lashtal Posted May 25, 2021 Report Posted May 25, 2021 Today I realized I lost some of the older private messages - both sent and received. I'm pretty sure I didn't canceled them on purpose (I mean in-game PMs, not the forum ones). I don't think I have exceeded the limit because I used to have more. Do private messages get canceled once they are too old? If so, when do they become "too old"? Quote
Kaya Posted May 25, 2021 Report Posted May 25, 2021 PMs expire after some time, 1 month according to the announcement https://magicduel.com/page/Announcement/view/2802 Quote
lashtal Posted May 25, 2021 Author Report Posted May 25, 2021 Thank you Kaya, I was aware of their decay. "You cannot send a message back because the PM is too old. Send a new PM if you wish to reply." Still, I can read the PM, I have a couple that are 11 months 4 weeks old. I was wondering when they disappear from the inbox. Quote
Fang Archbane Posted May 25, 2021 Report Posted May 25, 2021 I could be wrong, but I want to say last I heard it was a year or so that stale old pms just go poof. I'd double check with Chewie though. redneck 1 Quote
Ungod Posted May 25, 2021 Report Posted May 25, 2021 one month? yea, that's probably how long they last (i wasn't sure of the length) you still have a few that are older than that because you deleted the new ones, so that your inbox was never full Quote
Root Admin Chewett Posted May 25, 2021 Root Admin Report Posted May 25, 2021 Messages are deleted after a year according to the code unless they are unread or marked as important. However maybe we should increase this to 5 years? Fang Archbane 1 Quote
lashtal Posted May 25, 2021 Author Report Posted May 25, 2021 Thanks for the clarification, it makes sense. 51 minutes ago, Chewett said: Messages are deleted after a year according to the code unless they are unread or marked as important. How do I mark them as important? Quote
Root Admin Chewett Posted May 25, 2021 Root Admin Report Posted May 25, 2021 Thats an admin only feature to highlight messages sent. You can't. Quote
