The initial discussion (at least in game, no idea if it reached the forums) was about all stats.

Actually the solution is quite simple imo: after a certain amount, stats will not matter (same way as negative stats work). Eg (totally random number so don't take those as benchmarks) :you have 10k stats. You gain more. But once you hit 50k, everything above is discarded and you only use the 50k (although you can have 500k). And the extra points can be used for other stuff (remember Mur's idea about transforming stats to other stuff).

Just found one more: the "Secret Status". It's Polichinelle's secret! Yes, it can stay there for a while but not for...forever and ever...really...

History has a nasty habit of repeating itself. As well as mistakes. In my experience with MD, people don't really learn from other's mistakes but from their own. If they hit the wall themselves, they will know. If somebody else hits the wall that somebody will be: laughed at/pitied/etc/etc and soon the reason as to WHY the wall was hit it will forgotten. They will however remember the wall and start whining :D

I would say that currently space is just the set-up and more and more writers use it as a scene for exploring other things. Few weeks ago I finish a book where one of the many narrative threads talked about an universe where you could turn back time as many times as you wanted and fix your mistakes. It was a hard to reach universe so outside people were trying to get to it. The truth about that place, when it was finally revealed, took me by surprise. It was simple and elegant. Not fancy shamncy theories. Simple. Easy to understand. A real beauty imo. So no, I believe space is not something that awesome anymore (well, it is) but we can find a lot more easier to get to and new, exciting things closer to us and more "grab-able" than the vast void. Like the human mind :D. Which sometimes I think is as vast as the void :D. Not to mention having more black holes :D.

No no no no. You're very wrong! I am a huge fan of Sci FI (probably 90% of my readings are Sci Fi novels) and I can assure you that Sci Fi is defo not dead. On contrary, it's flourishing. And with the current development the ideas they come up with are truly amazing. And there are tons of awesome contemporary Sci Fi literature. My reading list grows every week by at least 1 book.

Yes, you're right but I don't see that many quests worthy of a medal.How about you get points for each quest you do/win and once you have a certain number you win a medal (puzzle since we're talking about quests).

Make a really good quest, draw a medal and then go to council.
