All around you are big and small things. Thye are big or small because you compare them to eachother. Take two things you want, one big, one small, then try to see things comparing to them in such way that they will look exactly the oposite. For example, (i love small things) take an ant, and a car (i suppose you dont have an elefant?) Look at the car ..is it small or big? dificult to say, because you have to compare it to something. At first , the most natural answer is the car is BIG, and the ant is SMALL. But look at the car in such way that you will realise how small it is. Compare it to the surrounding buildings, to the sky, to anything large enough to make that ca…

I had an idea based on a post that Morrel put up awhile ago that I really liked. It showed his process for developing avatars. I know many of us have different ways of approaching our drawings and I thought it might be a cool thing for us to put up process drawings showing how we develop the artwork. For instance, I usually don't trace pictures to get poses right, I typically start with sketches to get the form and flesh it out, which results in a much different character than morrel's drawings. I'll post an example of my process later, but if anyone else wants to post theirs first, feel free. I'd also like to encourage anyone to ask questions about inspiration, t…

Just wanted to discuss the recent discovery of a large mass that exists seemingly outside of our own universe which is exerting a strong gravitational pull on...well...everything. The original articles concerning this can be found here: http://dsc.discovery.com/news/2008/09/25/u...-dark-flow.html http://blogs.discovery.com/news_earth/2008...rse-tugged.html So my question is, what does everyone believe is beyond our universe?

  9. Ok, i know the poll its a bit strange, and no i am not recruiting you in some kind of sect of missunderstood persons LOL. Also i appologise i refered only to christianity , but i do have a good reason for that and i dont want to extend that reason to other religions, but you think of your own religion when answering the questions, its almost the same. As a note, i keep my beliefs neutral, for the public, so dont feel offended or excluded because i wont talk about or include in the list your cult, religion, sect, fangroup, gang or whatever that is that you belive in. Usualy such a poll splitts friendships and kills brothers, and i realise that when it comes from me…

Personality means to view and act on things from your own point of view Realism means to view and act on things from everybodys point of view 1. is that right? argument 2. - if so, how can you be a realist person with personality - if not, how would you decribe personality and realism in just a few words like above note: i might not have the right word for realism. what i mean is a person that tries to make things very very objective and according to the general perceived reality without beeing influenced by personal feelings and habits. ---- This is first School of Thought "lesson". I wont teach you anything, i will make you teach yourselves. Anyone is welcome…

So far I had been thinking about my own actions and then had to ask myself: How do I act? Three possibilities were given: Instinctively (is this a seperate category?) Emotional Rationally (this should be clear) Subconciously (This is the weirdest one for me..it implies your subconciousness knows what might happen and lets you act in a certain manner. Does not fit into the first two categories.) If I were to ask myself I wouldn't know which I am. I would assume I am a mix out of all, like other people in general are..but for my taste that 3rd category, subconciously, has to be emphasized. Is there truly such a thing? And if yes, how would you try to explain it? (Ye…

Find a vey very quite place. close all communication ways to external world, internet, phones, door bell etc. Try to think about nothing, clear your mind of every single though in it, try to make it perfect. Now it all explodes - will your mind create ideeas and fill itself with remaining parts of daily routine and events? or will it remain perfectly empty? 1) if it remains empty, can you hold that for 5min? (without thinking of the clock!! dont cheat, think of nothing!) 30min?....how about 1 hour?! 2) if it starts to become filled with fractures of thoughts, how dificult is it to clear it, is it even possible? Try on your own risk

Should there be a place where this kind of philosophy can be taught? Could the Sage's Keep be opened for such a School? I suppose this is a question directed at Mur, but I'm posting a poll for feedback.

The general opinion seems to be that reality is the collection of what we experience and see in the world 'outside' I state that reality is an illusion, I know that is difficult to understand, I would like to start with small steps to show you what I mean. So please just answer the questions. Note: When I say reality is an illusion, I don't mean it's a 'dream' or doesn't exist, just that what we think is reality is in fact not. Here is something I'd like you to try before answering. below are some optical illusions you can find on the Internet. But I'd like you to use them for something different then amusement. This animated gif is a girl dancing clockwise or coun…
