1. We can actually exorcise the ghost? I didn't even know that xD
2. Okay, so far most of the votes is no. Indeed, 4 WP is not easy to get.. =\ I guess I might make harder quests instead.
i think 4wp is quite high, and that increasing strength to compensate is a bad idea, it'll mean that the players who've been around a while (and therefore have 4wps) will kill other people too easy if you've increased the strength of it
The creature is actually designed to be "stronger" when the enemy is strong, and weaker when facing weaker enemies. Just like how an elemental/water daimon is very strong against high VE enemies and weak otherwise. It's true though, that the problem is on setting the limit of the strength. Life steal has a 20% cap now (used to be 20 something IIRC), the strength adjustment I'm referring to is mostly similar to setting this % cap.
I thought selling WP was illegal? Imo a 4 WP creature is only cool if it looks hot but is totally useless. It's like saying "I blew 4 WP on this but that's because I am awesome enough to afford it." If it is really useful, more people will buy it, making it less unique (imo wishes are supposed to be unique, although automation somewhat ruins that idea) and also unbalancing (not that i battle a lot). Plus it would force MB to gather enough WP to buy it, lest he fails to prove his awesomeness. A just reward for all that PL spam
Selling WP is indeed illegal. A while ago RJ had a quest to trade 2 drachs for a WP to help reduce the overpopulation of drachs. Although, I think if there was a drach in the WP shop for 1 or 2 WP, many will want to buy it. I dunno about uniqueness, it is a paradox that the more unique something is, more people will want it and make it less unique..
I dislike this idea. We do not need "stronger" creatures. But creatures with varieties in their attack/defend/powers. Right now, there are four creatures seen in every ritual. Drachorns, Chaos Archers, and Grasans. The rest are not strong enough to fight with.
You only mentioned 3 creatures =D And you're right, most of the rest are not strong enough to fight with. That's why the new creatures need to be strong enough, so it doesn't end up just being another collector's item gathering dust. And yes, it will have new varieties in abilities.
And there is the other issue:if the stakes are high enough WPs might be trade/sold/etc. I don't want to see that.
Yeah, that's one problem we all don't want to see.. =\ If implementing a 4 WP creature will lead to such problem, I'd rather not do it. Although, I was hoping that it will not be such a great incentive as to actually lead to a WP trading problem.
I've had two WP with about 450 days x3 Oh right, as for on-topicness: I think 4 WP may be a bit much, but then again, you never know what'll happen in the future. Wishpoints could become common currency, and this creature could become common with pretty much everyone, just like the drach is now.
Yes, the original decision was to make it only a 1 WP creature, since the idea was conceived during the times when WP was very scarce. The idea of 4 Wp was put aside until the festival aftermath, when there was some WP inflation with RPCs giving WPs for adepts and the like. Now WP distribution is more controlled with the automated system (limiting the amount of WP that can be given) and less controlled with everyone able to give a WP, thus the need to ask for all your opinions =) So far, the majority vote is a no. I'll add in a few more details that answers to some of the concern and see if there's a change in your opinions. If the public opinions doesn't change, we'll scrap the 4 WP idea. - The creature will be untradable. (or at least, that's the plan. No CTC for the craeture) - 1 WP is required to recruit the creature, and 3 WP to upgrade it to the max. Subsequent creatures only need 1 WP to recruit, but upgrading it no longer takes a WP. The 3 Wp is just to unlock the upgrading option and is shared across all creatures of that player. - A large fraction of the creature's strength is based on the enemy's strength (%based just like lifesteal), and strength adjustments will mostly affect the %cap (although there are some non-% abilities as well).
3. Before moving on to the next step on a creature (you know what it is), I would like to ask the community's opinion, just to be sure =) What do you think of a 4 WP (cost) creature, disregarding whether it is strong enough or not to be worth 4 WP (strength can always be adjusted later). The underlying question is whether a creature with such requirements will be considered another long-term goal that can be aimed for (a good thing), or just simple lunacy/idiotic idea (bad thing). For consideration, we already have a creature that costs somewhere near 4 WP, the wind dragon. Obtaining one requires the sacrifice of a GG drachorn, which some people will gladly trade one or two WP for one egg, plus doing some quests that could be viewed as a 1 WP quest. So we already have a creature theoretically near that cost, but in reality getting winds doesn't involve any WP at all. What would you think of a creature that does cost 4 WP to obtain and max?
4. Hmm, so... people farmed losses to exploit the honor bonus. Yet, skill damage is annoying and keeps people logged of. So, why not just make that at the loss cap (1k loss more than wins), you gain nothing from battles (XP, wins for creatures) just as if you're at max XP or at too much negative honor? This way we won't need skill damage and people won't be able to exploit the honor bonus as well (I'm dooming myself with this suggestion =\, btw ). Firs has a very good point there. Nowadays, training non-tokened creatures from scratch is almost impossible without help from another player. Back then you would be able to train them yourself by finding targets that you could somehow manage to defeat without full-army. Nowadays its almost impossible.
I'm just gonna put my totally selfish opinion out there: I've got over 400 active days, but lots and lots of people can beat me...I like fighting and slowly getting stronger, rather than just farming creatures for huge stats (mostly impatience x3)...if it's based on time in MP5, it'll just leave me behind, and I don't necessarily want that :/
And I'm over 500 days and weaker than Pip. So it makes two people, and I'm sure there are more "vets" wwho doesn't stat grind everyday (I think chewy is also aroudn the same strength as I do, and a lot older). If time basis comes out, it's forever bye2 combat for us =(

7. Well... If vets get something to do again (winning mp5 heads), it might actually take away their time playing their mp3 alts, thus giving real mp3 newbies a chance, no?
8. Shh! Don't say the name!
9.
I think its the executive syndrome too, i feel like grabing him through the monitor and strangle him. if i wanish one day you will know why, i am on my way to greece by internet cable to strangle that guy. I will research more about dyslexia, thanks guys. I will also research more about brain damage, i think i might get it soon.
This and your forum status finally made it all clear. Mur is actually an advanced computer AI that is using MD to gather data in preparation of world conquest! He can travel through internet cables and emails!*cough* And, in a more serious manner, a common eye illness (call cyllindric or something here at my place, can easily be countered with special eye glasses) can also make people hard to distinguish between lines, and might also affect people when reading a lot of text line especially those with small fonts.
10. As title says, I'm selling an aged angien (no token), with 6 month-is age (it is bought within 1-3 days of the opening of the shrine). Please send your offers via PM. I will update the highest offer here periodically.
11. I think he means loss>wins as in my idea, because there people with loss>wins gives positive honor to those more balanced =)
12. @burns: I am not relating the new idea to the concept of strength, I was just pointing out that the old concept of strength is no longer relevant with the current situation in MD (some of the strongest people has way more loss than balance). My idea is to make being balanced be something that is honored, and thus those balanced will gain honor from attacking those less balanced. Not because of strength, but because they do something honorable: being balanced. @redd: 3k is rather extreme, even with the current situation, having 3k difference is already going to be giving a hard time. IIRC, there is also a kind of negative honor cap right now (5k-ish?), so it won't go as far as 100k negative honor. There is also a max loss more than wins caps right now (around 1k or 1,1k). @grido: true, but it's already happening to those unbalanced with wins>losses. The difference is that now having loss>wins also yields the same results. Although, it is true that gaining wins is harder than gaining losses, and it will be harder for someone who has too many losses to get rebalanced. That said, you've all shown that idea does still have a lot of potential loopholes and flaws, and will need a lot of improvements. THank you all for your inputs and comments.
13. So while thinking about all the balance and honor problem, this idea popped into my mind. Right now, the number one problem to being balanced is honor problems, because there are a lot of loss>wins unbalanced people who give negative honor. The idea behind the current honor system is that if you have more wins than losses, than you are viewed as "strong" at that time, and defeating you grants more honor. But honestly, we know that right now wins-loss balance is almost not connected to strength at all in MD. So, why not make honor gains be based on how balanced someone is? If someone more balanced attacks someone unbalanced, they gain positive honor. Vice versa, is someone unbalanced attacks someone balanced, they gain negative honor. This will encourage people to stay close to balance. A person's balance is calculated by the absolute amount of win-loss difference they have Example: player A : 200 wins, 100 losses --> 100 absolute difference player B : 100 wins, 90 losses --> 10 absolute difference player C : 0 wins, 90 losses --> 90 absolute difference. If player A attacks player B or player C, it will gain negative honor. If player B attack player A or player C, it will gain positive honor. If player C attacks player A, it will gain positive honor. If PLayer C attacks player B, it will gain negative honor. The amount of honor gained/lost follows the existing formula, but instead of counting how many more wins than losses alone, now it count the absolute difference between those two. Of course, some adjustments should be made. For example, those with more losses should gain less negative honor than those with more wins, because getting balanced when you are severely unbalanced is harder for loss>wins people (who need to farm wins) than for wins>loss people (who can just sit there farming losses). If it gets implemented, a global balance reset will also be needed to prevent excessive chaos. But nevertheless, I think the system can help encourage more people to be balanced. Please share your opinions =)
14. Did you have very large negative honor? It does the same thing as being at max xp.

Question please. For backseating mods, does it include requesting a mod to close a topic that has gone way offtopic? edit: thanks for the confirmation =)
16. Congrats! =D Come back soon, and don't forget to bring the little guy/girl to play here when s/he gets older =D
17. Well, couldn't agree more.. Those things are what made me stay in MD in the first place. The inner magic part is what made me join the realm in the first place, and the ancient lores and AL is the mystery that had me stay and research for a long time. Now their importance seems greatly diminished (ancient lore got as far as banned, even), and MD feels a lot different than it used to be back then. If I were a new player, I might be discouraged from playing MD if I joined seeing the very interesting principle systems and the great stories, only to find that they are almost non-existant in practice nowadays..
18. kriskah, can you send me a PM in-game regarding this? Your forum account has full inbox xD
19. Probably due to the new idle system, I now get a Duplicate entry '(my id)-(target id)-repeatedattack' for key 1 whenever I attack idlers (Edit: non-idlers too) for the second time.
20. Sorry to hear what happened =( I hope to see you again soon luvva (and I still have your YIM anyways =D ). PS: why is people voting Z's posts negative?
21. It does.. but since it's not fully implemented yet.. Some kings are taking the initiative.
22. Laters ammy. C ya again soon =)
23. Yes, but will it count the highest five before the values added from the sacrifice, or after? Will it reset the principles as soon as the sacrifice button is pushed, or reset the principles once the new values from that particular sacrifice is calculated?
