1. Since we speak on the subject of Morphs, while I quite understand that unreleased creatures are not supposed to be given so carelessly - I am finding this sudden urge for elder players in the realm to hoard the morph creatures completely unreasonable.

Sure, there are more of them, their rarity has decreased, but many many players were granted gifts- if you have extras why not put them toward quests instead so that younger players are given a chance to get something unique and interesting too?

2. Quest will be extended until after new years. The week of the first is when judging will begin.

Each person who has entered thus far or will enter during the extended time will be granted an entry prize once the judging begins. I try to give everyone something for just trying the quest, even if it's a small something.

3. I'll be sending cards out too this year. I have some that I wasn't able to send last year, but I'll send them out this year! PM me on the forum if you need an address (so I can keep track of everyone!)

4. No, I didn't nominate anyone because I didn't nominate. I suggested people to be nominated by others because I don't agree with how the awards are being done this year, but I can fire off a list of people who deserve the award and play the game every single day:
-Lashtal
-Azull
-Jaden Dew
-Maebius
-Arkken
-Ivorak
-Phantom Orchid
-Marvolo
-Innocence
-Guillak
-Amber Rune
-Tarquinus
-Brulant
-Passant the Weak
-Kiley

You can suggest that I feel hurt that I have never been nominated, but I don't. I appreciate the nominations I am given, but to me it's a simple medal. What I care more about is that there is a huge amount of people who are never looked at or thought about, this year especially, in certain categories.

They play the game in their own unique way, and though they don't interact with tons of people on a daily basis, and try to do big massive things to get themselves recognized - they deserve at least to be nominated.

Whilst you might find it fair for people who have won not to win again, I find that hugely unfair, on everyone. If it were me, I'd be annoyed that someone had assumed I could not beat the person who won last year, and wasn't even given the chance to compete against them. That situation would be a farce.

It's an awards ceremony, Zleiphneir. You are being awarded based on how you have stood out or for things you have done in game. It was to my assumption that it was not a beauty contest or a cut-throat competition but rather a ceremony which grants recognition to players for good things they have done, how they have played the game, etc.

Correct me if I'm wrong, please, so I can go and host my own awards ceremony in a fair way.

You bring my name into something, use me as an example and state that I caused people to be 'overlooked' just by the fact that I exist and can be voted for. I don't know about anyone else, but if I were one of the people you are talking about being 'overlooked' I would find that incredibly insulting.

I did bring your name into question to point out that you have not only won an award each year, but that you have been nominated each year for the same thing.

There are plenty of good role players in the game and many of them are ignored for the more popular or more influential players such as yourself. My point is, if people are allowed to win year after year after year, we have a repetition of the same person getting recognized - thus limiting the view of the community regarding newer players who have new stuff to bring to the table.

I did not insult you or your roleplay, I stated instead that your nominations and rewards are repetitive. That was purely an example, and you chose to feel insulted by it.

6. Okay, in response to you Burns - what I'm noticing is that a total of maybe.. 4 people are speaking against in group nomination, where as we have many in this thread who are FOR in group nominating.

This is where my confusion sits. This year things are not quite as they were the previous year, many of the people who spoke out against in-group nomination last year have not even posted in this thread.

We have lost members of the community due to RL, and we have gained new ones that don't necessarily agree.

The argument that the MD Awards Ceremony is a popularity contest is correct, but banning or limiting who nominates what means that certain people who SHOULD get nominated, get ignored and overlooked. What should have happened is that people should not have been allowed to nominate people (who have won an award) twice for the same category.

(Nothing against Zleiphneir, but an example is that he has been nominated - and has won already almost every year for the role player award, and others have been overlooked. And also, Amoran has been nominated again for the best protector award. While I appreciate that people notice that I am doing a good job, it would be fair to give others a chance too, wouldn't it?)

You know the people of your land better than anyone, and unfortunately there is no way to stop the MD nominations from being a popularity contest. I just feel that you banned the wrong thing this year and this is why I chose to argue against the way the Award Nominations are being run.

7. Thank you Ivorak for your entry! I enjoyed the story and the artwork as well. It's a wonderful example of how you can illustrate a story even if you can't draw traditionally.

Be creative, and remember, you get something just for entering and showing your artsy side.

8. I believe I know what happened with this.. No one asked or argued the point of not being able to nominate people of your own land. It limits the nominations, and gives the person nominating only a certain range of people to nominate. So perhaps people just ran out of nominations? I believe the way this is set up is a complete farce, and honestly.. I don't like the way it's being run.

No one asked for the limitation, and people have argued it clearly, so why is it in place? Do you really need 20 people to say "this is stupid" before you decide that it's a stupid idea?

9. After the Grasan replacement contest ended, Amoran and a few others had not been given their wish point rewards. I first posted in the forum, and then waited two weeks. Then I chose to find the nearest TK to get the matter settled.

When I contacted Seigheart via PM and forum PM, he said that he did not wish to be bothered with "trivial requests". Amoran did however, receive her wish point after he explained that he did not want anyone messaging him about rewards.

All is well, however.. I do not feel that this is the way reward inquiries should be handled. After waiting 2 weeks for my wish point, I then had to wait a few days for him to respond- and once he did, I faced the attitude that my request was not important to him.

While I appreciate that he did respond, I was not aware at the time that we were supposed to mail such questions to the TK's email address.

**Please note that this is not a complaint, but rather a negative encounter with Seigheart regarding rewards. This is really my only encounter with Seigheart since he took the reins of the Treasure Keepers.

10. I will say, that instead of nominating, I will suggest people be looked into for nomination. Because I do not agree with one of the rules set up for this year's MD Awards.

The one fossil that has been overlooked for years, and I mean YEARS is Firsanthalas. He's older than dirt and performed as well as he was able as a king.

He's been in game since I was mp3, and he was mp5 then...and he's mp5 now.

For the suggestion of Rookie of the Year: I will say JadenDew. She has grown tall from the tiny sprout she was when Amoran first met her in game. I have high hopes for her, too.

Of the protectors we have currently, for the position of golden protector.. I would suggest any of the current protectors we have, aside from those who only went protector temporarily.

For the category of evil villain, I will suggest Eon, of course.. however there are others too, hidden in the crowd. I wonder if you can find them?

*Note: This post will be edited as my suggestions increase.

11. An mp6's stability is a shifting process. While on Monday you may have 40 adepts, and may consider your position to be stable, inactivity due to the daily life of your adepts or other reasons may cause the number to fall to 32 two days later.

30 is not a safe margin, if you fall just one below 30, your mp6 status goes away as well. If several people are trying to go mp6 for a day to upgrade creatures, at the same time taking 7 adepts or 5 adepts from each protector to keep them at a level of 30 could be more harmful than helpful.

Currently Amoran has a number of 35 adepts that is rapidly falling due to inactivity or other reasons. I do not consider this a safe and stable number because of the fact that it is falling quickly, however were it to stay stable during the period o 3 days, and were I to gain one or two afterward, I would consider Amoran's position to be stable.

Unfortunately, Amoran is not doing healing rounds at the moment due to Heads Contest (you can't cast spells during the heads contest), and activity in the realm in general tends to fall during each Heads Contest. I am uncertain of why, it has just always been that way.

In my opinion, trying to gain adepts through bribery and other "shady" means during a Heads Contest is highly disrespectful toward the protectors who are struggling to keep their positions so that they can actually use their spells to help people in the game.

I would highly like it if a reasonable solution was found to make this work, and while it's true that you do not need spells to help people- it is very nice to be able to heal people and give them attack and defense boosts to help them fight, especially if they struggle with fighting in general. Some of the protector spells cannot be purchased in the wish shop, and I think there is a good reason for that. (Spells such as 'curse' should never ever be used carelessly.)

But some.. like prot_attack and prot_def I find to be strange.. in that they are not in the wish shop. Perhaps they should be?

Aside from providing the spells in the shop to be earned via wishpoint, I think that if there were a set number of people who were available to help- or (though I don't like this suggestion, it is a suggestion) if there were one alt per person who was adepted to a protector dedicated to help people upgrade their creatures in a timely manner, that might help as well.

There is, as well, the more difficult suggestion of creating a different system for the mp6 who are dedicated to serving younger players, and giving the current mp6 system to people who want to upgrade their creatures. Though that may be unfair, as it would require coding and time that many of the game coders/creators do not have.

All in all this is a difficult situation, and your suggestion may work lashtal.. but there are also many unpredictable circumstances that could lead a protector to dropping as well.

For those who wish to know:

I look at mp6 as a sort of "job" that Amoran should do (like a responsibility). I've been in the game for a very long time, and I feel that my age and experiences in the game - as well as the character I play - can help others enjoy the game more. The new system is hard, and it feels very much like a chore to be able to be a good protector in the sense that I must work extra hard to keep adepts and worshipers, even if that means going through the game 4 times a day to heal people and sending out messages to adepts to see how they are progressing.

There is also an issue that may be raised, that Amoran is not accurately using her spells to protect people- given the comments during the needle testing with Eon. My response will always be the same in regards to that situation: If I can use the spells that I've earned through helping people, to help something in game or to make the game more interesting for others- I certainly don't mind doing it, so long as the person at the other end of the screen is enjoying himself or herself too.

12. I would prefer it to be set to MD's setting, but you may be creative and choose a different setting if you wish. Think of Khalazdad's old parables, they related to MD's terms but still had other creative influences.

Not to say that anyone is required to write like he did, but that is just an example of a story format.

13. I will be hosting my yearly artwork quest as part of the Feast of the Cycle. This year I am choosing to do it just a bit differently than I have in past years, as it will be related to a principal that the Children of the Eclipse value highly: Cyclicity.

1) Description:
Cycles move the realm. They turn the community in waves that continue crashing and returning, and crashing again. Everywhere you look, a cycle can be found. Kings come and go. Fellow players sleep and return awake. Leaders fall and rise. Rain falls in the realm, and then stops, and falls again. Alliances thrive in activity, then fall silent. These are the cycles that surround us as we move in the realm, and they are found everywhere.

I would like all participants who enter this contest to write a story about Cyclicity and then illustrate it.

***If you are not confident in your ability to draw or illustrate, team up with someone who is able to. If you have written a story, find someone who is able to illustrate it. If you have illustrated an artwork, and cannot do a story.. find someone who might be able to write something around the artwork you have presented
.***

The Principal of Cyclicity (description of the principal) can be found on the Magic Duel log in page.

But for those who do not want to take a moment to look on the front page, here it is:
Each event could either take part having a certain shape, having its own cycle, repeating itself after time, or could either be part of another superior event that has its own cycle. Events like daily routine, or the changing of the seasons, or the shifting of the planet Poles, or even the world itself are all cyclic events. Symbolic, all events occur on the shape of a circle, two opposites intertwining, just like a snake, biting its own tail. The cycles actually represent a Balance either between the consumption of energy and its (re)generation, either between different evolutionary steps. In the Principle Hierarchy, this Principle reigns over others, but is also inferior to some, making it very difficult to precisely reveal its importance. It exists in absolutely in every event that could have an opposite, for its role is that of creating and maintaining the Balance. Due to its repetitive nature, it can cover very long periods of time, or can even part from existence, due to the fact that the Principle can apply to that too, for even existence has an opposite, even if it is abstract and hard to understand. The Principle takes many shapes. For example, a simple thing like cutting a thing in equal halves, and then halving those, and so on to infinity, even if it doesn't look like it, applies to this Principle. Also, the perpetuation of a species, through never-ending cycles of deaths and births, or even in the evolution of science, that at one point causes its own downfall are cycles of the same Principle. In a battle, the Principle occurs when defense follows the attack, or when a series of attacks are released in order to weaken the adversary. Many forms of consumption or energy reloading can happen in only one cycle. But if one action(cycle) is modified in such a way in which it could cover more cycles, the result would be colossal in energy.
2) Rules:
There are no limits to how creative you can get with this contest, however there are some limits in regards to the story portion of the quest:

- Please do not write more than two pages, the limit is a half page to two pages.
*This is set in place this way so that the judge(s) do not tear their hair out and murder me.
- Your story must be in 'story format'. Meaning it has to have a character that is actually doing something in the story.

The only limit I will place on artwork is that you should send in illustrations that are 'complete'. I will be judging based on creativity, skill, and how closely the illustration matches the story you submit.

**The artwork must be your own artwork. If I find anyone who steals artwork to get a reward, they will immediately be disqualified- no matter how good their story is.

**You may only submit one entry, multiple entries are not allowed.**
Artwork submissions are to be placed in this thread using an upload link, or uploaded post attachments.

3) Judging:

There will be two sets of judges for this contest, and the judging will occur the week after the quest is over. (Aka. The week of New Years)
Artwork Submissions: Amoran K Kol, an Marvolo will judge these submissions.
Story Submissions: Tarquinus (and possibly one other judge) will judge these submissions.

All submissions must be in this thread by December 22nd!

4) Rewards:
1st: Wish point.
2nd: 5$ credit pack
3rd: Enter Oak Tower stone
4th: Two cups of Aromatic Tea or one sponsored creature.

Because I would like everyone in this contest to get at least SOMETHING for entering a submission, sponsored rewards are also welcome as well! :)

If you have any questions regarding this quest, please do not hesitate to ask.

5) Sponsorship, Donated Rewards:

Each year I hold this quest I make a point to ensure that each participant gets at least SOMETHING for their entry. Artwork is not a difficult thing to do, and the same can be said for writing. If effort is shown, you will get something- no matter how small the reward. The more effort put into the quest, the higher the reward is likely to be.

Thank you to those who choose to donate to the quest. If these rewards are not used, they will be returned to the person who donated after the quest is over.
**Please, when you send me a sponsored reward, message me as well so I can know who the reward came from.

Esmaralda: 3 silver coins, Tea, Grasan Ferment, Rainbow Candy, Syntropic dust
Lashtal: Mirror Ritual stone
Marvolo: Weaken 5 stone
Jolla: Imperial Aramor, Sharptear

Mysterious Gifts (Thank you!!): Silver, Timeless dust, (2) Spicy Pickles, Rainwater, Flowers

[Edit: spelling error, added information.]

14. I currently have spell stones, tea, silver, and candy to donate. I may also have some heavily aged creatures to give as well.

*Of course, some of these items may be used in a quest I will be sponsoring during the Feast of the Cycle.
