  1. So one of the things I do to pass time is daydream about video games I'd like to play, and think are generally pretty kool. Often, I'm told my ideas are pretty decent and that those who I talk about them with would love to play them. (Though... I'm paranoid about the obvious possibilities of "white lies") I'd like to share these ideas with you guys to see if you'd consider playing them, or what you'd do differently. One of my favorite ideas is a Zombie Apocalypse MMORPG. Basically, on character creation you choose a profession. Scavenger, an expert at picking out the best supplies to grab out of garbage; Soldier, an expert on warfare and combat tactics; Scout, an expert in stealth and recon; Medic, knows more about medicine than simple first aid; Engineer, a master at planning the construction of defenses and structures; Crafter, can take simple things and transform them into gear for nearly anyone on the team. After choosing your profession, you go through the base appearance customization. Finally, you choose a starting location which places you in your own instance (If you need definitions for things, lemme know). Suburban apartment, Farmhouse, or Hospital. Each of the three have their own benefits for supplies you can gather. Once you arrive in your selected starting location, your character will begin to realize what is happening in the world around him. EVERYONE IS DYING, AND THE DEAD ARE DOING THE KILLING! :O Armed with a weapon based on your selected profession that you happen to find lying around, you are allowed to explore the world around you. One thing you will find is that the larger group of survivors, the more zombies that attack them and Zombies hordes attack at least once a night (there are still zombies wandering around everywhere). Players will be allowed to team up, and begin to make their own shelters. They can also take over abandoned structures around them (with a required distance from all other survivor structures) Walls, Traps, Trenches and look-out towers are all possible to be constructed. There will be an array of Zombies to be battled. You'll find Zombies that tackle you and scratch at you, some that rush at you with to bite, some that crawl... And many more. There will also be Zombie wolves, bears, crows, dogs and other animals. Finally, you will find bandits heavily armed who will actually attack just to take your supplies. Not to mention, PvP will be open to the degree that other survivor groups can drive by, steal your goods, and run off.
  2. I'm assuming, from previous comments, that the issue is the absence of someone special. The solution I've developed for this is "Don't think of how much you miss them now, but how happy you will be when you do see them". Don't think of how long it will be until you can see them, but that you only have that long until you can see them again. Somethings require a bit of optimism.
  3. Maybe one young, and one old?
  4. Did you know that a dream can have a heart beat?

    1. Maebius

      Maebius

and it flutters or pounds, through more than just that Dream....

  5. What items would you have? Perhaps a dirt shovel for fishing bait?
  6. Name: Dragual Monarth ID: 206015 AD: 551 I can certainly keep a secret. I do what I can to consider things from every angle, and am generally open-minded. Since this is a public task, I'd obviously be doing everything I can to express to the rest of the council all of the views I could, even if I were to disagree with said view. I believe it is important that my thoughts come second to that of the rest of the community since I am just one man, not several. (Though, I guess that's what it means to be "unbiased")
  7. Well, one thing that helped me out a lot was Mya's newbie quest. Perhaps someone could revamp that quest and get continued sponsorship to solve the issue of "confused newbies." Since it is, after all, a roleplay based game. Perhaps a particular player from each land. Not a monarch, since the role of a king would logically be that they are "too busy with more important matters". But perhaps the monarchs could hire someone to do this... Someone like a tutor. So you would see yet another new role. Necrovion Tutor, Lorerootian Tutor, etc. So make an in-game tutorial specifically for mechanics. Add the tutors to handle a quest as to how the game works beyond the mechanics.

  9. I've been playing Mortal Online a bit...
  10. This is a good idea. I like that. [Seen that Change suggested the same thing. :P]
  11. Or the viscosity in an area could be amplified by low amounts of resources/depletion. I would like it if there was some sort of "depletion counter" that showed the amount of scenes in a land that are depleted. Then once, say 2/3 of the scenes are depleted, viscosity will change from (-80 to +40) to (-20 to +60). Could even make staged of this as well... to where the final stage takes place when the amount of scenes that are depleted are 5/6 and it will become (+10 to +90).
  12. What I want in this matter is irrelevant. But since you ask, I want you to be true to your word and create a true apology.
  13. I see bones.... But no flesh. With out the flesh, I can no sincerity.
  14. But how will a new player know to read the rules page? When we first start out, we have all this information we need to consume. You could make some type of npc quest that needs to be complete to be able to advance to MP4 on top of or as an alternative to the standing requirements. Something like "Go here, activate the clickie and read this info. Then answer these questions based on the info read." As far as I see, there is only one npc newbie quest, which is what most new players are looking for. A way to get a grip of how the game works. It is also possible that certain locations be locked off until completion of parts, if not all of the quest.
  15. You could implement the basics of what the announcements contain in the tutorial.
  16. Then that needs to be stated in an update announcement. As far as I can see, you demand that all rookies read through all of the announcements so if one is incorrect, it needs to be stated somewhere.
  17. I didn't even remember posting this until you brought it back to life. xD
