  1. i was just throwing in that even in an RP game, there are some casual gamers with 1-2 hours per week as well as a few pros like us with 3 or more online hours per day, and imo, there should be a reasonable chance to win a HC for the dedicated casual gamer, too, and not only for the pros who spend hours in chats and ask people from all over the world to help them... you know, it shouldn't be easy, it's a contest after all, but a fighter should get a chance as well as a diplomat gets his chance, and if the fighter is strong enough and has some good rituals at hand, he shouldn't be afraid of some weaklings interferring 'his' HC throu using a bunch of bugs and heads that are originally from another MP level and 'unreachable'... i'd copy in a link to our 'new HC' topic, but i'm too lazy to search it right now...
  2. lifeline, read a novel of Thomas Bernhard ['Der Atem' oder 'Der Keller' are the best of him imo] and you'll get used to Lib's style of writing ;-) i guess Loukas is right when saying that HC is most fun for the elite players, but that is not unfair in itself, as any player can win a contest if he spends some time on strategy, you can take all the time you need to rise your stats... and if it takes you 300 days, then it just takes you that long, that's no problem for HC but it is kind of unfair that players who spend a year or more on training for a HC have totally no chance because they are casual gamers and don't make enough / the right connections, THAT is unfair... everyone can become an elite mp3 with less than an hour per week within a few months, but you can't win a HC through being elite :nea:
  3. after reading your comment three times, loukas, i'm afraid that there are many ways to cheat which are not counted as cheating by everybody... for example, hiding on paper cabin roof and having another player messing the GoE all the time is cheating imo, even though it's just using normal game mechanics in a totally normal way... then there's 40 min ally-cooldown, which is nothing but another form of cheating in my eyes, ally and land stat-boosts, 'predicting counts' [thou know what i'm talking about], jumping to leader (who is sitting at wasp's chamber by mere chance, obviously] after leaving through LR hidden exit, and i could carry on with that list for ages... i'm not being jealous of any player at all, not of rusties, not of credits, not of medals, nothing of that sort, i'm doing my thing here and having fun, and if others have fun in another way, well, their choice, but i will go to any lenghts to fight for a 'fair' HC for all players, and Aia is just a perfect victim for all the ranting that needs to be done, as she definitely understands that i like her nonetheless (i even stopped from attacking her, for hell's sake, just because she asked...) PS: i like your way of talking, Tarquinus, but it's hard to read at some points :/ [please keep your style, but please don't be angry with me if i miss some of your points from time to time^^] oh, and don't think that you can shut me up by telling me that you are thinking i might be 'better than that' or 'should know better than to say such things', i like compliments of other good players, but they are not exactly my drug... in fact, i don't really care what you are thinking of me, as long as i know that i did achieve the ends i was aiming for^^
  4. or with RPCs help, or with 'usage of game meachnics'... seriously, it has been done by almost every winner, i'm no exception to that, but two wins based on unfair means is just... well, it creates a feeling that's a bit weird at the very least -.- and if HC was about intelligence and strenght, we would have had very different outcomes in the last few months, it's ALL about politics since roughly dec-jan contest... there was kind of a passage since sep-oct-contest, when the MRs did a great performance as group :/ up to then, good fighters had a fair chance, but nowadays... no real chance without the right connections, or really reckless bug-using too bad that we are going that far for that medal these days...

    Game reset?

time is never wasted when you had fun spending it, and if it was no fun for you, then your time was wasted no matter if there's going to be a reset or not... i know, that's a bit too philosophical for me, sounds more like Khalazdad :/ but i think it's true and well said, even though i forgot where i heard it

    Game reset?

so you are saying that fighting will get a deeper RP-meaning? YAY^^ that means: a) no need to quit for me, fighting is exactly what i do as break when working for college, and people will stop saying that my RPing is poor XD b ) no need for a reset, as even people like cless and dst can easily be defeated if you know what you are doing and c) land wars are great, i want to stick around to get more of those =D
  7. what is 'mur': according to some philosophies, mur is everything, others say Mur is nothing, even others claim that there is a whole bunch of beings who have murry powers... imo, 'Mur' is god, and i'm afraid that even though i know what a god is, i can't explain it properly... maybe that's the best definition for a Mur: a thing of which you know that it's there, but which you can impossibly describe to another person... yes, that is a Mur =D

    Game reset?

I'm afraid that i might actually lose interest in the game if there was a major change towards RPing... atm, fighting pays, and it is something to do while there's only little roleplaying going on :/ i'm not afraid of a reset, i don't mind starting from 0 again, but i am afraid that the fun will be lost for me if fighting loses importance... and the last few changes were pointing towards that direction, with illusion being created and mp6 as only spell-casting level... there are just to little quests around to keep me busy all day long while i'm waiting for nightfall and some people to play with, so if stat-grinding and creature-rising falls out of the game, i'm afraid that i will be done with this community
  9. obviously you would want to put the creatures you want to be healed in a healing rit, but tell your partner if you want to use damaging creatures... most partners won't heal with you if you use damagers, but some can handle them, so always tell them what you are planning to use (except for healers) ;-)
  10. it's easy, ilewop: a creature that attacks with damage or weaken def needs an attack stat a creature that uses magic tricks like steal life or heal will need a power stat and a creature that uses regen will need a regen stat normally, powers working for steal life are rather slim as that ability works on a percent-base, that means a stealer with power 5 will steal 5% of the enemies vitality, between 2 and 8 power is common, the toughest single-stealer has 16, if i remember correctly... powers for healing go from 30 to 100 as far as i know, and they are working on a number-base, so a healer with power 50 won't heal 50% of the targets vit, but heal it with 50 vit-points that much to power values influence simply means the stats you pump into your creatures through pray-power, those stats add up on the basic stats of the creature^^ and you need a regen-stat for the first two level, too... that's working on a %-base, too, so i guess between 5 and 15 would suit the first two level quite good^^ and for the infliction-ability, as long as you don't know how it should be working it's pointless to create stats for it, but if you want to stick with my idea, a power of 5-10 for the last level would sound fair... that'd mean a DoT-increase of 8-15 per turn when uninfluenced... oh, i just noticed that i forgot how my poison gets calculated: attack-stat * power-stat (limited to 20)/100= Poison damage, with poison stacking up and limited to 100 at max
  11. i'll miss having tiger saliva on my hat...^^ i'm sure you will do fine, but nonetheless: good luck
  12. but having a variety of exactly zero ways to get one seems like a very slim chance to me... even for a decent creature like the drachorn ;-)
  13. i haven't ever claimed that lightsage has not done more than what i know for sure, but i trust him blindly when he says so... he wouldn't gain anything from lieing at that point, so why would he lie? plus, i said good source, not perfect source... although i really don't think he held things back, as i've said, he wouldn't have gained from lieing, and he's only thinking about personal gain, that's one thing i can tell for sure, i've known him long enough LOL and another plus, if they had been caught with their hands in the code they wouldn't have got the rewards for being first, but punishments, so i actually don't think they did things that can't be done with the normal gaming interface... EDIT: i admit that i might lack a natural sense of supisciousness because it hasn't proved itself to be good for me to be suspicious on everything and anyone, up to now i've always done well with believing what people tell me til i have any proof that they are not being true...
  14. don't you always give away good tactics on forums... i keep getting told off for doing so, and you straightout tell people that damaging yourself is the best one can do... i need a book of things one can say and things one can not say openly -.- anyways, B2T: i was thinking about a limitation of infliction-power to 20% [like for the steal life] to make people farm both power and attack... imo we also need a creature whose attacks base on luck or even trade sense so people stop farming only attack and def =D
  15. obviously you wouldn't want to damage yourself, so that can't be meant... don't be stupid V =P and ilewop has a habit of using spaces between totally different ideas instead of new lines, but still... one could understand that the creature can use both 'damage' and 'steal life'... what i miss most is a 'power' value on the creatures, as steal life needs power :/ and the infliction... sounds like a form of poison to me, so if you asked me, it should be depending on attack and power-stat and limited to 100 per turn (considering that it stacks up til end of battle, idk if there really is a script that stops after an amount of rounds...) like that: (example angel has 220 atk (155+some influence) and 20 power (XX plus influence), example defender has 20 def which doesn't help against infliction) 1. turn: angel attacks, deals 200 damage and inflicts the enemy with 20%, dealing 44 poison damage 2. turn: angel attacks, [inflict 20% persisting] deals 200 damage and inflicts the enemy with 20%, dealing 88 poison damage 3. turn: angel attacks, [inflict 20% persisting] deals 200 damage and inflicts the enemy with 20%, dealing 100 (not 132) poison damage obviously, that's just my idea to that matter... and i like that one, too
  16. i don't mind revealing what i know [and i know it from ls himself, so my source is quite good^^]: Light and V took all the heads they could get (quite a lot, as light took all 5 heads, V all 3 heads and almost every 4 head was taken by some mp4-ally member and then by light) heads to the next-to-unbeatable acc of V by jumping into an ally (most probably MRs, but might also be GG, he has nex in there) and then retiring again for safe-keeping. Once V had enough points, Light took the heads and held the bunch for some counts, and then the contest was done for those two^^ admittedly, not the first to do that, but V really was unbeatable, no matter how many heads he held, good critters make fights on mp3, not good stats, we all know that, and he had some VERY good creatures at hand... and obviously he only stayed in ally for mere seconds to grab the heads, and then retired, all done in a remote place where nobody could disturb them... [original idea might be really old, the first time i witnessed someone doing that trick that efficiently was during oct-nov contest last year with the MRs helping Liberty] all in all, exactly what people call 'usage of mechanics' when they cheat themselves and what they call 'heavy cheating' when they are not invited to the party XD
  17. i have to admit that I personally, being the evil and gleeful person i am, straightout LOVE how clock master cheated aia down to second place, that seems a bit fairer imo, at least she's not getting two wins, but only one win and a 2nd place *hehe* and, being the suspicious person i am, i wonder if aia will get a third shot at HC... oh, and again i'm not accusing anyone of real cheating... that's the same as 15k score and 15k head balls, it's using game mechanics, not cheating
  18. surveymonkey was up again at about 2:30 forum time, so i guess you could close it... or leave it open in case the site fails again, idk how such things are handled here
  19. such an high init is useless if the attack is not heavy enough, a creature can only attack once per turn no matter what its init is... and a major change to the combat system that would allow creatures to attack more than once would mean that high-init players would never lose again, there are people with 300 and more init...
  20. reviving the old topic: well then, now we have exactly that outcome we predicted: Unknown Entity, Clock Master, Priestess Aia and Kamate are about to get places in the HC again... and Aia is going to be 1st once more! want to tell me that's fair? NOOO way =( as much as Lighty and V have cheated in the last contest, that's not fair at all... and you can't tell me that 10k score comes without cheating and abusing... nope, you can't even try telling me that... not that i'm not glad that some really good players can win the contest a second time, but other really good players don't get more than one shot... PS: it's not about the rewards for me, it's the fun of HC... i would love to be amongst the best 3 just for the fun of it, without any rewards, but nooo... veterans may not participate... others may do it twice [with rewards...]
  21. surveymonkey is broken, RJ... we'll need to do it later, it happend to me after page 7^^
  22. i like it Lib, the last level is definitely not too strong, 210 haotic is not that much... IF that creature needs insane age requirements, like the knator does^^ plus, that thing is almost the same as the already existing knator when you stop to think about it... so i'd say your chances are rather slim :/
  23. actually, all those dots ARE the aramors^^ and they are not posing any threat atm, they are really dumb... even too dumb to attack XD all they do is walking around, and they bug your account when you attack them, so now those of us who went over to take a look at them are stuck on the island -.-
  24. unfortunately, i have not yet achieved to desired results with a tree -.- my experiments with regen were back then with a hollow warrior, i will raise a new one and see how it works atm
  25. well, you didn't wnat me the first time, so i guess i'm still not good enough for the quest =P but i'd try again, with a new application: I want to be part of the crew searching for the sword because of my knowledge of the ways of combat, of riddles and of nature itself. Still, i'm a quite good fighter nonetheless, and i admit that fighting is my primary concern in here =) Plus, i'm usually able to get people to a compromise when two parties are thinking along different lines, which might be a worthy ability, seeing teh many and different people you are already having on board
