missing the point of the originial idea. Making an illusion has nothing with starting again from scratch, it is some kind of 'safe' forgetting about our exterior. Making an alt is also wortheless, only the change of the original character can do any change on its development. I don't support this useless illusion, but if a group decides to dive into an MD asceticism I maybe will consider such an action. For inner good.
This is an event suggestion, not a suggestion for a new illusion to be added. I'm saying use the preexisting mechanics of the illusion system, because it's a tool that already exists, to accomplish the effect, not that this idea really fits in with the theory of illusions or should be a permanent thing. Think of it like an Italian Carnival.
The "main" issue with this idea, which generally speaking people seem to like, is that currently if you have an illusory name, that is then the name you have to use to log in. People, if they use their name to log in (you can also use email or ID), they will be prone to get confused I suspect, thinking they're unable to log in for some bug or something.
I had forgotten about that. Could everyone be sent an automated email that has their temporary username in it? Or an announcement placed on the login page to use your ID/email to log in? Or could the mechanic be tweaked slightly? Or, we could just have no one log off for a week
 11.
Everyone could be put into an illusion that, say, changes their name, hides their papers and inventory, removes their creatures, and otherwise "resets" their profile.
Everything hidden.
 12.
Ehh.... I don't really like that idea... Maybe... You get to choose a name, then it give you a random number?
No, that was my point. I don't want to have anything to do with numbers. If everyone in MD suggests two names, we should have a pretty large pool to choose from. Say I suggest Aprins and Ardente, and you suggest Mragual Donarth and Maul, and someone else suggests… etc etc, and then all of the names are randomly assigned to people.
Or everyones names get jumbled up. Dragual might be named Brulant for the time being, Brulant might be named Falronn, and so on. Basically you only know who the person isn't and even then who knows? What if Brulant was still Brulant but decided to act differently? Just an idea I had but probably not the best way to handle it.
I actually kind of like that idea, although I'd like to shake the connotations that are already associated with our already existing characters.
How long would the illusion last? How often could it be used?
I was thinking a week, and it would be applied to everybody all at once. It'd be an event, not really a typical illusion spell. I suggested illusions because that seems the best mechanic we have for making it happen.
 13. See, I still feel as if that's too impersonal though. We could just go completely numeric and be 1, 2, 3, and so on. But that's no fun, is it?
 14. Well, there's the always boring "Mask ###", OR we could have everyone suggest two or three names which would them be assigned to everyone randomly when the illusion is activated. Something like that? Edit: I don't think we should be able to chose our own names, because I know I probably wouldn't be able to resist doing something clever that links back to Brulant somehow. And it'd be interesting to see how we adapt our temporary roles to the names we get. Feel free to disagree.
 15. I'm splitting this from this because I really do think it's an interesting idea and want to see if there's any discussion to be had about it.
I think it would be interesting to have a period of time that acts as a Masquerade. Everyone could be put into an illusion that, say, changes their name, hides their papers and inventory, removes their creatures, and otherwise "resets" their profile. No one would know who each other are after the reset takes place. Then, for that period of time, the game could be played as if everyone had started at the same time. When the illusion ends, everyone would return exactly to normal (as has been demonstrated recently) and the Masquerade would be over. Of course, there would probably be a few spoilsports who immediately tell everyone who they are, but, overall, I think that could be fun. Or at least interesting.
The opinion has been expressed that if you want the effect of starting fresh, you could just make an alt, but to that I have this to say.
Player X: It's interesting but I think I'm with whoever said "Just get an alt" Brulant: See, the problem with "getting an alt" is that everyone else hasn't changed. Brulant: You're still operating in a world with characters that are already defined. Brulant: There's something to be said for the fresh-slate-for-everyone approach, I think. Brulant: Because, let's say that I make an alt right now and walk over here. Brulant: I see you, and I know you're you, because I (as a player) know who Player X is. Brulant: I won't be able to not treat you like Player X, unless I'm consciously trying really hard to do so. Player X: *mumbles* not the first time that's happened this week Brulant: That's what makes playing an true "alt" so hard. Brulant: It'd be fun to see if the same people became friends, if the same enemies hated one another, or if the die would roll differently.
Is the type of mass illusion I talk about mechanically possible right now? Would it be interesting? Thoughts? Edit: Disclaimer: This is a suggestion for an event that would last for something like a week, NOT a suggestion for a new type of illusion. Think of it like a Masquerade Carnival, I'm just piggybacking on the system that's already in place to see if we can make this work.
 16. When I read this earlier in the evening, I dismissed it out of hand. As I've thought about it though, the idea, or something similar to it, has grown on me.
 17.
That'd have another interesting effect, which is probably a little destructive... Cauldrons are built to be used by groups of two, would that mean that you need to team up with somebody else to solve one of the hardcoded quests?
What about an MP3 and a vet? That way the MP3s learn sort of how to use the cauldrons, and they start making connections in the Realm. The MP3 would still have to gather all of the stuff and learn the steps to brew it, so I don't see any obvious reason why a vet couldn't help them. And wouldn't that also solve the heat problem?
 18.
Now I regret posting it. Will a mod please lock this topic?
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Never regret posting an idea that you sincerely think would improve MD. Mmkay? I really like the idea of a global mute button, or at least some more mute functions, in MD. As Pip said, it should be pretty easy to integrate and would really improve things for me. I like to be online as much as possible, but the sounds can get really distracting. Especially when you're trying to work
 19.
1. Active Days: Below 365, but higher than 100.* *Slight variances are acceptable.
I believe Cots is contending that 41 days is an acceptable slight variance, BFH.

 21. Okay, I've gotten this question… a lot. So I'm going to make a comprehensive list that I can just link to for future reference. If I misremember anything about making tea (it's been a while) or details get too specific and it's considered a spoiler, let me know. I hope this helps all future tea-brewers! - B P.S. Here's Mur's original post, should you want to read it. Here's how you run the teapot. (Full step by step instructions)

Collect a teapot, tea recipe book, water, branches, tea leaves, aromatic herbs, and tea cups from their various locations.
Gather enough heat to fuel the teapot in a heat storing device (i.e. a heat jar).
Open your inventory
Open the teapot.
Load the required heat into the teapot. Warning: When the heat that you have loaded into the teapot reaches zero, the branches and water will be consumed and you will have to reload them.
Load the required branches and water into the teapot.
FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO BREW TEA WITH. This is necessary because the teapot holder cannot provide ingredients for making tea nor can they give themselves the instructions. Cauldrons were meant to be community items, use them in groups! This should/could be step number 1!
Give your tea making partners the tea leaves, water, aromatic herbs, and tea cups you will be using to produce tea.
When the water, branches, and heat are loaded and you click continue you should get a screen like this.

That little countdown timer next to "Next instruction in…" tells you how quickly and when the teapot is checking chat for instructions. Warning: If they are large amount of people talking where you are trying to prepare tea, things could get a little sticky.
Now you must clearly say "Lets brew some tea.", "Lets prepare some tea.", or "I will prepare a nice cup of aromatic tea." You should get a green message in chat that confirms that you are now brewing tea and states what the necessary ingredients are. At this point your, the teapot holder's, part in this is nearly done. Now your tea making buddy (TMB) steps in.
The tea recipe calls for specific resources; aromatic herbs, water, tea leaves, and tea cups. Your TMB(s) must possess all of these ingredients in their necessary amounts and "give" them to the teapot by using the words, "I will provide the [blank]." Where you substitute the name of the item in place of the blank. The ingredients do not all have to come from one person nor do they have to be provide in their full amount by a single person.
The teapot will then tell you in chat and in green text that all of the ingredients are loaded and it's ready to go. If you have not provided all of the ingredients it will tell you what you still need to provide.
At this point your TMB(s) have to give you, the tea-brewer, the Instructions. The Instructions are basically (sort of) the steps you would need to brew tea. They need to be stated one at a time per one cycle of the "Next Instruction In…" countdown timer. If you feed the teapot too many instructions at once, it will miss some of them.
The instructions are as follows:

1. "Spread the leaves over the teapot's base."

2. "Add some water."

3. "Boil the water."

4. "Pour the hot water into the teapot."

5. "Wait for five minutes."

6. "Serve up the tea."

note: There are other phrases that work for each step, those are just my favorite. 17. The teapot will dispense a red completion message and you will smell a wonderful smell. There will be tea in your inventory. 18. Divide up the tea with your TMBs! They helped you, they deserve some of the tea too.
22.
Actually using a silence spell and leaving it openly in chat afterwards at an RP occasion
I would like to apologize for leaving the spell in chat. A couple of you know that I've been sick the last couple of days with a, "head thing," but, sometime during the wedding, it decided to turn into a, "stomach thing," and my head was in the literal toilet shortly after I silenced Eon. Having just lost my lunch, I returned to chat rather irritable (and still am due to lack of sleep from said "stomach thing"). I really didn't want to bring it up during the wedding because, well, it's a wedding and no one needs to hear about me being sick. Again, I am sorry for leaving the spell in chat.
