Development Focus - What needs to be worked on next?

Featured Replies

I'd suggest "research and connection".

Right now we can only achieve second research depth, while the clues go up to level 8.

Plus, we (I?) don't know who is supposed to receive/rate our research and how to get unstuck in this feature.

I'll agree with the 2 above and categorize them as in need of being finished. (by creature page I believe he means its completion - I don't know if the current HTML5 format is the intended final one; or, perhaps he means the fix of the flash format)

Now, I'll apologize and disagree with what I first said, because I just found something which I find more annoying/frustrating. :P The random disconnects which come as a result of quick clicking in Chrome, and as a result of I have no idea what, in Firefox. Though, if this can't be fixed because it requires browser tweaks, I'll stick to what I said first.

There's multiple things I'd like to see done, divide my vote evenly among them.

  • Regen timer bugfixes
    • I suggest that the timers become 100% server side, then when they hit zero the timers would regen each player in them and maybe do something extra for special timers (eg Tea)
    • When a player loads layout.php have the timer get the timer's time from server, and then sync 'every so often'. Preferably at times when the player isn't likely to be looking at the timer such as when they are viewing messages, doing combat, or viewing the map.
  • Rituals interface
    • A new one would be nice for faster creation of rituals
    • Allow players to check a greyed-out box under "def ritual" that only ungreys when the def ritual box is checked. When the newbox is checked the ritual wouldn't be in the "rituals list" it would be part of the "invisible rituals" list. This would prevent players from binding hundreds of def rituals at once and then heavily straining the db every time they load the combat rituals list ;);)
  • Clicky Scripting
    • I'd like to see MDscript become more powerful as a language. Allowing us to declare functions would be a massive boon and anything after that could really just be an extra (although having structures like in C would be nice :P)
    • What EE described would also be cool (although could be done with functions as well :P)
  • Creature page HTML5
    • Giving this healing buttons would be an AWESOME addition for players with many crits
  • Popups being misaligned in chrome
    • I wanna click the x, not refresh every time
  • Interface window deactivated bugs
    • This thing is really annoying, often happens when I click too fast when fighting

Avatar managing by dedicated Avatar Managers. Meaning the Avatar managers should have more power on dealing with avatars - editing, uploading, changing and etc. I'd like to see the idea that was presented to you a while ago about adding functionality to the Avatar Tokens implemented, even more that we already had few ideas behind it.

I say this as an Avatar Manager because I know I can't always be on this position as much as I want to. Eventually I'd have to die and move on, right? :D

Still... please clarify, iv no clue what you are talking about.

Please ignore the last 2 messages I've posted here; its a misunderstanding.

Now I am saying that there's still a small (unexpected) problem with the creature page system which I want to report but can't post in public because it contains private info (my crits) that cannot be avoided.

I will post more development focus ideas later :)

Follow the bug reporting guidelines. If there is a bug we need to fix it, if its private talk among LHO's then send it to me via email.

I think finishing the HTML 5 creature list would be a viable project. Technically the entire game should be converted  to HTML 5 but the creature page is a step in the right direction.

I'll vote for the false reset timer display fix.

Does it realy reset the timer and I lose time, it's not just my imagination right?

I hate it so much when I have 2 minutes left, (leave) and 7-8 when I come back to check it and no AP was gained.

It's not your imagination. Here you can see how exactly it works wrong.

I would like you to do alittle on the Ritual Page.

Like rophs said, something that will let you sort your Rituals. Prefferably by Name, Influence and Def/Non-Def.

Also. And this is probably my main point: A button, that will let you erase all Dead rituals. Or a feature, that makes them "Decay" after a while. It is very frustrating, to have to delete your rituals one at a time, manually. Being picky is simply not an option, and you will not see anyone surf their Ritual List. Instead, they will just delete every ritual they have, when the list gets too much out of control.

It exists in the MD Shop.

Indeed, the "Remove all forgotten" button can be bought from shop.

As for a button to remove ALL rituals ... that is one dangerous feature.

I don't know for you, but I have lots of "specialized" rituals: for healing, for losing heat, for most damage, for defense. All these I will never want removed , on the contrary, I'd like those protected for removal.

A good feature, from my point of view, would be to have the "protect ritual" and be able to pass this information to creatures too so that you would not sacrifice creatures in those rituals.
