No, that issue started recently before the update and we have been dealing with those members with bans. But since they have been reported and removed quickly you probably missed them. However now i can disable it, and i have. Thanks for your report

I was under the impression it was indeed closed both ways, if not up until the change, for a very long period of time.

Firs removed his wishpoint, i can confirm initially there were 3 Wishpoints and Firs was sponsering it along with Yrth
-
CM is offical leader of KoB now also
I find this "quest" even worse than BFH's "Pick your favourite land", or really ANY OTHER writing quest. Did Firs and Yrth know that THIS was what their WPs were sponsoring? I certainly hope not.
i agree entirely with your point... I guess there is a first for everything. Are there any other criteria? it looks very open ended and could easily turn into just giving friends wishpoints... Then again, its happened before with WP reasons being "quest"

who are the judges? will the posts be posted on the forum?

the skin has been edited a bit by me, nothing visible, but to change a couple things. However if anything doesnt work, it might possibly be me, so please post it up assuming you have checked the above points first.

Festival of War and Remembrance 29th of June to 4th of July
Chewett replied to Metal Bunny's topic in General Forum
This is the reply i have waited every waking minute for? lol As for granos, he is always an intresting one, as you said, "you sorta know what he did sorta" is very much like Curi, BFH and so many others you have removed. It is hard to quantify what they did, since its not exatly definitive. Granos may have/had his hand in a good deal many pies, But we dont actually see him doing things, which he likes, And we can never really go "this war was actually started by granos" Because in the end we are only really going to know if he says so, which he wont. And you didnt comment on Fenrir being excluded immediately. As for Eden and Eon. I disagree with what you have said. Eden, has been overhyped like many of the "oldies". He gained powers similar to what others had in the day, Eon on the other hand has been granted Complete control over all BHC, he can run it how he likes, charge what he likes, and his role is totally unique, no one has ever done it before. Compared with eden who was, not to be too offensive to EX RPC's, just a rpc, someone who Mur decided had a decent enough role, and was given power. Eon is a good fighter, one of the the best we have ever seen. Combat gets harder each time new features and effects are added. It shows that in the "old" days the strongest rits were a load of grasans, or one grasan. And it wasnt too hard to relise why. Nowadays we have so many effects and tokens there are actually ways to beat certain rits. Before it was more just a matter of whose attack was better. Combat is getting harder, and the people to become the "best" are getting smarter. Its what i like about MD. Grinding is mattering less, as you have some magical creatures and effects. It still does matter, But i can attempt to kill people stronger than me, with some luck (freezes) and some cool effects (magic and such) -
less serious, to me its more just for fun than the real BHC where people put in real effort. Vets have been asking for years to be able to particpate in Heads again, this is their chance now and every time one is held.

The forum will be upgraded to a new greater version. This is a big change and therefore may cause some problems, bugs or issues. During an upgrade, it will give lots of errors, and possibly not be avalible during the upgrade. If the forum is down for longer than an hour, please email me at [council] by replacing contact with Chewett. The time-frame for the upgrade is unknown since there are a lot of requests for this new upgrade. I shall post any updates regarding this here.

In my opinion, it seems like a lot of work, to implment functionality which frankly would be pretty pointless. As in many other games, some people have short names that you will soon quickly learn, if you dont want to use them then you dont have to. Something merely to help you type things a little faster makes it become a little more "chat" like, instead of more slower paced roleplay. Not to mention the numerous other fixes and features that are important
Hmm well as you say the items from the past belonged to those players.Ok yes they may not be on-line any more or are on rare.So why not give the crafter and my self clearance to make batch itemsand let us give them out randomly? This we can do and may solve the current delema you are facing.Put in the item creation panel a flag system so we can set it sothe new items if not role specific it can be transferred to an item shopif flagged as owner/role then it wont get moved.Could also have the items marked as land items (meaning made from that landnot land specific item) that way you can make item shops for each land thatcould have those items returned to them. for the crafter they could mark and item they create as LR/MB/necro/Golemusdepending on the player that requests it. This can also create another land resource based on items.
Trusting people not to monopolize items is... intresting. You already see the "store" of Memory stones where only two people can harvest them, Giving the crafters the power to effectively make whatever they want? hell no. Generic items like land things should surely go back to the king or similar. An item such as "MB Tablecloth" cannot really be associated specifically to a player, its just a general item. Wheras "Wookie Slippers" are a rather specific item. Its just like the horrific "avatar stealing" Taking items that people have worked for and paid for, To them randomly give them out because the person hasnt played for a year or so. For someone like me who hold items which only are of memorable values, and my avatar that no one else has ever worn, Makes me rather angry to think that becuase iv left for a longer period, to think these items will just be passed out to someone walking by or shoved into the shop where anyone else can have.
-
Yeah, when creating new items if it has specific flags saying if it is a specific, or general item. therefore determining if it is "viable" for trading back. Just leave all items that are currently lost with their owners, They didnt know items might dissapear, so it seems unfair to take them. You wouldnt consider taking Jonn's Avatar and its a similar principle.

Yes, But the point i was making was that, as soon as you step into a high viscosity area, you know if you are going the right way of not, then you just have to make the way back to the low viscosity path. If it were as simple as you say its not, then i would be totally against it.
2. think smart, consider your questing strategy - and devise a way to get scoring position with minimal actual effort. Of course it works the best if you can follow quest progress and your adversaries. A few strategies include strategic timeframe of posting (first/last moment/ carpet bombing), criticizing other entries, attempts to influence rules to fit better. May not be the most effective but may offer quite a lot of fun if you are in a right mood, I guess,
You tell them to work hard in the first, then directly contradict it in the second by telling them to win with the minimal effort in the second? Then, even worse, you specifically suggest methods that are close enough to cheating, that will earn no friends. Just because you feel its a good way to work, does not mean you should be encouraging such methods. I cant believe you aim this as newbies, yet suggest methods such as "criticizing other entries, attempts to influence rules to fit better". And yes, before you all start to neg rep me, I am earning no friends at all with this post, But i feel that such a guide aimed at newbies, with such content, paints MD is a very bad light indeed. People suggesting you should act dishonourably to win... Not in the MD spirit at all.

the path throught the lab is a spoiler. so to confirm you wont be leaving the path to follow in chat? if not then i would love to come and join in. in regards to your first point it will merely partially spoiler it. they will more than likely follow the trail of viscosity and will still get stuck if they take a wrong turn because your plan will only lower the main route

Ceremonial Heat Letting for our Dead
Chewett replied to Chewett's topic in The Seekers of Enlightenment
I held two ceremonies during the day, With each ceremony differing slightly. The first, was a more general heat letting, where its was merely released and then we held a discussion afterwards. The second heat letting was where we stored the heat into an item, more specifically a book. Here is the log of the second ceremony: We took an hour and a half to gather 480k of heat which afterwards then our friends were resurrected. We still know little of what happened to them but it doesn't matter for they are alive and well. Starting at 0, slowly working out way up to filling it took a lot of work from some people. By the end of the one and a half hours many participents were running around franticly gaining heat. Without their help, we wouldnt have managed to fill up the book, and save our friends. Ceremony 1 Participants: Ceremony 2 Participants: Here is a two images showing the participants at a point int he ceremony. So many people turning up for something to try and save our friends is amazing, and just shows the large amount of people who wanted to save our friends. Full log, very long: Ceremony 1 starts: [24/07/11 15:04] Phantasm Speaking: [24/07/11 15:32] Fyrd Speaking: [24/07/11 15:38] Discussion/Argument: [24/07/11 15:42] Ceremony 2 starts: [24/07/11 22:00] Started moving the heat book around: [24/07/11 22:16] Filled up the Orb finally: [24/07/11 23:49] Use these timestamps to search through the large log. (Ctrl-F will normally bring up find dialog) Finally I want to thank everyone that turned up and let out heat again. It was our joint effort that managed to save them, And for that you all have my gratitude. -
Active days to Actionpoints bonus values
Chewett replied to Muratus del Mur's topic in Work in progress
True - but in most cases you do not go across all GG and back. Viscosity could control access to locations and their clusters (2-3 locations off the beaten path were already unpleasant). With the age bonus ppl 6M+ feel viscosity only in GG Labirynth trip (using GoE is already manageable) - and of course Tribunal. On the other hand viscosity didn't change that much about Tribunal access... Therefore I feel AP bonus is a bit too high - in almost all practical application you can now ignore viscosity.
The average person has gained around 100 more Action points, giving them a total of 200 points. traversing 5 locations with 40 viscosity with a base number of 1 uses all of those points. After that, you wait, You cant get anywhere "faster" due to the same regeneration rates. Its more helpful for older players, But in the long run, moving around for longer periods dont help. -
Active days to Actionpoints bonus values
Chewett replied to Muratus del Mur's topic in Work in progress
I agree... I would suggest cutting bonuses by half - I like viscosity feature and the new AP bonus overcompensates/ almost nullify it in its present parameterization (well, not for GG and Tribunal). Otherwise - I like it
As Maebius pointed out, when you have used it up, it doesnt help at all. -
