  1. Buildable creatures are creatures that are not recruitable by normal means, but must be put together by combining resources instead. The Molima is a resource-intensive buildable creature whose combiner can be found around the Archives. The Shmsh is an easier to build buildable creature whose combiner can be found near some other more common creatures who can be recruited normally.
  2. Level 2 Grasans, if given certain names specific to each output, will consume 1 wiiya per day and excrete one per day of various resources (fat, skin, solid stench, toxic gas, grasan ferment) A Molima, if left with its default name, will consume as many bones as ten times its level (10 for level 1, 40 for level 4, etc) per day and produce one death spore per day An Elucubration will consume one candy per day and produce one coloured paper per day (I don't think their name matters in this case, though I'm not sure if they're even nameable either)
  3. Having more active heat when you fight will multiply your combat rewards up to 3x (both stat rewards and heat scars). As a rule of thumb you'll gain a greater variety of stat rewards by earning more heat scars in a single fight.
  4. There are two types of skilldamage. One is when you have around 1000 more losses than wins (as per this announcement). The other type is given as a stat of its own similar to attack or briskness, as you can see on the profile of players who are in possession of this stat such as Yoshi. If you lose a fight under either circumstance (lose a fight while hugely unbalanced on the losses side, or lose a fight to someone who has skilldamage stat) you will lose the same amount of stats that the other fighter won by fighting you.
  5. The limiting factor for most new players in recruiting those Grasans is Worldly Inertia (sometimes referred to as value points). New accounts usually start with around 1000 maximum WI and can increase that maximum through various means. However it is possible to gather WI higher than your maximum, the easiest way to do so is by fighting someone, though there are other ways too. You can see how much WI you gained from a particular fight in the "results" tab of a fight log. Watch out though, if your timer (top-left of the interface) ticks over while your WI is higher than its maximum it will be lowered back to the maximum, so be sure to plan accordingly.
  6. Spell documents can be given by specific players who have the ability to reward that particular level of that document. Some spell documents have more or fewer levels, and each level contains a small portion of the whole spell. Spell documents are related to the inner magic side and are not as easily "castable" in the same way that outer magic spells are. If you want more information on outer magic, the spells you can cast in MD chat, see here.
  7. To achieve an achievement you first have to find it on a clickable item somewhere in the realm and "unlock" or "activate" it for your character. Once you've done so you can check whether you meet the requirements to achieve your desired achievement at any time by clicking the book in the bottom left of the interface and clicking "check" under the achievement in question.
  8. Tokens are applied to a random creature when you buy/apply them. When a token is applied to a creature, you'll be able to find information on what that tokens does on that particular creature's page. A slightly more sneaky way to find token information is to fight someone else who's got a tokened creature in their ritual and read the "tokens" tab of the fight log. If you want a specific token on a specific creature, there are a couple ways to go about it. You could always ask around and see if any other players have that creature with that token. Alternatively, you could get that specific creature with more tokens than the one you want, and use Token Removal Gel to remove the tokens you don't want.
  9. It took some convincing, but our judges (me) finally got off their lazy rear ends and produced a judgement. First place goes to Nepgear for exquisite marching and nailing the high notes - 20 Second place goes to Ungod for creative maneuvers with expressive movements - 18 Third place goes to Tamu for carrying the bass end of our songs - 13 Fourth place goes to Fang Archbane for highly energetic dance moves - 9 Thank you all for marching with us! Thank you too, our audience, for watching!
  10. I had a similar or same issue on a fresh alt on Gateway, no screenshot or anything though.
  11. I was training some Daimons today and wondering as I did "Aren't these creatures kind of a water counterpart to fire Elementals?" and therefore, shouldn't they share a species? Especially considering the new shards system! It would be nice, I think, to see more crossover of creature species, rather than just one species per creature as many seem to be. So I thought it might be worth a discussion, or at least a question.
  12. I remember Khalazdad, a legendary storyteller and a fascinating character who drew myself and many others to him like a magnet, sitting in front of the Howling Gates. I like to think his memory smiles every time a story is told somewhere in MD. I remember AqlBeast, my first protector and a Seeker of Enlightenment. Someone who taught me a lot about this game, I like to think every time somebody around MD asks for help, Aql's memory is there to answer. I remember MRR who, most important of all, taught me how to do the silence spell! MRR, and MRP as well, also taught me many combat tips and tricks, and I like to think every time somebody reads and learns from their fight logs the memory of the MRs fraternity (not the alliance, exactly) is happy. I remember many many others who have come and gone, and of course those who have stayed too. I like to think every time someone makes a new friend in MD, our memories rejoice together.
  13. Ranged inhibitor shard ability doesn't seem to affect archers of any sort. Opponent ritual had multiple ranged creatures. Shard log: "Other" log export:
  14. Definitely agreed, it seems to me that most TV is a way to "program" certain social behaviours by simulating those social interactions on the screen and in your mind as you watch This is an interesting perspective and one I never considered until you posted it earlier, thanks for sharing In this situation I still tend to stay stubborn so far, and yeah in some ways my life is a mess, but in others it seems to me more rich and deep than the lives of some people around me. Could always be an illusion my mind is creating for me, though!
  15. My oldest forum PM is to Mur, it's my application to run for king of Marind Bell, back when rulers were first being introduced (unless there were some secret earlier land rulers) eleven and a half years ago (2009) Results are here and a small excerpt from my message here:
  16. I hope I won't ignite a burning controversy in saying this, but personally I oppose copyrights as they exist today, or at least my understanding of them. Of course I think an artist should give due credit if they're consciously "borrowing" ideas (or even and especially if they did it subconsciously and only realize it later), but I don't think any human, much less a corporation, has the right to own an idea as that's not how ideas work in my view. Just as you explained about your acquaintance, when you hear an idea and you agree with it internally, it becomes/can become constituted as a part of your mindset. So in my ideal world, any copyright law should take that into account, which I don't think the current system does.
  17. I've seen this issue affecting other accounts as well, iirc, and can confirm from my perspective Fyrd is shown as Idle currently despite that he's in chat chatting with me.
  18. Can you give your definition of moonshining as you used it here? I'm not familiar with the term other than to refer to alcohol.
  19. markskillmodify|marks=random enemy or friendly frozen creature;block=100% for one turn;target_skills=affected by freeze aura;mode=subtract Not sure if this is possible with the way that marks seem to work logic-wise, but it could be interesting to be able to thaw a frozen creature for one round. Or perhaps this would better fit a different template other than inhibit.
  20. (Mur: GOOD) markskillmodify|marks=plants (toxicodendrite and moss);block=50%;target_skills=power I'm not fully sure whether this could work as reducing power stat doesn't seem to affect consume ability's effectiveness, but I think it'd be interesting if it worked
  21. Since Brilliant Diamonds have never (to my knowledge) been given an agreed upon value but are still categorized as a valuable item, maybe one could pay a Diamond for a heat reset, perhaps also barred by the need to charge a clickable with personal heat first. ie. Gather 50k or so heat from your erolin to charge the clickie, then it asks you for one Diamond once it's charged. This method could make it easy for avid traders to reduce their heat, which at least covers a different category of players from the combat grinders who can already drop heat other ways.
  22. A big part of the issue seems to be the profit motive as you've both mentioned, which can causally be traced back to the corporate structure underlying the creation of most big budget movies. As I understand it CEOs have fiduciary duty (the legal duty of a fiduciary to act in the best interests of the beneficiary) to the company they work for, and can in some cases be held personally liable if they fail that duty. Thus their personal greed or protection of their own assets is used like a compass to point the corporation in the most profitable direction. On the topic of decent original American movies, I recently watched Magnolia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnolia_(film)) for the second time, and I think it's particularly fitting for our discussion here as it has themes of the personal and inner workings behind the film industry in Hollywood, though more on the dramatic emotional side than what we discuss here. It's a long one though.
  23. Personally I only watch movies or TV series if someone I know and trust their taste has a personal passion for it, and even then sometimes I'll pass on it if I'm not in the mood or something. I was lucky to see a lot of independent theatre at a young age, so got tired of pop culture rather quickly by comparison. By that same token I can usually find a nugget of an interesting idea in most things, even if it's just shallow churned out hollywood nonsense.
  24. This we can agree on, it all seems to be sequels, remakes, and spinoffs nowadays. Very little original content coming from the traditional media power centres. On the topic as a whole, I tend to think this is just the way artistic ideas and influences work. Nobody is just creating in a void. If due credit is given (often it's not, I understand) I don't necessarily see the harm. Which country will make American movies, but better?
  25. An update, with firmed rewards. First: Anniv and Snowball Second and Third: Anniv and Nutcracker
