I know exactly what you’re talking about! I literally just sat here and read every single one of our 40-50 some odd private messages and just reminiscing. You were one of the 2  people from this game that I really connected with outside of the main game.
I remember how you used to get so many people upset and I remember defending you, and feeling bad for you because I felt like sometimes you just didn’t realize it or didn’t know any better. I wanted to help you out and show you some guidance so that next time you met them, maybe it wouldn’t be as bad of an experience. Though I will say, I never realized it was fake hostility and I’m sure most people that you had the hostility with thought it was real as well! Haha.

im not going to lie, I wouldn’t be here right now if it weren’t for Chewitt throwing me a random message. Though I’m glad he did! I got to read your messages and even this and it just brought back so much for me.

I will always stay young at heart! Probably because of my hyperness lol. But here is to our long lasting friendship and to say no matter how things change or how much time goes by, we will always be friends and you will always have a place in my heart!  I love you too! ????

Oh man, I do hope this isn't a farewell. Want to meet you one last time at least... I mean, I hope it won't be the last time, but you know what I mean.
7 years ago. Damn I remember, I do. Exactly the bittersweet memories you speak of.
All those freaking years of demanding change, and look. Its change that pulled us all apart in the end. And then all that's left is reminiscence.

Vicious got a reaction from VertuHonagan in Where have the years gone?
Gosh, it's been quite a while since I've spoken to anyone here. Even the odd person I kept in touch with, I have the last messages sent... A year ago.
I'm reading over stuff, thinking about the past and the people in it. It's weird to think that other people have been getting on with their own lives. I kind of imagine the people that "lived" here as not ever really ageing or changing in the least. Obviously, I watched people change in front of my eyes and just didn't really ever notice it. I wish I could hear everyone's stories since the last time I spoke to them, to see if everyone else has changed as much as I imagine they have. I'd be surprised if they hadn't to be honest.
I'm don't know how things are going at the minute. I haven't asked, I don't really want to. In my mind, this is the place it always used to be back when I used to frequent it. There's honestly a special place in my heart for the people and places here, and it makes me tear up a little to type that, feeling silly as all heck as I do. I don't know whether this is a Hello, or a Goodbye, or what else it really could be. Something I can't put into words. That's a bit unlike me, these days. I like to think that I'm just a tad more articulate, flowery, expressive, whatever.
I've had a lot of issues with expression in the past. Perhaps I wanted people to notice when I radically changed? I don't think they did, or they were kind enough to not point it out in a rude way. Maybe that's why I chose this sort of shapeshifter persona, despite how outright irritating that must have been back in the day. I loved to play characters and switch things up, and I think a lot of that was finding myself, as sappy as it reads to my own eyes. I guess my real point here is just in a way that I probably gave off a lot of wrong impressions. I don't mean that in a fake way. I'm not really planning on re/kindling up a bunch of friendships. I didn't know how to get across what I wanted sometimes. Fake hostility probably came out a lot as real hostility. This applies to EVERYONE I ever spoke to at any point. I can't say I've ever... Really, truly, actually despised anyone here, or even remotely disliked anyone for longer than a minute. No, not even you.
It's bittersweet to read over things. Surprisingly, more sweet than bitter. I can't put my finger on it. I feel detached from who I used to be, though as a few people have alluded to in the past, I'm a different person entirely publicly and privately, normally.
Maybe some of you haven't had a break (and I type that assuming this is going to be read by anyone, I'm fairly sure it isn't.) Maybe you're thinking about what a random little thing this is. I sure am! I've been gone for years though, I think, and think I needed to say something, though I know I've said things along these lines before, but perhaps not as heartfelt as it is now, with all the experience and knowledge I've gotten under my belt since those times.
Anti-climax. Apologies. Sorry for being an annoying little s- sugarcube. I appreciate beyond what I can express in words all the things that you did for me though, intentionally or not, well-intentioned or not.
I love you all, best of luck in whatever you've moved onto since we last spoke, and I hope you're all as young-at-heart as you were back then too. Here's to... I guess... Seven years ago?

The tournament has finished, be prepared to greet your new champion!
but let us begin with the beginning, the fight for bronze: Ledah vs No one
No one was so impressed with Ledah's path through the tournament he kindly bowed out to maintian his honor. (Or the other world kept him from completing his fight is in a reasonable timeframe).
Leaving the MD truest fossil as bronze medalist, proving that age is just a number!

And now, the main event, the legendary fight between a (former) king and a god! Jubaris vs Chewett!
this much anticipated battle more than delivered, these two oldtimers exchanged jabs without a second thought. when the bell ran and the fight was over only one was left standing... the one and only...
well done, well done. and as his armor showed not an easy win. a 3-1 result however giving a clear image that his victory was hardfought.
of course our losing finalist deserves praisings too, a tournament regular that always ends up in the top is certainly a sign of skill.
from the discussion during and after the brawl we have gathered some interesting information, here are some reactions from our finalists:
Jubaris has shown his skill in battle throughout many times over, this is a key example of his wisdom:
as for our finalist, only a mastermind strategy could be used to earn this crown, this is what he had to say on the matter:
Clear signs these gentlemen are at the top of the foodchain!

And for now the most important part the rewards:
    1) Chewett:
the honor of carrying the title of Equilibrium Champion
    1 WP
    1 anniv creature
    Golden wreath
    2) Jubaris:
    4 gold coins
    1 anniv creature
    3) Ledah
    2 gold coins
    1 anniv creature

This concludes this Equilibrium tournament. I would like to thank all contestans for making this tourney a truely challenging experience. I'd also like to thank the treasury for their generous donations towards our victors.
I hope to see you all again next edition. And who knows you could be the next Champion!

Vicious got a reaction from Sushi in What is Wiiya to you?
Wiiya, as a resource, has always been described as representing Identity. This is shown in a few different ways:
The resource is eponymous, it is a symbol of someone who used to frequent here, a recognition and remembrance of who they were and their role, even if the specific memories fade. The rituals surrounding the gathering of Wiiya have always been accompanied with discussions, stories and the creation of memories. Many say that we are the result of our memories and our past, perhaps this is more true in MD. The use of Wiiya is about granting or shifting identities, specifically of creatures. The transformation and growth through the resource is not just for creatures though, the sharing of our thoughts transforms us. Awiiya made a powerful statement about how the realm seemed to have disregarded the importance of a lot of things, and how it felt like people could no longer make that same impact, but how he himself had managed to become a landmark in MD. I can't say how true this is, but it's hard to disagree with part of that sentiment. Awiiya, despite their absence, is still here with us in many ways, from the scenes that honour him up and the tools that memorialise him. Throughout this month, people will be discussing a resource inspired by someone that lived within these realms, new ways of sparking life into it, and perhaps talking about all the old legends and legacies that people might have forgotten about.
It would be a sort of poetic justice for such a resource so deeply rooted in the creation of legend to allow others to set out on creating their own. It already is, in some ways. We see how Rophs has based his current role on the seedwalks that take place, invigorating life within MD, even if there is some criticism coming from some about the absences in this role. There was a time, years ago, when events like this were not important to the people who. in a way, live here. Now, even with the community still going strong in some ways, we are not as connected as we used to be. It's easy to mistake MD for something dead when walking around, in a way that wasn't possible in the times when I frequented it more.
What brought me back to MD and made me linger for this long rather than turning my back once more was finding the people here, old-new people folk. The birthday event was powerful in a way that I didn't expect. It brought back so much, and made me realise all over again that MD, despite where I live physically, despite my flag being the one for Portugal, I know that MD will always, always be my home, a significant part of my identity and who I became. It's not something I discuss with people I know out of the realms, but it's something that I feel, and something that I think others might feel when they consider who they are to some extent.
So, one thing I can say for certain is that Wiiya is a symbol of identity, the sharing of identity and a way of granting identity. Any purpose that it is given to the resource and the gathering of the resource should always be closely related to identity. Perhaps nothing so shallow as the creation and transformation of creatures, but instead something far deeper, like the creation of ourselves and who we are in the realms, a way of keeping our most important stories alive so that others can see that this is a place in which people lived, and still do live.
Whatever changes come, I beg that whoever decides what these changes are, that they make them something which transforms how we see MD and ourselves within it, as well as the experience of newcomers and old visitors.

    [Updated]
After some discussion with quest participants, I have decided to set the deadline for requests for item artwork for the 2nd of June this year(30 days), after which the reward will expire, as I cannot leave this in my workflow forever due to indecision.
Items may be found in the MD shop or by trading with others; unique or personal items can be requested from an administrator such as Mur or Chewett, sometimes in exchange for a wishpoint, although they may choose not to implement your item.
    Thank you for your understanding.

I certainly did not expect to win this avatar, but I promise it shall go to a character worthy of its beauty; I vow that it should not stay locked within a vault, but be displayed by one who shall provide of further depth to her being.

    Time's up~

First of all, thank you for your participation & inputs! It's more than I expected and I really enjoyed reading all the submissions.

It's hard to choose coz I like all of them, especially Vicious, Aia & Ailith’s stories! I think their stories are very dramatic and more engaged with the MD theme. Also it’s interesting that Ungod’s story reminds me of a Japanese horror manga “Tomie”, and Fang actually created a love story/backstory of himself, Nava was very close to the deadline but he made it.

So congratulations! I changed my mind, everyone will receive a reward~
(I should find a judge next time :P)

Aia - the avatar & a colored item artwork
    Vicious - colored item artwork
    Ailith - colored item artwork
    Ungod - b&w item artwork
    Fang - b&w item artwork
    Nava - b&w item artwork

*you can sell/trade/give away the rewards whatever u like.
I will contact the participants individually via forum pm. ????‍♀️

Vicious got a reaction from Lazarus in What repeatedly consumable items would you use?
Sculpting Tools - Allows you to create figurines out of wood or other materials for players (Alternatively, Tiny Men or Aramors). (Could be used with Pure Gold, Iron Ingots, Crystals, Gems, Cut Diamond etc.)  (Could allow for long-range spellcasting on a target, but have it be used up? Different materials could have multiple uses?) Requires materials and perhaps some heat.
I second Ailith, an item that creates a jumplink would be great for when the celebration is over and the meeting casts run out. I was under the assumption that some scenes were already protected from jumping?
Feathery Quill - Allows you to write on paper to create notes that you can pass around, or potentially even write on books with multiple pages as a physical item.
Sun Orb - Turns the scene from Night into Day for a short time.
Training Dummy - Creates an unkillable monster (Empty Aramor type thing) with a low attack reset time (or none) to train rituals on. No losses or wins can come from it.
Sketching Pencil - Used with paper, allows the user to capture a player's avatar or a scene in their inventory. This can be viewed at any time. Requires heat.
Incense Holder - Allows the user to burn herbs using heat, providing various effects, more random for unidentified herbs.
Fungal Transposer - Converts 10 flowers into an edible mushroom which gives a small boost or restores missing vitality/AP/EP.
Fungal Transposer - Converts 10 flowers into an edible mushroom which makes the user hallucinate. (Could be used for fun stuff like the Nightshade or to see things like the carnival or defeated monsters again?)
Cold Mold - Coverts water into Ice, which reduces personal heat or the heat of a creature.
Dueling Sword - Allows you to duel with another, rock paper scissors style. Players pick the consequences of losing out of 3 options, and the number of rounds up to ten. Both must agree to duel.
Erolin Shard - Sacrifices VP and fills with heat, which can be transferred to items, but not yourself.
Cleansing Brew - New tea recipe or something, cures debilitating effects. Uses minerals or crystals, water and heat.
Flower Identifier - Converts the Flowers resource into a type of flower, or turns multiple into a bouquet of flowers.
Treasure Hunt Shovel - Allows you to bury items and dig for them.
Warm Cloak - Prevents Erolin loss.
Viscosity Torch - Channelling Erolin heat reduces the room's viscosity over time. Each regeneration has an impact.
Viscous Oil - Increases Viscosity in an area. Made from a mixture of herbs.
Heat Pebble - Reheats cold tea for more heat.

I have many more, though don't wish to take up the whole thread.

Edit: A particularly evil idea came to me once I'd finished and posted this...

Frying Pan - Converts baby creatures into yummy meals. Eggs become omelettes. Elemental eggs become elemental omelettes. Young Knators become Fried Knator Steak, and you can get some Grasan Rump too if you want. Requires heat, maybe some oil too.       Just an idea

Decided to just throw this up. It's not vital to anything but there is some other stuff I plan on sending to Chewett privately. I didn't write this intending to be snobby or to criticise, and it's the curse of those correcting grammar to screw things up. Please note that I was educated in British English and learnt from British English style models, yet am trying to conform to an American English style. Pinch of salt, etc.

Players that were online in the last 60 minutes, or if they've just passed that location can be seen in grey, or will show in orange if they are in that location at that exact moment.
I suppose you could use either, but this is arguably a more accurate determiner in this particular circumstance. The same goes for the preposition. You could say that you are "in" a location but it is more accurate to say that you are "at" a location.

    RP Reality Requirement
This is an indicator to/which remind/s you that some things are more real than others, even in a fantasy world, depending on how many observe the same "reality." How firmly you are anchored in MagicDuel's reality, or how careless you are about your role-play (RP), will probably determine your future in the realm, but for now it's just an indicator.
This is an indicator that reminds you that some things are more real than others, even in a fantasy world, depending on how many observe the same "reality". How well you are anchored in MagicDuel's reality, or how careless you are about your role-play(RP), will probably determine your future in the realm, but for now it's just an indicator.
Again, awkward determiner use, and then there's a full stop outside the parenthesised "reality," which American English style models would most likely disagree with. The adverb firmly is more accurate than well. Having Roleplay(RP) is acceptable but it's easier to read if split up.

Below is a description of each Reality Requirement:
    - Intimate: 2 or less people. RP is unrestricted, reality is irrelevant between two people if both accept the fantasy.
    - Loose: 3 to 5 people. RP can go wild, but common sense is required. As long as the other few accept it, most things are fine.
    - Moderate: 6 to 10 people. RP is considered real only if it is based on proof or good logic. Your avatar may give you elements to support that logic as well as your inventory items, a very well established role in a clear and distinct activity, things in the current location/scene, or abilities you posses.
    - Strict: 11 to 30 people. Only real things, irrefutable to anyone present. These are the things you can do based on your actual abilities such as spells or special interfaces, actions supported by your inventory items, fights, and other interface supported actions. Simple logic without a real base to support it is not enough to form reality under this level.
    - Real Only: 31 or more people. In large groups, only what you can do in such way that is undeniable to anyone observing it, can pass as reality. What you do under this level should be stricter than the strict level and as real as it can get, so that nobody can say or think "no you couldn't possibly do that" or "you are making things up."

You could write: Below is a list of Reality Requirements and what they entail. This is less pretentious? Also, there should be a colon before a list ideally. Instead of overusing colons, I decided to use As Well As to begin a list. There's also a stutter in consistency when the last listed Reality Requirement doesn't have people on it. It's obvious, and people know, but it just helps. Again, I've moved full stops to inside the quotation marks.

Fantasy is not chaos, sometimes it's more real than you think. Understanding what "real" means, or should mean, is a big step forward in understanding what "fantasy" really is.

    Location Viscosity
Viscosity of a location determines the increase or drop in action point(AP) cost for moving or using clickables in that location. It is determined by how often the place is visited by yourself or others. Visited more recently, the location memory becomes more fluid and fresh, thus the AP cost is less. Viscosity builds up over time and makes long forgotten places even harder to access. It is possible that the viscosity will render certain deserted places fully off limits if nobody visits them for a long period of time, or make other locations that have a naturally high AP cost easily accessible when when more people go through them. The value and its influence is shared by everyone in the same location.

Viscosity builds up over time and makes long forgotten places even harder to access. Action Point cost rings better than Action Points Cost. The comma used simply breaks up the sentence and makes it less flowing. This place as opposed to that place feels strange. AP only capitalises the A in a few places for some reason. The use of "This Room" feels very specific?

Gosh, this is a draining and arduous way to do things!  I'll consider different ways of doing things, but I'm taking a short rest for now. I hope I'm excused for posting in this thread multiple times?

Decided to just throw this up. It's not vital to anything but there is some other stuff I plan on sending to Chewett privately. I didn't write this intending to be snobby or to criticise, and it's the curse of those correcting grammar to screw things up. Please note that I was educated in British English and learnt from British English style models, yet am trying to conform to an American English style. Pinch of salt, etc.

Below is a list of what each Reality Requirement means.

Ahead is a bit out of place here. Not an incredibly major issue really. Looks wonky is all.

Just moving full stops to the inside of things. Also, the semicolon is being used here instead of a normal, full colon.
